Nurse Amanda was amazing with my daughter, made her feel very good when she was nervous and in pain, gave her a special treat. The doctor that saw her was excellent. He treated her as if she were his own daughter and put her at ease throughout the whole process, calm and reassuring. The entire experience from the second I checked in with admitting (and phone calls) to the time I left it was perfect. I will always go to this hospital. The nurses were so caring, they went above and beyond. The facility was very clean and accommodating. As the patient you and your family and the main priority. When I left to go home the kitchen made me an entire lasagna dinner to take home so I wouldn’t have to worry about cooking. I highly recommend.Tammy Tway Not a good experience and still very sick. To think I have to pay them 1400.00 for nothing is insane. My nurse was great in fact the few nurses that I had encounters with were great however the PA that treated me was very arrogant and rude. I had 5 children in Massachusetts in a very busy L&D unit having 300 plus births a month. I had my 6th baby at Banner Ironwood and I must say the attention from staff and providers was excellent. I felt like I was the only patient on the floor, even though I know I wasn’t because I could hear other babies being born. Dr. Butler-Poku and my RNs listened to what I wanted and let me labor slowly with an induction on pitocin. I came in at 5pm on 11/14/19. I was 4cm 60% effaced. They were going to start with cytotec but me and the nurse decided I was contracting a little too much on my own already, so the RN and I and Dr BP decided on pitocin. In the AM the next day around 8am Dr. BP came in doing her rounds and decided let’s break your water, I was 6cm. Baby was straight OP. Things got extremely intense and I requested the epidural. The anesthesiologist was very quick to get to my room and also putting it in. I fell asleep for a very short time when I was woken up by very painful contractions felt in the lower left corner of my abdomen. So the nurse checked me and I was complete. So she called Dr. BP to come for delivery. Dr. BP was very fast and as soon as she got there and set everything up within 2 pushes baby girl was here at 10:00 on 11/15/19! The post partum staff were also very attentive and tried not to wake me and baby up during the night. Thank you to all the staff. You all will forever have a special place in my heart. Forgotten about by nurses I had to go find one after getting my gallbladder removed. Than told another procedure will be needed. Forgotten about overnight as well! However been waiting to talk to a doctor about the next procedure. It’s been over 24hours no information. But they happily rack up a bill. Worst part when you express your concern. The only response is”we are waiting for two doctors to decide on when they can help you.” When we find out well let you know….Daisy Magana I used to be astonished by this hospital but not any more. Chest and left arm pain with dropping heart rate doesn’t constitute as an Emergency. It’s simply “Normal” “You’re still in pain? Let me send you Norco, go home.” Horrible! All we wanted were answers and they refused to do more tests!Ed Winters my wife, who had a stroke 10 years ago and has chronic uti infections was taken to the emergency. after 9 hours in emergency, the attending Dr recommended .a medication for bacterial infections. Although my wife was showing signs of dementia no diagnostics were offered and she was sent home. Now the signs of dementia have increased. Took over 2 hours just to get into a room. Then another 30 minutes to see a doctor. Then another 2 1/2 hours to get results from blood work. Staff was friendly but the wait is ridiculous.Tammi Lutz Unmedicated labor and delivery with no IV, no monitoring and the bill was $5,500 Say what? The nurses were talking trash about the mom not wanting IV’s or medication and tried to scare her into inducing labor 1.5 hours before she gave birth with no help all because her water had been broke for 8 hours. They didn’t even want to give her time to labor naturally. If you want a natural birth go to a birthing center. This is not the hospital for you!MCG TheReaper I have been suffering from a fractured thumb for almost 2 months. The front desk lady in the orthopedic’s office lied to me about my xrays being available electronically. After 3 calls over the course of a month and a visit to my own doctor, I found that they did have the xrays available electronically through simonmed, and the front desk lady argued with me on the last call. Stating that I would still need to bring in the CD’s even though they have the same images online through Simonmed, because it didn’t include the date of the injury. The referral they received did include it. I then told her I would be moving my referral to someone else, after the haste and lies I’ve been told by the under trained front desk person. I had my provider redirect the referral and contact the manager over at Ironwood Orthopedic, and an hour later, I got a call from the same front desk lady stating they had just recieved the referral today. Lying to me again as the referral was sent on the 5th of this month (almost 20 days ago) and that we had never spoken before. After checking with my provider to find that they were lying I’ve reached out to the director and am writing this review. If you go here, they take electronic xrays through simonmed, and don’t wait to have any fractures fixed. They are ignorant about their own processes and when corrected, become severely irate and lie to forward their strive for ignorance.Lisa Lombard Had to take my husband to the ER Friday night for unknown severe quadrant pain. Banner Ironwood is the closest ER. I ran into the hospital asking for assistance to get my husband out of the car and the lady at the desk pointed at a wheelchair and said to use that. Another person waiting in the ER came out and helped me. The lady checking us in was as slow as Christmas, sent him over to the triage nurse, who didn’t acknowledge we were there. Waited approximately 5 minutes with my husband howling in pain and finally left because no on there seemed to care about my husband’s pain or what might be causing it. Everyone, nurses, volunteers, doctors were very kind and treated me very well. They were very organized and very professional. They are very concerned with infection control. All of them were very nice to My new little family Adrienne Yo I have been to the ER twice for myself. Horrible care and coldest most unemotional rude staff. The first time I had a respiratory reaction to aspirin along with multiple golf ball hematomas to both legs. There was a young man ahead of me with a bandaid on the end of his first finger for a wound not healing and an old man sitting in the lobby by himself with gauze wrap around his head covering his eyes with blood all over his hands, face and chest. The triage and care was horrible. They took the young guy with the bandaid ahead of the two of us and had nobody to comfort the elderly man or help him call for family. We sat next to the elderly man to comfort him and called several friends on his behalf. They left him just sitting there. Last night I went to the ER after a fall. I had surgery 13 days early to my calf muscle, osteotomy to the heel bone and reattached achilles tendon. I am non weight bearing status post op. When I fell, I stuck out my surgical leg and full weight beared on it and heard a pop followed by swelling. I was in 8/10 pain. My husband took the wrong turn in and pulled into the ambulance lane. We saw several staff talking in the hall. He ran up to the door to ask for help getting me into a wheelchair and the staff strolled up with absolutely no sense of urgency. A male with dark hair and a dark beard in a navy blue sweat jacket (with ER on the back) told my husband to go to the other entrance. My husband said, ” you can’t help me get her into a wheelchair?” He replied no and to go to the other entrance. He had the most uncaring, emotionless personality and it got my husband so upset and he cused at the guy. Once again there was little triaging. The blond older nurse at the desk was also rude and callous and made excuses for the over 2 hour wait. (Half of which I was the only one in the lobby) . The “triage” nurse in the little room was very condescending and said, “oh you didn’t just have surgery, it’s been almost two weeks”. She was absolutely clueless about the surgery I had and the non weight bearing status I was under. After 2 hours I calked my surgeon to let them know what was going on. They were upset I had not been seen and encouraged me to go home and take the pain meds I am on, ice and come to clinic to be seen. Next tome I will go to Florence Anthem ER.tom koppes THANKS FOR MAKING ME SO DEPRESSED I WANT TO CANCEL MY KNEE SURGERY.. THE PROCESS OF GETTING ALL THE PREOP CLEARANCES IS MORE PAINFUL THAN THE ACTUAL SURGERY, I’M SURE…. SPENT THREE DAYS TRYING TO GET ALL THE PREOP CLEARANCES COVERED & STILL DON’T HAVE ANY OF THEM TAKEN CARE OF… I’M A VETERAN & THE VA IS TAKING CARE OF MY KNEE SURGERY.. THEY GAVE ME AN AUTHORIZATION LETTER WITH ALL THE COVERED SERVICES & BANNER WOULD NOT ACCEPT THAT AS AN APPROVAL FOR ME TO HAVE MY EKG, LABS, & CHEST XRAYS DONE THERE…STILL JUMPING THRU HOOPS TO GET THIS DONE…IN ORDER TO GET THE VA INSURANCE (TRI WEST) TO COVER THE VARIOUS LI ST OF COVERAGES THEY ARE APPROVED BY THE VA DOCTORS … I’M GOING TO GIVE THEM ONE MORE SHOT NEXT WEEK & SEE IF GETTING THE VA ADVOCATE INVOLVED HELPED… I SURE HOPE THE THE REST OF THE VETERANS USING THE COMMUNITY INS. SERVICE DON’T HAVE THIS PROBLEM… TOM K.Terri Karlin Generally, I’m a huge fan of the Banner brand. We were so excited when we moved to Encanterra to see the hospital across the street. My husband is a C6/C7 quadriplegic, paralyzed from the upper chest down. Due to no sensation, his body has a backup plan for warning him something is wrong called “Autonomic Dysreflexia”. However, this backup warning can turn terribly wrong causing a stroke or death. There is a lot of back story I will spare the reader, but we ended up having to use their services because he went in to “Autonomic Dysreflexia” and we couldn’t correct it at home. Fully expecting capable medical professionals, as in most cases of other Banner hospitals, practices, and urgent cares, we were shocked to be met with quite the contrary. From the moment we entered, we were greeted by an extremely rude receptionist who turned is over to a very nice nurse so I fully expected things would go well and was reinforced with that thought when another nurse recognized that I was the lady she had talked to on the phone and she was very caring and expressed concern and well wishes. But, then things took a bad turn for the worse and our hopes of having a competent hospital nearby dashed. The medical staff that set us up and tended to us in the room, were overtly dismissive and not remotely listening. After 23 years of dealing with Spinal Cord Injury diagnosis, you might imagine that we are fairly well versed in certain aspects of this condition. I tried to explain the urgency of the AD and the steps we had taken to stop the symptoms. I have never felt more ignored and dismissed in all of my life and the nurse was shockingly incompetent. I can’t possibly explain in detail how wrong this experience went, but in the end, I had to run home, grab our own supplies and change my husband’s indwelling catheter myself in the hospital. My actions ended up resolving the issue and taking him out of AD. (The reason I didn’t change it at home is because I had just changed it two days before and was concerned the symptoms were something more hidden). I am deeply concerned about ever returning to this hospital for an emergency. The doctor that eventually came in was very nice and I let him know how disappointed we were in the experience. I hate to write such a negative review on a Banner but this could have been life threatening. I shudder to think what would have happened if I had not been there. There are adults able to say what is wrong and it’s not difficult to ascertain if they are actually an emergency or not. My son is crying out for an hour and we are still sitting in the waiting room with the same people. Nobody has moved. A drunk woman is pushed out laughing about being “69 years old” and still partying so hard she had to go to the ER. So my son who can’t actually explain what’s going on due to his age, isn’t being seen? But an elderly woman is able to hold up the ER because she’s too drunk? This is absolutely ridiculous and some patients should be given priority. The hospital shouldn’t be so understaffed either. Front desk woman (dark hair) was very clinical, cold, and rude – even to my son. You do realize a large portion of patient outcome is rapport with caretakers right? It doesn’t seem anyone is trained properly. I’ll never use this hospital again. It’s what I paid for a doctor to answer “because you’re a woman” when I asked possible causes of mysterious abdominal pain. Completely blowing off my question of “do I need to follow up with a gynecologist then?” Two days I wasted at this ER. Feeling the worst pain of my life. To be treated like an annoyance. To be treated like a drug seeker. I understand the feeling of burnout and being calloused. I also work in a similar field. The lack of compassion and blaming my gender on my issues was disgusting. Especially pulling religion into the mix and being told I can speak with God instead of telling me “I’m sorry I’m not sure”. I ended up at a different ER 3rd time that week. I found out I had a severe impaction, bladder infection and kidney stones. I was told by all the nurses and doctors at this second ER I made a mistake by trusting a Banner. I attempted to file a complaint and was told to pound sand on several different occasions. Banner genuinely did not care. (Surprising right?) I will be telling as many as I can about Banner and the way they treated me so others dont make the mistake of trusting them in their time of need. To my surprise I was seen with in the first 10 minutes and keep in mind this is the middle of flu season. I take them here the nurses and doctors are so welcoming and kind. Today I had a bad experience with the receptionists not being very professional and they seemed annoyed with my children and I wont go into detail about the situation. The manager I spoke to took care of the incident and she reassured me that I was right to come to her with the issue. This is why I always return to this hospital because they take care of thier patients and always thrive to have better customer service. I will be having my 5th baby in August 2019 at ironwood.Mick O’Hare⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I came here for my grandmothers surgery. She had two operations in one and the whole process took about 4 hours. The doctor’s were informative and let us know everything that was going on through the operation. The nurses in the recovery unit were friendly, attentive and pleasant to have around. The Roadrunner Cafe on the bottom level gets high marks as well. Some of the best “hospital food” i’ve had and the prices were very reasonable. So much so that i’ve seen some of the public stop by the hospital just for a bite to eat at the cafe. Definitely recommend getting a bit to eat here if you’re ever inside Banner Ironwood.L. Jones Went to the hospital on Fri because I am sick. Spent over 12 hours in the ER because they didn’t have any beds available. Lovely. *Fast forward to Sunday when I’m released* they tell me that I’m being released and that they will call my meds in. They were giving me an inhaler and Albuterol for a nebulizer. I told them I didn’t have a nebulizer at home so no way to use the meds. They STILL only called in the Albuterol. So no inhaler and no nebulizer to actually use the Albuterol. I tried on several occasions to contact them to get this fixed, but I was never contacted after the nurse said she would. So it’s 2 in the morning and I’m sitting on the side of my bed, 22 weeks pregnant and wheezing because they failed to give me appropriate meds upon discharge. BTW no store would give me a nebulizer without a prescription. Nobody but Amazon. **** The Doctor’s name is Arshad Masood. Steer clear.**** SN: everyone is really nice and I won’t bad mouth them. The doctor and staff seemed very caring. Less than 24 hours from surgery he was discharged without any paperwork being filled out( which they said would happen) no medication for the 2 hour ride home with a broken leg. I feel your discharge person is negligent and does your hospital no credit. Spent 4 hours in car with mt son AND his broken leg to finally go back to the hospital to fill out paperwork that should have already been done BEFORE discharge. I asked 3 people in the hospital who could I talk to about this type of treatment and got the runaround. They blamed the doctor! I am so disappointed by the accountability. This was a workers comp claim , 3 different types of insurance involved, had anyone actually got concerned maybe he wouldn’t have been kicked out so callously because of lack of immediate cash in hand? On Tuesday morning they called me and told me I would need to pay my deductible, I gave them my account number and paid the bill. They tended to me quickly treated me with respect and helped me throough the complications I was having.. They are gental with new borns. They listen to my birthing plan and everything I wanted. They send you home with dinner and a blanket for your new baby. I had all three of my kids here.Cassie Ham⭐️⭐️Brought my baby here for a fever/lethargy/cough. The triage nurse Brooke was absolutely amazing and attentive and concerned but everything goes downhill after that. It took 30 minutes to see a nurse, all while my child’s fever was climbing to 104°, once the nurse Jessica and doctor came in, the doctor was very nice and said he would place orders for ibuprofen to bring his fever down. Another 30 minutes goes by and still no sign of the nurse with medicine, all the while my child breaks out into a rash from having such a high fever and is absolutely miserable and lethargic. I go out to find a nurse and Chelsea was so sweet and immediately grabs ibuprofen and brings it in. We didn’t see our actual nurse ever again, she actually never spoke any words to us at all, never checked on us or asked how my child was feeling. I know the ER is busy and has sick patients, I get it. But giving a sick baby ibuprofen takes less than 5 minutes of your time and made a world of a difference, and actually pretending like you care about your patients also makes a difference to the parents when they’re worried about their baby.M.FERCH They will send you to collections without first sending you a bill!!.They tried to ruin my credit. They still haven’t contacted me or sent me a bill, even though I responded to their link below.
