Before you go to Bronson Methodist Hospital Emergency, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Kalamazoo emergency room think.
Radar⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe best person in the entire ER is Kerry B. In the pharmacy. We asked and asked for something, anything from the nurses to clean the dried and dripping blood off of moms face. When they said they didn’t have anything to give us but the paper towel in the bathroom, Kerry stepped up and went to the back to get us some cloth to clean mom up with. Bathroom paper towel is not sanitary and should not be used on open wounds, people. Thank you to the PA Greg as well for giving Mom the medicine and care she desrately needed.biggranny000⭐️⭐️Was going to do a 5 star review, I had a bicycle accident where my shoulder was dislocated and 2 fractures in my nose, quite a bit of blood too. They popped my shoulder back in place, patched me up, and sent me on my way. Later to find out, I still have very limited range of motion in my shoulder and my scapula is shifted. They did not take xrays of the rest of my shoulder, and missed that my injuries were further. Now I’m jumping through doctors and clinics 6 weeks later to try to get this fixed to no avail.Jessica HunterWaited two hours in the waiting room. Every single person got taken in before me. When I FINALLY got called back I asked if I would be waiting another two hours. The guy had no answer. Now I know I did not have a dangling appendage. But when I can no longer open my right eye due to a migraine and I’ve just sat in a noisy and bright room with doors slamming I’d say I should get some treatment. So I will take my insurance and seek care elsewhere.Zubin BharuchaThis place should not be called Bronson ER. It should be be called Bronson WR – “Waiting Room”. If you have a real emergency, go elsewhere. Cause you will be waiting here for hours. There should be a law against making patients wait for more than 30 min in a real ER. Where is the management looking at this data? And they should only accept real emergencies. Like broken bones, joint dislocations, concussions, appendicitis, heart /organ problems, etc. Real emergencies. These folks who show up with ingrown toenails should be turned away. But its all about profit above patient safety. I would give them zero stars if possible. Avoid this place, unless you are comfortable waiting for hours.David WarrenMy son went in for severe abdominal pain yesterday. He spent 6 hours in the ED, much of it in a hallway as no rooms were available. He had professional attention for no more than 15 minutes during the entire visit. The last 2 hours were spent waiting for the physician to provide test results (that were available for 2 hours earlier) and discharge him. I can’t wait to pay the bill for this less than stellar performance.Beth Swayze⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had the best experience possible at the Bronson emergency room today. I am visiting from out of town but found myself in need of an ER. Everyone from the person who checked me in to the nurses to the attending to the tech were Friendly, helpful, and so professional. While I hope I don’t ever have to go back if I did I would go back to Bronson immediatelyKyler CookMy wife is 9 weeks pregnant and vomiting uncontrollably for 4 hours when we brought her in. The front desk callously tells us to have a seat. I ask if they know how long it will be because my wife is in serious danger. Lady behind the desk, completely unaffected and disassociated, tells me there’s no telling. Could be 4 hours. My wife continues to vomit in the waiting room for two hours. I ask the lady at the desk, and, annoyed with me, she tells me it could be another 4 hours. We ended up driving home and weather the worst sickness of my wife’s life while she was feet away from nausea medication that would have prevented danger to her and our baby. Extremely disappointed in Bronson ER. Hire people that care about the community, and hire more physicians if you can’t handle a workload in a 6 hour turnover. You should be ashamed.Qatif KillersI am not sure if it’s emergency department or not !!! I stay there 4 hours just for waiting! I checked out without seeing a doctor. I can stay at home until morning to go to my doctor, why I went there if I will wait more then 5 hours to get help.Cassie MartinHorrible!! Zero training on Type 1 diabetes. Went here with my 11 yr old. The first thing you need to do to a child with large ketones that is vomiting is hydrate them. It did not happen. Sat in a room in er for over 2.5 hrs and no IV. Dr. was going to send us home with nothing but nausea medicine. If you can get up to Pediatrics they are awesome but you have to go through an entourage of undereducated people to get there.Richard GuritzFast track system is buuuulllllsssshhhh*****tttttSam CorrionI arrived at the ER around 12:00 am with a very swollen neck and throat. After waiting in the waiting room for 2 hours I was taken back. They put me on a bed in the hallway since no rooms were available. I sat there for approximately 2 more hours before receiving any sort of attention. A nurse tested me for strep. The results came back negative. They gave me Motrin and some throat numbing medicine. After sitting there for another 2 hours, I was told to go pick up a prescription and I was handed my discharge papers. At this point it was 7:00 am and I never left the hallway. They never took my blood work to see if I had mono or any other blood related illness. I visited a doctor at Sindecuse the next day and was told I had mono in under 30 minutes. They were certain I had it before even taking my blood work. Bronson messed up in many ways and by prescribing me the wrong medication they made things even worse. Avoid this hospital at all costs.Isaac“We’ll have those X-Rays ready for you in 20-30 minutes.” *3 hours later* “the doctor will be in shortly”Kirk Decker⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had a reaction to infusion therapy and ended up in the ER. Dr. Walbridge, his resident (I’m sorry I can’t remember his name) the nurses and technicians treated me wonderfully. I have been here several times and I’ve never had an issue. Remember, the ER is for potentially life threatening conditions and is not a substitute for your primary care provider. Also, more than likely, if you think your emergency is bad, there is probably someone else there who is in worse shape. Count yourself lucky we have such services…talk with some doctors who travelled to third world countries to volunteer their services. Some of those people waited over a year in hopes of seeing a doctor and they didn’t whine. Thank you to all the folks at the ER department.Chris G⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe only hospital, in the immediate area, that my husband or I will go to.Mary WWent to their emergency room due to a head injury only went here because my drs are from Bronson, but I’ll never go there again. Longest wait time waited five hours overall they couldn’t have been busy since nurses were just roaming around or sitting and talking. Every place has good staff, but the two times I’ve gone it was awful. Overall they were rude and did not listen. Gave me a drug in my IV without even saying what it was. Got sat in a hallway when I had a head injury with a horrid migraine and all I heard the whole time was nurses talking loudly and bright lights just what I needed! No pillow one sheet in a cold hallway ridiculous. RNs cant even get the IV in a vein here somehow other places can. They made me wait five hours to in the end do a pointless test when they originally said I was supposed to do another. When they took the IV out I started feeling faint instead of helping the RN just kept talking to me about getting me discharged when I was becoming nauseous, sweaty, and going white. We witnessed their cleaning staff too I wouldn’t use the linens in the drawers they probably dropped them on the floor!Tim CaffreyDON’T GO TO BATTLE CREEK BRONSON THEY CAN’T EVEN TAKE BLOOD IN THE ER THEY SUCK IF YOU GO THERE YOU WILL DIEBronco FlagsI tried to go in to this ER at about 3:00 a.m. for a Gall Bladder attack with sharp radiating pain that went through my lower back. We are on the outskirts of town, it was a 10 mile drive on bad icy winter roads. I was in agonizing pain upon arrival and the receptionist showed no empathy. She seemed more concerned about her playlist and with kicking out the homeless who where trying to stay warm in the ER on this cold winters night. When they checked us in, they asked what is your pain level? I was at 10 out of 10 and told them that. They sat us down in waiting room without telling us how long it would be before I was seen. After about 20 minutes my wife asked the receptionist how long the wait would be and the receptionist nonchalantly told her it would probably be around 2 hours. Luckily, my wife was smart enough to call competitor hospital Borgess which was an 8 minute drive away and they had no wait. I understand Bronson needs need to make money, but its my opinion that they should have suggested that I try Borgess so I would not have to sit untreated in a waiting room with excruciating pain for a long time. When we said we are leaving and going to Borgess, the receptionist acted surprised and like she didn’t understand why we would do this, no apologies, no let me check and see, nothing, just o.k. leave then. I was able to get right in at Borgess and they helped me with my pain almost immediately despite the fact that all there beds seemed full.Galaxysvenus⭐️⭐️⭐️Quality has gone down a bit since the last time I had to go this ER. Before, I would have given them a 4. Last night, others including myself were treated from the hallway. The nurses were descent. The girl who took my xray was cold and careless. The resident doctor walked right by me twice without telling me the xray results he had already gotten. I got to speak to a doctor who wasn’t a resident for about 1 minute out of the 4-5 hours I was there. I felt forgotten about. Granted, it was a Friday night and I was there for a work related injury in which I though my ankle might have been fractured. It turned out to be a bruised bone. Not once was I given an ice pack, or asked it I wanted a pillow or blanket out in the cold hallway. Sad sight really.Aaron KeyserI had the displeasure of visiting Bronson ER in May. I cut my hand remodeling. The front desk staff were neither friendly nor unfriendly, mostly just apathetic. I was checked in and proceed to wait two hours to be seen. Once finally seen I was treated, but even that took 45 minutes to get my hand glued and get a shot that I declined but was given anyway. The real kicker is, a month later I get a bill from the hospital for $548. When I call the hospital billing department and wait on hold for 25 minutes, I find out the front desk lady didn’t enter in any of my information properly from my insurance card, not even my name! Overall, do not go there unless you feel that you might die, because it is likely to take half your day for no good reason.Tracy Lantis⭐️⭐️I don’t prefer this hospital,I have been to hospital with family members and its ER is disgusting and is always packed there were people laying on couches and in wheelchairs not very nice receptionist either way too crazy and I don’t feel safe outside either just very bad experience every time I goWes Salisbury⭐️⭐️worst place to go to if you have a serious issue. They will run pointless tests that only take up time that could be spent on finding the actual problem. They act like they only care about their paycheckJennifer OttoSitting in the waiting room with my screaming in pain sister in law for literally FOUR hours. This is just bull….after four hours sitting we get to a room. An HOUR later still no doctor…I have no words. If I could I’d rate this a zero. #lividRachel HedinUntenable waits of over four hours are common. Staff unresponsive, angry, burned out. A poor reflection on the hospital which is otherwise good.
