Baptist Medical Center Reviews

Before you go to Baptist Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Jacksonville emergency room think.

Sailorman 76⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedRecent surgical procedure in the Baptist Health Center was performed expertly by dedicated health care professionals. Surgical team worked together seamlessly and successfully completed the task at hand. All facilities were clean and well maintained. From check in to discharge, all interactions were courteous and friendly. Baptist Health is my number one choice for health care!Robert Trent⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was treated for at the Wound Care Clinic and can’t say enough good about the professionalism shown and the great care. The staff is a true team that is a pleasure to be around. I had sought treatment for months at other places and got no where. I was finally referred to the clinic by a really good Baptist Beach podiatrist.leia mckellian⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy experiences with Baptist facilities have been quite positive over the years. I went in last week for 24 hour heart monitor procedure, and the man who set up my monitor was kind and patient, teaching me what I needed to know. He was respectful and helped dissipate my fears relating to another test I still need to do. He even showed me the room and the staff that works in that area. Because of him, my fear/anxiousness has completely vanished! That means a great deal to me.Barbara Miller⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedDr. Hassel at Baptist Heart has been my husband’s cardiologist for many years. We absolutely love him. Whenever my husband needed to have tests or a procedure done at the hospital, the staff was always very friendly and professional and the facilities were top notch. We love Baptist!!!Larry Baxter⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe reception and tech staff were friendly and welcoming. I was treated well and attended to promptly. Highly recommend this facility.Megan Bishop⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI spent 20 days in the hospital in labor and delivery and then 4 days in postpartum and then a few weeks in the NICU. Every single nurse in all of these departments was beyond amazing. I highly recommend this hospital especially for delivery. I always felt like I was a priority and that the nurses and staff actually cared about me and my family.Lonnie Mills⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff was warm compassionate and attentive to the needs and concerns of my family and I. They went the extra mile to make me comfortable and explain to us each step of the process.Mike Majewicz⭐️⭐️My mom is on the 8th floor of the Weaver tower. On Feb 7th at 1:40 pm she had to use the bathroom. She buzzed the nurse and the lady answered “yeah” like she was annoyed. Then nobody came. So I went out in the hallway and found someone and told them she needs assistance and this woman came in with a scowl on her face. She was very short with my mother and talked to her like she was wasting her time. Very rude and disrespectful. It was obvious that the lady hated her job and hated my mother. Right in front of me. My mom said it had been like that most of the time she was here. She said the cna’s are horrible to her. She said the night before a cna yelled at her.Bobbi Erzinger⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Baptist is one of the best hospitals in Jax, different people have different experiences. but for this trip it was very easy and quick.Michele Gagne Mom has an MRA set for 930 am today. Informed to be here at 900am. First, with all the construction going on, finding a parking garage near to where we need to be was ridiculous. No signage to direct you to where to go, parking garage entrances closed….no alternative direction provided. So arriving 45 mins earlier was of no help. Next, we finally arrive at front information desk….no attendent there…. Sign says to call operator for directions…..but no phone! Lol. Not!!! After finding a phone, directed to Registration desk….only one person working at snail pace with 6 people ahead. Now over 10 mins late for MRI and 4 people ahead. Let’s see what this crazy insufficient system has further in store for us! Stay tuned! Ok. Finally, 2 hrs after appointment time, mom goes into be scanned. A special Thanks to Miss Derral at registration to call mom up knowing the MRI appointment time had past and callled her before others….(sorry) or she’d just be giing in. Overall, it’s not the staffs fault, it’s poor administration on controlling the flow process. Construction or not, the signage inside and out should be greatly improoved! I hope someone official actually reads these reviews and acts on these suggestions.Vahdeta Dilic⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBy far, the best hospital I have dealt with. First surgery and it was all so smooth. What others consider a simple procedure, seemed like a life changing event for me since I have never had any parts of my body cut into. The Baptist staff, from primary care doctors to the surgeons, have made me feel comfortable enough that I was not afraid to change into the hospital gown when I arrived. The best nurse was Angela (I wish I remembered her last name). She was my pre op nurse.. WOW! What an amazing individual. Props to my GI doc and surgeon, Alexander Rose. I was up and walking the same night and fully recovered (or at least I felt like I was) in 4 days. Today marks three weeks since my surgery and I have been in a bathing suit and people cant even see my scars. I am so thankful. I would have never followed through if the staff was not as amazing as they were. Its not about the facility but the quality of the people… Baptist has both.Heather Hatcher Everyone is really polite. The food was ok. We waited 5 hours to be discharged.Lauralyn Popp⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWhile I have had many problems with various Baptist facilities over the years, I want to give a 5 STAR shout out to R. Myers in outpatient (Women’s Pavilion) for going above and beyond to help me get a scheduled MRI done in the basement of Baptist downtown. I was scheduled for outpatient, but was not notified their machine was down. I am also very appreciative of Mike in radiology for making it happen. And MANY THANKS to April and Amy for making it a comfortable test!! Thanks!!Jacob Shaw⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedTook very good care of my grandpa who just got off a plane and couldn’t walk. They kept him here until he could get in a rehab facility. All of the nurses, NP, and doctors went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable.Tiara K⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Pretty nice staff very friendly . Informational, knowledgeable. Truly caring about my kids and their care . The Gatorade and snacks they sent us home with was awesome our first visit! Thank you , God bless!J C Baptist Medical Center is shockingly incompetent. Every time I try to go online to pay a bill, my password gets changed, then I get locked out for trying the password for 2 or 3 times. Every time I visit the hospital, which I have to go there as my practitioners are on staff there, there is chaos, rudeness and just incompetence. If you can go elsewhere, do so. Run!Russ Anderson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFrom beginning to end, it was a great experience given the circumstances. Everyone was warm, professional and competent. They explained things every step of the way and were like clockwork in terms of timing. I highly recommend.phil neal⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI stayed one night in the Baptist Heart Hospital on July 14, 2019 after having a Cardiac Ablation. I must say everyone I encountered throughout my entire stay was most professional and projected the most positive attitudes of any hospital I have ever visited. Special recognition is given to Lourdes, RN (7P-7A) and Regina, CNA (7P-7A) for the outstanding care they provided me overnight. It is rare when a hospital stay is made into a pleasurable (as can be) experience. These ladies made that happen. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone.Rachel Allan⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEveryone that I came in contact with begin ing with the scheduler to the sonographer were so nice and welcoming. I felt very comfortable the entire time!!!Bethanie Brymer I AM Absolutely LIVID with the lack of respect of the nurses and doctors at Baptist down town. My grandfather should not have to call me to come take him home because they haven’t fed him in 4 days. Before he came home he was starved for 8 days. It shouldn’t take me or Dustin to come up there to get my grandfather food. It shouldn’t take him crying to us that he hasnt been fed to get someone to do their job. That was the absolute worst staff and the worst attitude from the nurses on duty. He is sick and tired and has lost so much weight its ridiculous. I seriously can’t believe this is how they treat the elderly when no one is looking. AND THEY DIDNT EVEN DO WHAT HE CAME BACK TO DO!Exclusive Generosity Worse doctors ever! My wife and I went to the ER asking help for anxiety and they labwled her as baker act. My wife was deployed suffering from separation anxiety. Now shes in the hospital, ptsd is kicking in, and anxiety and we keep explaining to the doctor that she wonr harm herself. All we wanted was to go home and rest and stay with our cat. This is abuse and I read so ammy articles about Baker Act Abuse! They are making situation worse for my wife. someone please help!!!!!!ZrodChopShop 33 Learning the hard way Baptist will side with the best interest of the guardian regardless of the health of the patient. We need months of rehab to get him back on his feet and the hospital can care less sending him home in very poor condition. SHAME ON YOU BAPIST!Lorene Berry⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOne of the best hospitals. The staff was amazing and took very good care of my father in law.Yamileth Castro⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I’ve been lucky enough to have nice wonderful and mainly Caring staff. My ACP Claudette is Awesome. Constantly checking on me and anything I need she gets it for me right away w/o any attitude or ugly faces. My RN Susana is also wonderful.Anthony Mixon The ER Should Up Grade There Tv’s One Remote For All These Tv’s And They Find One Is Crazy Paula Mayo ER wait is not 31 mins. I been sitting in waiting room 5 hours .. Some of the nurses are rude. Came in with chest pains and shortness of breath and still haven’t been seen by doctor.Jay Humphrey Worst service ever. Been in the waiting room over 15 hours. Hospital is understaffed. Restrooms dirty.Ronald Clark Hope I don’t die in the emergency waiting room been here since 2pmShawn Ruth⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy experience at Baptist is one of Awesome satisfaction! My ENT Doctor Scott Scharer is very professional. He explains everything in comprehensive detail. The staff is and were caring, detailed, professional, patient with me as a patient…lol, and gentle with my care, and I have and had a great view of the Acosta Bridge, the One Call bldg, the Main St Bridge, the helicopter pad, and my car parked on the rooftop; all beautifully lit up at night. I would like to say thank you All and I appreciate you!Alicia D⭐️⭐️⭐️I really don’t like to write a review based on 1 experience, but I’m going to. It’s currently 7:35am. My family arrived around 1:05am and had to wait over an hour to be seen. After getting in the triage the night nurse was more concerned about being written up than checking on her patient’s. We saw this lady 2 or 3x (once when I went to the hall restroom) before she got off at 7am. She and the charge nurse was having an issue. After waking up in the freezing room, we called for the nurse to see what was taking so long. She comes in, collects a specimen that she should have gotten hours prior, didn’t say anything about the delay and left. The Dr. was no better. She too came in twice, which I know can be normal practice. Once to ask questions, after we sat for too damn long, then again to give results from the specimen and CAT scan. I’m not in the field, but I know plenty who are and have been around plenty to know that they spend too much time doing other sh*t when they can be getting people in and out of the cold behind ER. We do NOT plan to come back to this ER. Hell, we could have gone to Shands over this. We like Baptist, but we’ll take the extra miles to Baptist south if needed in the future (prayerfully not). I’m so tired that I’m not saying everything. My spouse and I had our infant with us. We didn’t want to wake family to watch our baby and we didn’t expect to be here for so looking. Now, we’re waiting for discharge papers and that seems to be taking another 2 hours. I left and told my spouse to walk out as well, but he’s still not feeling his best. I gave 3 stars solely because I’ve liked the facility in the past. Most hospitals in Jax, are not that th This place DOES NOT DESERVE 1 STAR. It took “Dr.” John Chauvin 5 hours to write order for cough syrup which helped to controlled patient’s nagging cough and therefore helped to lessen bleeding that the patient admitted to ER via ambulance. And he also refused treatments that the patient asked such as iron transfusion because patient was symptomatic with syncope and tachycardia. The patient has continued heavily bleeding for 2 days since admitted to hospital to almost to death with a Hgb of 5.9 with with heart rate in 115 beat per minutes. And “Dr.” TIFFANY MASSEY ordered the nurse to continue poking the patient for more labs to check CBCs while the patient continues bleeding and waiting to die due to severe blood loss without any treatment. Hello! “dr” Massey, you should expect patient’s CBCs would get worse if she continue bleeding and without any treatment!!! Common sense!!! “Dr.” massey never even saw the patient for 1 minute who was in such critical condition. In the morning another Spanish doctor came in and saved my life with 3 units of blood transfusion stat and iron transfusion. What kind of “doctor” is this? Patient has been bleeding continuously for 2 days and Hgb of 5.9 and dying; this “doctor” ordered the nurse to “monitor” and never even checked on the patients once????? I was dying under her care and I was never even saw her face for 1 minute. Later, I found out she graduated from a medical school in a Caribbean island for 5 years!!! She is an incompetent, negligent “doctor” and she is without conscience. It took me a very long time to recover from this. I wonder if she treats other non white patients like she had treated me??? After that this hospital’s emergency department sent my bill directly to the debt collector without any notifications. Patient’s credit score drops more than 150 points and patient was harassed continuously by the debt collector. It took me multiple times to get a hold of the “patient advocate” woman was was not only helpful, but defended and made excuses. She even said anyone could write any reviews online, it is not valid. This place is beyond terrible. Such a backward place and a place without any compassion and care! It took me a long time to cover from harm that these people caused to me for coming here to get “health care” . What a joke!!!Mommy Traina outpatient surgery . 12/28/18 . Places to eat close to early should stay open until midnight. Nurse didn’t get the IV in properly , next nurse that came complained made him come back and redo it. My husband is diabetic and had not eaten since breakfast was told he needed to stay with me because they would be moving me and he would not be able to find me. O.R. nurse complained non stop about how incompetent the nurses were upstairs . O.R nurse bed side manner was very negative toward patients in the O.R O.R nurse told my husband to wait until they took me back for surgery and then he could leave. He complained to me and the other nurses that my Dr was running over on the surgery he was currently performing. Said if Dr was not finished with the surgery at 5 p.m they would kick him out of the operating room. Now it is coming up on 5 and OR nurse tells my husband that he is trying to find a place to put me so he can go home and if he leaves he may not be able to find me. He started calling around to different departments asking them if he could dump his patient (me) on them ( his words). So he could go home to start his family vacation at Disney. He called recovery , they told him he could park me over there. My surgery was scheduled for 3:45 . Surgery didn’t start until 7:30. Anesthesia Dr was very polite and calm talking to me before surgery. After surgery i went back to recovery. Female nurse at station was very negative kept yelling at me that she was not staying there all night and I needed to hurry up and come out of the anesthesia . They gave me to much anesthesia during the surgery. And I was having trouble coming out of anesthesia. They stopped my IV in recovery. I asked for my husband and she told me no . She called around trying to find somewhere to put me , so she could go home. She tried to get me admitted upstairs to a room so she could go home. They acted like it was my fault they were understaffed. The male nurse went and got my husband and brought him into recovery. Remember my husband who is diabetic still has not eaten because he is to concerned with all the drama going on to leave my side. The African american male neurologist nurse was awesome very sympathetic and helpful., he restarted my IV and started giving me lots of fluids, and gave me stuff to eat so I could build up strength to go home. The male nurse helped my husband take me to our car to go home. I don’t think I was his patient but I was very thankful for him. On a more positive note the Dr that performed my surgery did an amazing job and my recovery time at home went well , even with followup procedures . Happy with my surgery. Hats off to Dr Iman NaseriSharon Hogan⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Staff explained each portion of each procedure.Duane Hatcher⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’ve never had any problems or complaints with the facility or staff. Every time I’ve had to go our visit they were always professional and well-trained. My opinion the best hospital I’ve ever been to in my 47 years always very professional.Lynnchewning1967⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This is one of the nicest hospitals I have ever been to. I was very comfortable under their care at the Heart Center.Kelly Biastre⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFriendly staff, clean environment. The person at the desk took the time to explain the prices. Most people go to a procedure scared, they don’t know what to expect. The nurses made the experience understandable and made me feel more relaxed because the team doing the procedure explained everything during the process. I highly recommend this office.Carmen Dill⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommendedeveryone at baptist center are very helpfull and courteuos that why i choose baptist over any other medical center ty allMartin Jolly⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy experience with the entire Baptist Heart team was excellent. My care was exceptional from my cardiologist to my surgeons to my nurses and rehab team. Words fail to express fully my appreciation.Anthony Cotugno⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe ICU Staff are all amazing. Hopefully you never meet them.Justin Payne⭐️⭐️The first week everything was just great then the level of care went to next to no visits from nurse’s or theCNA’s just wondering why I don’t get the same treatment as everyone else here . A nurse named Hazel lied about changing my dressing on my foot. I think it was because she had a student nurse with her and was just showing her how to do the bare minimum and how to just get through the day at work I guess !! Then they don’t care about what you want whether it is the food from dietary I was told several times that they would call to get my order for food but just brought me what they wanted to bring me!!! I don’t have any plans for coming back here if I got to be hospitalized again!!! So think about it before you just go to the emergency room!!! Especially Baptist hospital downtown.Jason Edwards⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe team here at Baptist is very helpful and work fast in assisting their patients here in the pediatrics section.Denise Taylor⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe staff was very friendly and courteous. I had issues with my ride and they were very helpful and acccomodating when i was finally able to get there. I am hard of hearing and the tech was very good at looking at me, so i was able to read his lips. When i was unable to finish test, he was very nice and took very good care of me. I would DEFINITELY use this facility again.Aquiles Pecchio⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI like everything, the place is nice, clean, all the staff from the reception until the doctors nurses are very kind professionals and willing to help me. VERY VERY satisfied and pleased with all the services received at the center.Dana Neumann⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAll of the staff here from the doctors, nurses/assistants to the kitchen and housekeepers were extremely helpful and compassionate of our family’s situation. We came through labor and delivery. It was nothing less than 5 stars from the beginning. I would recommend Baptist downtown to anyone. Every person was a great big heart ready to serve.Kim Simmons⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommendedsuper nice nursesBobby Deal⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHighly recommend Baptist Medical Center Cardiac Testing. The Staff is professional, knowledgeable, pleasant and very thorough. The office is clean, well equipped and easily accessible.Lil Hendy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had cardiac testing at the University Blvd location. The parking is easily accessible. The staff is very friendly and professional. The technician explains what she was doing, approximate time it would take to completion, and even reasons she had me change positions frequently. I would definitely recommend this site for future testing.Melissa DeWitt⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEasy to get an appointment. No fuss, didn’t have to wait weeks to be seen. Staff is very friendly, yet professional. Not a long wait time to see the doctor. Dr. Zamora’s M.A. is efficient and always has a smile! Doctor was on time and took the time to listen and answer all my questions.Captain Sapphire⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy mother needed to have a couple proceedures done. There are only 3 doctors in the US who treat her condition and 1 is at this hospital. This place was like the twilight zone. Every single person we came in contact with from Surgeons to house keeping was truely amazing! They all seemed to love their jobs and truely cared about their patients. Our room was in tower 7B. It was very very small and underwhelming but that didnt matter because what the room lacked in decoration, the view made up for in aces. Everyroom seemed to be full but i would have never known as the staff made us feel like their top priority. They listened, they took action, they made things happen. They even hugged us as we left, and not just 1 of them but 3 of them did. I would not hesitate to use this hospital again. I give them 5 stars and 1,000,000 likes! As Told By Jen This place is disgusting and an embarrassment to the medical facilities of Jacksonville. I came all the way from Orlando to visit my uncle only to see that they left him unkept and uncared for in a dirty environment. He was completely neglected, needles and wrappers left open ON HIS BED, full pee bag on his bedside, it was traumatic and ridiculous to see him in that condition. If you have a loved one that is incapable of caring for themselves I DO NOT RECOMMEND IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM bringing them to this hospital. My own father said he wouldn’t even bring a dog for care here. God bless.David Dieter⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had an echocardiogram at the Cardiac Testing Dept. Although I arrived early, I was seen immediately. Kathy did an excellent job putting me at ease and allowing me to see the images and ask questions about what I was seeing.Jace Thomas The lady on the 10th floor Weaver tower named Dawn works in the ICU she is so rude and nasty any time I call and ask questions about my mother she will sit there and text on her phone and look at you crazy and say I’m not her nurse can’t help sorry that is certainly unprofessional and uncaring She won’t even find me someone who can help me she has no compassion or empathy for families I want someone to know about her behavior and for her to work in intensive Care I think that’s sad she is like this she is a nasty person and doesn’t act like she wants to work maybe she should be in triage because the icu is very serious and I received no apologies or concernsRita Jackson Some of the 5 star reviews were for the art work and view . Weaver 7th floor. Poor basis care . RN said I wouldn’t want my parent to be treated like that. Couldn’t be hooked to monitor because no clean leads . Worked at Baptist south . Leads are quick and easy to clean. Pure laziness . Too many complaints to write. Many 1 stars were written by people in health care . Feel sorry for those with no family or who don’t know good from bad care. Most nurses go into health care because good pay job for women especially.Christopher Fischer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am still in recovering, and have lots of appointments and care visits to go, but I wanted to say, Thankyou to each and every staff member from Dr.s to the hospital cleaning and nutrition staff for their professionalism , their patience, their love and care for helping me get through my problem. I walked in that hospital with my wife and I was a complete, incoherent mess due to an infection in the blood. After a time, I was able to be released from the hospital with my life still ahead of me. Thank you all! Thank. You.. All !!!!!Priscilla Staley Horrible. Lost track of majority of patients including me. It shouldn’t take 5 hrs to be released. Lack of communication.Michael Lee⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️My family and i have had some experience here, unfortunately. Always clean mostly pleasant and kind staff. But not all that’s for sure.Michelle Purdy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat doctors. Great stroke protocol program.snowflake midnight⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWonderful experience with all the staff. Nice attentive and great patient care. Like someone could be dying and their just like please have a seat…..? They are always to understaffed and they know it to, they’ve know it for the longest and still does nothing to change that!Brian D⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEasy process of getting checked in and familiar faces – always the same group of people working year after year.
