When he was transferred to his room the RN we have was the sweetest and caring lady ever. I’m so thankful for everything they’ve done so far. Hopefully the stay is short. The entire time my family member was here, he was treated very well. The ER was absolutely packed the night he was taken there, but everything was done in an orderly fashion. There were plenty of employees on hand, which helped to make thing run smoothly. As I have already stated, my family member was transferred to a private room late that night. When we visited the next day, everything was orderly, clean, quiet, and nice. The hospital is very clean, things are marked with easy to read signage too. We had the opportunity to eat in the cafeteria, which is your average cafeteria. There is a Grill, for burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, and fries. There are ready made salads, as well as a salad bar, drinks, and other snacks. The price is a little high, but it’s what you expect. There is plenty of parking, so don’t worry about that. They are open all hours, and ready to help you with any of your needs. When it came time to check out, the nurse noticed something else about my family member, which was immediately taken care of. Thank goodness! Thanks, Good Samaritan, for taking wonderful care of my family member. She was on the fourth floor the first admission and from beginning to end the stay was pleasant. Second admit she started out on 2nd floor Observation and the care there was amazing I wish I could remember all the nurses, Techs, Respiratory, Dialysis’s names> I stood the night with my mom and she got the best care. The Doctor was just so informative and Gentle. When the staff said they would be back to check on my mom or give her a treatment they kept their word. Dialysis nurse was busy when I went to go see my mom during her treatment and he got me in the hall to see if I had a questions and let me know what was going on with my mom. They kept me in the loop and we made a plan to get my mom better. The communication was amazing and lets don’t forget about the monitor techs that monitored my moms telemetry and 02 sat. They called the nurse right away when they seen oxygen go down. They deserve so much recognition for they are life savers that are not seen. The hospital was so clean and quiet. Every department was so nice and offered assistants if needed. even respiratory offered to get me a blanket. I can’t say enough good things about the staff but Thank you It ment so much to me and my mom felt safe. You truly feel supported and well taken care of throughout the process!AC Anderson Update: The hospital confirms that this disregard of proper medical practice is their normal standard of care. Not surprising. Their doctors have a very poor grasp of pharmacology, which is terrifying given the setting. Their doctors flagrantly perform malpractice and lie in their medical records. This hospital is a disgrace to the medical profession. They told me the wound on the left would heal fine, did a mental health eval while I was still sedated, and shipped me to a hospital where I wouldn’t have access to medical care. The photo on the right is a week later, when a surgeon evaluated it as needing immediate surgical treatment and IV antibiotics as at that point I was going septic. I have had several surgeries, ER visits and other in and out patient procedures done at this hospital over the past 7 years and would recommend them to everyone.Cole Wilson⭐️⭐️⭐️Delivered our baby here and we had an awesome experience with the doctors/nurses/hospital stay, however, everything afterward has been terrible. To summarize, Good Samaritan gave us our hospital bill before leaving, which we paid in full, as I would find it to be the correct thing to do for the services rendered. It looked reasonable for matching what our insurance plan was (they were unable to provide an itemized receipt upon request). However, it turns out that we were not supposed to pay anything close to what our bill was. Unsuccessfully, I attempted to have a productive conversation with them over the phone and in person. Consider this odd, but I was told by the staff at Good Sam that they do not look at or have access to my health insurance plan copays/coinsurance through Kaiser and that the bill we received was just an estimate. They have also found it necessary to professionally point the finger at Kaiser because they had not yet paid Good Sam (Kaiser has informed us that they have yet to receive a statement from Good Sam… 6 weeks later. Kaiser has also informed us that Good Sam does, in fact, have access to our insurance plan and we were told that Good Sam is notorious for doing exactly what they did with us). All in all, this has just been a big case of poor communication between 2 large companies. Kaiser has been helpfully informative and polite throughout the process, while the staff at Good Samaritan has been more worried about defending their decisions, pointing fingers with excuses, and uninterested in improving upon the problems I have brought to their attention. Again, from what we’ve heard this is not uncommon practice for this hospital, so I would advise caution and further inquiry.John Reefe This is the worst hospital that I have ever been in. My doctor sent me to the ER because I had very low sodium levels and my creatine was way higher than usual. He also sent orders for a chest x-ray. I was admitted in overnight, when it was time for my medications at night they didn’t even have the drugs that I have to take daily. My daughter had to go get mine from my house so I could take them. They also never did my chest x-ray. My son was hit on the side of his eye with a golf club and needed stitches. NP Kathryn did such an amazing job with the stitches and her bed side manner made this visit the best one I have ever had. Thank you Kathryn!Melissa Nielson Just left The ER after going in with severe abdominal pain. They ran bloodwork, urine, and a CT. When everything came back normal the PA came in and said “well, we don’t know what’s causing it. Follow up with your primary doctor.” My primary doctor had sent me to the ER earlier in the day. I was quickly discharged. They gave me some muscle relaxers and got me out as fast as they could. Also noteworthy is that not ONCE was I asked what medications I was on, while they gave me pills for nausea, pain, etc. If I had to do it again, I’d go somewhere else.Tami Bellender Went to er. Very unprofessionalism im this hospital. 0* if i could….Zander Martinez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Took good care of my mom while she was admitted, but Mindy from the ICU is probably one of the rudest nurses I’ve met my whole life, the first night my mom was admitted she says “yea so looks like she’s most likely not gonna make it.” Keep in mind there was nothing that made this factual or indicated that that would happen and me being her youngest son gave her no right to break that kind of news to me the way she did knowing I was there by myself, every other nurse there had offerd me a pillow or blanket or anything at all and at least tried to make me feel better, and I can say for the time I was at Good Samaritan Mindy was rude and the definition of cold ecspecially to people in these situations, maby pick another profession Mindy because this one does not suit you. Doing a job where you don’t have to interact with another human being might be best for you ‍♀️Bobby Bates I’d give 0 stars if that was an option. Before I was even looked at to see what was wrong with me, people were in the room asking me for my personal information for insurance purposes and an officer was in the room asking for proof of insurance on my motorcycle. I was not involved in an accident with any other vehicle or person or property and my error was not due to breaking law, it happened because it was dark and I was on an unfamiliar road, so to need my insurance as soon as I was rolled from the ambulance into the ER room is incredible. I felt the same way from the probing questions from the staff as I was just wheeled into the emergency room in absolute agony. Every member of staff was rude because I was not immediately signing the documents and accepting the full treatment that they recommended. Although I was explaining my reasons for it neither of them respected it, which is okay, but to treat a patient who is in agony poorly because of medical preference is and amazingly horrible characteristic of healthcare professionals. I simply asked to see the X-ray that they took and have somebody show me and explain to me what types of injuries I suffered instead of just telling me what happened and what treatments I should accept. When I ask to see the X-ray I was treated poorly because they felt I should have blindly accepted their treatment and they felt me asking to see and have realtime explanation of my injuries was questioning their medical expertise. Eventually after a while I was told “this side of the hospital closes at 10 p.m. so you either need to admit yourself or leave”. Just like that. It’s the ER. It’s open 24/7 and I could tell it was not a busy night. I asked for pain meds to help with the agonizing pain I was in and was denied any type of treatment or prescription or help because I would not sign and accept their FULL RECOMMENDED treatment. Not partial, but FULL. Even though they knew from the x-ray that I had 3 broken bones (ones that heal without surgery or treatment (ribs, etc). My friend was by my side and witnessed their rudeness and lack of care and was questioning them on why they would treat a patient this way. The response was, “if we’re coming across that way we don’t mean to”. I was eventually able to get up and walk myself out of the hospital. My thought was, if I do need assistance it sure will not be from these Healthcare “professionals”. I’d crawl to a different hospital if I needed care. Doctors and anyone else in the healthcare profession need understand that they go through continuous education and are always “practicing” medicine. They DON’T know it all. And some treatments and medications that are recommended today eventually get found out to be damaging and wrong. I ABSOLUTELY respect them for what they do! They have saved countless lives and have helped countless people so I don’t mean to come across unappreciative or not respectful of them. But these particular “professionals” and the hospital they represent should have taken lessons from the EMTs on how to actually care and respond to and actually help patients. The EMTs were absolutely wonderful! Every cognizant and coherent patient has a right to choose for themselves which treatments they accept and which ones they don’t based off of various reasons. To be treated poorly, and having an all-or-nothing approach to patient care, because of personal choice is absolutely ridiculous. Case in point- Here we are 9 days later and I’m feeling well and have returned to work for the past 3 days. It was clear from the get-go that priority #1 was (insurance info) payment first and care was of secondary concern. I got up unhooked my IV and monitors as afraid. I was going to die. I want to know why no mention of this showed up in my medical report. It should have been investigated. I. Should have gotten legal advice. IS RON STILL WORKING THERE?sannerb8 I have had a horrible experience with Good Samaritan and encourage everyone to drive 5 more miles and not use Good Samaritan’s ER. The doctor asked me 2 vague questions and then diagnosed me with something that I did not have. They gave me medicine that made me feel like cockroaches were crawling under my skin and then kicked me out of the ER in a blacked out state. I strongly encourage you NOT to use this hospital! I was not contacted to discuss where my child was to be placed. When I expressed my concerns of possible abuse from the facility where they decided they were sending my child, I was told that they were not willing to stop the process. I have worked with many hospitals for similar circumstances and this is the only one that has ever done this. Every other hospital I have ever been to was quick to make sure my child did not go to a facility I have expressed concerns about. The nurses were awesome and as helpful as they could be, but the drs and upper management and the patient advocacy people were rude and I have never had that many people lie to my face about what they were doing. Nope they sent him home even though hes admitted to having seizures. Nothing better than to make a depressed alcoholic man feel like hes worth nothing to not help him when hes down. The case management team is not! They insisted on transporting my mother from the hospital to the physical rehab facility via AMR ambulance service, rather than letting us drive her ourselves. The case manager, Sue Lynn, insisted this is the only way for everything to be covered by insurance. Not only was AMR terrible, but it wasn’t covered by insurance at all! They charge by the mile and drove my mother 30 miles out of the way – adding nearly an hour to her transport between the hospital and physical rehab center. The ambulance was in very poor condition, and they just strapped the wheelchair in the back “cargo” space – a metal echo-chamber. My mother was completely rattled when she arrived at the rehab facility. The driver was rude and denied that they are paid by the mile, but the invoice shows that they are paid by the mile. The ride was booked by the hospital and was supposed to be covered by insurance, but AMR billed my mother directly and then bullied her for a payment of $460 – saying the wheelchair rental wasn’t covered by insurance. We have our own wheelchair and would have provided it if they or the hospital had been forthcoming. What a scam!
