Cone Health MedCenter High Point Reviews

Before you go to Cone Health MedCenter High Point, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this High Point emergency room think.

Helena Martinez My daughter visited this ER Sunday night with severe abdominal pain waited over 4 hours for them to tell her she was pregnant and what was happening was a miscarriage from an insensitive doctor which they couldn’t even confirm because their ultrasound was broken? Not even a simple Pap smear was done…An ER with a broken ultra sound, ok? They sent her home with pain medicine and an appointment at 8:30PM the following NIGHT? The pain was unbearable we ended up taking her to baptist hospital in Winston where the staff was amazing, they did an ultrasound and confirmed an ectopic pregnancy and internal bleeding and sent her straight to surgery. she called Cone health for curtesy that she wouldn’t go to the appointment only for them to say she had no appointment with them anyway? The least they could’ve done was referred her to a more capable hospital.Jackie⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’ve gone there on several occasions for emergency care. The care is excellent; the staff are very attentive and personable. The facility is very clean.Fay Fay’s Gameplay⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFriendly knowledgeable staff. Expedient and excellent service.Beverly McCarter⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Beats the ER at High Point Hospital. I have bee several times. I had none or very short wait time. My only complaint was once I got into the exam room it was awhile before I was seen. When they got to me, the care was quick. They were very professional. Answered all of my questions. I recommend this place often. Beverly McCarterGeorge P i WORK AT THIS FACILITY AND DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME CALLING THE PHONE NUMBER, BECAUSE IT WILL RUN YOU AROUND IN CIRCLES. YOU’LL GET NO ANSWER, DISCONNECTED OR SENT TO GREENSBORO LOCATIONnasir ahamed⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went there December 27th for my kidney stone I was so much pain when I get there from registration to the nurse to the doctor to the ct scan every one of each so professional so caring I wish I can do the more than five star Debbie Brincefield⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy Son was taken back right away and took excellent care of him. The doctor and nurses were right on top of the situation. Even though it was a drive from Thomasville, this is where I’ll go for future ER situations if needed.Kenneth Perry Jr Visited this location on 5/7/19 as my wife was suffering from severe menstrual cramping, something she doesn’t normally suffer from. Waited over two hours, and because my wife wasn’t able to produce a urine sample they refused to see her until she did. Even after being placed in an exam room they wouldn’t look at her until she produced a sample. Finally in such unbearable pain and not being seen, we left. This place was very unprofessional. See your patient regardless, don’t assume someone is a druggie just because they are in pain. I thought this area was known for having great medical care, but I was proven wrong. I was the one that made my wife go there, and now I wish I hadn’t. Thanks for nothing, and thanks for letting my wife continue to suffer. I hope you’re happy!!!Hunter Loftis⭐️⭐️⭐️All of our interactions with medical staff have been excellent. The front desk is less useful and could improve expectation setting – it would have been easier to deal with the two hour emergency room wait if we had had any kind of communication from them about it.Natalie Rodriguez On Saturday 4/29/19 at almost midnight, I took my daughter because of her fever was almost 103. The nurse took her in and they gave her some Tylenol. As soon as that doctor, Christopher Polina came in and was very rude and disrespectful towards me and my child. He did not even check her besides checking her eyes and told me that what would he like me to do for her. He basically stated that I keep taking her back to the ER for nothing that she has to take that with her primary doctor. He was very argumentative towards me and my child. I got very upset and told him I don’t need you to do anything just give me the discharge papers. This man is very unprofessional and disrespectful towards his patients. Then they made me sign of at discharge for a bill of what. He did not even check my daughter out besides argue with me in the room. I was there not even more than 10 minutes and the hospital and now they are going to send me a bill for nothing besides giving my child Tylenol for the fever that I could go and buy at the store. Very unprofessional staff at this hospital.Cari Nardone Went in cause I was referred there. They did nothing, my paperwork states I seen a doctor. And never once did a doctor come in. My husband feared I might have blood clot. 3 hrs after getting in the back, a PA comes in and says looks like a bruise. (Mind u the other place that made me go here wanted me to get a ultrasound done) They never took blood (even after I told them of a high chance of having an infection) they did nothing at all. When I was getting aggravated, I put my ear to the door and i over heard 2 nurses talking about the girl in the room i was in. They were saying i punched myself so i am now just looking for pain pills to pop. Number 1 i wasnt in alot of pain to even get them or request them. I dont like pain meds so i refuse to take them anyways. I just wanted to see if i had an infection n a blood clot. Well after hearing them also say i need to lose weight. I weighed 136.9 yesterday. If I lose more weight I would float away. The staff in the front and in triage were awesome and very professional. But the back they were asshats. Now 24hrs later and I can barely move. I have shooting pain on my right side from my head all the way down to mid shin. (Wasnt this bad yesterday) I better not see a bill cause i will fight it. I have never felt like such a low life in a medical facility. I left in tears cause I wasting 6 hrs. And now today I am in so much pain I cant do anything. I am just laying here watching my kids so they dont get hurt. Hopefully the person who runs this facility sees this cause u need to recheck your back staff as they are unprofessional and sorry excuses of humans.Vinscent Cook I’ve been at this location with my wife since 2 am. Shes having chest pains, abdominal pains and hurting very bad. Chest pain protocol is to have that person in a wheel chair and also a birds eye view on the person that person. these people can care less about us we’ve been in the back for 4hours and nor a view of nurse or doctor. Open the door to see them all standing around laughing. This is a place where people come to get help but others use this as social time. I’m very upset with this experience. And hope that no one else has to go threw this with there loved ones! If you can avoid this place don’t come! They will be receiving a 0 star rating from me!Victor Feraru, J.D.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWalked into HP regional’s ED department and walked right out. It was dirty and the wait looked like it was going to be a while. I’m living with congestive heart failure and so when I have trouble breathing it usually means a trip to the hospital. Came over here to Cone with heart concerns and they ran all of the appropriate tests. They treated me with dignity and concern. Given that there is one over night doctor with around 14 beds—it understandably took some time. The overnight lady doctor was very direct, respectful and explained my results in a way that I could understand.Finch Jones⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis place is fantastic! On December 12th I had an appendicitis and came to High Point Med Center and was immediately taken back to a room. My nurse was awesome!I don’t remember her name but she did a fantastic job. When we found out I had an appendicitis I needed to be transferred to Moses Cone Hospital for my surgery. My surgery went well and I definitely recommend all of the Cone branches!David MEIER⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat experience. Everyone was very friendly and professional. In and out in 30 minsdebbie rudolph Horrible experience. Over 3 hours of waiting, with no information, no expectation setting, and only one “interaction” from someone who posed as a healthcare provider. While my child writhed in pain, and we waited for hours, the ER staff could be heard laughing loudly, cutting up and generally having a good time, with little regard to the pain and suffering of those patients to whom they were supposed to be attending. As someone who works in healthcare, I am embarrassed and saddened by the total lack of professionalism, common courtesy and patient-centricity of this place. Go elsewhere, if you can. And Moses Cone, don’t you dare bill me. Shame on you.Marion Samaan Never think about going back to this hospital Bad service and they open room for 4 hours and leave you there without seen by a doctor for more than 3 hours To get charged. Do don’t deserve any star.Issa Short Long wait when there is hardly anyone in the waaiting room one doctor really could care less had once nurse but never saw her again i will not be coming back i have sat 12 hours ahile nurses have laughed and joked with eachother saying i was in pain didnt make them move any faster.Sasasha Fleming The wait was entirely too long. We waited over 3 hours in a room. They weren’t even busy. There was no one in any of the other rooms. One guy came in around the same time we did, when we came back out, he was STILL in the waiting room, shaking, eyes red from crying etc. He had been in the waiting room at least 4 hours. That’s no way to do someone. Never again. Why keep someone who’s in pain waiting that long? That’s cruelty.Valerie Farlow Clearly this place isnt staffed or suited for the volume of patients they let check in. I can appreciate a stand alone ER but when volume gets to an unsafe level there should be some sort of protocol to refer patients to another ER. My mother in law is currently expirencing an unreal wait time for a fall with loss of consciousness, 2 gashes in the head, on blood thinner, and hx of stroke. I am no ER nurse or dr. but I can imagine they have some patients leave without getting proper assessment and treatment. One employee just told my mother in law they were understaffed and I have seen at least 10 people leave without care in the last hour. I wont ever be coming back here or referring anyone else to do so.Khalid DAR3MH⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe ER was very good and fast. I came this morning and I was suffering from Kidney Stone and my right side was hurting me so badly, and the check In was fast .. I really recommend it. Do not go to Greensboro cone health because it will take 7 to 9 hours waiting to see a doctorLoLo Lynch⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️speedy & polite service. Felt comfortable and heard., not overwhelmed like Moses too. This was my first time visit.Ann Henry⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOut of all of the hospital emergency departments in Guilford County, our family has consistently had the best care at Cone Health MedCenter HP Emergency Room. We have never had to wait in the waiting room and have gone straight back to the triage nurse – every time. We have found the medical care to be of a significantly higher quality that the emergency departments at the main Moses Cone in Greensboro and HP Regional. The facilities have always been clean and the staff has been professional. They have been respectful and kind to our elderly parents as well.Karen Bethea I was misdiagnosed and being charged still. I had blood taken in July and my arm is still bruised. AwfulACE VOCALS Laster The nurses treated a veteran like he was worthless. They were very inconsiderate, rude, ghetto and totally unacceptable. I’m a Jamestown resident for 12 years and I NEVER been treated bias and stereotyped. I’m writing a letter to cooperate because I will never bring my children to the closest hospital because of how unconstitutional I was treated by the check in, transportation and 1st nurse esp.. she leaned on my kidney that I told her I had kidney stones to get my coat off the floor. She said o well. She should be fired for being inhumane… I’m going to tell everyone in Jamestown to avoid immaturity to somewhere else.i walked home to penny. I’d rather have stones than to stay and be treated so bad.Sapfire 101 DO NOT COME HERE. I came here a few days ago (around early in the morning). Remind you, there were no patients but me. I was told that I had the flu and I thought it developed into pneumonia. They took my temperature and vitals and told me I didn’t have a fever (even though it was 100 degrees) they told me that they count 105 and higher as a fever but not 100. Like the comments below said, they gave me tylonel and some syrup (for acid reflux which was not necessary). I asked for an x-ray and it came back fine. When they dismissed me, one of the younger nurses had a really disgusting attitude. I asked her why did my flu symptoms come back and she told me “you don’t have the flu” (remind you four different doctors told me I had the flu. Even the doctor at the hospital said so)! She told me I’m fine. I asked her why my symptoms such as chills came back. She had the nerve to tell me “I don’t know because your cold. Your fine and don’t have a fever, congratulations you are going to live another day” while rolling her eyes. That was not acceptable, it was beyond ignorant and unnecessary. Do not come here, all they will give you is Tylenol and tell you that you have a viral infection. I rather died in a hole then come back to this ignorant place that does not care for their patients but discredit them.authentic stuff Bad service Bad service Bad service Long time waiting They have to let patients stay up to 3 hours to let their insurance pay. I gave them 0 starMarla Perdue Will NEVER cone back to this location again. I rushed home to drive my mother over and hour to the emergency room and we have been in the waiting room for 3 hours. They keep coming and telling us we are next. I understand some cases are worse than others. But when you have other grown adults that came in after us hear of the long time next thing you know they can’t breath and are bumped a head of us, when they have been sitting on the phone playing games for the last hour. Staff tells us they are not sure how they were moved ahead. This location needs to work on prioritizing patients needs.Amber P⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have never had a better experience at any type of emergency or urgent care facility. My 3 year old daughter broke her arm earlier today and I took her to the closest place that’s open on weekends. Check in and getting her looked at took no time at all, everyone was extremely sweet and accommodating, about 10 nurses came in to talk to her and brought her stickers, stuffed animals and even an ice pop after they put her cast on her. I am really blown away at how patient and caring the staff is. I would highly recommend anyone needing emergency assistance to go here. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my baby girl!Katlyn Mckinney⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBeen here twice. Both times I received excellent and speedy care. I prefer this place over Moses Cone and Wesley Long ED.shashanka shesham Don’t even think about this place if it’s non emergency. Will take years to get seen by the doctor Jessica Poleo Almost two weeks ago my 8 year old was seen with a high fever, cough, and flu symptoms. They didnt test him for flu at all. They gave him water, monitored his BP, did an x-ray, and gave him Tylenol. Then said “Viral Respiratory Illness.” They said there was a little something on the x-ray but not enough for it to be pneumonia or anything. Well, his fever is gone now but his cough seemed to be getting worse. He went to the doctor today and they said everything described tells them he likely at the flu initially and it turned into, take a guess…PNEUMONIA. Every time I take my son here they say “Viral Respiratory :_” and never do anything else. Is that just the easiest thing to say to get rid of someone?!Dawn Riffell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have been to this ER 5 different times and have always been impressed with the level of care I have received. One of those times they actually saved my life for witch I am eternally grateful. Not only does every person who we have ever encountered there know what they are doing, but they all seem to be happy doing it. Cone Health MedCenter is NOT an emergency are clinic, it is am actually a full fledged EMERGENCY ROOM that has everything any hospital emergency room has. I would trust them to save me or any member of my family and I already have!N Galloway The sevice is slow as hell. I arrived at 7:45pm and by 10:00pm I still hadn’t seen the doctor yet. My reason for coming in was for a swollen knee. The nurse only gave tylenol for pain. X-rays we’re taken by 8 but still not evaluated by the doctor. Ridiculous!!jennifer roberts⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWow….what a great relief and a great help! The staff was so fantastic when I came in recently with a kidney stone. They literally rescued me…..thanks soooo much! The whole Emergency Department was spotless and new….couldn’t have had it better if I tried.Pat Johnson I like the nurses. Unfortunately I saw a Dr. Lunker. She would not listen to me, told me that I had a UTI and there was only one option left to her for treatment. She wrote a prescription for cefdinir and when picked up the pharmacists were alarmed at the harsh side effects. I took the stuff, ended up in Wesley Long emergency, hospitalized for two days. How many more elderly people will she do harm? I don’t know where you go for medical care. I like some doctors and some nurses but there are so many terrible ones.Kris H⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am very pleased with both the doctor and the staff. They are helpful and have great bedside manners. They were willing to take the time to make sure I understood everything.Lady Rice⭐️⭐️I am giving this location 2 stars because the check-in lady was nice and the x-ray technician was friendly as well, if not for that they would be given 1 star. First there is a ridiculous amount of wait time. At check in I was told it would be a 2 hour wait so after 2 hours I asked how much longer it would be, I was told they could not give me a time frame so it because they only have 12 rooms and 7 people were in front me and if goes and someone still waiting was there for over 3 hours so it could be 3 more hours. I asked could I just get the X-Ray results, but of course not because they would not be able to charge me. So I left and called my doctor this morning to get the X-Ray results over the phone with no extra charge. Also with the amount of patients this establishment needs to increase the night staff as well as provide a cafeteria or something besides the expensive venting machine. I will definitely not be coming back here I will drive to Greensboro if I have another emergency.Ceramene Louis Worse emergency room service. After waiting for couple of hrs in the waiting room, they finally call me for a room at 1:25 am the nurse told me to put gown on, it was 3:15 am, still no nurse or doctor came to see me.Chris Tuck The initial care was great and my discharge paperwork stated that if I still had symptoms a week later to call. I still had symptoms so I called today only to be told well you will need to come back in and be evaluated, which will cost me another $200 minimum. I was treated for strep it’s not like it’s cancer, you can’t call something in since you know what the problem is? Worthless follow up care!Marissa Trower⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedService was very prompt and thorough. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely would recommend this facility to anyone seeking care.Tee Crayton⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe doctors and staff are highly professional and show a genuine care about their patient’s care.Samantha Gaither I don’t like this place because I got there at 6:30 at night and stayed till 12:00 at night u litterally have to wait for a doctor like for two or three hours after u get in a room .George Orfanedes⭐️⭐️⭐️Staf is outstanding, but the system is awful. I was there Sunday nigh from 10 pm until 3am Monday morning for 15 minutes of total care of my bruised shoulder! Mose Cne Administration needs to get their act together – even the Er nurses voiced frustration with their system.Aj Stewart My 2 year old neice went in with a 104.7 fever Friday night. They sent her home to take Advil and Tylenol after a 4 hour wait and said it’s a viral infection so no antibiotics were administered. Advised to go to her pediatrician on Monday if no improvement. Went today and she has pneumonia and an ear infection. Do not go to this sorry place no matter what!Danielle Morgan Wait time was extremely long and it wasn’t even that busyAngelfacesinc The slowest ER in history! They used to be prompt but the last few times I’ve been here have been hell! Lets just hope you don’t have an emergency coming to this emergency room. They are slower than High Point Regional. Where are the doctors?bunny bu I stayed 6 hours at this place people were called before me and left before me i will not be back very rudeTommy Williams Worst care ever! My fiance went in today with TMJ flare up and they didn’t even give her muscle relaxers! It even says on the TMJ Organization’s website that one of the top ways to treat flare up is with muscle relaxers. We will NEVER go to this or any other Moses Cone location again! I highly suggest if you want good healthcare to stay away from this joke of a place.Frankie Sieber My nephew went to the emergency room and the staff there treated him like he was some kind of a experiment poking and prodding him when all he was there for was to see a doctor to get a prescription for the medication that he’s been on for the last decade for his high blood pressure. He then asked to leave and instead they called Security on him. The staff were extremely rude and the security which happened to be a high point police officer took his mother’s license plate number down which I can only assume is for further harassment. I would never go here because my experiences have been similar when I’ve been there this just happened to be the worst yet.Jason M⭐️⭐️Charged me $1,400 for some iodine to clean out some cat scratches. The PA was very rude. I only went because regular offices were closed. I would have been better off shooting myself in the foot and getting admitted to a real hospital.Montoya Boston Im in pain!!!. Ive waited for almost an hour.Nancy Rives⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery good care gone there for bronchitis attack and shoulder painLauren Dixon⭐️⭐️The receptionist that checks you in was very rude..the nurse seems annoyed and like i am a nuisance to her. Not pleased at all..usually cone health employees exemplify extreme customer service but apparently here they don’tJaime C⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAccess ability is very important! I came here today to make an appointment and I was able to been seen today :).mayasi perez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcelent staff, service, attention. Very quickly waiting time, was a really good desicition choose that hospital for my 4years boy.Dennis Steele This place will not answer questions or there phone!! It goes to a canned message about the phone is not in service!!Mob Jod⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe ed staff were friendly and super fantastic low or no wait timeKany Fofana⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEverytime I come I get exceptional and speedy care.Lorraine Gordon Rodriguez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThey are very caring and also their services for people are quick and easyKeshia Jones I have been bringing my kids to this location for about 4 or 5 yrs and I have never waited more than 2 hrs. Tonight my boyfriend waited almost 5 hrs to be seen until we left. We seen go in with us and left before us and when we left the lobby was empty. 1 1/2 before we left we was told we was the 4th patient and 2 we’re leaving at that moment then we were told to just wait because there’s only 1 doctor for 14 patients which clearly were not there. The staff was uncaring and the lady that checks you in at the front desk is rude with an attitude!!!!melissa flynn⭐️⭐️I went to be seen yesterday evening 6/27/13 for migraine and ear ache all they did was gave me 2 pain pills and charged me over $500 and told me to take Tylenol.. the drs was very rude.. I would not recommend anyone to go there.. from now on I will go to either Randolph hospital or high point regional… was very displeased with the service I received…Chandra Sama⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOne of the Best hospital in GSOAmanda Lawrence This is the worst place to go to for help the nurses have really bad attitudes and no patient for a child .Maybe I should try Moses next time .If they don’t like their job maybe they should of thought of a better career.Allen Beard⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommended Very professional from sign in to sign out. Caring physician, technician, nurses and clerks.O Bowens This is the worst hospital I have ever been to .. The staff & the doctor were rude & very uncaring .
