Before you go to Broward Health North, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Pompano Beach emergency room think.
Spencer SSo my son fell off one stair and split in between his head open and was gushing with blood so me and my wife raced over to ER note he is just barely 2. We walk in and fill the paper work out and guess what they made us wait 3 hours for our son to get seen when he needed stitches. The actual nurses inside though are fantastic and tried to make the experience as fun as possible for my son and even gave him a toy truck!!!! I just think kids and elderly should have priority but maybe that’s just me? All I know is not coming back here again and if you have a emergency with your young child make sure to go somewhere else if you need medical attention specially for ER!Dee gold⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAwesome experience here at Emergency Department. After getting the run around from my primary Dr, the ER Dr knew exactly what my diagnosis was with just a glance. Xrays and lab work confirmed and was given medications which provided relief of symptoms. Quick service too, made it to a room within 10 minutes of walk in and discharged within 2.5 hours from arrival. Great staff at every level.Carolyn lee Santoli⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWonderful hospital. All caring and helped me so much. Big shout out to the Cardiologist team and the ER staff.Adriana Ricci⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI can’t say enough great things about this hospital. Dr. Ross from BocaCare Ortho did my hip surgery. I was very nervous arriving to the hospital that morning. From the moment I got there the nursing staff was just incredible. They comforted me and were so kind. They made the process very smooth and I knew I was in good hands. I can’t say enough about the 3rd floor NE wing. When I woke up I was hardly in any pain and the nurses, especially David and Brenda, checked on me constantly. I knew they had so many other patients but you could never tell they weren’t stressed they just did their job with a smile and I knew I was in the right place. I would recommend this hospital to anyone undergoing a surgery and needing time for recovery, the staff here is wonderful.Sakiya Monee1/11/2020 I arrived at 3:43pm, it is now 5:12pm and I still have not seen a Doctor outside of triage. This is the worst ER experience I’ve ever had! I’m currently here in excruciating pain ready to die right here. I’ve been here for over an hour… they tell me I have a fever, know my face is swelling, then send me back to the waiting area. That makes absolutely no sense to me! This neighborhood is predominantly minorities, so are the people waiting to be seen right now. This hospital could care less about the people here. They violate HIPPA laws. The actual ER doctor won’t see anyone unless it’s something that his PA can’t do. When they see you they send you back to the waiting room, then a medical staffer comes to discuss your diagnosis, treatment, and medical history in front of the entire waiting room very loudly! There is no privacy or concerns for patient’s rights! When the lady at the desk was taking information and pictures of myself and others, she was extremely loud and had no concerns about discussing our private information out in the opened for everyone in the waiting area to hear. I need to seek legal advice about this incident, it’s just not right! The staff needs to come up with a better solution than this. They treat people like this because they think less of us. They think that people have to come to this horrible hospital, so why don’t they just do what they want to anyway? A lawsuit a public attention would get the owners to care! I have been to different ERs in Broward, this was truly the worst operation I’ve ever witnessed. They bring you to triage, send you back to the waiting room, back to triage, back to waiting room. The staff at the front desk treated people with absolutely no respect. It was a staff of Caucasians dealing with Black, Hispanic, & non Americans. The level of care was beyond disrespectful and non-existent!Jorge Leon⭐️⭐️My wife and I want to thank all the ER’s staff, Dr. Delgado, the nurses and the insurance guy Leon, they all were patient, polite and great. The second day my wife was admitted into the hospital, we were on the third floor and our nurse was Andrea, she was the most caring and wonderful of them all. Also my thanks to Dr. Mirza’s attention. Everything was good until we had the unpleasant visit of the OBGYN Dr. Anthony Adib Chidiac…. Cantankerous, arrogant, impolite, despicable are a few words to describe this terrible physician. He came in “reeking of alcohol”, yelling and inquiring why did I bring my wife in pain and paying for medical attention, claiming I should have left her at home, because (according to him) unbearable pain was “normal”. He even dared to mention (with terrible bedside manners) that no hospital would admit someone just because she’s in pain… is this true Hospital Managers? Does this arrogan physician’s statement represent Broward Health Hospitals’ opinion and policies?? We went to the Broward Health Imperial Point ER (in our PJ’s) at 2am because my wife was fainting because of an unbearable pain and was having a miscarriage after weeks of being notified by another physician and other ultrasounds that the fetus did not have cardiac activity. This arrogant person came into the hospital room trying to argue with me “because I was willing to pay whatever it cost to have my wife admitted into the hospital for pain management” and his yelling woke my wife up. Why does he even care how much I am willing to pay in order to see my convalescent wife recover? By the way, he did not even know our unborn baby have not had a heart beat for weeks before all the yelling. Nurse Andrea witnessed his imprudence, arrogance and yelling and she can corroborate this story. He does not deserve to have a license to treat ladies and much less to represent a Healthcare Institution because he would ultimately give a bad reputation to the above mentioned medical institution. Please consider other options before coming to this person for attention, and investigate/read online other women’s testimonials about their bad experience with this terrible physician. I have even come to know online that others have started legal actions against him. We would NEVER recommend this physician to anybody! See attached his picture to avoid being treated by this person.Robert WolskyAbsolutely bar none. The worst emergency room I have ever seen. Checked my son in with severe abdominal pain, vomiting etc. An hour later after asking for a bed/ stretcher for him. I found him passed out in the front of the building on the ground. Since they would not care for him. I got him into my vehicle and took him 8 miles away to another hospital. Where he was immediately admitted due to the severity. I invite the hospital to explain.Taylor HolnessThis is the worst hospital. The doctors don’t know what they are doing AT ALL. My wife has been here multiple times and has never had a good experience and the only reason she’s gone here those multiple times is because she was taken via ambulance and had no choice. Her specialist has told her to try not to go here. The staff is completely incompetent and the doctors don’t know their as* from elbow. Trust me do not go here.layla⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am so happy to write this review of Broward North Hospital on Sample Rd in Pompano Beach, FL. I have never experienced such wonderful people anywhere. From the ladies who bring up the food trays, Lenore and her colleagues, to Chu (?) the floor aide who takes blood pressure and is an expert phlebotomist, to the marvelous nurses who really care about their patients – Alyssa, Shawn, Cassidy – and Dr. Guevara who is working hard to help my husband get into rehab and Mary the Social Worker who is so compassionate and Marlene, the physical therapist who really got my husband up and going – I can’t say enough good things. We’ve been at the famous HC hospital – no comparison. I wish I could find the words to say more but there are no more words. Even the lobby receptionists make you feel welcome. And the wonderful personnel in the ER – Tom the nurse, Dr. Loghlan – so understanding. Broward doesn’t preach they do. And without any expectations except to care for the people who show up there. And I almost forgot to mention the delicious food there! Awesome!!! So, now, on the downside, what is about hospitals at night? In order for my husband to get a urinal, he has to call me. I then call the nurse’s station and plead with them to send someone to his room because he can’t get anybody to help him out. This has been the case in every hospital he’s been in and Broward North is no exception. Why is this? Getting the phone number of the nurse’s station is the first thing I do when he gets in his room because I know what will happen during the night shift. Shouldn’t be. One more thing: On my husband’s last night at Broward, the night nurse, Jennifer, treated him very badly. When she had to attach a monitor, she pressed the sticker so hard she left a wound on his sternum. There was no need for this. I have documented the wound and intend to follow up on this. Today my husband and I went to Broward North to speak to someone about his injury at the hands of Jennifer, the night nurse. We met with Mr. Andrew Sinclair from Guest Relations. He wrote everything down and promised it would be investigated and would get back to us. I sent him photos of the injury and asked him not to sweep the whole thing under the rug. I’m sure Broward will do the right thing.Raynond Goldberg⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThank you for helping us get through.Alisha Wells⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have spent a total of 7-8 days in the hospital, on two separate trips. Let’s just say October hasn’t been too fun. Both times, my boyfriend had to rush me to the ER. The first time they wasted no time and took me right in. I was in so much pain and having a very difficult time breathing. Nurse Jill (ER) was an ANGEL both trips. They immediately put me on oxygen and gave me something for the pain, and blood work and several test proved I had a pretty serious issue. I was admitted and moved to the 9th floor. All the staff on the 9th floor or angels straight from heaven! Two nurse still out for me, Luke and Tobby. I was on the verge of a nervous break down because of everything going on. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and checked on me all the time to make sure I was ok. The second trip, again to the ER, the concern was complications on my condition. I was moved to SICU. There Wendy was my day nurse. Again, another Angel. She did everything in her power to make sure I was comfortable and cared for. I swear, the doctors, specialist, and especially the Nurses, are all angels sent from heaven! Definitely trust this hospital and there staff!Billy Combs⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommended9th floor CCU and 5th floor Cardiac Stepdown were both amazing! Those people are angels and cared for my wife with the most care one could give. It was remarkable to get to know all of them. Wife was there for 22 days and them did everything they could every day. The staff went out of their way several times to make my wife’s stay more comfortable. Amazing People, Amazing Staff, Amazing Hospital! Love to all of you wonderful people! Thank you for saving my wife!William 776IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR A GOOD HOSPITAL GO TO CORAL SPRINGS MEDICAL CENTER TRUST ME !! Wow I’ve had a lot of bad experiences with hospitals and I’ve had a lot of great ones as well. This was by far the worst hospital I’ve been to and believe me that’s really saying a lot I’m a real easy going guy even when I’m in pain I went into the emergency room because I kept passing out from exsesive vomiting my father had to take me over cause I couldn’t drive I could barley walk we came over to this hospital cause it was the closest to my home when we got there we were waved at by a security guard working the night shift around 11-12 when we stop our car and asked hey where the emergency room was he just stared at both of us and kept driving in his golf kart I thought maybe he couldn’t hear us I was about 100% sure he did so we backed up yelling to get him to stop he looked back and kept going couldn’t believe that so we had to find it on our own which wasn’t to hard the security guard was working right near it where he was patrolling so it wasn’t too hard to find but once we got in we waited about an hour and nothing no one was moving and when my dad asked how long it would be they told him should be soon he asked again 30 mins later she told him soon at this point I had to lay down outside cause they’re we’re no beds available to wait for a room and honestly i was fine with that I just couldn’t sit up right anymore so I laid down out side and a few people asked if I was ok I told them just waiting nice people and then I guess I passed out cause keep in mind I’m still throwing up every so often I woke up next to my dad telling me they keep telling him soon so he called Coral Springs medical center and they told us they couldn’t assure that there was no wait time but there was no one in the emergency waiting room so we bit the bullet and went over there as soon as I walked in and gave them my name they were all ready doctor and nurses were incredible can’t believe I haven’t been there since I was 9 years old great place.Mojar MamuThere own communication between one department to other department is very poor or level zero. Management needs to little serious about the patient.Mario VillanuevaLong wait but quick charging copayment. Bathroom was dirty and full of blood.GR T⭐️⭐️Went in I went into the emergency room on a Sunday evening I was seen by a doctor name dr. Wilson and it was an awful experience. She did not come and check up on me and said she “thinks” I have kidney stones. She was not 100% sure of the diagnosis she was giving me. She ordered and ultrasound and the nurse was the one who read us the results. Instead of coming in and weeding out what all the possibilities could be she hung out in her office and talked with other colleagues. I went for a second opinion and was told it was my appendix. From this experience I realized that until you have a definitive answer do not leave that emergency room. The doctor was not informative or attentive to me as a patient.Danny Della Justina⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBroward Health North has been my second home in the US, I am doing physiotherapy treatment with a great team. All attentive and very competent. Thank you Monica Dave, Edna M, David Wood and all the wonderful physiotherapists who are helping me in this final stage of my treatment. I will always recommend you!Mary Schmidt⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am a retired RN from nyc.My husband had is hip replacement surgery on March 18th.I want to Thank the entire staff fora job well done. From the time we arrived to the time we left the hospital staff was extremely helpful and professional.Dr Lipman and the OR team are top notch, they explained the whole process and we felt we made the right decision going to Broward health north.they have a entire floor dedicated to joint replacement and it was super clean and organized. The Staff on that floor do an exceptional job. I was waiting and watching to see a mistake being made and it never happened.Great care and professional treatment and a happy staff that work together to create a healing environment.Thank you Broward health north to a job well doneVanessa Anderson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWow!! Very impressed with this hospital . My brother is a patient here. He attend physical therapy. Speech with Sandy, she is so great . I will recommend her to anyone that needs it…Edna Moore has been so wonderful and amazing.. She goes above and beyond the call of duty.. I recommend this hospital .. The staff greatCONSTANCE BELLIf you have a death wish go here.Keith SMy 92 year old mother in law was admitted during a regularly scheduled neurological appointment at the Broward North’s doctor’s recommendation. She was very unstable. The attending/discharge doctor Rodolfo Guevara did not care to treat her fully. After one day of pumping her full of drugs and no improvement in condition Guevara demanded to discharge her; overriding his colleagues who still saw a need for my mother in law to receive care. He was more concerned with turning the bed for a new cash cow than caring for a clearly ill patient. Consulting doctors saw she was still in serious need of help but Guevara showed her the door. He did not provide after care instructions or even a suggestion for future care, his primary concern was to get a seriously ill woman off his floor. His staff threatened us with additional charges and social service reporting instead of helping us to get her proper care. Powerful cruelty.S GArm gushing blood with broken ribs and they hand me a pencil and paperwork and inform me the wait will be hours.TheIsraelite7777Why are all hospitals down here so terrible? I came in because I was having alot of different symptoms that caused me to miss work. I was basically brought in a room doctor came in and seen me almost 2 minutes before walking out. Sat in this room sick af needing stomach medication and was ignored by my nurse for almost two hours. Unbelievable experience im still sitting here waiting for anything.Linda Klimaszewski⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am giving the hospital 5 stars because everything about my ER experience was great, except my doctor. They brought me in to a room quickly, I was examined by a great RN. A CAT scan and blood work was ordered…..While the hospital and ER nurse were extremely attentive, Dr. Chukwuma was not. I was diagnosed by the RN. Dr. Chukwuma came in to my room, yanked the wires off my chest, handed my a urine cup, told me to pee in it. He said that I was having a CAT scan to rule our Kidney stones, he’d give me something for pain, and walked out. I asked where the bathroom was and he didn’t even turn around……..NO EXAM AND NOT ONE QUESTION!, NOT EVEN WHAT IS YOUR PAIN LEVEL!! Then he made me wait 3 hours to be discharge, that was after I spoke to the patient advocate…the ER was NOT busy. I don’t know what he was doing…I got out of bed to try to find him and could not……THEN, HE BILLED ME $1750.00……thank goodness I had a really smart nurse…He forgot his Hippocratic Oath!!!!!Sean Fischer⭐️⭐️TLDR: Go to a different hospital or medical clinic. Two star average of my two experiences with the ER. FIRST TRIP 5 stars. Doc seemed knowledgeable and helpful and reception staff and triage was on point. SECOND TRIP whole different story. No one seemed to know what they were doing. After waiting twice as long as the first visit one week ago, the triage lady called us in to check us out and give us the discharge paperwork…. without knowing that we have not been taken care of yet. Finally we got taken into a room with a dirty sheet on the bed with trash on the floor and not kidding— an open needle kit on the table. No nurses or doctors were around to help, just a teenage medic who used his cell phone as a light (everyone knows how dirty phones are), had to ask US how many stitches HE was supposed to be removing, and placed the utensils on the table that CLEARLY hadn’t been cleaned since the previous patient. GO TO A DIFFERENT HOSPITAL OR URGENT CARE. OR if you do have to come here, come at night and maybe you’ll have better luck than we did.jaime barretoHave been to set an appointment for weeks ,recoding ask for name phone # and reason for calling but they never return callsdonald hockley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedER efficient high quality care @ 2am.Ericka Polisaintvil⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went into the hospital after dealing with a chronic cough after a bad cold from November. I got sick again this past Sunday which made the cough worse and shortened my breath. Let me start by saying I did go to an urgent care twice over 3 months. They accessed me for 3 minutes the first visit, told me I had a cold, and suggested I buy Deslyn OTC cough syrup. The next visit was about 10 minutes (because I was still coughing and nothing changed from the first visit). I got a zpac and prednisone as well as some more suggested OTC meds. No change at all. I went to the ER at Broward Health and was treated with so much compassion from the staff. Linda works at the front desk and she checked my pulse. She was so friendly and gentle. Then I was taken to the triage room where I was asked questions about my condition. I didn’t get the girls name but she had dark purple hair. She was awesome. She later was the nurse who had to give me my iv line and she used a sonogram machine to find my vein. Never saw that before and for a person like me who hates needles, that means a lot. She found my vein in one hit. She was a very humble and sweet nurse. Thomas was the nurse that pretty much took care of me. He was awesome. So attentive and made sure I was comfortable the whole time I was there. Now, I checked in for 6 hours but I didn’t care. I wanted to know what was wrong with me. He helped make the time a little more bearable. They took blood test, x-ray, ct scan (shot out to Sami for making it comfortable for me), and ekg. Every test to rule out blood clots, heart issues, etc. Dr. Kimpel was friendly and super knowledgeable. I got an overload of understanding as to what was going on and how it may have happened. He referred me to a pulmonologist to help with the abnormality found in my lungs however, I walked out breathing and my cough was much better after months of no change. My husband kept telling them they were the best staff he met in an ER. I prayed for a compassionate staff before I went to the ER because I had so many that weren’t. I got what I prayed for!Luna Daniel⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy heart goes out to the nurses and doctors at Broward North. They are very dedicated and friendly. My husband was given the royal treatment from the moment he entered the emergency room to the time he was discharged. I am thankful for Tommy, Jacob, Martha, Sabrina and countless other nurses who deal with sick patients all day and do their best to make them comfortable. Love you all !!!!!!!!!Bory SWorse Hospital in Florida. if you want to live don’t go there, period! I went there with smallpox; my skin was burning!!!! I had a bad reaction to some medication I used at home, I went there with the worse pain of my life. They made me wait for 4 hours, didn’t give a pill… When they finally got me in, instead of giving me some medication or something, they locked me in a room, YES, you heard right, they locked me in a room for about 3 more hours. That’s the worse experience I’ve ever gone trough in my entire life. People there don’t know the word COMPASSION. Horrible experience!Rachael Kinuthia⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI Am an international patient have been doing therapy here and i have had a great experience.Working with the secretery Edna Moore and Marie, and chrissy as my therapist.Sylva Fowler⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis is my second time having surgery at Broward Health North… both times I was on the orthopedic floor (3 north, I believe) from the moment I was in outpatient admitting until my discharge from the floor, I can honestly say I had a wonderful experience!!! Everyone I came in contact with, EVERYONE, was polite, professional and had a smile on their face! Being in the medical profession for 35 yrs I know the stress and issues that come while working in a hospital setting, but all the personnel I encountered handled things very professionally! The nurses, PCAs, PT,OT, housekeeping and everyone else I came in contact with were superb! The orthopedic team is a well oiled machine that is super efficient!! I only hope these dedicated professionals are appreciated by their administration!!!Alex SotoFriendly staff but when my wife went in for a twisted need that caused a loud pop sound they did an x Ray despite no need and would not do an MRI because she wasn’t trauma. We would have received better care at an urgent care. Stay far away from this hospital!Eric AlexanderNegative Stars. I was in a motorcycle accident where my motorcycle was totaled. I was in shocking pain all over my body. Over seven thousand in damages and a totaled bike. They asked me to pick one area of my body that hurts the most and I couldn’t decide. They then selected my ankle for me. Dr.Garner blew me off like I was seeking pain medicine. I worked in the emergency room for ten years and know for a fact I was judged when I totaled my brand new bike and body. They took an x ray and sent me out. My other injuries such as my knee and elbow were not looked at and they now hurt the most two months later. I was done an extreme dis service. Their customer service/ appeal process is a joke as well. They decided since they picked my ankle, took an x ray and billed for just that, they are in the right and did a great job. Only because they lacked legal liability. I can only wish their families the same dis service in their time of emergency. The hospital is garbage because they let the doctors not give a single care about their patients and get away with it. I am now being charged 1200 dollars for tests of injuries that were chosen by the staff. i do not understand how this is legal. Please go to Northwest medical or any other hospital in the area. Run fast. i was also considered trauma and not treated as such. I am stuck with permanent injuries that were never looked at. They will bill you and kick you to the curb with permanent injuries that were never looked at. 🙁 The nursing staff is very kind, sweet, caring etc, but when they have negative doctors that don’t judge case by case and label their patients as if they are smarter than god, it really brings the facility from 5 stars to 0. Only go to North if you want to be judged and mis/under treated. I also don’t understand how my bike and I were both totaled and I got an x ray.Cheyenna BrownThe worst of the worst experience in my life I came in because I was having pain in my knee for weeks … I waited in the emergency room lobby for three hour the took an X-ray and tried to treat me in the waiting area the nurse came out to wrapped my knee up in the lobby I was so embarrassed I told him can I please go to the back or in the bathroom this is unacceptable…. I swear the front desk was dancing not professional at all just ghetto I will be writing a letter to the president of the hospital as well … and to top it off the didn’t hesitate about taking my PPO insurance and asking for my copay after treating me the way they did Melissa Mullin⭐️⭐️The nurses were very kind. However, we noticed there were constant mistakes, the nurses don’t communicate to each other. They almost gave my grandma double medication. Each nurse that came in had no idea about her medical history – and we had to keep explaining it to each nurse. There was confusion about her medications, things weren’t documented well. They also serve the same food, super salty food & canned fruit & vegetables for a hypertensive / diabetic patient. There was this pulmonary device she had to breathe into 10x every hour she was awake – On the last night she was there she was told that is what she had to do with that device. It sat there for 3 days prior with nobody telling her to use it. There is also no doctor on staff at night. Would never go back to this hospital, it’s scary that these people are responsible for lives. They need to improve their communication skills & protocols, absolutely atrocious.lakaya McbrownJust terrible, nurse at front desk so rude, have everyone waiting in a waiting room and the rooms are empty. I was there for 7 hours for nothing, they didn’t even check me until last minute, nurse didn’t check my insurance, just put self pay on my documents when I am paying 500$ for insurance. They really don’t no what they are doing, if you have an emergency don’t go……. don’t do itPatrick Neary⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was there in Nov of 2018 for a full hip replacement. From the moment I walked in to admin, I was made to feel like I was walking into a fine hotel. Very polite, charismatic and all questions were answered. The pre op staff was AMAZING!!! I was made comfortable, and informed of all aspects of my surgery. All had a great sense of humor which put the tension at ease! All of this was duplicated in Dec 2018 when I had a full knee replacement! Therapist Oliver and Thomas truly accelerated my healing and are extremely knowledgeable of ortho needs!!! GREAT guys! ! Patient helper (Reneld” ) who as so great that I actually looked forward to my blood work at 5AM! Was so accomadating and helpful. lol. The nursing staff was perfect! All smiled and all had a GREAT sense of humor. All needs were met far beyond my expectations! I want to thank Katrina in food services for making each meal spectacular and delivered with sweet kindness .3rd floor nurses Joli, Jessica, Mara, and the entire staff were the best you could ever hope for in a painful time. Exceeding the service of a Four Seasons hotel!! Always there when needed very compassionate and always smiling!!! I was made very comfortable and was taken care of like my own mother would have done.I didn’t wanna leave! So, 5 stars from me…and…I’m picky! lol
