Before you go to Cone Health Wesley Long Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Greensboro emergency room think.
Jessica WrightThis facility doesn’t even deserve 1 star. This was my first and very last time ever bringing someone I love to this ER. NEVER!!!! I repeat NEVER bring your love ones here for any type of care (especially) if it’s an emergency. There are literally 13 people in the waiting room in the ER (which for include myself and my mother-in-law). You would think that with it being so few people that you wouldn’t have to spend a min. of 2 hours in the waiting room. This is absolutely unacceptable. And when I asked a RN about the situation she informed me that they didn’t have any rooms available for patients. What type of emergency room runs out of rooms on a Tuesday night???? The only time I would recommend this place is if you like sitting around and watching your love ones suffer. I can say the RN and the lady that drew blood that helped my mother-in-law was nice and extremely helpful. However, other than that drive the extra 20 mins to Kernersville ER (if possible) and you will see how a real emergency room is suppose to operate.Jason HerreraWorst experience anyone can have. If you are really sick and not feeling well do not come to this ER we waited longer than 9 hours to get seen worst hospital it should get closedBailey Ellis⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI would definitely come back here the PA named Sammy is very knowledgeable and very thorough in her work. She is also polite . And she has a wonderful personality that makes you smile Hannah Latoz⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had a really great experience at Wesley Long. I had to have a total thyroidectomy and my surgeon and his team were really wonderful. My anesthesiologist and his assistant were the best thing about the visit. They were very kind and made sure I was comfortable and calm. We had a few good laughs and I thought that was really fun. The room was very nice as well as well as the nurses who took care of me while I was there. I definitely would recommend Wesley Long.Parsu gautamLots of people not coming to hospital because of waiting. I been waiting here 6 hours. They always have not enough room. Cone health, you guys need to do something to minimize the waiting time otherwise one day people will find different way to treat them self.Torita WallerI have never in my life been so disappointed by health care so called professionals before.. Im in pain daily from falling there. They did not care about me at all. Very Rude …No compensation for falling on there floor..That had water on it from a food cart! Short therapy and cut me off . Nasty Unfair. No Not A chance to get a follow up from the Orthopedic..DISAPPIONTED..DONT GO THERE..Debbie CaudleI have had two orthopedic surgeries at Wesley Long and couldn’t have been treated any better, so when my 90 yr. old mother fell and broke her ankle I requested that she be sent to Wesley Long. We had to wait in the ER in another town for over 13 hours being told that her room at Wesley Long was not ready. Finally upon arrival on the 5th floor we had to request water, toothpaste, towels, etc that should have been in her room when we got there. That was not a big issue to us but seldom did we see a nurse and even when I requested to speak with the nurse about concerns, she never got back to me. On the second day I requested that she be given a bath since she had wet herself the night before and no one ever showed up to bath her. When we asked questions, it was as though we were a bother. The nurses in general were so unpleasant and did not make my mother’s stay pleasant for her or the family. Now my mother begs us not to ever send her there again. I can’t express how disappointed I am in the service provided. It made us feel that the care of the elderly is not important to them. I truly hope that others do not have the same experience. My mother has now been moved to a rehab nursing facility that is absolutely wonderful and couldn’t be more caring.Destiney JonesWish I could give no stars worst hospital I’ve ever been to in my life they need to be SHUT DOWN issue every time I come hereAyoo Scope⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff genuinely cares about you . Very transparent !Layton JohnstonMy friend was in a car accident and was injured. We drove him to the ER. He finally went back to be assessed after waiting over an hour. He was sent back to the waiting room after just a few mins. After 2 more hours he was called back again for a scan. He again went in the back just a few mins and came back. He was told “results would be in within 30 or so minutes”. An hour and a half after that we spoke to the nurse at the counter and she said we only had 3 patients in front of us. It is now over 6 hours since we arrived at the “Emergency Room” and still have no results. The worst part of this is that there are patients that have been here 2+ hours longer than we have. Do better Cone Heath Wesley Long, you’re legitimately killing people.Lauren K.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBest experience at a hospital ever.Went into Wesley Long to have surgery done, and I was treated like family.Doctors Melissa Cross,Shawna Phelps, and Emma Rossi were the most kindest, patient and understanding doctors I have ever seen. They answered all my questions(even when I asked the same ones over and over again☺)explained every procedure that was going to happen, and calmed my nerves down when I felt nervous. The nursing staff was wonderful also Miss Sophia,Brianna,Lela,Terri,Patricia,Mackenzie, and too many others to count.Melissa checked up on me and looked out for me as if we were sisters. They were all only concerned with my comfort. The housekeeping staff and food service staff were great. The days of bad hospital food are over If you have to go into the hospital definitely go to Wesley Long.Thomas BosherI have been here for 6 hours so far. Haven’t even been seen by a doctor yet.Nichole St JamesDO NOT COME HERE!!! The staff outside of the nurse taking vitals is rude and dismissive. The check in lady doesn’t seem interested in processing patients based on their pain levels. Still waiting in the ER after my fiancé came in complaining of a severe headache, chills and extreme sweats. Been here for 6 hours. It took 5 hours for them to do the simple lab tests that the nurse ordered. If I would have read the other reviews first I would have taken him somewhere else.Taylor HicksI arrived at the ER with symptoms of a concussion. I had been in a fight days prior to but I wanted to wait until I was back in town. I arrived at the ER at 10:05pm, was finally taken to the back the FIRST time at 11:30pm. It is currently 1:35am and I have yet to be back to see a doctor, I haven’t even seen anyone be discharged from here since I’ve been here. My body has gotten worse since I’ve been here and the staff moves with no purpose. I would not recommend to anyone. This is my second time being here period and neither times have I been seen.KevinI would rate a zero if I can the er doctors are terrible and the surgeons treat you unfairly never coming back again they barely do exceptional careJohn McalisterScheduled for a procedure at 1, nothing to eat after midnight,, 1:50 still waiting, apparently double booking is the norm at this hospital. I’m sure billing will not be as delayed.Tim BylandWe are here now….3 1/2 hours…no one seems to care the my 84 yo mother in-law need attention. We are about to seek help from an alternative. It’s now been 5 hours…we were told only on person is in front of you. Does anyone care …???? 4:46 …our name was called. Let’s see what’s next. 7:36 PM…finally had a visit from the Doctor. MM is being admitted. So, it’s good we stayed, but why is medicine so frustratingly slow???Cady Lynne⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The staff and doctors were absolutely wonderful. Clean and modern facilities. My only complaint would be the cost of services. This is obviously a systemic problem, but needs to be addressed. Medical costs are ridiculous and unwarranted. With that said, if I have to spend money, it’s going to be here. I was highly impressed with their treatment.Pamela Harris⭐️⭐️⭐️So yeah , u know it’s a hospital, and I am glad it’s there to help people.Doreen LongoZERO STARS. Never in my life have I ever been to a hospital that works on 2 speeds, slow and reverse. Then to be RUDELY confronted in the waiting room by Wendy Munro Asst “Director” because this clown didnt like my review, is a real embarrassment. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.mellogianamy mother was checked into the hospital and now they are saying she’s not in here and won’t give me ANY INFORMATION ON WHERE MY MOM IS! We don’t know if she got transferred or released.Ebr akeSlowest ER that I have ever experienced. I wonder how many people have died waiting on help in the ER? Triage is non-existent.Sabrena Mejia⭐️⭐️⭐️Was there to check on my baby after some recent bleeding, the nurses and doctors were so kind but there were a lot of red flags, they didn’t ask me enough questions, it was concerning when the person who came in and told me she doesn’t have experience reading ultrasounds and couldn’t figure out which was the baby and which was the yolk sac. Not a terrible hospital when it comes to bedside manner but some things were alarming.Joanna GonzalezPut my family member who was obviously mentally ill in danger. Even after my husband took him there and made sure to leave his contact information, stressing that he was his emergency contact, he could not get a hold of him. Hospital discharged him and would not give my husband any information. Can’t believe in 2019 any hospital would operate this way. We will be lodging a complaint and speaking with the Chief of staff. Do not trust these people with your loved ones!Charlie DeeJust look at everyone else’s reviews if this isn’t enough. Me and my sister have been here for 5 1/2 hours and still currently waiting. She has been violently throwing up and severely dehydrated yet no fluids have been administered nor have they had a room available. I asked if she could at least be placed in a hallway bed and I guess her case isn’t as important To them as it is to her. This is absolutely ridiculous and without a doubt patient neglect. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone died or fell extremely ill due to their lack of response. Not to mention I also asked if we could be transferred to another facility and they said “no it’s too late at this point” really???? Wow. Last but not least I ask how long they think it could be and they have no idea but in their system they said they had ‘several’ dirty rooms that should be opening up soon. You mean to tell me y’all had dirty rooms an hour and a half ago and nobody has cleaned them yet? Obviously patients here are not their priority even when violently ill.k cover 4 hour wait. got here at 10, still waiting and haven’t heard a thing.Iisha HollandI do not recommend if you’re seeking emergency care. While the staff was nice it does not make up for the 4-5 hr wait to be seen. And I don’t need my vitals checked every 30 min. I needed IV fluids. I attempted to avoid getting care here at all cost by going to urgent care. However, I came here on a referral from the urgent care nurse. At 7 weeks pregnant and the inability to eat for 6 plus days, you would think it was an emergency. I guess not. So here I lie in pain in my bed hoping my doc can squeeze me in her schedule ASAP. If you can, chose care elsewhere or you will likely waste time here.Roland HerreraThe absolute worst experience from check in to the triage. Clearly people go to an ER because they need to be seen and NOT wait up to 4 hours to see a physician. I waited for 30 minutes. In that 30 minutes, I witnessed 3 different patients request to see a nurse manager because they had been waiting with sick family members for 3-4 hours. The very unprofessional nurse manager thought it was a good idea to have a full discussion in the waiting area for all 20 patrons to hear instead of having a private discussion and in my opinion violating HIPPA. I witnessed those 3-4 patients walk out of that ER to seek care elsewhere after 4 hours of waiting. The waiting room patrons were not silent about how long they were waiting. The whole ER was talking among one another. I was actually triaged and got my vitals taken by a medical assistant. I eventually left. To my surprise I received a bill for services rendered and was billed as not having insurance to boot. My insurance card was the first thing I offered to the check in receptionist. Another example of how poorly they process incoming patients. I notified patient experience and the administrator of the ER to reconcile this bill since I did not believe the hospital can bill for a medical assistant. Apparently the hospital can so now I’m paying for poor treatment and for services I could have gotten free from a local CVS. Patients beware. Do not give this poor excuse of an ER your business. I will never return. I gave them an opportunity to make this right to not avail. The poor experience is definitely a reflection of their employees and the leadership that allows this type of care to occur this day and age.Terence KeemerNo One Should Have To Wait 5 Plus Hours To Be Seen. What’s The Deal? Can You Explain A 5 Hour Plus Wait Time?Madelaine J. WatsonDeeply shaming to the patient, repeatedly. One staff tells pt. that she was not presenting with the problem pt.stated. Pt. questioned a couple of things (not medical treatment), and nurse ridiculed pt. It was again, an awful experience. However, I strongly praise a couple of the RN there…. they were abundantly professional. This happened last time in ER.Cynthia CovingtonI have been sitting in the ER since 10:30 am. It is now almost 2 oclock pm and I still haven’t seen a Dr.Shakira ParisAbsolutely the worst! My elderly grandmother was in a 4 car accident, her being in the first car that got hit multiple times by different cars. She was brought to this hospital by the ambulance. Moments after we walked in to see where she was a lady came busting out running from the back with multiple staff members & police officers chasing her. Word is she may have stole something or whatever. They couldn’t catch her so whatever she did she got away with it. The lady at check in told us it took about 20 mins to get them in the system so come back up then. When the 20 mins we’re up we went back to the desk to try & get some info & we see my grandmother in a neck brace & wheel chair sitting over by the end of a row of chairs by herself where someone had just wheeled her out there & left her there. We roll her over there where we are & she has pieces of glass still on her chest & is in a lot of pain. We sat in the waiting room for hours constantly asking them what’s going on & plucking off glass & trying to make her as comfortable as possible. They call out for her the first time & didn’t give us even a second to wheel her up to the door before the nurse went back in & closed the door, keep in mind if we weren’t there she would have been expected to wheel herself up there I guess? Someone finally came back out & called her name again so we rushed her up there. This was the first time she had even been to the back since waiting. They took her back for x-rays where the nurse was asked to not push her too quickly over a hump on the floor they had at the opening of the door she did not care to listen & did it anyways with her explanation being “there’s no other way to push her”. She brought her right back to the waiting room where we continued to wait for hours with her moaning in pain & complaining of being cold even with warm blankets on her with only her blood pressure being checked out in the waiting room. When asked again why she was still not being treated we were told there’s nothing they could do bcus they didn’t have any more rooms & there were more critical patients being treated as if her situation wasn’t critical enough. When she finally got back to “see a doctor” it was like a second waiting room. Finally they did more x-rays & it turns out she had fractured ribs & toes, whiplash & slot of brusing. Totally unexceptable experience!Jessika WilliamsWorst hospital experience I’ve ever had. Staff extremely rude, doesn’t have any compassion for human beings. You will literally die waiting to be seen by a doctor here. Rode the ambulance there and was never seen by a doctor.Michelle HCame here for treatment for a kidney infection 4 days ago. Got there and they did my vitals and initial triage pretty quickly. I peed in the cup and was told to go back to the waiting room. The waiting room which smelled like dissection day in biology class. By the 6 hour mark of waiting on results from a pee test, I realized my breastmilk was soaking my shirt so I left to go feed my child. I checked MyChart to see if there was even results posted up and I was just waiting on a doctor and saw nothing until 2 1/2 hours after I left. So I would have been waiting about 9 hours to be seen for results of a pee test. I then emailed the dr about my results, which seemed positive but I was unsure and asked if I should come back in and have yet to get an answer. At this point, I doubt I will get an answer. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at an emergency room. I will try to seek treatment elsewhere.Sue Anne WadeThis is the worst treatment I have experienced. No one talks to you. When you do happen to get staff attention they act like you are out of line if you ask when you might see a dr. I came here in an ambulance because my back pain was too intense to ride in a car. They stuck me in a chair in the waiting room. Absolutely tragic!Annya RolandI dont see how yall recieved a A for anything. Yall are sorry and treat patients with neurological problems like they have a common cold. My sister sat up there for over 6 hrs and yall done no help what so ever. She was in so much pain all she could do was cry. After yall she told yall she couldn’t sit up straight in a chair she has to lay down and cant have all the light yall still didn’t give a damn to help her. Just let her sit there in pain. In a hard chair she clearly told yall she cant sit in. Even ask for help to go to the restroom and no one would help when she physically cant walk. Had other patients telling the nurses that she really needs help and they blow her off. Wesley long is the worse hospital ever. You are better off driving hours away to seek help then going to the hospital in your own area.tia michelleThe absolute worst ER EVER! I understand wait times but damn…there’s no reason I should have walk into an empty waiting room and then as people come in AFTER me they all get called and I’m still sitting here in the waiting room writing this review smh. Like I’m completely appalled…I don’t even want to talk about the front desk staff just no customer service skills at all. JUST SHUT THE WHOLE HOSPITAL DOWN!!GloriaWorst hospital ever!!! Both Cone Health, they will lie about the wait and think it’s ok to have people waiting. All they have to do is their job but yet that can’t do that right… Nc have the worst nurses and doctors ever!!! VA is the best by farSara BowdenIt was a very unprofessional experience! I was In severe pain due to having a very painful abscess and after they took my vitals they told me “Just have a seat in the waiting room until we prepare you a room” I literally sat out in the waiting room from 10:25pm until 2:00am, until I just couldn’t take any more and left. I will try my best to avoid this hospital! THEY ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, and the TIME MANAGEMENT SUCKS!Ann Jones⭐️⭐️I have filed my concerns online on 12.27.18 so I will wait to hear back but I will say this I have never seen such breakdown in communication within the same organization that I experienced at this hospital. Maybe they need to hire a company to teach them on how to give good customer service and patient care to ensure their external customer’s experience is positive. I have just read thru the comments about this hospital and it’s embarrassingChocolate RoseThe length of time you have to wait to be treated in their waiting room is ridiculous.. I have been seating here with a family member for several hours.. this is the second time I have been here with them and experienced the same thing. I would never come here for treatment but unfortunately we have to been our family member here because of their doctors. Something has to change to provide better care for their patients in a timely manner.Nate MIf you want to spend 8 hours in the waiting room with a 103 degree fever, no pain meds or fluids or any attention while hundreds of people with a “slight cough” go in before you, this is the hospital for you!Deborah SullivanI was taken to this so called hospital. I was slapped by a nurse and when I made a complaint I treated like a lier. They blew me off. This was witnessed by my fiance and he saw the mark that was left. Don’t trust this place!!! They will abuse the patients and patient services does nothing about it. Time for them to answer to my attorney and the medical bar!!!!Christian G. Manuel⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWesley Long is my usual hospital of choice. They are the second of the two flagship hospitals in the Cone Network. Depending on what time of year, you can get in and out of the ER depending on your condition ( Something that people have a tendency to forget ) This is a true story, they have always been very supportive. And I will leave it at that. People should be considerate that when you go to the ER, your wait times are going to be long regardless of the situation. Not a fan of the Moses Cone Network, but Wesley Long is probably your best bet, if you need urgent care. Moses Cone…welp haven’t been there in years, but Welsey Long will get you in and out quickerKadeliah LeslieThis hospital is TERRIBLE. I’m convinced I could’ve died and they still wouldn’t have noticed.brenda flores⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOn Dec. 3rd I had to have a full body bone scan with IV fluid that had to circulate thru my body for 3 hours before they could do the scan. They also scheduled a full body CT scan for the same day. No food until after the CT scan. They went out of their way to fit my CT scan in soon after IV was administered so I could go and eat something while waiting on the meds to circulate for the bone scan. They all were so very nice and made the tests much easier. Thank you Radiology staff and nurses and technicians! Also had 2 iron infusions a week apart and those nurses, technicians and volunteers made me very comfortable and gave me food and drink and were very friendly and nice.Richayla ChamberlainThis is great but too long for good service Caroline AttmoreMy 3 yo son had bite through his tongue, and it made the shape of a hook, where the tongue had a flap. We waiting for 5 hours for nothing to be done. (5 hours for a 3 year old is horrible!!) I now know that Moses Cone has a children’s center, in which we were not told in the beginning. I feel that this could have made a huge difference with the whole procedure. In the end, the doctor’s did not do anything and said that it would heal. Luckily, we went to our own pediatrician the next morning. One look and the doctor told us it needed to be corrected and sent us to an Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor. Once we arrived there, they looked and then started to schedule surgery for the next day. Our Ear, Nose and Throat doctor said that had this not been corrected with surgery, our son’s tongue would have been forked. Sad that it only took less than a minutes for both the pediatrician and ENT doctor realize that this needed attending to, while the emergency department said that nothing needed to be done.Joy BlairMy husband was taken in by ambulance at 4am..we followed and when I went to check in the employee at the desk acted like we were interrupting her music she was playing on her headset..she said we would be called back once he was set up in a room..my daughter and I went to find a seat and while there were 5 people in the waiting room another lady came in extremely sick and was told she would have at least a 7 hour wait! WHAT? 7 Hours? Needless to say they left but as we looked for a seat we became so grossed out by the waiting rooms appearance, there were barfbags under the chairs, blankets on floor, trash on tables and floors, glasses of water with straws dripping and wadded up tissues on tables and floor..we were afraid to touch anything! I’ve been going to both Cone and Wesley long for years and have never seen a hospital so filthy..no wonder people are getting so many infections in the hospital.. Posters were posted all over about being voted one of the best hospitals..please! They obviously are not paying attention to the surroundings and lack of compassion of patients in great need of help! After waiting over an hour to be called back I asked status of my husband, the employee could not locate him in system as I spelled everything she then said..” oh we’ve been so busy (yet she had not gotten up once) she proceeds to fill out our pass and said u can go back.. Once in the room a male nurse who may know his job but had no clue how to communicate with his patients and had no bedside manner.. Not to mention wearing scrubs that all you can think is he needs a bigger size cause the last thing we wanna see is his underwear above his waistband and his belly every time he moved his arms.. A nurses aid carrying on conversations in the hall with profanity being his primary language! Our experience to use the bathroom was even more disgusting.. I literally put gloves on to go in it…you name it is was on the toilet, trash can running over with puke all over the it..Look I know people are sick but dear Lord with what they charge you would think investing in a cleaning crew during the middle of the night is just as important than a crew coming in at 7am! My daughter said mom if I ever get sick please don’t bring me here.. I could continue with more disappointed experiences but would rather plead to Wesley Long to please re evaluate your priorities and place someone in charge who will see that change needs to happen in order to be the best hospital they claim to be..Healthcare under these circumstances is only bringing more sickness to our city!morgan bagley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’m not one to leave reviews. But I was at Wesley long tonight for about 6ish hours for bronchitis (which I was expecting being in the ER) and let me just tell you the nurses are so friendly and attentive. I’ve never felt more comfortable than I did there. Yes I waited forever but like I said it’s totally expected in the ER. But I left feeling so much better and the whole time I felt like I was in great hands!! The staff is amazing!!!! If I could give them more stars I would! They seriously rock!!!Kevin KearneyWish I could give zero stars. Awful experience, the doctors did a terrible job of diagnosing and caring for my dad. Never bring someone you love here unless you can’t get to Duke in time.tim dawkins⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent support for my 83 year old Dad, had to have 6 staples, staff did a great jobD Dalton⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat care on 1508. Unbelievable attention.Melitta RogersThis place sucks. I’m going somewhere else when I leave.Latisha IngramThis is the worst hospital I have ever been in life. Thhe nurses are rude. They are very slow and don’t care please don’t waste your time here!Nehmoni McCoyTHE worst!! Came in with my 4 year old, why has it been an hour & a half & we haven’t been called. Everyone is just sitting around aimlessly. DON’T COME HERE!Marisska HoodSo after 6 hours I am still here in the waiting room. The receptionist is rude, saying she doesn’t keep up with wait times. First and last time I will ever come here.
