Todd Osborne The “wait time” advertised online is no where near accurate. Drove way out of the way to be seen rapidly (wait times 18 min) for a broken arm on an eight year old. After 3 hrs we were still waiting and had only seen 3 people leave. Im aware that emergencies take priority but no ambulances arriving or anything so why the long wait? Maybe they only have one person on duty – not the best idea for a Friday night. Being the most respected children’s hospital I had high hopes but this place needs better management or at least truthful advertising.EMS NEL⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis place right here is probably one of the best emergency rooms I EVER walked into and I don’t even live in FL. I was about to give up on Florida altogether and try to somehow make it home. Pray I didn’t die along the way. It was my 3rd hospital and I was desperately trying to get help. They went way above and beyond my expectations and ran every test! They figured out what was wrong with me when the other 2 hospitals failed. Thank you.Tigist Degu I went to Baptist ER for an emergency today. The front desk lady was nice. After competing my registration she told me to sit and wait for my turn. After about 45 minutes of stay I was called by a nurse and taken to a room. The nurse in the room couldn’t care less about my symptoms. To my dismay she asked me what my weight was. What kind of ER doesn’t have a weighing machine? After less than 2 minutes conversation she told me to wait in the lobby. After 2 hours of wait in the lobby I was having a severe headache and couldn’t wait any longer. When I talked to front desk they said they will send me a bill for the nurse visit, which was literally less than 2 minutes. This is the most ridiculous ER visit so far. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. I would give it 0 star if I can.K Scott We were sent here by our pediatrician that evening with “STAT” scripts in hand for x-rays and an EKG for our 9-yr old. (*STAT: A common medical abbreviation for urgent or rush. From the Latin word statum, meaning ‘immediately.) – There were only 2 other guests in the lobby at the time, so there did not appear to be many people there when we first arrived and they said “we should have you in and out”…..2.5 hours later we were finally being seen for 2 xrays. They refused the EKG our doctor ordered stating “they don’t have one”. At an ER you don’t have an EKG machine?? I called the other Wolfson’s location downtown and they apologized stating they have no idea why they would say that. We will never go back to this hospital. An outpatient service with “STAT” scripts in hand should never be treated differently, especially when an EKG for a HEART ISSUE is for a CHILD!Jennifer Courson This place refused care to me and my daughter. She had an earring stuck in her ear lobe and the dr looked at it for 2 seconds walked out of the room and told me to call Nemours which tried scheduling me for 7 days later. I called the manager and got no where qith both places. Co.pletely ridiculous when no over the phone or the dr right im front of me wouldnt even know the issue without examining my child. I got NO antibiotics , nothing. They take the time to listen and throughly evaluate the kids. This facility is my first choice to go to always. So glad this location has opened .suli FL They are really slow they sont care about the patients they just take you in the room that’s it the doctor came Literally after 3 hours just to do a xray on my finger then took another 3 hours to come see me after the xrays…definently i do not recommend coming here….Nithya Venkatesh Went to the ER with my 2yr old son to get checked for his fever and consistent cough. The nurses checked him in and took his vitals and ordered for the FLU test and asked to wait for the results(45 min) which ended up in 2hrs and 20min. Finally the Doctor comes in and checks for his ears and says he has an infection and could hear some light wheezing and asked for the x-rays. Gone for 30 mins again and later with the results could even come in, the respiratory specialist comes in and says he needs this nebulizer to clear his lungs to help him breath better. Comes the doctor again after a few minutes and says he had to check on other patients and forgot to mention notes on my son’s file. He goes back and says oh I’m sorry I didn’t know that a flu test was ordered and x-ray wasn’t needed. We were shocked by his response and tells us that he’s tested positive for the flu..starts talking about the medication and follow up. While about to leave he comes back again and tells- small correction, the results for flu is negative! That was IT for us! The doctor wasn’t clearly paying any attention to us and was ignorant enough to order tests that was totally not necessary! Clearly he was not concerned that we were the terrified parents. The entire wait was not even the worth the pain my baby was in! Terrible attiqute and the doctor doesn’t know what he was doing!Danielle Storley Went to the emergency when my son was a couple weeks old. He wouldn’t sleep and cried all the time. We were out of our minds with exhaustion and saw this as a last result for answers. We stayed pretty much overnight and one xray later was told that he had a lot of gas in his tummy and he was colic. I knew that diagnoses wasn’t right. The doctor didn’t really seem to care and didn’t ask us many questions and told us to leave….we went to see our pediatrician in the morning and was told by the head of the practice my son has an extreme case of acid reflux. We were finally given an answer but I felt if the doctor cared enough to ask more questions she might have been able to help us sooner.ramya priyanka Our 5 year old daughter got a cut on her knee a couple of weeks ago and Dr.Patel was very sensitive to understand her pain and did the job just right. We went back today today to get her stitches removed. Dr.Hart walked in to attend our daughter. She was scared and began to cry. He tried to calm her down a couple of times and just walked out of the room saying that she is hysterical and will not do anything until she calms down.His nurse practitioner April came in and got her stitches removed in like 10mins. She has been very patient and was great with my kid. Visited the hospital for my daughters CT scan. The building is very new, clean, well decorated to bring a sense of calm, with its sea theme… Checking was quick, everyone we spoke with was pleasant and professional. They provided all the paperwork promptly, and were genuinely concerned with her condition. I would highly recommend this facility and the doctors that staff this medical center. United healthcare insurance does not accept them in network. Almost all of our other doctors are Baptist doctors so we didn’t even second-guess going here. Normally, it’s whatever but having my sweet child inside my belly I wanted to make sure whatever I had wasn’t effecting her, and that I was going to be okay. The male nurse on duty degrated me and had me In tears. Since “everyone was getting sick” I was “wasting my time” not a single test was done at this point. I went to another hospital and was diagnosed with the flu. Very dangerous in pregnancy. He was so rude and I cried, and cried. I ran out of there crying, and hurt how I was treated. Can’t recall his name but his bedside manner was terrible. Just terrible. Never went back again.Ekaterina Golovneva Took my daughter with high fever and had to wait to be seen for over an hour. And then spent almost 5 hours overall. After my daughter couldn’t stay calm and quiet anymore and started historically crying we went out to ask how long to wait. We were told that we have to wait, they r very busy, someone will be with you shortly.. and guess what.. no one even came until we came out of the freezing room again.. the whole experience was not very pleasing.. we were seen by 4 nurses before doctor just came right before discharge, and every nurse was asking the same questions… really???!?! Don’t you put any records in your system. Two hours later, a supervisor (who had seen us waiting for quite some time after everyone else in the waiting room had already been seen) asked us if we had been registered. When I stated that we had checked in with Mike J at the desk and had shown him our paperwork, she again asked if we had been registered. When I repeated that we had checked in with Mike J., she took our paperwork to Mike J. 15 minutes later, Mike J walked over and said that they were “very busy in the back.” When I told him that we had been waiting over 2 hours already and were about to leave, he went to the back and suddenly determined that our paperwork from the doctor was incorrect. The paperwork said we needed a “left wrist” x-ray for bone age when apparently it needed to say “left hand.” I am unsure why this information wasn’t determined at 9:15am, when I checked my daughter in, rather than at 11:30am when everyone essential was at lunch. We left at 11:45am having wasted nearly 3 hours of our time. This location is also unable to do labwork for chromosomal microarrays, so just do yourselves a favor and head straight to Wolfson’s Downtown rather than wasting your time at this location. I am not generally a negative person and I do not typically write 1 star reviews, but when a business doesn’t get it right, I am obligated to let other people know. I will never use this establishment again. Thank you to the supervisor who recognized that we had been neglected. Went in to be seen in the middle of the night over the weekend with severe pain where I have a herniated disc, because I’m not considered a medical emergency they said they couldn’t do anything for me. If I had not gotten a second opinion at a different ER I wouldn’t have found out that I needed immediate surgery. He could have saved me a lot of time and money if he had just done his job correctly and caught the real problem. I shouldn’t have to question my doctors. Lazy doctors won’t be getting paid by me. I’m waiting for a patient advocate to call me back so I can dispute my bills. I will not be coming back to this ER or to any Baptist facilities in the future.April Hawkins I took my 12 yr old daughter to this location after she hurt her feet in a gymnastics accident. The doctor there came in and took one look at the top of her feet and told us they weren’t broken because there wasn’t enough swelling, but he would get an x-ray anyways. He never bothered to even look at her entire foot and the majority of her swelling was on the bottom of her foot. He popped his head back in the door after the x-rays were complete to say that they weren’t broken so she could go ahead and walk on them as soon as she’d like and then he left. When the nurse came in, I asked her if she could have a sprain and how that would be treated. She informed me that she could very well have a sprain and would then need to stay off of it, she was incredibly short with me and I felt like I was being blown off for the second time that evening. We were then sent home with no crutches or anything to help my daughter stay off her foot. This occurred on 02/16/2017 and we ended up having to go through our regular doctor to get help. Now, over 2 months later we are still taking her to appointments at Nemours, she has been through crutches and 2 different kinds of boots, and we are still working to get her healed. However, we were completely blown off at this location and wasted our money to receive no help! The doctor was incredibly rude and refused to take the time to properly treat my child. I took my 1 year old son here Sunday night after having a febrile seizure and every single provider (doctors and nurses) that we had contact with were TERRIBLE. First, the nurse rudely told me that the reason why his fever got so high was because I “didn’t get him a high enough dose of Tylenol”. I told her I had followed the instructions on the label and she was very adamant in saying the problem was just the dosage. My son recently had tubes put in his ears and after letting the doctor know this, he checked both ears and said that they were “perfect”. Not ONE nurse or doctor checked my sons chest, throat, stomach, nothing except his ears and stated that they were perfect. Also, I told the doctor that he had not had one wet diaper all day and his response was “hmmm”. After reiterating the fact that he is not drinking or having wet diapers and I was concerned about that, he said “well I can get some Pedialyte for him and we can see”. While waiting in the room, I looked at my pediatricians office website at their dosage recommendations and saw that it matches up with what I had told them I gave my son. When the nurse returned to our room, I brought this up to her. Her response was “I am just telling you what comes straight from the pharmacy and this is what they recommend” very rudely. Upon leaving the room with my son, the nurse called me over and said she wanted to make sure she gave me the correct dosing information since I had brought it up. Her and another nurse proceeded to argue in front of us on what the correct dose was for my sons weight. The doctor was sitting at a desk behind them reclined in his chair playing on his phone while this was happening. The nurses finally agreed on the proper dosage which was in fact a lower amount that they had written on the discharge paperwork. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and shocked that a facility that specializes in care for CHILDREN could employ providers like the ones I had “caring” for my child, after an already traumatic event for us all with his seizure. To add to all of this, I followed the discharge instructions and followed up with his pediatrician the next day. We were given an appointment within the hour. The Dr. at our pediatricians office checked his ears and IMMEDIATELY said that it appears that one of his ears where he just got his tubes put in has a blockage of some sort that is causing an infection. Yet the Dr. at this facility told us very quickly that his ears were “perfect”. I would highly suggest NO ONE taking their child to this facility and I am sure I cannot be the only one that has had a similar experience here. My child is my life and their blatant disregard for his care is shameful and I would hate to see another family feel the same way after a visit here.
