Before you go to Beaumont Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Troy emergency room think.
Mario LWas at the ER for a pill stuck in my esophagus. Was given triage quickly then waited and waited and waited and waited and …………….. The pill finally passed on its own no thanks to the ER room at Beaumont. I left without ever seeing a doctor. As far as a hospital, they are top notch. But stay out of the emergency room if you can avoid it!Carl Spackler8 plus hour emergency room wait for a broken ankle. Do NOT go there. It may be shiny and new but don’t let that fool you. No updates, zero help. Zero concern. We were told by staff it’s been like this for months. Terrible experience. I had been warned by a neighbor not to go. Never again…SHANTEL HOLTZCLAWWent to the ER at Beaumont. Terrible back pain with tailbone and sciatica pain. Begged Dr. John B. Neumann (ER doctor) for an MRI. But not only would he not do an X-ray or MRI even though my pain level was 8/10. He didn’t give me steroids. He would not do a thorough exam and literally told me I just hurt my back after surgery. Now a month later after another doc did an MRI, I have a huge herniation and need urgent surgery. He didn’t do an exam or listen to me at all. Could’ve gotten this diagnosis sooner if had tried to help me except giving me a shot and kicking me out of the ER.Anna NomousNurse ANGIE Schafhauser? IS RUDE!!!! Completely rude. Has an attitude and made my loved one very uncomfortable 🙁 good hospital, but the one nurse was rude.Kimberly ZaleskiI’m sure my 1 star review will fall into the mix of other 1 star reviews. However, this will not be about wait times for a room or timeliness of pain meds or the taste of the Turkey sandwich…all of which we did no need as a family. My 1 star review comes from the underwhelming resuscitation of my Mother in the Emergency Department and terrible bedside manner of Dr. Dennis in the ED. My mother was in the ED about 2 weeks ago (I’ve given myself time so as to not have an entirely emotional review). I live a distance away from the ED but was able to offer insight over the phone as to what may be going on with her. It was determined that my Mother would be treated for Sepsis and that stroke was ruled out. Sepsis is a condition that carries higher morbidity and mortality than the average heart attack or stroke in the United States. By time I arrived 3 hours later, my Mom had received no more than 500 ml of IV fluid, no antibiotics, and was hypoglycemic with a blood pressure in the 70s and heart rate in the 130s. She was in a dark room all alone. Its patients like this that die without an advocate. I met with Dr. Drnnis who gave me about 1 minute of his time and when I asked for diagnostic results or lab results his response was simply that he had more patients to see and left. My Mom subsequently suffered in the ICU over the next week and was intubated the next day, I believe due in part to the lack of treatment the night before.Shawn McGuireAbsolutely disgraceful! Been waiting for over 2 hours in severe pain. No pain meds….I still have 15 people in front of me. I am probably here for emergency surgery. No one cares…just get in line. Hope I make it out alive!!elfhammergamingTook my girlfriend here as told too. Got to the er and got taken back pretty quickly than was told that we are getting mri at 2 pm never got one. She was given something for her spinal headache didn’t help her. She called the nurse to come help her with her iv so she could go to the bathroom no one came the responding nurse canceled our call because no one had seen us for 3 hours. That’s was after being there for 6 hour this place is a joke no one told us that she would have to stay over night. Once she went up to her room and the dr never order her meds never told her she was staying overRachskullI would give zero stars if I could. I’ve been to this ER twice. 1st with terrible stomach pains. I hate hospitals. It took me several days to finally go in. After researching my symptoms, I was confident that I had diverticulitis. I explained this and was told I was to young (36). Dr. was so arrogant and rude and refused to do any imaging and said to follow-up with Gyno because he said it was probably Pelvic inflammatory Disease!!! There was no way this was what it was. I begged for a CT scan. He adamantly refused. Pain was an 8 out of 10 when he discharged me. Next day, passed out at work and was transferred to Henry Ford via ambulance and guess what? I had diverticulitis and was admitted for 1 week and was very close to a bowel perforation. The 2nd time I went to this ER I was impaled in the foot by a piece of copper wire by my lawn mower. It was lodged 4 cm into my foot. The PA immediately said I needed surgery and went to call on-call Ortho. He refused to come in and said to discharge me home on opioids and he would see me in the office on Friday. It was Monday night!!!! Pain was 9 out of 10 when I was discharged. The next morning my foot was much worse as I had a dirty foreign body in there. Went to Henry Ford and was taken into EMERGENCY surgery because it was now extremely infected and had cellulitis. Surgeon said I could of lost my foot if I waited. He had to leave incision open and packed it to allow infection to drain. Non- weight bearing for at least one week. The drs in Beaumont ER are a disgrace! I, nor any of my loved ones, will ever go back there!!Chris Cozzathe doctor was very arrogant and dismissive. did not get proper treatment there. was not even hooked up to an iv. they just wanted me to do tests and leave. terrible service, wbc was high and ofc that was dismissed.gayle buryI was supposed to have Surgery for a bunionectomy on Tuesday 10-8-19. I was taken back to pre op and everything was going well. After my Surgeon got there, everything went down hill. Dr. West went into OR and found the correct equipment was not there. He needed a certain blade to do the procedure and it was not there. It seems no one could find the correct equipment. Then the representative that was also in OR ask doc if he was operating on a man or woman. I am definitely a female yet the name Douglas was on the board in OR. That was when my surgeon got upset and came to me to cancel the surgery. He took pictures of all the errors and spoke to someone in the administration office but no one seemed to care. He said he had a bad feeling because of errors. He didn’t want to do surgery there ever. I went to St. John surgical center today 10-14-19 and everything was amazing. My surgeon did go looking for equipment after surgery was cancelled he did tell someone to go to area A. Supposedly no one could find it. When he went to A he said there it was. This was taking care of a human being. Not the wrong food on a shelf. I have made sure everyone I come in contact with I let them know what a joke Troy Beaumont is. My surgeon will never go back there nor will any of my family or friends. What is worse is this was a week ago do you think anyone called me to apologize. Of course not. I worked in retail and was a manager. If something didn’t go right one of the managers would contact the guest apologize and try to rectify their concerns. An apology wouldn’t change my mind but it would have been nice to see that someone there actually cared. God knows what could have happened, God only knows. I wouldn’t take an animal there.Bakil HassanIt’s a very bad er to go to I been here since the morning. it’s almost 12:00pm you ask questions the answers for all the questions I DONT KNOWLyndsey Lindsay⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe have had to take both of our children to the Pediatric ER. The first was RSV for our 5 month old and the second was a bad fall for our 3 year old. BOTH times, they got us in with urgency, treated us and our kids wonderfully, and got us home as soon as they could. Gave us a ton of tips on caring for them at home and really just made us feel great all around, especially considering the circumstances. I won’t take my kids to any other place – no more urgent cares, just their pediatrician and this place. Tip: They offer a nice discount if you pay your copay upfront, which made the cost equal to urgent care for us.Noor NajimI can’t believe how money driven Beaumont is they kept on asking me to do tests that are not even related to why I went in. They knew about another problem that I had shortly after I came in but no one said anything and kept me there for 14 hours waiting for all kinds of test when they already knew what I had. There was a long wait for everything and this was at the emergency center where things should move fast. At the end they could not have any answers to my original health problem after multiple, ultrasound, blood work and a cat scan still they said nothing. It’s really unfortunate how at the hospital where sick people seek help are seen as dollar signs and being taken advantage of during their hardships.AsIfI was sent to the ER by my surgeon. I just had surgery and have an infection. I briefly saw the ER doctor who didn’t believe that I anything wrong. Even though my WBC count was high. I told her I had just had a CT of the location the day before,(which I brought with me), but reorder the test again, along with useless blood cultures, because I was currently on antibiotics. Didn’t order correct blood work or imaging, and didn’t notify my surgeon or my infectious disease doctors, who are both on staff there.. I was discharged in pain, having a Myasthenia gravis attack (from the CT contrast) rolled out alone to the lobby, to wait until my son could get back to the ER. Praying I wouldn’t stop breathing and taking rescue meds to curb the neuromuscular disease:( Hard pass… dangerous place.Aimee DaughertyI went there on a Friday around 1pm. It was busy. I told a PA my symptoms. Then someone else came. They both checked my reflexes. I asked them what was going on.They said I have hypereflexia. I wasn’t in pain. They did blood work but nothing. I couldn’t stand or sit for a long period of time. I had tingling in my feet. I was in the emergency room for a few hours. They didn’t tell me what could be going on. Then a different person said I was going to be admitted. They put in a room. Then more people asked me the same questions. I had to stay overnight. And see the neurologist the next morning. She ordered a mri of cervical and thoracic. I asked why not all of the spine? She said there are no nerves there. I waited all day for the mri then had to stay another night. While waiting I was beginning to think that my symptoms were just in my head. The food was awful. Then they released me even though I still had symptoms. They said they didn’t see anything on the mri so no reason to be there. I was upset they didn’t tell me what were the possible causes and didn’t check for many causes. I saw my general doctor a few days later because I still can’t walk or sit for long periods of time. She gave me a mri for my lumbar. Which I couldn’t get an appointment any time soon. I have to drive 45 minutes from home to get it sooner and it’s at 10:30pm. It was an awful experience.Brenda smithER has the worst wait times. Takes so long to be seen. You will wait in the waiting room for hours . Should have went to Detroit recieving with their 29 minute guarantee to see an ER doc. Beaumont hasnt changed with leaving patients sitting around.Evi HaxhijaI was there for 10 hours..none of the doctors came in. Nobody told me what was going on. And after that 10 hour waiting they said I had nothing to worry about. That was the worst Experience ever. I’ll never go back again molly hatchet“Incompetent” is giving them credit.Lola E⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I always have good experiences hereCarolyn Westgate⭐️⭐️Stay was ok but they want to discharge you so fast, wont wait for my ride to get here so they was going to put me out by the door. Had to pitch a fit to stay in my room.Kim WilliamsThe worst hospital to go to!!!Bob Perrine⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was there last night…my nurse was so caring & the doctor on staff too. 100% better than Wyandotte Hospital !!!
