Before you go to Baltimore VA Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Baltimore emergency room think.
Michelle Williamson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am pleasantly surprised and happy with the friendly, timely and professional staff. I have received great medical care. My husband is active duty and we move quite a bit, so I have been to many VA hospitals. Baltimore VA is the best so far.Fred Burger⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis place is great.I usually am treated in DC,which has it’s problems that are getting better, but I had some difficult back surgery that was referred here a couple months ago.Everyone I encountered was polite and professional.I spent almost a week there before I was discharged.Great staff, communication and follow ups afterwards. Can’t see how I could have gotten better care anywhere in the world.Thank you Baltimore VA,especially the neurosurgery team and the ICU nurses. (Mae,Gail,Lawrence and Tyrone-thank you),plus the people who helped me when I was zonked out that I don’t remember. Also Lillian the LPN and Rodney the guy that sets up our appointments and never stops in the face of adversity- he WILL get you in there for a new appointment whether you want to try to bail and bag it or not-Thank you for your patience with me having to reschedule a few times. Pride and professionalism permeates this place.Whoever the people in charge are, they have this place running right. Edit-They could get better mattresses though.Kassandra Isabell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had a very positive and professional staff when I was a patient in the SICU. The care that I received was excellent. The VA in Baltimore is top notch care facility.Justin Weis⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommended5 star experience! Unfortunately you only see negative headlines about the VA system, my experience is only positive. For the past year I received treatment and surgery at Baltimore VA Medical Center and they do an outstanding job!Ali Hassoon⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI wanted to give a five stars review after my visit today for the second time to this facility. I had to get some tests done at the radiology department, and what an impressive encounter did I have. The staff accommodated me and change my MRI appointment to an earlier time. Thank you MRI staff, the entire staff were top notch! I am really hoping for future visits to be at the same level of professionalism and care! Thank you for serving those who served!Richard Stern⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedDental surgery department was great. They were very kind and very willing to accommadate for my SCI. They informed me of the details of the surgery and monitored my pain level throughout the proceedture. I was never left alone post-op. I was given instructions for suture care and all necessary meds. All was very professional and a pleasant experience.Chanel CurbeamThe worst!!! You literally can’t call this place and get a human on the phone. If you can take yourself elsewhere. Literally messes with my anxiety everytime I’m there.Henry Farkas⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy son goes to this hospital, and normally, he is happy with the care. However, today, he had an appointment in the same day surgery unit. He showed up at the scheduled time, and they did all the pre-op preparation. Then, when he was brought into the operating suite, they discovered that one person on the team who couldn’t be replaced, was not present. That’s why I gave only three stars. This, apparently, wasn’t due to a sudden emergency. It was just a mix up in scheduling. At least they told him the truth about it. That’s a good thing. Sept, 2019 My son had an appointment today, and I went there with him. He was late for the appointment, but they saw him anyway. He had two physicians. They spoke to us about his condition and answered all of our questions. His patient advocate also spent time with us. We were pleased with the care. I increased the number of stars in this review to fiveTracy SpriggsThis is the 3rd time that my husband came for a heart procedure. If the machines aren’t broke the tables are broke. Why not send him somewhere else ? Is this how ya’ll treat our veterans ? This is unacceptable !Tyrone Burr⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedJacob is a really nice driver I ride with him at least twice a weekFlyMom RhymesIf I could give this hospital negative stars I would. It’s sad that as a Veteran, I have to wait up to 12 hours in the Emergency Room. To expedite this grueling process, Nurse Practitioners should attend to minor emergencies which would minimize longer wait times. I honestly should be getting paid for this 12 hour bout.Jojo De JesusI’m not really even sure why I’m bothering to write this, but I can’t help feeling so discouraged whenever dealing with this place. I’d rather put myself thousands of dollars into debt to get decent healthcare and be treated as a human being. This is an awful placeRichard Coulter⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHave gotten GREAT service at the VA Baltimore.KrahlingSportsAgencyDisgusting how the staff here treats people. Absolutely disgusting.Inkey Sewell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI haven’t been in since they remodeled the place. I like it!Rick Hilliard⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I been here 5 years i have many reasons.Blink Juan AyteetooUnbelievable poor experiences every time. This most recent one I waited four hours in the waiting room after the nurses line specifically told me to go to the ER just for them to keep me in my room for another four hours to the point I requested just to go home if they weren’t going to see me. Doctor FINALLY showed up and gave me six pills I could have bought at Walgreens and sent me home. Absolute joke of a hospital, and this is JUST the ER. I am still in a ridiculous amount of pain because the soonest the my doctor, who is equally incompetent and refuses to treat issues (like giving allergy meds to someone who turned out to have a chest infection), can see me is in 3 weeks.Keisha Campbell-Ellis⭐️⭐️Not a place I will come back to if I can help. I worked here for years had a safety issue with one of their female officers showing up to my home. I reported her and show her supervisors the video of her on my doorstep and nothing was done. I had to be forced to work in a building with this officer until I had enough and found a new job. Her management nor VA management done nothing to guarantee my safety and the fact that i have 2 minor children at my home and still nothing was done. They smiled in my face as if there were going to do something and nothing. I pray no one ever experience what i experienced and have to worry about their safety..Andrew KoschierA lot of the staff is rude and unhelpful. Phone operators will foward you randomly and not confirm who they are forwarding you to. Wait times are horrible. Getting an appointment your looking at over a month out. Getting approved for care in the community takes two months.Katie MaldoGarbage place to go to. Been here for hours waiting to be seen. Saw people get called back just for vitals that came in after me. Thought maybe they had a more pressing emergency. Finally after waiting 3 hours asked why my vitals hadn’t even been taken yet. They said, “oh we remember you coming in… there was an infant that came in and we must have lost your paperwork”. They will tell you to contact patient advocate, which I did and never heard back. Veterans please write your senators and representatives for VA issues. Patient advocacy nor the VA will do anything about it.Vaun NorwoodThey murdered my father Charles Ruffner, nothing but incompetency.marvy padillaA wait time of almost an hour in the phone to be help and no one answers! Not good!!! Them someone answers and hangs up!!!! Not good!!Pappy Pappy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy out patient clinic is fantastic. Never had any Problems at the VA. Last September I came in to the emergency room right leg hurting shortness of breath. The Doctor had me take a cat scan of my lungs. She told me after the cat scan that I had multiple blood clots go into my right lung had they been closer to the center of my chest, I would be dead. I spent a week in the hospital. The care I got was great…..my primary care team stays on top of things.Micah Mysiuk⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIt’s a VA building, so expect a wait. Even more hours than you’d think. That being said, the employees here do really value veterans and make sure you receive the care you deserve. This individual care makes wait times longer, but it’s worth it.John AbendBring snacks and a pillow and blanket. You’re gonna be in one helluva wait.Jasmine McConnellThis is the worst hospital i have ever been in, it is like they do not respect the veterans at all. It is disheartening to see that we have a whole facility dedicated to the men and women who have served our country in different ways, yet the people who work there (doctors, nurses, staff, etc) do not care about them at all.Roberto King Williams⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent!Maria MielesHad a real bad experience in the ER. Press the call button and no one came. Took of my heart monitor and it was beeping so loud! Still no one came. Walked out of the ER and no one stop me or even call me. If you want to die, don’t commit suicide. Just go to the VA ER. They will do the job for youLynne Strayhorn⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis place has been good so far! I just moved here from NC and I’ve had appointments between Baltimore VA and Loch Raven…so far so good.Char Holley⭐️⭐️⭐️Some say they usually have fast service in the va er but today in the emergency room VERY SLOW waiting more than 6 plus hours and theres no beds ♀️McDaniel Hamilton⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This was one of my first contacts with the VA medical system. I eventually had my surgery through the orthopedic unit here. The surgery was successful, but the recovery was super difficult. The doctors I’ve had were decent. I had one negative encounter with a receptionist who was extremely rude to me when I asked her to guide me to the seating area for my appointment to wait. My doctor was a part of the shock trauma team across the street. He did great job keeping me updated on the procedures and surgery. The store was not very impressive as other locations I’ve been. The pharmacy process was reasonably adequate for pickup at this location. There is underground parking for patients that was accessible, but small for pickup trucks. I have had to deal with many of the pre-op workers and follow up workers. The first doctor I had was a bit slow and older, but seemed to know how to put me at ease. I have had several follow up appointments where this location is firmly a decent location that I have been treated.Victoria EspinosaI have been trying to get information for my mother for the past 3 hours am currently on hold for the past 25 minutes… for the second time i might add… and still am getting no answers. I feel sorry for the patients if this is the service I am receiving. And cant complain about a specific person because no one answers the phone with their names…another sign of great service Update on hold for 1 hour 15 minutes with no information. P.s thank you for the automated response to my issueMama BearThe medical records office is a disgrace to our veterans and our entire country and their families. They are lazy and should be fired immediately. My husband and I tried calling their office for a month. Leaving countless messages with no one returning our call. After calling a nurse who I believe helped connect us to someone working there she was extremely rude to my husband. Here we are almost a month out from that call and he still has not received his va medical records…mind you he only went about 2 times to the doctor so it shouldn’t take them long. Its the last piece of info we need for my husband to submit his waiver to reenlist. Honestly, it makes me want to cry that they just dont care. I will be making an official complaint to the inspector general about the baltimore va medical records. God bless.Franchesca DiazCompletely over the VA. If dealing with providers who don’t listen to concerns, hang up on you, blurt out your health information in hallways, keep you waiting for hours just to get medicine, speak disrespectfully to veterans, and don’t care to hear your complaints about how you’ve been treated is for you, please visit this VA. Very unpleasant experiences with this facility. It’s a wonder how some of these providers have been given the honor to work with some of the finest soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and coastguardsmen. Will definitely speak to Patient Advocate department once break is over. I can’t even go to get the treatment I need until then (or even later) because every time I go people are rude as all hell. Not impressed.MCB Lighting & Electrical⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’ve been out of the service for six years now, and had been going to Johns Hopkins with the idea that I would receive better care simply based on their reputation. Although they are a very good hospital with good care, I have found that the Baltimore VA Medical Center is far better than I had imaged they might be. I plan on going to this hospital for all of my future medical needs. All of the staff that I have come in contact with so far have gone above and beyond with everything they do. I highly recommend this facility for your treatment.CARMEN DELAHOZ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedKudos to Faye Hamilton-Dixon from Radiology. Very professional and kindness that shows. Most of the time I get anxious coming to VA but she made me feel at ease during procedure.Christel R⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️It’s getting better all the time.Dante McThis is the worst place ever to be seen if your a veteran. I’m an Army veteran that’s been out for about 20 years. I don’t use the VA because I have my own insurance. I called this place to get my father some help with seeing a doctor because he has been having complications with his medicine. The nurse on call was so ignorant and unhelpful that I almost lost my cool. She treated me like I was asking her for gold; I was just trying to change my fathers appointment to another day. He’s been dealing with a life threating situation that I felt needed to be addressed. I also was really disappointed because I’ve worked in costumer service all my life and I’ve always tried to make people comfortable and assured. As a law enforcement officer I have never in my like talked to anyone the way she talked to me. I’m really thinking about making a formal complaint about this place because our veteran should not be treated bad after sacrificing their families and lives for this country.Joseph De Prisco⭐️⭐️This rating I am submitting is very hard to give I’ve been through many departments at this at this hospital since I got wanted in Iraq amid all of them only been the the neurology and the the physical and occupational occupational therapy that have been been the best best me and my my however there are some excellent folks also in in health but for the most part it is just a complete mess very disorganized and you could see the frustrate Chin even down to every single employee of the entire hospital on this way too much red tape to have to fight through for everything let alone trying to ask a doctor just to get a DBQ form completed they still need to do a lot of renovations to make that place look nice special way it’s connected to the University of Maryland Hospital. As you can see I have mixed emotions regarding the treatment, care and wellness that is given overall by the Baltimore VA medical center however they have so many true doctors nurses practitioners assistance radiologist that I actually do care better and non-veteran so many of them that I actually suffer from a lot of the same problemsMichael Kennedy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat service to our Veterans!Kat Fre⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEvery time I’ve gone there I’ve had nothing but friendly & timely service. I would go there for primary care instead of Ft. Meade, but Ft. Mead is closer. Like I said I’ve had nothing but friendly interactions.Erin WrightTerrible service. Dr. Jerrad is unprofessional, condescending, and incompetent. Provided patient with no solution or relief, waited 5 hours. The IV was inserted improperly causing “a ‘small’ hematoma” per Dr. Jerrad, lump on arm was **larger than a silver dollar** and raised an inch as seen in picture. Dr. tried to pretend it was normal and said he would put on a “compression type bandage” which was a piece of gauze taped down. Patient was literally worse off leaving after “care” than before being admitted. Avoid this VA at all costs. Go to DC VA.david powers⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommended100% happy with the care I have received. A big shout out to the hard working, caring staff. I’m feeling great. Many thanks !Joey Mattingly⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI love the VA hospital cafeteria for 2 big reasons: 1) Very tasty fried chicken & 2) I enjoy eating lunch around all the veterans and VA staff – just a great group of people.Sebastian Bruce Stover⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️For me and my care, they have been excellent to date.Robert BrentI there are very few caring staff here, from the ER to the clinics. They don’t seem to care… The ones that do, are new or students and can’t do anything about it because the staff in charge prevents them from being able to actually help. It’s a shame how they treat veterans.Paul Lewis⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGood people, good service. The folks at the Chapel are great :).Sinopa Amor⭐️⭐️⭐️This place is a nightmare to get into but otherwise a great VA good luck finding the garage your first time.Genia McNeill⭐️⭐️⭐️Ms. Faye in radiology is the best!! I was upset about the lack of parking at the Saratoga garage and started to go home. I called and asked Ms. Faye in radiology to reschedule my mammogram. I told her I was upset and had a headache and was going home. She told me I should take some deep breaths and if I come in now, she would take me in right away. She gave me advice on where to find other parking. I followed her advice and found parking around the corner, walked in and she was waiting for me at the desk! She has a very pleasant disposition and really care about her patients. I realize why I still keep coming to the VA for care. Agopy love from Ms. Faye. Keep doing what you do!!!Jayceson Gordon⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️My first experience was at the emergency room. All the staff were very polite and professional. I thought this may have just been the night shift however my recent visit proved that it may the entire staff. From the security, receptionist to the doctors are great. They really know how to make a veteran and their guest feel appreciated as I had brought my son with me. He was also treated with respect. I have been to 3 VA medical facilities before but have never met a staff so great. Thank you to each and everyone there for the care you give because you guys sure seems to appreciate our service.Frank Spencer⭐️⭐️Wait is way too long for lab draw, over 90 minuets this is ridiculous only 2 people drawing blood at the busiest time of the day, who schedules thisJameson Mcglaughlin⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I’m sorry but this is the worst VA Medical Center I have ever been to and I’ve been to a few. For the most part the staff here are rude, typically don’t act like they care and don’t seem to know what they are doing in the first place. I’ve been here several times, not by choice and today is the second time in a row I’ve left the Dental Clinic in pain. Due to the fact that they are understaffed and over booked they didn’t even give time for the numbness to take effect. Other clinic’s at this specific facility I’ve gone to just submit a refill for prescriptions that never worked to begin with. Maybe it’s do to the fact that many other doctors/dentists have there own practices and if they do a poor job they will go out of business, but that’s just my guess. Although I don’t write many reviews I’m pretty sure this is the only bad review I have ever written on google, but from what I’ve been through now, it literally feels justifiable. Update: The patient advocate office, as well as the doctors who I received treatment all were in contact with me shortly after writing this review. All of my concerns were addressed and resolved in a timely manner.Malia ConordI brought a family member to this facility a few months ago. He had served overseas leading a medical platoon that was betrayed, ambushed, and attacked. His soldiers were hurt and killed and he was knocked unconscious as he helped them. When he returned home from war, he developed a problem with alcohol which is why I had brought him to the hospital. The doctor who saw my relative told him that he should leave to open the bed for another soldier, implying that my relative should battle out that addiction on his own, and as if some other soldier’s life was somehow more important than his. He is dead now. I remember a woman entering the room to re-stock supplies who yelled at him in this state he was in. I was completely shocked by the behavior of the staff, and I held the entire weight of my relative to carry him out of that hospital and down the street because they were wrong, and I won’t stand for it.Orlando⭐️⭐️It shouldn’t take 30-60 minutes just to find a parking spot. And, it’s better to order prescriptions over the phone or internet; takes anywhere from 45-75 minutes to get a prescription refill.Kevin King⭐️⭐️⭐️The staff gets 5 stars, but the facilities get 2 stars. If they had the facilities that were updated they would be a 5 star operation.Bruce Poole⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFirst time and was impressed with the organization and how helpful the staff was.Monica ShupeThey don’t care about the vets at all n that’s really sad bc they went to war for us!!! I’ve seen first hand how they treat the vets n I got SICK!!!!!!! This is the worst place EVER!!!!!mary carterI would like to thank you for getting my husbands breathing medicine to him in only six short weeks. After 7 or 8 phone calls and as many lame excuses, it finally came today. Tonight he will be able to sleep without gasping for breath all night. It’s nice to know how you feel about our vets, that you would take such good care of them.Jmall Hopson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Nice needs workRonald Ringgold⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff is always very nice and professional. Have had many surgeries at this location and have always been treated awesome.Lolita Marcucci⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The VA has improved with appointment available. I really like the genuine concern displayed by most at Greene Street and Loch Raven.Barbra JohnsonI was refused a referral to dermatology. Now I am forced to pay for treatments for pre-cancer. I need biopsies to determine if I have cancer. This is a horrible system.I take the day off of work to see a doctor smack in the middle of the day.Doctors playing God. If I have cancer it was because I was refused a referral and this has been festering for years. A very broken system!!!! Makes me unproud to be American.Mandy KWow!!! Sitting here with my fiancé and the patient next to us may be “annoying” the nurse because he asks when his bed upstairs will be ready… Her response “when you get one” that’s how you treat a Vet??! If you don’t have a heart or patience your in the wrong field!!!Charles Fort⭐️⭐️Worse service ever. Like they cared or gave a damn.Irish MASMS⭐️⭐️⭐️It is the central VA Medical center for MD, so I had to come here to transfer/set up my care with them. Note that many of their offices close at 4pm, so forget leaving work early to come here. Note that there is free underground parking, enter from the north side of the building on West Faeyette Street and show your ID. The location is three blocks from the Light rail, not a bad walk depending on what street you take. Otherwise, it is a VA complex – all the same color scheme, lackluster & disgruntled VA staff, decrepit veterans that deserve better care. A little social engineering with the staff – be friendly, joke with them – will get them to smile and be a bit more helpful. Usually.Lisa BlairThis place is a human chop shop had three surgery’s amputate both legs infections still going very sad the way they treat the Veterans there. I’m a daughter of a Veteran and I tell you the same don’t go there….the stories are REAL I can show you pictures and it would BLOW YOUR MIND of what they do to veterans from Vietnam who the now call them OLD HEADS….. SO SADBob Goetz⭐️⭐️I have always been proud of the Baltimore VA till today. To come into ER from a car accident yesterday and be sitting here for almost 2 hours while only 2 people have been called is unacceptable. I had to park in a pay garage as nothing was available on site and will cost me 20.00 if I get out. Just a side note….I walked out after 3 hours. This is terrible.FACT S⭐️⭐️⭐️It’s a nice placeSantos Alvarado⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThey help you as much as they canmitchell plummer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGoodRobert Maki⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedLocation is tough if there is ever a ball game and in general. It’s the VA, but the staff at this location is what sets it apart. Especially the individuals who work there, the OEF/OIF office, has always been great for me and my family. If you need help ask for Mr. Jim Wilkes…Latonya Johnson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCustomer service is wonderfulJeannie Peyton⭐️⭐️Or is hard to even get an appt here so I decided I wanted a outside doctor who would care more! So after getting a outside doctor and trying to get my life together the VA is telling me that my outside doctor needs to give my prescription to them for a service connected disability instead of just getting me my meds like they usually did when they didn’t even care about me! Now I have to jump through hoops to get the meds I need before I run out! This is a disgrace to is service men and woman who have service connected disabilities and issues! Free as long as they seem me once a year for a year supply but they didn’t even care about me! Now jumping through hoops because I would rather use a outside doctor who cares!Keith Winkelman⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Pretty busy as expected, but the parking garage was a really nice feature.Kimberly WilliamsThe staff is extremely rude. I hear that this is a normal occurrence. Very sad how the vets are treated.Serena Brown⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Great hospital been going there for years to visit grandmotherFranklin LLoyd⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Dear Brothers and Sisters. Remember all the sitting and waiting, and waiting, and waiting and being treated like a “thing” where ever you were? This Med Cntr ain’t that place!!! nor are the local CntrLs. ALL of the working people
