Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center Reviews

Before you go to Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Burlington emergency room think.

Maria Shepp⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Went in around 4 pm on a Wednesday and I was checked into the ER immediately. Only sat for around 20 minutes in the waiting room and it was nice and the staff seemed to help people relatively quickly. They did a ton of scans as soon as they could because I didn’t know what was wrong so they had to test for a few things. I ended up staying for 5 days in the hospital and the food was good, the nurses and doctors were attentive and responsive. They were very good at explaining exactly what was wrong with me and why I needed certain treatments. I think depending on when you go into the ER, it’s a hit or miss. Going in at 4 pm on a Wednesday is a lot better than going in at 10 pm on a Friday night… overall, great service and attentiveness for me.Jessica Nanney I am only giving one star because when we went our visit was great. The staff was excellent and we didn’t have to wait forever like most. However, their billing department is the worst I’ve ever had to deal with!!!! Idk if it was because we were in an accident and they thought they could swindle money from us but even after everything was billed and paid by insurance they would still constantly bill us. I would call billing and most of the time none of the agents would know what they were talking about. I eventually had to have insurance fax them proof but even after that they sent out collectors. Not one collector but two. The wreck was from a year and a half ago but we are still having problems with them. Please if you have a wreck avoid this hospital at all cost unless it’s medically needed billing is a nightmare!!!! I will never go back unless I just have to!!Marco Coelho Was here with my mother who was complaining of pain in her side and back. Took blood and urine, also did ultrasound. Hours later doctor finally came in and told us everything was normal and looked ok. We were told it was a irritation in her stomach possibly due to high acid levels in her stomach. We could tell doctor had no idea what he was talking about. Especially when he said that was his best guess. Is that all it takes to be a doctor? I can guess all day!Office Diva⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI hear bad reviews all the time. I had a long waiting experience in the ER once but it WAS packed and there were many sick kids and elderly ahead of me. I came in because my water broke too soon. I am so happy they took care of me so well in labor and delivery. I skipped ER and went right upstairs. There was constant updates on my care. There was constant communication…. They were very involved and didnt make any promises they made me aware of all the risks up front. They ran tests immediately. They got me in ultrasound immediately. They monitored the baby based on my concerns and made me feel reassured at all moments. I could push my call bell and any nurse would come instantly to help. They also gave me a foot and hand rub to relax me. I stayed here for 2 days before transferring to DUKE UNIVERSITY hospital where I am definitely not receiving state of the art care Chris Baustian This place rates 0-stars. They are not attentive to the patients and DO NOT try to look into root cause for a medical condition. When you try to voice a concern, they either put you on hold for a very long time, or transfer you to an automated like that tells you to ask for the charge nurse (when that is what you did in the first place). If you do reach a person on the phone they’re extremely lazy and not care about your concern. When you tell the nurses and doctors your symptoms, they do not listen. If you try to get resolution via administration, they harass you using the police. Best not to go to this hospital if you can help it….STAY AWAY for good health.Leigh Carter One of the worst, if not THE worst, hospital I’ve ever been to. The staff are not considerate or friendly unless you’re dying. You wait HOURS even when it’s not busy. I had to ask the nurses to give my mother Tylenol and check her blood pressure because they weren’t keeping her monitored like they were suppose to be doing. It’s just an all around terrible experience, do not come here, take the extra time to drive to a decent hospital.Brenda Ross⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was admitted to the hospital at Cone Health ACRMC and I have nothing but great things to say about them. From the ER to my stay and even had to go to Cardiac rehab. The staff there are REMARKABLE, CARING and PATIENT and they need to be recognized and applauded for their outstanding work!Ana Montes⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have nothing but good things to say. From when I came in to hospital on Christmas Eve with my water broken. They have taken good care of me. I been here for three days already. They have even gone out their way to make sure I am ok and my daughter too who stay with me for a night and day (she is 7yrs old). Communication with me have been very open and check ups have been on time for each rounds. Thank you for taking care of me even when I felt bad not begin home for Christmas with my family.Rachel Rodriguez⭐️⭐️⭐️Everyone was great except the nurse taking care of me. She seem to think because I wasn’t wheezing and my chest was tight I wasn’t having an asthma attack. She was very rude mean hateful and disrespectful. I told her she was not hooking me up to a heart monitor and if I could not have a breathing treatment I was going home. Man that really made her mad. She left and came back with dr and my breathing treatment. Guess What? It worked. Once she gave me my breathing treatment she left and never came back to see if I was ok. She needs a course in bedside manner or a new professionKathy Loredo My grandson was taken there two times for mental reasons. Both times he was released within hours. When this boy kills himself or someone else you will have a lot of questions to answer.kasey piarrot This is not a hospital. It is closer to a gas station than a hospital. They almost killed me by leaving me in the waiting room for 12 hours while my appendix was rupturing. I was rushed into emergency surgery because these garbage humans are inept. While I was there they had a woman complaining of a broken tailbone and sat her in a wheel chair. A WHEEL CHAIR. On her broken tailbone. Morons.Pohai Richardson We went to Alamance Regional ER against my better judgment, because people told me I should give them another chance since they are now associated with Cone. We got my young daughter checked in for chest pain and a lump. She was triaged and then sent to a waiting room. No one even bothered to feel or look at the lump in her chest. A staff member called her name and escorted us from the waiting room to a room in the ER and didn’t say a word to us until we got to the room and she said someone would be right with us. We were taken to a room and the bed only had a sheet on it. No one asked my daughter if she wanted a blanket or anything. We waited in the room. No one came to check on my daughter. When I went to the nurses station to see how long it would be before someone came to check on my daughter, I was told there were people in front of her and it would be a while. Still not asked if she needed anything. When I finally asked how we could leave, I was rudely pointed towards the lobby. Not even asked what the problem was. The staff was very rude with no regard for the pain my daughter was in and had no care for my daughter. They gave off the impression that they were just trying to get through a shift. I would recommend going to UNC. Which is where we went and would you know, the triage nurse checked the lump in my daughter’s chest right awayLaura Crank⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had nothing but a positive experience. I was 38 weeks pregnant and was supposed to deliver at another hospital. However; knew I wasn’t going to make it to the right hospital. Staff was great and baby boy ended up in the special care nursery due to having low blood sugar (had gestational diabetes). They took great care of him.Caitlin Pfeifle If I could give negative stars they would definitely have negative 5! Spent my whole day waiting for information I already knew and told them multiple times. When I told them that I can’t take pills due to food allergies they still brought me the medicine I am allergic to. I actually had to pull out my phone and show them the ingredients list! don’t care if I’m dying, I will NEVER be back. What a waste of time!!! Such a joke of an ER!Philip Thomas Worst experience I’ve had went with my fiance who was having seizures multiple times in a row and they then asked us to leave the room and came back in the room and told her “you can stop now these aren’t seizures if you don’t stop we’re going to have to involuntarily commit you, you don’t want that do you ” we went to another doctor who has prescribed medication and says they need to do test to make sure that it is not something worse and are actually helping her. And when we were their the monitors went off and no nurses responded one from down the hall finely did Worst hospital ever and I was born there so very disappointedCaroline Farrish If I could give negative stars I would. Very very slow getting you back. I waited over 5 hours to be seen. The nurses at the front desk all had attitudes, and showed no remorse for people who were in pain questioning the extreme wait time. If you have a serious emergency please DO NOT GO HERE!Carla Johnson⭐️⭐️The staff in the ER were very nice and patient with my grandmother, who is 85 and hard of hearing. Once she was admitted, the nurses on her floor were the total opposite. I walked to the nurses station to ask for a straw. Two nurses told me to hold on while they resumed their casual conversation filled with laughter. One other nurse overheard and kindly helped me. Also, my grandmother told me her assigned nurse asked her to wash up this morning. My grandmother asked for her assistance with her back and the nurse commented “that’s all I’m washing.” Very unprofessional to say the least. If you arent compassionate about people and their health condition, nursing isn’t the appropriate field for you. This job should be done from the heart and not just for a paycheck. Very disappointed. If it was possible, I would take her to a different hospital with better bedside manner.Peter Yoho Had a bat in house, and health dept. Recomened going to ER and get checked out. They took vitals for wife and son. we waited a while for a physisians assistant to talk to us about 5 minutes and tell us unless we think we were bitten that we are ok. I was thankful for his advice, but we were sent 2 er Bill’s that totaled 605 each before insurance. If they would have taken them back individually. There would of only been one charge, because we would not have needed to take back the other if we knew what they told on the first. I tried to call to see if they could help with cost. The receptionist listened attentively, but stated could not do anything. All in all they requested $1210 in charges before insurance for taking two peoples vitals and talking to them 5 minutes. Do we technically owe them? Yes. Do I get the feeling they care about the individual? …….Debra Hamrick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent staff they did a great job of taking care of me .Panda_ Pierce I came in at 1am. I didnt want to but my friends and family thought it was my best option. I had a cough. It could have been bronchitis it just wasnt normal. So i went to get it checked out because i have an infant that is very vulnerable to whatever i have going on. So im sitting her waiting and things move fast at first i get checked out i get xrayd. But now im waiting in a room to be seen by the doctor for an hour and now ive been waiting in the room after being seen by the doctor, for a half hour just for some paper work to get the h*** out of there. I have my daughter with me trying to sleep in brightly lit rooms. I didnt bring her food (stupidly) because I thought it was in get checked get out. I was soooo wrong. Its nearly 6 am and im about to walk out of the hospital Never to return againJennifer Harviel⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe emergency department staff is amazing! Recently in with a family member on a busy evening, triaged within 30 minutes and sent directly to a ED room, seen very quickly by a nurse and a doctor. Staff was very thorough and nurse techs were just awesome! Family member was then admitted and the staff on the floor was so professional and caring. Thank you for all the fantastic care my family member received.Mark Lindley Worst wait times and staff can’t tell me anything. Worst hospital do not do here.Charlton Wiggins I came into ER with intense back pain due to a ruptured disc in my back at about 9pm and was made to wait writhing in a chair for 6 hours. When I finally was seen they had to put me to sleep so they could do imaging as the pain was too intense to lay flat. Three days later I woke up at Duke University Hospital and my valuables were missing. After trying exhaustively from my hospital bed at Duke to contact someone, anyone at ARMC who could track them down It became evident ARMC has no personnel or procedures for maintaining patients belongings with them. Due to their severe lack of integrity Items that I had extreme personal attachments to are gone. As far as I am concerned ARMC is guilty of theft. DO NOT GO TO ARMC!!Amy Jo von der Heyde I have been there 4 times & was misdiagnosed or treated so poorly. The times i was misdiagnosed, i had to pay someone else to PROPERLY treat me yet i am still required to pay this facility for NOT doing their job. DO NOT GO HERE EVEN IN EMERGENCY! There’s other…BETTER places within close range. DO NOT BELIEVE THE OWNER/PR WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT, THEY DON’T DO ANYTHING TO GIVE YOU BACK YOUR DIGNITY THAT THEY STOLE! HORRIBLE PLACE & I HAVE THIS POSTED ON EVERY MEDIA SITE POSSIBLE!!!Brittney Johnson The WORST hospital I’ve been to. They don’t care about your health. Take the drive to Chapel hill or Durham. Went in with high blood pressure, they just sent me home. REALLY? and Doctor James Hanshan was VERY rude. Came in, didnt introduce himself, just started rushing me through what wasnt wrong so he could be done. Didnt look over what was actually wrong. Nurses, too busy congregating at their desk. I was there with high blood pressure and vitals checked once in a 3 hour window which was when I arrived!!! Very VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!Lindsey Finks⭐️⭐️I am up and down on this review. The doctor and nurses had an awesome bedside manner. I don’t agree with some of the tests they ran, I felt like it was just about the money but I wasn’t going to argue with a doctor who clearly went to school for his degree. He would know better than I would about what tests need to be ran. I am however extremely disappointed with the billing department. I am now stuck with a $4000 bill in which I was told I have 18 months to pay it (that is their longest payment plan option) or they will send me to collections. I asked them if it would hit my credit at all even if I was making payments in which they advised me YES it would affect my credit. Shame on them. I, as well as others, are doing the best we can to make payments on this. I have been paying and continued to pay but that is not good enough. What is the point of paying at all if you are just going to hit my credit anyways. If you want a billing nightmare with a hospital that wont work with out then go here, otherwise just go to urgent care.Cee Jay Worst experience and hospital I’ve ever been to in my life. I had my son here end of last year unfortunately only because it was the closest hospital. They treat you terribly. Wouldn’t offer me anything to drink even after hours of having my son which they said would be okay then we’re too lazy to bring me anything. They had multiple different nurses coming in within 5 minutes apart pushing down on my stomach because they hadn’t remembered they already sent somebody in. They gave me an epidural too early which wore off at 9 centimeters. That’s not even the worst part. The worst part is I had my child then someone on my floor was smoking or either had weed and they came to my room and accused me not even asked me saying “your not supposed to smoke up here” then wouldn’t let me see my child until we were both drug tested. I wish I could choose negative stars for this piece of trash they call a hospital. The worst hospital to go to let alone bring another person into this world. Will NEVER be back. Plus they messed up part of my c section which caused me to bleed for 3 MONTHS. NEVER GO HERE if your sick or ill they will let you pass away before giving you the help you need.Amy Lynn I arrived at ARMC, and requested to be seen, due to a work related injury. Check in and vitals were done (these folks were very pleasant and attentive). I slipped and fell, causing a large bruise and a very sore back. The P.A. came in, felt my spine, and said she’d rather send me for an x- ray to be safe, and to create a baseline. When going for my x- ray (technician was very professional, and advised me regarding workers comp), I was experiencing these symptoms- I was even more stiff when walking than earlier, sitting up causes pulling feelings in my lower back, I have a lot of pain when turning (learned that while driving there), cannot bend over without the same pulling feeling, and experience a lot of pain when reaching for items. When x- rays were done, no concerns were noted. When the discharge paperwork was brought to me, the only thing noted was my bruise. No mention of my back at all, which was the main reason of coming today. When asking the physician, she stated that she “only prints out the primary reason of being seen/ that she had everything in her notes/ and that she was trying to cut down on paper”. We went back and forth, and then I said, “what if I’m showing the paperwork to an attorney?” THEN SHE SAID SHE’D NEED TO EXAMINE ME. Also, the prescription was the equivalent of Aleeve. Lastly, my work note stated that “I can return to work today, and with limited walking”. So vague. Also, the P.A. also said she can’t take me out of work unless my employer does. No notes about how long I can stand, what I can lift, any exercises I could do to make it feel better, no follow up instructions. NADA. This is the most incompetent medical visit I have ever experienced. Not to mention, she took the paperwork initially provided, and has been MIA for over 25 minutes now, adding her notes.Randell Mclendon Got here at 1028am and its now 430pm still nothing done. Find real hospitalOlivia Willard Only because there’s not a zero star option. My almost 7 month old was running a high fever and was struggling to breathe. The ER nurses were TERRIBLE! Zero patience with me, or my child. Told me he was fine and was probably just “holding his breath.” It was obvious he was in pain. The PA we saw did not listen give a word I said when I tried to explain to her what was going on. She interrupted me and acted like I was dumb for being there. Not to mention even the woman doing the discharge paper work was EXTREMELY rude! She even laughed at me as she handed me the paperwork on what was wrong with my son. I will absolutley NEVER return here. It seems as though the people they get to work in this ER are not qualified to do anything and that they hate their job and everyone they come in contact with.Shannon Smith⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Given birth twice here and have had positive experiences. Dr Beasley was great this last time and helped me feel relaxed before surgery. OR staff was great too. There were some not so plwasanp nurse techs, but most of the actual nurses were great and helpful during my stay. My daughter had several issues and all were addressed. I will say when I’ve gone to the ER for something not related to pregnancy, I’ve had a long wait and not so great experience. However, the birth place is greatKk’s Blessed Korner Smith⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThat was the most thorough exam I ever had and I have had 9 children. They helped find out issues I never knew I had and referred me to the right places.Ken Alston Slowest er I’ve ever been to. And they determine when you get called back based on who comes in that is sicker than you are. Even if you are 1st and they feel the next 8 people are sicker than you, all 8 people get called ahead of you. So they basically feel everyone isn’t important. This hospital has been nothing problems since it was first built.Corbin Henderson This is by far the worst Emergency Room ive been in… Ive been in the waiting room with my 4 year old daughter since 12:44am and its now 5:13am and i have yet to make it to the back. I don’t understand how it could possibly take this long with less than 6 people in the waiting room. It could be housekeeping but i honestly think its from lack of effort. I’ve seen nurses hahaha and no WORK. This is outrageous and I’ll never refer THIS ER to anyone. I will do my best to make yhis THE LAST option. I’d rather drive 30 mins to DurhamHeather Howell⭐️⭐️As much as I appreciate the service they have provided to my family and I, they have always been consistantly VERY slow and more recently I have found the staff in the reception area and in the ER department to be very unfriendly and rude. As my mom was waiting in the waiting room for 4 plus hours with a severe bleeding head wound, I asked the desk clerk 3 times for a blanket. I was told 3 times that she was busy and would bring me one when she could. As I watched her sit and laugh with the other lady working at the desk (who also heard my request and ignored me) the police officer on duty actually got up and brought me one as he had over heard the conversation. An ER visit is almost always a dreaded experience anyway and having to deal with these issues makes it so much worse. I have lived in Burlington my whole life and this hospital has always been this way. I’ve recently visited the ER in Chapel Hill – 100% difference . Everyone was extremely kind, patient and willing to help. The visit moved a long very well with frequent updates from all staff. I really wish ARMC could follow their lead and make some changes. It would be nice to have an efficient ER so close by.Judie Hall Recently, my elderly father was brought in to the ER with extreme and excruciating pain. His PA could not get him in to see her so to hopefully get him some sort of relief in the meantime, my aunt brought him to this facility where they treated him like he had no right to be there. “Why did you come here?” And “what did you expect us to do for you?” were some of the comments made by the ER doc. There was no kindness or respect at all and no care or concern for my dad and his situation. It’d be worth a longer drive to go somewhere else and not bother to waste your time at this hospital.sonya wagoner⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis is the best hospital! I have been here a few times with my husband and with my brother. Everytime the staff and service has been impeccable! I cant say enough good things about my experiences here EVERYTIME!Cassidy Hodge My stepfather is a terminally ill patient in treatment at the adjacent Cancer Center at Alamance. After receiving some troubling blood work results that indicated a potential clot, the Center sent him for a CT scan and then to the ER. The ER visit was terrible – my stepfather was stuck in a wheelchair for 5 hours (he was in there so long, he ended up with open, bleeding gashes on his elbows from the wheelchair arms due to his blood thinner meds) with 2 thin blankets and wearing a soiled diaper. He was freezing and miserable. They brought him to a waiting room and no one told us anything for 5 HOURS. No test results, no “hey you don’t have a blood clot and can go home now” or “hey you do have a blood clot and need surgery”, no help to use the restroom, no offer of water, no friendly reassurances, just nothing. The nurses were rude and I overheard them discussing upcoming vacations and one nurse’s date. After I stood in the hallway glowering at the nurse’s station, one of them came over and said she would check his chart and give us some info, but she never came back. I asked for blankets or help for him to use the restroom but was denied as “he was getting a room soon.” An hour later, he was finally in a room, and the nurse tried to blame everything on being busy and the Cancer Center for sending him to the ER. All excuses – he should have been treated better by the nurses who are supposed to be there to help. I understand that ERs get busy. But if this is the best level of care you can manage on a regular non-holiday night – leaving a dying, bleeding, freezing old man in an uncomfortable wheelchair with no nurse assistance, monitoring, or even a kind word – it might be time to take a look at your business and patient care processes to make some improvements. I won’t be back to this ER and neither will my family.Shane Messer If I could give this place a zero star I would. This is absolutely the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. I was checked in at 3:30am and here it is 7:45am and I’m still sitting here waiting in this quiet room while I listen to the nurses talk about their personal lives.Brooke Booth My daughter recently went here because she broke out in a red rash all over her body. She has been irritable running a fever, scratching and in pain. Her skin and temperature are running very high. They told us that it is a viral infection and will go away soon. Wasn’t given any medication and it isn’t getting any better, after doing thorough research turns out a viral rash/infection doesn’t have symptoms of itching or pain which is key signs of some type of allergic reaction. Great job doctors now we have to take more time off work to bring her to a doctor that will actually help her get well. Zatoria Glanton My daughter (a 15 month old) woke up vomiting all over the place. She then started to shake and refused to drink fluids. Unsure of what was going on and scared about what was going on. My fiancé and I checked her in around 12am. After 5 hours of waiting we were told 4 to 5 people were in front of us. After 5 hours they finally decided to check her vitals again. As a mother I am highly upset because of the fact that my daughter didn’t have a fever they figured she was “not an emergency”. I will not be going here again. Terrible ER very slow and short staffed.Madison Collins Very slow calling people in. However they are nice and friendly. Texts are done quickly when you are (finally) called back.Cynthia Belknap everything we’ve had to go through with here has been so disorganized on the hospitals end, we have to spend hours trying to get stuff fixed that they messed up, if we had another option we’d never go here againJustin Billings Been here 2 hours waiting on someone to come do there job, but all they do is walk away or back and forth it’s the freaking flu season stupid ARMC so do what you are supposed to do and give me my medicine and then check out. Pretty much everything is common sense but ARMC doesn’t have anyjafet chaverri Very slow moving we came in at 10pm and didnt leave until 730 am the wait was so bad i fell asleep on the floor my girlfriend was just left in the room and doctor no were to be found. I get its hard for one doctor to see all the people that come in but 9 hours of just sitting with no information to go on always understaffed. If you like waiting and waiting not just in the ER lobby but the rooms aswell this is the place for you. By far worst experience ever.Matt Rice Not sure where to start. I am sure there are good people who work here. We never see many of them. Back again this morning (since EMS transports to the closest hospital) and this has been the worse customer service ever in the ER. At discharge last week, we were told that this hospital could do nothing for us and that we should go to Duke. Today, the medical staff is arguing back that this facility can handle the small bowel obstruction. This has been going on since March and three major surgeries. Cone Health needs to help this place step up their standards. I would be willing to talk with any higher ups to suggest solutions.Jane Johnson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy mom has had to go to the ER department 3 different times since February, and they have given her excellent care all 3 times! This morning was the latest visit, and they had her in and out in about 45 minutes. She received the”gold” treatment today!! Thank you so much ARMC ER Department for being so caring!!!amanda conover I am in the waiting room for the ER, and have been here for 2 hours now. The pain I am experiencing is getting worse and worse, and I am frustrated because it is not busy at all, and the two other people that were here before got in after a half an hour each, which is unacceptable. Terrible, sketchy place with low staff and poor help
