I had a very difficult birth and they just made sure I was as comfortable as possible and I felt like I was in good hands through out the whole process.Michelle Hutchison This place needs to be SHUT DOWN! My father was admitted after being confused and in pain. They didn’t even get the first test done until he had been there for two days. He was there for 2 weeks and they only did 3 tests never gave him a diagnosis. Never would give us updates on what was taking so long or what they found but before they finally sent him home gave him a shot of morphine for his back. WELL they overdosed him! Once he got home he fell and the ambulance took him to a different hospital where they had to administer 3 doses of Narcan!E Werbeck If there were a minus category, I would give them a minus 5. Substandard nursing care, dirty floors, overflowing trash, major safety issues. They left my mother in a bloody gown for more than 24 hours, when I asked for a clean gown the girl said “we don’t have any clean linen”. It became abundantly clear that these nurses are union workers. UNACCEPTABLE!rekrap raib Only one doctor had any decent bedside manner. Took forever to get my knee looked at and both the rooms I was put in were disgusting. One had blood stains (and some other stains that I couldn’t identify) and the other had a random urine sample and dirty gloves. My brain surgeon Dr.Palladino was amazing and so were his staff. Unlike the other hospitals in Syracuse, tv is free as well. I had a few issues here though. They are very packed on the floors and under staffed. It takes a very long time for your nurse too get to you. I’m on a narcotic called Suboxone and one of the nurses kept folding it strange when she gave it too me, I unfolded it one night to find out it was missing a huge piece. Turns out she was stealing it, I reported it immediately and was reprimanded for informing the wrong person of the issue. The nurse was neither drug tested or questioned. They literally covered it up and didn’t bother doing a thing about it. I don’t blame the hospital because they did so what I was there for and took take of my problems but I blame certain individuals. I would only recommend the Neuro department. We have all medical records from Cardiologist from Mercy Hospital in Miami. We want to do surgery in Crouse Hospital because it’s close to our family to get better healing and more support from family. Dr. Frey staff requesting Dr. Matthew Gorman staff to call their direct number so they can send all the medical records. Cardiologist Mercy Hospital Miami office are very helpful and willing to to give all medical records to Crouse hospital. We gave the number to Crouse hospital front desk lady at Dr. Matthew Gorman’s office but they had lots of excuses and rude. My husband called for three times and my Mom in law called just this morning. They hung up on my husband and my Mom in law when they were still talking. They don’t care about someone’s life need medical treatment immediately. This is regarding life threatening and this people don’t even care for a bit. This is against their mission they put in website “ Our mission is to provide the best in patient care by exceeding the expectations of our patients and to promote community health.” They clearly don’t do the best for patient care and they clearly don’t exceed the expectation from their patient! This experience also against their vision and values. One of their values is “ Respect – honor, dignity and trust”. They clearly don’t respect us. This is beyond unbelievable and not how hospital should be treating their patient or future patient. This morning after my Mom in law got hang up but the cardiologist office. I called the Crouse Hospital patient complaints and spoke with Diane. I told her what happened how my husband tried to follow up from Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday. On Tuesday, when he called the front desk even said “oh i just got here i don’t know anything”. You don’t have to rudely answer like that when my husband did all efforts to follow up if they had the medical record from Mercy Hospital or not and when the appointment will be. Put yourself on his shoes, he just got diagnosed his heart condition is getting worse and he want to do surgery in Syracuse close to his family. He may or may not live longer even he has this surgery. And when he tried to make appointment he got all this difficulties. How stressful that can be? Diane from patient complaints called the cardiologist office and Tracy office manager called me that they have his medical records and urgent referral from Cardiologist Mercy Hospital Miami but they can’t schedule any appointment because of their accusation that my husband is yelling to the staff and he got blacklisted from Crouse Hospital for any kind of appointment. Wow this is just beyond unbelievable. You know my husband’s life in danger but instead of saving live you want someone’s hang on die and beyond that accused and discriminate him. Why did none of your stuff told this when my husband’s called and you waited to tell this until I called patient complaints dept. I was there when he called and he wasn’t yelling. He has deep voice but not yelling. He can’t even yell because if he is yelling his heart stop beating and thats not good. He told them how stressful and unprofessional it is to make appointment. Furthermore, why did the cardiologist office hang up on my Mom in law this morning instead of telling her this? Why did you tell this to me after I called patient complaints? They let someone’s life in danger and could be die waiting for appointment. Discrimination in this world is real. We just witnessed another one today. Go somewhere else to spend your money for medical reasons. For all “non emergency” issues which they themselves deem to be non emergencies they put you in a real room with a bed for 10-15 min and act like there taking care of you. They then do some tests and or imaging. But Then they take you out of that room and make you sit in this new room they built in the back. It’s a new process they implemented and it’s awful. The new “after you’ve been seen waiting room” becomes so packed and no one comes to tell you what’s going on. You just sit there. Even a lady with a iv just sat there. And please note they were not that busy. There were open rooms all over which I saw. They literally put you in a real hospital room but then take you out and put you in this new waiting room while your waiting on your results. It’s pure hell. Whoever implemented this new polIcy is a complete moron and should be fired. It’s worse than an urgent care because they act like they give you a hospital room only to take you out and make you wait on a chair. So please please do not go here unless you have a real bad emergency then they might let you stay in your room. Have been there a handful of times for different reasons based on convenience (closest hospital). I will not make this mistake again. My most recent visit was for a knee injury (couldn’t straighten my leg or walk/ put weight on it without extreme pain). I had just gotten back from an out of state trip and went straight to the hospital from the airport because I knew it would be a long wait once at the hospital. I would”ve rather gone to urgent care but I wasn’t sure if MRI’s would be needed (which they were) and typically the urgent care’s around here only have X-ray machines. I waited a while to be seen , expected at an E.R.. Once in a room I was examined and was told they’d need to do X-rays. I waited about an hour before anyone came in and when they did they asked if I had been taken for imaging yet. I told them I hadn’t and all I knew was that they said I should get an X-ray. This person left and I waited another 45 minutes. At this point I was starting to wonder if they meant I was getting X-rays done here or if this was something I had to pursue on my own. When someone finally came in to bring me to get the X-ray, they came across as frustrated when I told them I wasn’t really able to walk to the imaging room (wouldn’t you look at the chart to see what the reason for the x-ray is? knee injury usually means can’t walk or can’t walk comfortably). By the time someone came back with a wheel chair I had been in this room probably close to a total of 2 and a half hours. The imaging specialist needed different angles of my knee (fair), but I explained that I wasn’t really able to get into the other positions comfortably. She told me I needed to, otherwise there wasn’t really a point to doing this. By this time I was exhausted after traveling for easily 8 hours on a plane, waiting in a hospital for 2.5 hours and getting sass from someone telling me that if I don’t hurt myself more by doing something uncomfortable, the whole process was for naught. So I did the best I could. They wheeled me back to the room I started in to get dressed, then they dropped me off in the “intermediate” waiting room which I stayed in for probably another 45 minutes. I understand that a knee injury isn’t the most pressing thing at a hospital, but they weren’t busy based on the number of rooms I saw open and the amount of people in the waiting room when I first came in. I was ready to just say screw it and leave at this point. They put me into a different patient room where I had no idea what the next step was, or what was really going on and I waited for close to an hour for someone to come in and tell me it wasn’t broken (I could’ve told them that much from the get go, it clearly felt like a soft tissue injury), they couldn’t find anything wrong with it, and to go home and ice it and take pain killers. I was unable to walk, unable to straighten it, and unable to drive (right knee needed for gas and brake). Therefore I was unable to get to work and left with zero answers and over 4 hours wasted. With that all considered and after waiting in the hospital for over 4 hours with incredibly poor patient management and bedside manners to be told to go home and ice it, I was livid. I went to SOS the next day and my knee did in fact have something wrong with it enough to require MRI’s, multiple steroid shots into the joint, medication and months of physical therapy. Needless to say, this last visit to Crouse was the straw that broke this camel’s back. Finally, this past week, Upstate Community Hospital correctly diagnosed the issue and removed my gallbladder and a large stone that was lodged in my main bile duct. She was admitted and treated with the utmost respect and caring during her final days. A cab was called for her. It was suppose to pick her up at 6pm. The nurse brought her down to the lobby. Now 3 hours later my mom is sitting in the lobby waiting for a cab to pick her up. I called to check to see where she was. The nurse said she was discharged at 6pm. I asked where my mom was. Its now 8pm. No one checked to see if my mom got into a cab or not. The nurse should of checked on her or sent someone to make sure my mom got into the cab ok.Chelsey Lee⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I went to Prompt Care to begin with hoping I had just a vitamin deficiency, but the PA on call there was rude and belittled me as a patient. I was beyond less than impressed with his bed side manner. However, I was sent over to the ED and was taken care of pretty well. I was set up for a cat scan almost immediately, and following that I was set up with a neurology resident Tom Pitts, who was beyond amazing. He was more than enthusiastic to help me with everything that I was having issues with, and seemed more concerned with my ability to improve than any other Dr. I have ever been to. I was profoundly impressed by his bed side manner. He was everything you would hope a Dr. would be when you are in a medical facility anxious, and worried while waiting for prognosis. Soon after they set me up to have 2 MRIs to rule out possibilities. I didn’t receive my results before I left because the radiologist was not in, which is understandable being a Sunday. But it was frustrating the following day trying to follow up for reports when the clerical staff just kept transferring my call in a circle. Eventually I just called my neurologist and asked him to retrieve the reports and call me with the final word. All in all I was pleased with the level of care I received. The last time I had an issue that needed prompt care I went to Upstate, and received far less appealing care, and absolutely no tests and was told to go to a specialist despite the level of urgency my issues were causing.
