CMMC Reviews

Before you go to CMMC, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Lewiston emergency room think.

Samantha C Im not a review type person but my experience was not only traumatizing but also dehumanizing to say the least. I had gone to the emergency room with severe abdominal pain on my right side with dizziness and naseau. A Nurse said because they were so busy I could be waiting for hours to be seen by a doctor and because my vitals were OK I would have to wait. I could barley speak so my husband expressed how serious we believed it was, but I received no help, exam, or assessment from any doctor or nurse. The only thing a nurse did is brought us to a bed in the middle of a hallway and said I could lay on it and wait. We had nurses feet away from us in their office laughing and joking around as I laid their rolling in pain. Total lack of empathy or professionalism. After an hour and 45 minutes I told my husband I didn’t think I could make it much longer. We decided to go to St Mary’s Regional Hospital. I was taken in immediately and was examined and diagnosed within 45 minutes. I was internally bleeding and had to have emergency surgery. For an emergency please don’t make the same Mistake I did and make the trip to St.Marys Hospital. The attentive staff are much worth it.Emily Kimball Horrible. My father has been in this hospital for 60 days and has had to have MULTIPLE surgeries to fix the mistakes these people have made. There must be absolutely no communication between departments in this hospital. On top of all that, some of the nurses seem to be more concerned with what’s on their phones rather than tending to his loudly beeping IV machines. I strongly believe that if my father had been taken to Maine Medical in Portland, he would’ve been out and in physic rehab a long time ago. If I’m ever in need of medical assistance, never take me to this hospital. Even if it’s five minutes up the road. I’d rather risk bleeding out while on my way to Maine Medical Center because at least there I know that I’ll get some real help.Gordie Raynes I had been having heart palpitations the last couple of days & decided it would be prudent to go to the ER via ambulance as they were acting up again… after I got thier I was just LEFT to see NO ONE I had a bowel accident while hooked up to all the monitors …. I had to send my Mom to my apt for a complete change of clothes… after 4 /1/2 hrs. NOTHING was resolvedHaley MacDonald I have never left a review before, let alone a one star review, but after the experience I had with the CMMC Energency Room Department I felt it was my duty to warn others before they made the same mistake I did. Worst experience of both my and my partners life. We waited 3 hours without being checked on or talked to only to have the doctor blow us off and act highly unprofessional. The entire ER was under staffed and seemingly under trained. No apologies were given for the long waits or horrible bedside manner of the doctor. The only saving grace was a nurse who was pulled from the ICU who genuinely cared about what was going on with us. He would be the ONLY reason I would EVER go back. If it’s an emergency you are better off going to St. Mary’s or making the drive to Portland.Ben Nichols⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am happy overall with the care I receive at the ER here. Wait times are never extreme. Nurses are always exceptionally kind, and so are all of the ER docs I’ve had are as well. 1 rude anesthesiologist, but everyone else has always been very caring, friendly, and empathetic.Emily M The medical care here is one of the worst in the surrounding areas and it would be worth traveling to a different hospital to seek care. The ER is very slow even with all rooms empty and the doctor only comes around once every hour or so. If there are any urgent medical needs coming to CMMC is not recommended. I’ve come here on many occasions and on each I am dissatisfied. The nurses will refuse to give information about your care such as what blood work they are doing, instead they say it was ordered and will not tell you what it is specifically for. The nurses are impersonal and seemingly unwilling to comfort patients. They are also quite rude and rush through treatments.Brendan Gilbert⭐️⭐️This hospital is god awful at communication. I called to schedule an appointment and they didn’t pick up. I left my callback number on their answering machine and I never got a call back. Eventually I did manage to get an appointment, and you know what it went pretty well… But their system was down that day so they couldn’t schedule a follow up appointment right then and there. No biggie, I gave them my number so they’d be able to call me to schedule another one when their system was back online. But then they never called. I’m trying to get help but I can’t and it is so frustrating.Richard White⭐️⭐️⭐️Poor service, unanswered call buttons, doctor has no clue when he comes in to room, expects patient and visitors to inform them. No communication anywhere. Used to be a good hospital. Not anymore. Moved up to 3 stars, they changed doctor and has been a little better communication, Nurses have been good.Karebear’s Crazy House Let me start here. I went to the emergency room about 4 days ago because I had an infection from a piercing, 2 hours later they had me in the o.r. They operated on me in my street clothes which they left me in for the whole duration of my stay there which were soiled. Luckily I didn’t stay there long because the day after my surgery, -12 hours later a physicians assistant comes in and rips apart my wound and kicks me to the curb. I didn’t get any fluids or antibiotics while I was there and now I have a big cavity wound, a giant hole in my body and it’s horrifying. They told me I’d probably die of infection before I left too so I walked around for two days hysterical. The nurses are all ignorant and obviously hate their jobs. It’s scary. Next time I need help I will drive an hour and a half to Maine medical in Portland at least then I know I’ll be safe and respected. Oh yeah and did I mention the room they put me in had a trash can full of soiled medical. Supplies and piss bags from the previous person that had been in that room? The cleaning girl came in so I thought yaya she’ll finally clean that nastiness out but nope she didn’t!Maddox Michaud I have had nothing but horrible experiences at the ER at CMMC, too many to count between myself and family members. The only reason I use the cmmc ER is because my pcp is associated with cmmc and she is actually competent. I was almost sent home with meningitis three years ago, thankfully it was change of shift and when they were doing rounds the doctor coming on saw it was more than a headache and required Tylenol (which is what the previous doctor was going to give me and send me on my way.) I ended up having a spinal tap done and was admitted. My son ended up with pressure sores/blisters from a splint that wasn’t put on properly when he broke his arm. The most recent was two days ago. I went to ER at the advisement of my PCP. I sat on the waiting room about an hour and a half then brought back into a room. They did some labs, said they didn’t know what was going on and to follow up with my doctor. The whole reason my doctor told me to go is because of the pain I’m having/location of pain. The ER would have been able to order imaging without having to wait for prior authorizations to go through. Now I have to wait a week for radiobiology to be able to do imaging, all while in excruciating pain. My PCP is leaving in May, once that happens I think I’m jumping the CMMC ship. It has gone down hill the last few years with no real end in sight.Bcassandra Too many bad experiences to name. Makes me sick how behind this place is compared to other hospitals. From giving birth to imaging to the ER. RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!Frosty 57⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI think its grate and if you want your kid to have a good time getting a check up you should 100% go see Doctor Carrie Frost. She makes the kids laugh she makes me laugh all the time. Her office is in lewiston an hour away from Portland her other work was 2 hours from Portland and some of her patents travel 3 full hours to see her. Yaa that`s right it`s true.Sally Garcia Hospital is getting worse every time I go the only care that is good hear is the er even the kids office is terribleFear Nothing, Laugh Often A friend went in after fainting. They diagnosed her with syncope without having done a single blood test. There are hundreds of causes of fainting, most of which require blood tests to find out about. They didn’t even bother and she was in and out in less than an hour. I went in for a migraine and they treated me like I was trying to get drugs out of them. I take a torodol injection when I’m in a bad migraine, but they weren’t interested in that and released me without providing any treatment.Mary Lord Horrible..my daughter was there 2nite….didn’t even bath her…after being transported from Colebrook NH. late arrival Mon.nite..testing on tues..out the door by Wednesday noon…SHE WAS IN A TRAUMATIC car accident…unreal… Would never ever send anyone THERE..Kate A. Four hours on a Wednesday night for my husband to get stitches in his hand. His BLEEDING, painful hand. They even started taking people back that arrived after him that just had coughs. Thank God one of them spoke up and said she arrived after him and that he should go back before her. Absolutely ridiculous and horrible experience.Erica Cyr⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI took my 5 year old son to the ER for breathing difficulty. For being in the ER, we had a great experience. The staff we’re all courteous, professional, caring and understanding. They helped make us feel comfortable. It a few hours but that’s common….a hospital is busy and a complicated business. I was grateful for the very outstanding care provided by Family Medicine Resident, Dr. Justin Quinlan, PA Stacey Noreika and Nurse Saad. Thank you to a great team!Wendy Bolding⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went in today to the ER with a few issues. I was a wreck . They made me feel very comfortable while there. They were very caring and very pleasant.. I love cmmc… great peoplejulie benedix What a joke!! Homeless people come her and hang out and I sit here in the waiting room for over 2 hrs and still no service. My mom was released from here two days ago and here we are again staff has no clue. Glad I got out of the medical field because everything I’ve ever been taught don’t happen hereDA LTW My ED Dr. comes into my room with his arms up and saying why are you back you need to just stay home. Unacceptable and severely unprofessional! Also as for using the call button it took ten minutes for a person to respond back to me and another five for someone to actually show up in my room. I have dealt with multiple Dr.’s a couple of nurses that have been rude and unprofessional but I have worked with many doctors and nurses in this department that have been perfect. Also dealt with the finance department and the lead was excellent but the associate behind the front desk had a pathetic negative attitude and was in no way trying to help me with my issue that I was having with them! CMMC you’re in need to correct and fix your problems!Daisy Hodgkins My sister in law and I are in cmmc right now it m4 and have been since yesterday. I would like to start my complaint by saying when we were in the er my daughter had to pee and I told her to wait a min. The turn around a min later and a male tech is leading by daughter out of the room to take her to the bath room without even asking me. For that reason alone me and my sister in law will not be back here again. And honestly that guy should be fired for trying to take a 5 year old girl to the bathroom without a parents permishen….also up in m4 were we are right now we have pressed the call button and timed it and every time it takes 5-10 min for anyone to come. I even went out there to get someone and none was at the desks and when someone finally came in I asked if someone should always be there and she gave me a attitude and said no. But how i see it is if some presses that button it should never take that long and if someone goes out there to get a nurse there should at least always be one there incase a life or death thing happens.Bob Sipe Every time I try to contact one of my physicians who are associated with CMMC, it’s a nightmare. I apparently get the main switchboard first. When I asked to speak to my doctor’s office, I get catch up in a round robin and switched to either the wrong office or put on hold for between 10 to 35 minutes. This is not an exaggeration at all, it’s actually happened to me on several occasions. I have held the line just to see how long it takes to get someone to answer. It’s not uncommon to be connected to the wrong department and put back in that deep dark hole again or get cut off. This is totally unacceptable. I’m a professional person and my time is just as valuable as the medical staff at CMMC. There is no excuse for such a pathetic telephone system. This central telephone system is a total SCREW UP and inconvenience to the patients. Apparently the system was dollar driven and not patient aid driven. Whoever came up with this damn system should be taken out to the back forty for a good horse whipping or maybe a lobotomy. A lobotomy might be more appropriate since the person or persons who came up with this stupid system aren’t using their whole brains anyway. Remember CMMC. you business is patient driven and Portland isn’t that far away. Marcus M. KirkHarley Graziano I’m currently sitting here not being able to breath and coughing my lungs our and sweating and no one cares. I’ve been here an hour in my room and NO ONE. Should have gone to st. Mary’s. They literally have no patients here except for me.Peggy Chamberlain⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI just want to say I was treated at this hospital. I was treated like a queen. The staff was exceptional….Richard Craig Un answered call buttons, slow or mostly no doctor. Worst ER I’ve been in.Tina Barbour The ER is horrible. While being examined for a bad bruise from a fall, I had to be partially exposed. The nurse walked out leaving the door wide open and all the people walking by could see me!! I was so humiliated !Erika Armstrong This hospital sucks. Misdiagnosed 5 times. And the staff doesnt care about you.Memere03 Bechard⭐️⭐️been waiting for my doctor to call me back. waiting on a new depression medication! What if I was so depressed I wanted to off myself? Geez! I have called them back 3 times and they keep telling me that she will get back to me, when?Renee Laliberte If i could leave less then 1 star i would the staffing situation is ridiculousCyndi Phillips This er is under staffed … my husband was checked in at 9:15 and FOUR hours later we still wait for help with abdominal blockage. A diagnosis we knew going in. Very poor serviceMiranda Shurtleff Should not have to wait 45+ minutes for labs to be drawn in the outpatient lab, multiple people left after an hour of waiting. There is also no point in the secretaries since you sign yourself in anyway. I also should not have to call and leave 5 voicemails for my lab results to be given to me. Unprofessional and unacceptable. An La If you have a choice choose elsewhereMelissa Guay TERRIBLE!!Over four hours in emergency room and now waiting for the doctor to come back! lucian f. Dont care about patientShelley Clark I hate this hospital very abusive to Thai patients really bad careHannah Burhoe Ob office wont answer or call backJoey Stacks Never again
