Before you go to Banner – University Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Phoenix emergency room think.
Gaby Nistoran⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThanks God for My Life ❤ NO CANCER – JUST TUMOR NOT MALIGNANT Great results from Radiology & CT scan I just want to Thank you all at the Banner ER Hospital , everyone they are professional & excellent service…kyle keating⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThey took care of me today for a kidney stone. The people that work there were exceptionally helpful. Obviously it was expensive with my dumb lack-of-insurance, but this is the US, expensive healthcare is expected. Thanks for dealing with my moans of pain and getting me taken care of ASAP.Drew MontTook 6 hours to be seen in ER. Finally was seen by a Physicians assistant who came in to look at me. She looked in my nose and said wow it’s too narrow in there. I got hit in the nose and it busted my nose up and my cartilage is caved in and turbinates are swollen hypertrophic , swelling enough to push towards my septum. She said she didnt understand anything I was talking about . So I asked for a doctor. she didnt say anything about diagnosis or treatment. And left saying nothing. During my wait for another hour I asked who was helping me cause the PA just left me without any diagnosis or saying how she can help me. Every person walking by said, oh she’ll be back to help you, then they’d go back to a group of medical staff that weren’t working and talk and laugh about me, saying stuff like hahah who does he think he is? Hes not getting quick treatment here at his beck n call. Then a few minutes went by and an insurance rep went in there asking me billing questions to bill me. I told him I haven’t been seen by a doctor or treated or anything, no one even gave me anything to relieve the pain I was in! He said just that fact that i was sitting in here is grounds for billing you for services, even if a doctor hasn’t seen me or helped me. I said I need to see a doc and get help before Im billed for nothing cause I been there for 7 hours and have had no help. He said ok give me a sec and left the room and yelled to the non working medical staff that was laughing in a group, and said, get security and get this guy the heck out cause he didnt want to sign this without getting help from a doc. I sat there in that joke of an ER FOR 7 HOURS, and security and a policeman come up to my room and tell me I’ve been discharged and need to leave or they’ll arrest me and charge me with trespassing.Natasha Banks⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI see a lot of complaints about this facility…. But you won’t be getting a bad review from me. If I could rate it infinity stars, I would. I have never been to such a freaking amazingly awesome hospital EVER. I am one of those people who have to be dragged kicking and screaming to a doctor/hospital. My mind has been completely changed E.R. wait was approximately 15 minutes, had me back in a bed immediately after check in and triage. The nurses are gentle, jovial, absolutely wonderful. The doctors sit and speak <<------ with you and truly explain everything clearly and answer all questions, address concerns (what a concept). And the food..... is so good! It's really food that is fresh, not looking like they grabbed it from the back alley dumpster. Just an awesome facility. I would highly recommend this hospital Emmanuel TunrarebiCame Into Banner university medical center with severe chest pain and shortness of breath On Wednesday November 6th 2019 at around 6:30pm. After 3 and a half hours here in waiting room, I am still waiting to be seen. By far longest wait time I have had in any emergency room in the greater Phoenix area.Sa M⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFast triage, short wait, excellent care, the nurse was informative and kind, he kept me advised throughout my stay, the Dr was efficient, kind and attentive.Keith Erlandson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have to say i have no idea why so many 1 star reviews. Its a big hospital ER and they never turn anyone away like other hospitals do and they come to this one. I think one reason could be they didn’t get what they wanted or thought they deserved. I know those people. I just wanna say they ran every test and some twice and had me in the loop the whole time. Couldnt figure it out so i spent the night and maybe 2 ti figure out this issue. Thank you every ER Doctor and nurse. As i write this im waiting to go to a room. Dint change!!!!MeThis place sucks especially in the emergency room, every time I go there, they won’t help at all.. they seem to over look my pain and they do other things but that.. and they say they didn’t find anything and they send me back to my primary care doctor.. it’s not right they should help.. and really be there for you. But they don’t. Years ago this place was so good.. now I don’t know what happened it just got bad ..Hans Battenfeld⭐️⭐️Inefficient and expensive. Go somewhere else, can’t be much worse.Markell StaffieriI could go on and on. Suffice it say I checked in around 9:30am. As I was told by the ER at Banner Gateway I HAD to go to Banner U because they had the right staff for my procedure. By 3:30pm I had spent maybe 5min with a doctor, 10 min with the lady taking my money and a great nurse who gave me an IV. I was waiting for a specialist who never came. Nobody gave me updates. I asked the doc if he could just do the procedure and he said he could but wouldn’t. (It was draining an abscess with a needle, basically drawing blood) I ended up checking myself out and going home.JC nunyaWell i could type out my story. if you just take a few minutes to read the bad reviews that came before this then my story would just be a lot more of the same lack of treatment and failure to address the real problem at all. They simply just sedated my friend to shut her up because she was screaming the most blood curdling sounds of pure agony ive ever heard. Then supposedly they took some x rays and said there was nothing Broken and from that point on it was a race to try to wake my friend so they could discharge her. She can barely move now. her arm and hand and back and neck are all completely out of wack and there appears to. Be some sort of nerve damage. She was hit by a car while riding her bike. And all she got was sedation and a bill. This place is on par with Auschwitz in 1942. Go here if you want to add insult to your own injury.Kat SmithNot happy have had a rash For 3 weeks on my chest and had an appointment to be seen and checked in been here three hrs and people coming in after me are going back Ready to scratch the skin off then it might be an emergencyBabyInc JamzThis place seriously gone downhill. They will have a person waiting hours to see you, while they take Many others back that came AFTER YOU. As if All are Injuries or Health problems Arnt Important too! WTF BANNER.. Also your nurses need a Big attitude adjustment. HUGE! So while your little nurse’s are bickering about thier day, most of us are still not seen from being here for Hours with our poor health. I thought I could trust this hospital because they treated my cancer, but today.. Never againHarold Hurtt⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Other than the long wait time-everything else was fine.Barbara WilsonBeen here twice for same issue. 7.18 and toda . No admitting to use aggressive iv antibiotics. first time on crypto now it’s to see a dermatologist All I want is to clear this up to get back to work. YOU DON’T SEE DOCTORS. YOU GET NURSE ASSISTANTS.Mr. PotatoStill waiting. Been here 8 hours. In pain. Stuck me in a room and haven’t seen anyone yet. This is the most incompetent place I’ve ever seen.Det. DocBefore I begin, I would like to first introduce myself. I am a retired Special Operarions soldier, with a current certified federal EMT certification, and over 10 years federal law enforcement. I am currently an Executive Protection Specialist. Hired by high net worth individuals to safe gaurd their movements. Today I had an unfortunate conversation with the Head Nurse at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix Emergency Room, 1111 E McDowell Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85006 @ approximately 1145 hrs My client had recent non life threatening surgery. I explained to the Head Nurse that I wanted a few extra bandages and medical tape. I also explained that my client had just left a clinic 5 hrs prior to this conversation. Anyone in the medical field knows bandages need to be changed. The Head Nurse asked if any one on the team had medical training. I replied yes I am an EMT. She then told me she can not give any aide without my client being seen by The ER. I explained I don’t seek drugs just bandages a professional courtesy would have been appreciated.. These are my concerns. 1#. If a homeless man can receive treatment at any hospital in America with out ID or insurance,. Why is it that a 100% disabled retired vet turned away for bandages? Not once was I asked about insurance or ways to compensate the hospital. I was just told the hospital can not help and there is a pharmacy down the street. I have been around the world in third world countries and in almost every state our Great Country has and never was I turned away for a refitting of supplies. Normally I sign for them show my credentials and allow a copy of my ID. But instead I was told,” that I could have been the one who hurt my client ” by the ER door rep. This is unsatisfactory. #2 why was I asked if the client had a medic on staff if after given the answer yes , I was still turned down and not one time was I asked to provide my certification to prove if it were I was EMT certified. When asked by the door rep for the contact info for the hospital management email or number I was told the Head Nurse was the Head of the entire hospital and they could not give me any contacts with out going through the same head nurse. I would like to know if this is the standard On my way to my client I waved down a parked ambulance. The EMT gladly gave support and I was able to prepare my client for a long 4 hr movement.Diana Vasquez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI mean, it was a bad time in there, but everyone was nice and helpful. Didn’t have to wait super long.Lisa SpauldingI would like to say 0 stars but there is no option. Took a loved one here to be treated after throwing up and diarrhea for 3 days. Waited 8 hours to have them diagnosed with Gastritis. Within the next 8 hours pain increased 10 fold and had to go back in. On our 2nd trip we waited over 2 hours and the Dr never even came in. The nurse didnt really care what was going on waited 20 min for them to answer a call light. We left without being treated. Hopefully it isn’t more then what was diagnosed. Sadly I am to have a kidney transplant at Banner and am terrified for my life after this experience.J LThis place is absolutely terrible for emergencies. My boyfriend came here because he was brought in here by the paramedics. If you have a choice don’t ever come to this Emergency room unless you’re prepared to wait 2 and a half hours for anyone to show up and actually do anything. When we did receive medical attention the “Doctor” jabbed her fingers into my boyfriend while he was screaming in pain. He had told her that he couldn’t move and that he had a 10 on the pain scale, but she still told him to rollover and move his legs all while smiling at him. It was sickening to watch. She constantly gave an attitude to my boyfriend when he had a complaint about her rough treatment. They also didn’t give him anything for the immense pain he was in for. After the “doctor’s examination’ it took them at least half an hour for them to give hime something. I had to walk out and grab a nurse to get them to come in. The button to call an attendant didn’t do a damn thing. And on top of all that he kept telling the nurses how he had to go to the restroom. We complained about all of this to the head nurse and in the end the most helpful thing she did was toss him a bottle and told him to relieve himself with that. Absolutely degrading. We complained to the head nurse but she stands with her employees even if they’re absolutely terrible. The doctor here is contracted too. So the head nurse can’t reprimand her either. That “Doctor” can pretty much get away with anything. I say “Doctor” because I don’t believe that someone who treats patients so rudely and poorly are truly a doctor. To top it off the “Doctor” said we could leave if we didn’t like her care. We would have if my boyfriend could walk! Something that they are still having trouble getting through their heads. The treatment here was just so rude and they are barely helping with anything. There was only one great nurse who was helpful at all. This was such a terrible experience. They even harassed me and claimed that I was filming my boyfriends conversation with the physical therapist. It was unsettling how he was paying more attention to me playing on my phone than my boyfriend whom he was speaking with. we were promised an xray since he came in around 2:40. It’s 6:31 and they still havent given him an xray. It’s not like the emergency room is busy at all. There are nurses just sitting around and chatting with their coworkers. No wonder this place is rated so badly. They also gaurs their pain medication with their life because so many patients in the past have ruined it for others. We didn’t leave here until 9 and by then they were trying to push us out of there. This was just an overall terrible experience.Ryan Borden⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCame in after the fire trucks got my son stable, had a gash on his head. They got him right in and the staff was very nice and helpful. The Dr was great. Had to get staples in his head and they sorted him up pretty fast for an ER.Ronaldo MontesThis hospital doesn’t have the patient by part of doctors and nurses they will keep you sit down until someone could pray for your life or end while you’re still there sick or with pain scales. ♂️❌ devin richardson6 people in the emergency room when we walked in and it’s been 2 hours until we get seen. So much for an emergency room… DO NOT GO HEREStephanie FernandesFirst off, I will state that I am a current healthcare employee of a hospital who has a Doctorate and has completed a Residency. With that being said (with pre-existing advanced healthcare knowledge + sister who is an Urgent Care PA + a brother who is a hospitalist), this ER experience with Dr. D. P. was severely disappointing and made me feel embarrassed to be associated with this hospital. I came in to the ER after experiencing abdominal pain, fever and chills the night before. Dr. P. came in and did not perform an appropriate abdominal palpation exam to check for classic signs such as rebound tenderness, etc. He also did not listen to my heart or bowels. He decided to do a blood test to follow up w/ by s/s of rectal bleeding. He however did not bother to do a CBC or differential to check for important things, such as an infection. He only ran a blood test for kidney function, hemoglobin + hematocrit. He did not listen or acknowledge my secondary complains of fever + rigors. When I asked him about my possible source of my fever + rigors, he stated it was due to upper respiratory virus I was getting over from last week. I as a healthcare professional know it is the number one rule to always listen to your patient. I made no mention of ever having an upper respiratory infection. Nor did I ever say I had issues with cough and/or congestion. That was an highly baseless and uneducated response. Orthostatics were also taken incorrectly by the medical technician. You must wait 3-5 min after a positional change to recheck all basic vitals. My orthostatics from seated to standing were taken immediately. Due to it being taken incorrectly, my HR showed a jump in 20 beats from seated to standing which would categorize me as orthostatic. Despite my HR being “orthostatic,” Dr. P. was willing to d/c me home and stated I should drink more fluids at home. He even acknowledged I was on the border of being orthostatic. Number one rule of patient care, never d/c a patient who is symptomatic. That is a high liability factor. Despite me verbalizing to the doctor that I drink a glass of water every hour, he continued to offer a rebuttal and stated he can see that I do not by a rectal exam that was performed. He then proceeded to go ahead with the d/c without verbalizing to the patient any of the blood test results. I had to ask the RN who was giving me my d/c paperwork, what the blood test results were because nothing was verbalized to me. I consulted with my brother and sister after discharge and they were both appalled by the level of care provided and they both stated that the amount of blood work he did and testing was inadequate and sub-par. I then proceeded to go straight to Mayo Clinic ER where the level of care I received there was OUTSTANDING and PHENOMENAL. There is a big reason why Mayo is ranked one of the best hospitals in the nation for years. Mayo is very picky with the type of healthcare professionals they hire, since they go for quality. The ED doc was thorough and had excellent patient care skills. She completed all appropriate exams + tests to find out the root cause of my s/s. The medical technicians also completed my orthostatics correctly. Overall, I am very shocked with the poor quality of care I got being on the side of the patient for once at Banner University ER. I would not recommendShelly Reeves⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI really wanted to say thank you to that wonderful doctor in ccu back in 2013to2114Flora GarciaWorst place ever I’ve bee waiting for 3 hours and they haven’t called me in employees are just sitting are kind doing nothing just talkingEmily DowlingDo not bring your infants here, they will kill them. I brought my 7 month old son into the Banner University ER, he was unresponsive, vomiting profusely, pale in color, and screaming in pain every 20 minutes. When my son would vomit he would stop breathing – when this happened I looked at my husband and said, “what do I do?” And the triage nurse responded, “what do you mean ‘what do you do?’ Youre the mom. You’re supposed to know” as I was holding my sons limp body, gasping for air. The medical staff did not exam my son at all. They were presented with a shreiking, limp, heaving, and colorless baby and concluded without any exam or bloodwork that it was a stomach bug and to give him pedialyte. Without checking his glucose they brought in an inept IV proctor to give him fluids. I declined and asked to be discharged so we could go to Phoenix Childrens Hospital they responded that it would be pointless as we would just sit and wait as we had been there. After 4 hours of no examinations, no bloodwork, and no improvement they reluctantly transferred us to Phoenix childrens where he was immediately diagnosed with intussusception – a life ending illness if not properly addressed within 48 hours. After a simple Google search of my sons symptoms they were textbook – and the doctors, nurses and staff of Banner University Medical Center are incompetent. They advised us to force feed him fluids and wait it out. Had we followed their instructions, my son would be dead. Do not bring your babies here.Christopher ThorsonAbsolute disregard for pain that the patient is suffering 8stiches but god forbid the Patient request something for painTalks With JasmineBrought my sister to the emergency room, worst mistake ever. Once we were taken to a room the nurse came to put in her needle for the IV which was horrible. When she placed the needle, blood squirted out everywhere and what did she do? She just cleaned it and tapped on the needle that is inside her arm! My sister is complaining of the pain however she’s like, “it’s ok you can move it” when my sister couldn’t even move it without crying. Then they took her to a CT (the person that took her was super nice she was the only reason I even give her 1 star her name was Michelle, so disregard her from the negative). After the CT no one came to speak to us for over 3 hours. When we called the nurse he looked lost and literally said, “I don’t know your information at the top of my head I’ll be back” never came back. After an hour passed I went to the nurse’s station to see what was taking so long the nurse said she would be there in a minute… never came. We called the nurse again he came and we asked again what was taking so long if there was any news but again he had no clue of her information. He came back to dispatch her saying she needs to drink water & meet with her general doctor…. like really 4+ hours just for that???? Horrible That male nurse was absolutely useless when it came to patient compassion and basic patient information.Lisette AcevedoWaited 6 hours for them to not even assess my bf. All they did was let him sit in a chair in pain for 6 hours then to have someone ask him a few questions & prescribe some muscle relaxers because thats what she thinks will fix his pain. Didn’t even touch him.Cindy CasasVery rude and careless nurses and front desk attendees. Also extremely long wait for emergency room. Worst freaking place ever!!!!david adamsThe treatment form the nurse this last three and a half weeks I have been in the hospital is terrible I ask to speak with a nurse manager and I get ignored and they never come to speak with me and I can’t speak with anyone above these floor nurse tonhere my Complaints and here I am sitting here looking to lose my legKristen SpainBeen here almost 2 hours with chest pain getting worse.
