Before you go to Hospital Medical, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Oroville emergency room think.
Jessica BrockI truly hope this new hospital they’re building will also come with some serious improvements to the quality of care provided here. As of now and the last 20 years or so, its by far the absolute worst hospital ive ever been to and ive lived all over the U.S. Im honestly suprised its still up and running. Fingers crossed they get their s*** straightened up so we can finally have some decent health care in this town for a change!Monteal AckleyI’m no internet review basher but I am pretty positive this facility is in violation of any and every health code, HIPAA laws, security, etc. Patients we being triaged where you would expect to see a admissions clerk with a full waiting room just feet away where anyone and everyone could view/hear if they so chose. We were not admitted nor given a wrist band for entry, just told to go back to imaging where none of our information was verified and our tech based his x-rays off our story regarding where injury was instead of reviewing actual orders. We were not read any results just told to leave and call urgent care sometime. The hallways were littered with hospital beds, most of them visibly soiled or with notes stating such. Needless to say we felt more of a concern for our health just being in the building instead of feeling relieved or with adequate care.. All i can say is thank goodness we weren’t being seen for anything life threatening, my best advice is the 20 minute drive to another facility is worth it 10 times over.Sandy KaneShut this place down and start over. This town is growing and we really need better than this.Krystle BoyerWaited 3 hours and not a single person from the waiting room was called back to be seen by a doctor. They made an excuse that the extra people from the Camp Fire made things busier. Bull! There was only about 10 of us there and you’ve had almost a year to get more employees. The lack of attention and compassion was atrocious!Amber ShackelfordAbsolutely atrocious excuse for a hospital ER. 6 months ago I witnessed a man being pulled out of a wheelchair by a guard and OPD in the driveway and left him screaming in pain for hour and half because he couldn’t get up. The wait time is agonizing and no triage priorities. My mother has had severe chest pains and trouble breathing and has waited up to 10 hours and didn’t even see a doctor. She has gone home with the logic that if it is her time she would rather be at home than a s*** hospital. This has happened numerous times and most cases with an ambulance transport.Brian AdairI had my appendix rupture and after 5 hours of waiting a doctor never seen me there. the next day I went to ride out in Marysville in the same 5 hours I was diagnosed and about to start surgery. not only that but the staff at Oroville ER is either lazy or rude. I told them that because of my abdominal pain that I couldn’t sit in the chairs any longer. the nurse said “oh sorry to here that you can go lay out in your car if you have someone in here to listen for your name. 5 hours no treatmentJessica KingOnly giving one star because no stars isn’t an option.Brought my 6 month old in because he was having a seizure . I was asked how old he was and then left standing in the waiting room for 15 before taken back. I was told she was getting a “room” ready when in fact we were taken to a random hallway and put on a bed. She finally came and took his temperature and asked if my baby always acted like this ? No lady my baby doesn’t always seize up with a blank stare on his face and unresponsive . They put him on a monitor to track his heart rate and oxygen levels . The battery died and I had to hunt someone down to replace it. The hospital never sent over the CT results to our pediatrician . We were never put in a room . A random guy walking by offered us some pillows and when I started to nurse the baby I was handed a towel to cover up with (mind you he was covered with my shirt) the people who did the CT were awesome and offered us some blankets because it was freezing .Nava JoseTheir process is too slow I understand they want to take their time with each patient, but there is times where they’re just sitting there talking amongst each other and drinking ice.Erica HendryI highly recommend not going to this hospital! The hospital is dirty. Staff in the ER are extremely rude and bias based on other patients who just go in for minor issues. In my opinion, if you’re in the medical field, you need to be a caring person and treat everyone as kind as you can. Most other hospitals have a policy that puts the patient first. I witnessed a man with shortness of breath , a man who cut his hand on a table saw fingers all mangled, man throwing up for hours, older woman with heart rate of 40, a guy had a stroke, all got told they will have to wait until they can get to them. A woman with severe chest pain was waiting for 13 hrs and hadn’t been taken to a room or a bed. The triage nurse turned patients away to have them go to another place only to be sent back to the ER. Those patients waisted their whole day running around trying to get seen only to be put at the back of the two day line. Patient Rights do not exist at this hospital. There is no privacy for triage, you just announce your personal information to everyone. Here is the HIPAA rule was his hospital violates: What Information is Protected Protected Health Information. The Privacy Rule protects all “individually identifiable health information” held or transmitted by a covered entity or its business associate, in any form or media, whether electronic, paper, or oral. Then they charge your insurance for doing nothing. Scam. If I could rate they would get negative 0. Update still in waiting room after 9 hours. Staff is very rude and unhelpful.Mistie Van Noort⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHad to take my son to the emergency. We thought he had appendicitis. They took him straight back. Communication was great, tests were done. They were thorough and kind.Alyssa YountTry the Chico or Paradise hospitals instead. If you can’t make it out of town, just stay home with a bowl of soup. Oroville sucks and the doctors don’t know what they are doing. All they will do is make you wait 4+ hours in the ER, another 4+ in a room, see you for a minute, prescribe you ibuprofen, then send you home.Deanna MagenheimerMy fiancee was a patient there. I would say 90% of the employees were horrible!!! After his surgery while still out of it from the anesthesia, when the people we’re trying to wake him up he was flustered and said everyone back up for a second. He was a little confused and needed to get his bearings. They all, about 5 of them, we’re talking all at once right up in his face! When he finally fell back asleep this one woman kept waking him up asking him if she could put the CPAP mask on him. After the fourth time and him saying no, I told her don’t wake him up again. Just put the damn mask on I told her!! The people who try to do blood draws or start an IV are a joke! The only person who was ok was actually a student?! In fact they were doing it completely wrong. I went to school for Medical Assisting so I’ve done the whole needle thing… He was suffering from an extremely high carbon dioxide level in his blood. One symptom is confusion. They didn’t take that in consideration. He became combative. It was a nightmare!! He’s doing better now because the carbon dioxide levels have dropped. Don’t ever go to this hospital!!! Then couple of good employees don’t make up for the number of incompetent ones!!Bob DeanWorse emergency room ever . Waits ate up to 7 1/2 hours that I personally waited with Pancreatitis . Waited 5 1/2 the day before . They have people showing up in Ambulances that just walk out the front door cause the wait is so long . There are people who shouldn’t even be In an ER for what’s wrong with them . Stay awayGeorge TitusThis place is hell on earth. I went in extreme pain from what was later found to be kidney stones. I went at about 10:00 AM and was told there was an 8-10 hour wait. The triage nurse sent many others who arrived later in before me. I was told if I left and came back I would lose my place and have to start the wait over, I could not go lay down in my vehicle, i had to stay in the waiting room. After waiting all night that night I was still not seen by the next morning. They would not share any of the test results with me, I had to wait to be seen. After 20 hours I gave up and went to Enlo in Chico and was seen almost immediately. If I could give them a negative rating I would. This place needs to be audited by the appropriate authorities and either fixed or shut down. That this is the only emergency care in Oroville is a crime against us all.Majid HamidiThis is the worse hospital ever I’ve been also it’s so dirty and most of the (staffs) are rude. Not all of them. And there’s no respect for your timeShawnski Montana22I’d rather go to jail.David ThaoPrice of **** service, period! Go elsewhere.Terry HicksWe came in with my wife in exstream pain in the reception desk acted like it was no big deal.tryed to discourage us by saying it will take five or more hours to see anyone.Several people in lobby crying out in pain with no Attion from nurses walking by.We left and went to emergency room in paradice,ca.They were in it she had car scan in twenty min of arrival. The hospital is very dirty the staff have there nose in air like there better than haveing to deal with you.If you don’t want to be employed by hospital get another job.People depend on these nurses and staff for care and they display there not careing for everyone to see.Not friendly very short and like I said tryed to talk us out of my wife getting Attion there.Leah NovakUpdate 4/19/19: I blame the ER and their disgusting practices that is causing the spread of measels. Think about it: you have measels, you go to the ER, you wait 14 hours, people without measels come to the ER, wait 14 hours, contract measels, get fed up and leave, go to another ER (God forbid) and spread it more. Look at the waiting room. It’s gross. It’s a petre dish. There is a US Marshall dressed as a nurse in between you and the triage nurse. Let that sink in: instead of fixing ANYTHING about the hospital, they hired a marshall to curb any discontent on how they do things. You literally talk to the marshall about your personal stuff going on. This hospital is a HIPPA nightmare. It is still just as bad as ever. If people didn’t go to get a morphine shot and then use the room to be monitored and sleep it off, it wouldn’t take 8 hours to be seen, and beds wouldn’t be filled up with people needing shots of morphine if the clinics would prescribe some pain medicine but they don’t! Open a pain management clinic!!! Stop wasting resources!! The ER is DISGUSTING! A veterinary office is cleaner than this. Everything is filthy. Nobody cares about cleanliness. I guarantee staph is spread like wildfire in thete. The floors are covered in dirt. The chairs are torn open and smell like feces. I am afraid to touch anything. There is no ventilation. It sells like a bathroom hamper in there!!! NO JOKE!! The problem is, they do it in order, not by case by case or severity. Suffering? Too bad, the person who stubbed their toe us going before you. More insulting is when a parent with their child comes in and they “fell on the sidewalk and got owwies”, you would never see such brevity by the staff to admit the child for what can arguably be trivial reasons. This is a common occurrence. Call it cold hearted but let’s be realistic here, people are waiting 14 hours to be seen at this ER, priorities need to be taken. This place needs to be condemned, it has clearly been neglected got decades, I have watched it deteriorate, no changes, no improvements, quite the opposite. The health board needs to investigate this ER.Sarah HeadCan I give them a negative one this is the worst hospital Iv ever been too the same people have ben sitting in the waiting room for over eight hours me an anthor might possible have internal bleeding an keep telling use there busy when multiple workers are standing around plus have not checked vitalsSan VanThis place sucks. When I have to go through ER here, all I worry about is the wait. Front desk is rude and so are all staff members. I had to go in 2 days after having a c-section because my incision started bleeding again. I went in at 6 PM, wasn’t seen until 12 AM, and didn’t get a room and provided care until 1 AM.
