Before you go to Jersey City Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Jersey City emergency room think.
nog barbaraIf you have an emergency don’t go there. I arrived at 7am was left sitting down in the hallway the entire time. Had to talk about my issues in front of everyone had my blood drawn and IV put in that same hallway! My nurse changed twice I didn’t know what was going on. All of that to say that I was discharged at 2.30pm. I spent 7h30 in there. Also there are cockroaches walking around! Good luckYihao ChenSuch unhelpful and rude staff. Gave me incorrect info about update health insurance info. Told me I can do over phone and then asked me to come in person. Didn’t get solved after 2 visits. Unbelievable. However, the staff in admission near the lobby is much more helpful and friendly.vincent riveraThere rude and focus on only one of the symptoms which the treatment for that one symptom could cause some harm to the other symptom. It’s like if I walk in saying my bones are aching and I’m throwing up. There only focusing on the commuting and not the task that’s in front of themTommy GonzalezThis hospital is truly horrible the doctors seem to not know anything or don’t even bother to check your file to see what the patient needs are. They do not inform you what is the game plan with the medical treatment. We around 3 am no breakfast was given to my wife around 8-10 am lunch came at 2:30 PM this was the first meal they served my wife thank God I went out in the morning to get her some food from outside the hospital. My wife is pregnant and eating for two so picture how they allow this to happen. There is a God sent nurse that has been by me and my wife’s side practically the whole shift. I really could keep going on but pretty sure my point has been made. I advise you all to stay away from this location I hope they close this place down!!.Pooja DwivediWorst place for emergency..I went to ER around 1.30. did all formalities by 1.45 they asked me to wait in waiting area. I was having heart palpitations… And I was pregnantI told the receptionist also but no response. They got me to emergency room around 3.30. worst place for ER.Clarissa CorderoI was just in the ER. I had severe back pain that was causing pain also in my stomach, nausea and chills. They gave me fluids, pain medicine. They did blood tests. After 5 hours a resident doctor comes in asks questions, touched my stomach and says she thinks my symptoms are part of my menstruation. I’ve never had these symptoms during my period. An hour later the ER doctor says I have an UTI. My iv had just been removed and I was ready to leave when she asks the nurse to put another iv to give me antibiotics. I was sent home with a prescription for nausea and Keflex for UTI. I decided to go to my doctor and gave him all the paperwork they gave me. Well he said I don’t have an UTI, which I was sure I didn’t, and Keflex is not to treat UTI, is for skin infections. I was diagnosed incorrectly and given wrong medication. What would have happened if I had a life threatening condition and would have died?? People you are handling people’s lives. Will never go there.Billy Fitzpatrick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEvery staff member I encountered here was incredible. I recently went to the ER with severe stomach pain unknowing that I had to get my appendix removed. The time from admittance to appendicitis diagnosis took a bit, but nobody should expect an “in and out” trip to the ER. I arrived shortly before shifts were changing, so I was handled by multiple nurses and doctors before being sent to the OR for surgery. Specifically, the night and overnight ER crews on 2/13 (Dr. Thomas as one shining example) and the OR crew the morning of 2/14 (led by surgeon, Dr. Schrag), but everyone in both the ER and the OR went out of their ways to explain my situation and make me feel comfortable. I’m only a day post-op, but feeling great thanks to the supportive and professional ER and OR staffs at JCMC.Rossell Alvarado⭐️⭐️The front desk is a little rude and NoT proactive at all. My first visit here, I waited SEVEN hours for someone to call me in to draw blood!! The nurses who did finally help me were very nice but its a hit or miss really. However, The nurse in charge of the triage was very unprofessional, cold and dismissive. I actually had the “pleasure” of getting her both times and she was even MORE dismissive the second time around. I has questions and she was not listening to what I was saying. She just kept repeating the same thing over and over again. I wont be going back this ER again. I wont say all the experiences are bad but both of mine DEFINITELY were.Ryan Meese⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went to the ER here and was treated with a lot of kindness, patience, and most importantly thoroughness from many staff members. My best experience with any doctor/hospital. The rating is low so I wanted to make sure to leave a review. I would definitely recommend this place as an ER option in Jersey CityAnthony FloresDon’t come here unless you really have toSusan TorresWhere do I even begin. The fact that I have to even give 1 star is upsetting me as we speak. I took my son last night to be seen due to his doctor’s office being closed and he was crying of pain. I took him with a 102.7 fever mind you he is 4 years old and he was crying of extreme pain in his stomach. Instead of him being seen they sat us down in the waiting room for 3 and a half almost 4 hours. Not to mention the hospital had a baby sitting there in the waiting room with a split eyebrow and bleeding. Instead of take at least the poor baby inside to get treated asap, I over heard a man tell the father he’ll be seen soon. Oh and they also left a mother and father sitting in the waiting room while they baby is throwing up all over the place. When I said when they were taking my son in, they told me I had to wait until a bed is available and my son will be seen after they see 5 other patients(this was between 9:30-9:45pm when I asked). They do not care how sick your child is or if you baby is bleeding with a bad wound. I was also refused a note to allow my child to go back to school. Point is, if you want to waste your life away just sitting and not being seen then come here. But if you value your life and health as well as your children life or health DO NOT COME HERE.David Austin⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent in on a Saturday around midnight, took less then 5 min to get triaged, and was seeing a doctor within an an hour. A more serious visitor before me was seen almost immediately. Staff was courteous and professional.Abhijit BoseI had to take my 2.5 year old daughter to Jersey City Medical Center ER around 10pm. They had us wait for an hour, then told us that it will be close to 1.30-2 AM for a pediatrician to see her. Yup, that’s 4 hours wait for a 2.5 year old having respiratory issues and flu. We waited till about 1AM and then left the ER without seeing a doctor. If you live in Jersey City *and* need to go to an ER *and* can ride a car/Uber for 20-30min, just cross the river and get to Weill Cornell or Mt Sinai in NYC! For all the development in Jersey City, sadly there is no decent ER/hospital when you need one! 1-star is too generous for this place.Paul Mendoza⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Great care and very attentive..Dayana FebresUnfortunately I have a son who in his first year of age has had more hospital visits than I can imagine. He is a cancer patient, I say this because my feedback will be based on the fact that this place was absolutely disgusting. The emergency room was dirty, the staff seemed plain dumb, at no point did I see someone using a glove and just the hygiene in general was just a shock, it was so dirty. If it wasn’t the closest emergency room I had while I was there I would’ve never taking my son.Vanny DominguezWaited 6 hours for an x ray result, unbelievable. Terrible experience… Stay away.. go somewhere else… R. Zhu⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEverybody was incredibly nice.Vijay Jonnalagadda**Alert** Annoying experinece even while in case of Emergency you have to wait atleast 4 to 5 hours to see the doctor. Never encourage this Medical Center until and and unless you dont have any option furthermore.Tako TamiI am 42 years old ,4kids mom.I have 2days newborn and at home and emergency took me with 240 blood pressure..and it was worse evening innmy life..absolutely doesn’t care what’s will happen with you..so many drunk trapped in and i was drunk from smell during 4 hour..and nothing,, i could not see doctor ,,becouse they during this time laying me lika a they are cleaning some room for meet with a dictor..terrible serviceChang Wook LeeStaffs and doctors are extremely rudeElizabeth ThompsonOnly one person in the ER seen concern about patient her name is Lucy, the rest avoid given answers or taking extreme time to complyEmail AccountWorst hospital ever been to none of the staff care about anything or even compassionate do not bother going here travel somewhere else as you will just wait here anywayeddy graterauxgarbage
