Before you go to McLaren, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Lansing emergency room think.
Megan Richberger⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI just had my second daughter in the birthing center 10/30. The doctors were wonderful, and I really want to also give credit to all the nurses that we had. Every one we had was SO nice and helpful. I have anxiety and my labor/delivery nurse, Amy, was wonderful helping me through everything making sure I felt safe and secure. After delivering my daughter, Amy brought in Trish who helped me clean up and get ready to be moved to another room. She was awesome too, made us feel so comfortable! Each nurse we had (Amy, Trish, Amy, Deb, Jeanette the lactation consultant and a few others I unfortunately can’t remember their names, and even the med students) we felt went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable. We left feeling like we had gotten some rest, and that our daughter and I had been in the best hands. Thank you for exceeding our expectations and making this a wonderful experience!LJsully⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy daughter was born at McLaren 18 years ago and it was a fantastic experience, every bit of it!! Fast forward 17 years and 363 days and we brought get to the ER in acute pain. Tests were run and she was admitted. She was treated with kindness, thoroughness, patience and expertise, every step of the way. Everyone from the intake person to the doctor, resident and nurses were fantastic and did everything they could to alleviate our worries. We are grateful for everyone there who helped our daughter!!MOUNTAIN⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was treated wonderfully. Dr Mohammed did a good job . I’m recommending the McLaren emergency room. Staff included. Thank you so muchCynthia Wolbers⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedSmart enough to know that ER is going to busy. And worse cases go first. My experience was excellent was treated with dignity and respect from everyone that took care of me.Ahmed SufyanSorriest excuse for a hospital. If you want to be treated like dirt you are welcome to come to McLaren. The rudest most inconsiderate workers I’ve ever encountered. Their lack of doctors and residents is appalling. How can there not be ONE female OB/GYN doctor In the entire hospital. Most unaccomadating facility I’ve experienced. Save yourself the trouble. EDIT: I forgot to mention, the only saving grace was the nurse Trisha who upon realizing the hospitals mistake apologized profusely and tried her best to smooth things over.Noelle Tanner⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedDr Perry, ER NIGHT DR, is hands down one of the most amazing doctors I’ve ever been in the presence of. She is so careful, gentle and caring. My boyfriend had a cyst drained the other night, and we ended up back in ER bc the previous dr didn’t drain it correctly, ie it got infected. I’ve never seen him in that kind of pain before and she was so gentle, tried her best to make sure he was as comfortable as possible. She went the extra mile for us, and if this continues we will be back to see her!! If you see this Doc, we appreciate you so much!!!!!!Julie KeelerI will never come here, I’m only visiting a family member and the staff is HORRIBLY rude. Third floor nurses are impatient and have zero communication skills. Severely understaffed as it’s taking hours and hours just to see the Dr.raquell conley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI will come here from now on. I was in an urgent care that morning and then symptoms became much worse on my way to pick up my prescription, I flew into here and they got right to it, and didn’t waist any time. Fast service great staff. Attention to detail. They didn’t do 12 other things that weren’t needed they got right down to fixing me.Mary l⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was in last week because I cut my hand. I got there was checked in, got 11 stitches, and was getting discharge instructions an hour later. The care was amazing! This was my 1st time ever getting stitches and I was very impressed with how quickly they had me stitched up and on my way.lucas herman⭐️⭐️⭐️We had our first two kids here. My kids and wife are safe and happy. My 1st wasn’t bad but my 2nd everything had changed. No sleep and little help. We just had our 3rd at Oaklawn and i could not recommend them enough compared to Mclaren now. Again they did nothing wrong but It was a nightmare and we couldnt wait to get home. At Oaklawn the nurse’s are amazing and so are the doc. They actually care and help. While at Mclaren it felt more like a do it your self we are busy.North Country⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedJust love this place they’re really good. I’ve been here several times for blood clots and PE’s…. they’ve done a wonderful jobMike JokischER is a joke. Brought my wife in with a sickness and extreme dehydration. Was told after she gets an IV she’d be sat in the hallway to wait and see how the fluids work. She told them she felt too weak and needed to lay down as sitting and moving was making her feel worse. The nurse explained unless see was hooked up to monitor that was their procedure. The compromise was being moved to a bed in a hallway with zero privacy. And this hardly seems an overcrowding issue as there appears to be plenty of rooms in the ER. Waiting now to see how she will continue to be monitored and will update this review.Zac ViettiEvery time I have been here the first thing out of their mouths is we don’t prescribe narcotics and opiates for things. This being the case I am not even willing to go to the er despite being in excruciating pain from my ear. I truly believe it will get 10 times worse in their er before I get any relief. That means the er isn’t worth going to anymore, at least not for me.Colin Wilson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Came into the ER due to pretty severe pericarditis. Was treated very professionally and they ran thorough tests to ensure I was stable. Everyone I worked with was pleasant, especially my nurse on cardiac 4th floor. The young guy with the gold chain, give that man a raise he was stellar haha. Discharge paperwork was incomplete, lacked information on recovery / limitations, that’s my only gripe. All in all though, a positive experience. Follow up appointment with my cardiologist was great too, Dr. Kang. Very helpful staff.djv djvMy mom is there now on 6th floor her nurse is rude as heck tried to kick me out and yelled at almost each of my family who had the pin. Never called her emergency contact on file when she gets released she will never go back. 3 months ago they said she was fine now she has c fib and a bunch of other things wrong. If they continue to be rude she will get transferred. When I give PIN number they ask if I talked to her and transfer me to her roomChris McElhoneonly communication between doctors and patient/patient’s family has been when the family/patient insist. Doctors don’t talk to each other. Procedures ordered without consulting the patient, inappropriate medications prescribed. This place is a mess–new building won’t help.alyssacaaanflyWORST EXPERIENCE in a health facility EVER! Waited 1 hour, bouncing from one side of the building to the other being told 10 different things! All I had to do was get an X-ray done ordered by my primary dr, well they couldn’t even tell me the copay and then they told me my insurance may not even cover it… ALL after admitting me… I ASKED 10x how much my copay would be BEFORE the X-ray and nobody was able to tell me at all. I waited 30 minutes for someone who was supposed to be able to find out for me – NOTHING! I told them to shred my info, delete me from the system and I want everything back – STICKING WITH SPARROW!!!! Most unprofessional ladies I’ve had to deal with, very rude and condescending…Katie RobbinsDO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE AFLAC!!!!Debbie HayThere accounting department is a joke. They had to have our deductable paid in advance the day before my husband’s procedure. We paid what they said they needed to have. Later found out that after BCBS PPO processed the claims we had been over charged according to our EOB’s. Called on 4/3/19 and was told a request had been sent to put our credit back on our HSA and if it didn’t show up to call back on 5/4/19. Called 5/6/19 and still had not been processed for a refund to wait another few more weeks.Elisa Pope⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThese people are amazing! I had the worst pain in my life from a broken tooth last night and couldnt even think or hardly see from how bad the pain was. I expected to have a long wait, and i think i sat there for maybe 5 minutes. I was completely shocked at how quickly they got me in to help me. The nurses gave me a pain blocker in the jaw via syringe, and i was able to sleep last night to make it to my dental extraction today. You guys are so wonderful, youve treated my grandmother and now me, and every time the staff is wonderful and caring, and the service is fast!Melissa Williams⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedLove McLaren for the birthing center. My first was an emergency c section in 2015 and most of the nurses were awesome in controlling my pain!! Second was a Vbac in 2017 and all my nurses were great keeping me calm. Plan on birthing there again in November. Absolutely loved Kimberly!!Marlette Malone⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The only reason that you are getting 4 stars is because the nurse that I had was AWESOME, I love your phlebotomy tech she AWESOME as well, and the physician’s assistant was AWESOME as well. But the rest of your hospital sucks. I was taken to a room in the ER last night. Was NOT given a call light after the man left. That’s a violation in patient care. Then when I was given a call light the call light didn’t work. Had to wait 45 minutes for someone to come by and check on me so I could use the bathroom. More violations in patient care. Doesn’t seem your hospital cares to much about patient dignity either. Curtains left open while a patient is being examined. The way that your nursing staff was talking to a combative patient last night. It seems some of your nurses need to work on their customer service skills.Marjorie⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy experience with this hospital was in 2016 when I gave birth to my child. The teams of nurses and doctors who were by my side were all phenomenal. If I have another baby in the future, I will go back to McLaren without a moment of hesitation.Brianna Beebe⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommended24 hours ago my child was super sick had a seizure, we took him to McLaren the doctors and nurses were super attentive got him to stop getting sick even gave him 2 popsicles. All around awesome care. And he is ALOT BETTER. I will never take my child to any other hospital. Never have any complaints each time we have went there.Nette W⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I went in for a procedure that i needed done. Found out later that i was at the wrong campus. The lady that checked me in remebered that i said that i was dropped off. She found me and drove me over to the correct campus.Maribelle GarciaHorriable experience.. Took my daughter in to go get checked out go in fast nurse came fast doc too.. But when it came time to draw blood took 4 nurse to try and no luck… Then to wait half hour longer to just get x-ray ultrasound pic of her side… By this time daughter was feed up with wating and still with IV in wrist.. Cause thats the only spot someone could try to find one just left in with no med just there for HR.. We was DONE and left.. So with 4 or more pokes and free water and x-ray that’s all she got.. Walked out with no answer.. Then they act like it was her fault.. But funny not hers .. No one could find her vein . a joke i say!!Robert Sawyers⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOld building but everyone is nice and friendly….the best people from greater to the doctors ….I would highly recommend.Julie Monroe⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBrought our 22 month old toddler to the emergency room for a first degree water burn. We were quickly checked in and seen and checked out in 1.5 hours with treatment and prescriptions. The nurses on duty were super helpful and caring and attentive which means a lot to two scared first time parents. I appreciate the time each person took to speak to us, answer all our questions and check back on us multiple times. I don’t know if the speed was due to the crying baby or just how quickly they got everyone through the emergency room, either way, the care and service was much appreciated!Lori HornerI went in this morning for a simple blood draw. After waiting more than 30 minutes with only several people ahead of me, I saw the lab techs talking so I asked how much longer I would have to wait. They told me they didn’t have any orders. When I went back to the admitting desk to find out my status, the woman was very rude and told me she was still processing people who were ahead of me. My blood work order was still sitting on her desk where she had placed it when I arrived. Obviously, I left extremely unhappy with the incompetence of the hospital staff without getting my blood work done. 45 minutes of my time wasted, and it was as if I had never even walked in the door when I walked back out.Kris SmithAfter 2 visits to a family member at this facility, I am completely disappointed and concerned due to the conditions That I personally witness, Including Unprofessional and rude staff ,morning shif., Unhealthy unsanitary dirty conditions.. I would highly recommend and suggest that you find other means of services other than this location. Or just find a way to stay off the 3rd floor entirely.Michael CalhounStopped in for a routine blood draw and had to wait almost 2 hours, could understand the wait if they were busy but in the 2 hours we were there probably 4 or 5 people got called back for blood work. Nobody seemed to be in any hurry to help with the exception of the financial aid person who did try to intercede as we had another appointment within the hospital that we were late for. The lab people couldn’t have been any slower if they wanted. This was absolutely the worst visit here ever.Scott Baumann⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy wife gave birth here, and mostly everyone was absolutely awesome. The first nurse was… okay. She talked with flat monotone voice that didn’t make you feel very easy. Luckily though when she left we had Tamica (I believe that’s her name) and we couldn’t have asked for a better nurse. Between walking my wife through everything, explaining every process so we have no questions, making us laugh, having a great personality, and just a great person in general made the thing a lot better. Please, give her a raise or something, you can’t put a price on that type of service We also had Dr. Maser, Dr. Hughes, and Dr. Maynard. (not sure the spelling) All of them were wonderful and so great to us, and I have nothing but great things to say about this trip. Whenever we decide to have another baby this is where we will have it done.Shayla Ruth Rademacherridiculous, disorganized staff, half stand around talking to each other, took over an hour for anyone to respond to the call light, sat in the room for 2 hours just waiting for a CT, my nurse had to litterally be tracked down by another hospital employee, the doctor is no where to be found and when I asked to see her I was told they’d send her in when they saw her, pretty much a refusal to find her, nothing done for what I came in for and no answers on what they plan on doing either. Half tempted to rip the needle out of my arm and leave. No one in this so called hospital has done a single thing for me and I will NEVER be returning.Lisa Piper⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedLive in GR. Came to be with my daughter, who had a terrible exacerbation of her asthma. She was in VERY bad shape. I stayed overnight with my daughter, in her room. EVERY single employee I came acrossed, walked past, etc..were SOOO very nice, helpful & just good ole descent people! They were WONDERFUL to my daughter, treated her with true caring & compassion .I cannot think of enough GREAT things to say about McLaren Hospital! If I lived here, McLaren would be my #1 hospital – without a doubt! Mrs Banda⭐️⭐️Waited almost 4 hours in the ER to get a antibiotic for my 11 month old. I was told by my nurse that it could take up to 8 hours! Very upset about the attitude I have received today. I have have 3 csection here and had wonderful experiences, so it must be the ER in general. Not a happy camper.Jeannie Cochrane⭐️⭐️My husband is a cancer patient just beginning chemo. He has to go to the lab for blood draws every week for the next 12 weeks. So far the first 2 experiences have been less than stellar. Both times we were told we’d have to come back later. (Williamston lab). He went into the hospital (emergency) 3 months ago, it seems we have had stressful experiences from the beginning. Just about everwhere we’ve gone affiliated with McLaren. He had pneumonia, had a stroke and now has cancer, he does not need the added stress from a place that is supposed to help patients feel better, not add to their anguish and stress. The biggest excuse has been “well we have a new computer system…” NOT the patient’s problem! But they’re the ones who seem to suffer the consequences. About the only good experience we’ve had are with the nurses both in the hospital and in home care.Jason VickersHORRIFYING! I WENT IN FOR SOME BREATHING ISSUES. WHICH THEY WERE ABLE TO REGULATE RIGHT AWAY. .NEXT THING I KNEW 4 NURSES WERE STANDING OVER ME., ADMINISTERING NARCAN, A DRUG USED TO REVERSE THE EFFECTS OF DEATH. . IT WAS EXTREMELY PAINFUL KINDA LIKE BEING ELECTRICUTED. PAIN SCALE 1-10, I GAVE IT A 20. Before I knew it they were very loudly @nd demanding telling me to get up and go. I could not even respond, the nurses threatened me with more of that horrifying medicine. I noticed it was shift change, so in my mind they are getting rid of me before the new shift came on because they knew they were in the wrong. . I now today i suffer from involentary Body spasms that started shortly after the incident. Not only does the memory haunt me throughout every day I live, but my dreams are effected as well. Absolutely the most craziest, scariest ordeal I’ve ever experienced.Carol VeroniMcLearn systems and practices are horrendous and are not focused on the person/patient but on the almighty dollar.Karen MoceriTried to call the hospital for a room number and waited on hold forever, so called back a second time., still no answer. What is the problemt raven⭐️⭐️⭐️The hospital is fine, you can tell how tired the nurses are – clean. Its fine in person but god forbid you ever jave to call them!! I have been on the phone for hours for the simplest thing and I’m getting transferred back and forth constantly. My god, if you can just do what you can online because3 all the numbers go to corporare offices, long wait times, and you have to re explain your situation. A waste of time that I do not havecharles powell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I was seen by a nurse and a doctor, within an hour of arrival very informative about my injury and kept my spirit high, in the face of very acute pain!Paul OJibwayMcLaren Greater Lansing overestimated my insurance copay, overcharged me, and is still holding on to the money 24 days after I demanded they return it to me. It’s been 57 days since they overcharged me. When I went in for a procedure, I had NO intention of LENDING money to McLaren at 0% interest. McLaren, if you need to borrow money, do it from a lending institution at the going interest rate, and NOT from your unsuspecting patients. I’d rather drop dead than to have you take advantage of me when I’m in poor health.SHAME ON YOU!!!Lis Holly⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWas actually afraid to have surgery at McClaren as my experience in Emergency in the past has been awful. However, I have to say that the Surgery Department rates a 5 star in all regards. Have been to a number of other hospitals, including UofM, for surgery – and none of them begin to compare. The professionalism, care, compassion, explaining everything – in every department – could not have been better. Even though there was a 3 hour delay for my planned surgery (due to an emergency) all went well. Kudos to McClaren Surgery Department! And to my surgeon, Troy Ferguson!Cadillac Builder10 min to get a room an hour to talk to a doctor then another hour for an x-ray then 2 for some results then after being told they want a cat scan we wait an hour now going on 3 hours for those results. Such a waste of time and if you were wondering it’s not busy in here .Carol RohrerThe rooms in the ER are too close together. A phlebotomist was attempting to draw my blood, the patient in “room” bed next to mine somehow bumped a tray, this tray hit the phlebotomist. She had the needle in her hand, my vein ready, leaning in and bame!! Thank god, the needle was not near my arm. My nurse witnessed this, ran out and never returned. Eventually, a nurse appeared and made an excuse for the delay. All around bad experience. and will never return.Jenna Laymon⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommendedthis place helped me so much. I only waited about 2 minutes to get a room. the doctor was right behind me as I sat down. listened to me carefully, and took consideration that I was scared. everyone was very kind and made my experience better than I thought it would be. thanks Alex, jill, nancy, and others who are skipping my mind.L. WThe emergency room was amazing but the staff on flr 3 is horrible someone came to take me to get am MRI done they left me sitting in the hallway where was a breeze coming through the doors and zi have on a hospital gown with the back ou as I am sitting in the hallway completely embarrassed as the janitors and incoming patients stare at me because I look a complete mess they did not offer me time to take a shower or brush my teeth. I felt so humilated The reason why I came to the hospital is because one side of my face had drooped which of course the first we think of is a stroke I have already suffered a stroke so I am obviously upset and scared……..docs said they didn’t see anything as or it being a stroke so they figured it might be something else and they wanted to do some test where they were going to shock my face with some kind of machine I declined and I wanted to go to Sparrow where I knew my doctor was I didn’t go to Sparrow in the first place because Mclaren was closer well the that I had was completely rude, nasty and out of line. I was upset about the treatment I was receiving there and I told her that I am going to Sparrow she tells me “They won’t except me their because there is no doc then she asks me why I explained to her very nicely that I didn’t like the treatment here the n she says”well why did you come here” I said well because I was scared and this hospital was closer she says well “Sparrow is not that far from here” I was so upset all the other nurses just sat there and watched like it was a t.v. show so after that of course that makes my head hurt even more. Luckily the night nurse came in. I could not believe she would treat a person who already has a brain injury like that. So they next moring she hands me my moring meds and I see a pill that is not a normal pill I take I askwd what are these pills she says I can’t tell you that I already opened them so I tell her well ypu can’tcall the pharmacy she tells me no I asked her three times too speak with someone else and she ignored me I ended up not taking those 5 pills that she left which meant I possibly misses a seizure medication dose. I am so upset and I know that there is nothing I can do about it so in the end if you are have stroke like symptons or if you have had a stroke DON’T go there I was on the 3rd floor. You will be better off going to Sparrow I hope this ling message helps someone I wish I would have known.Patrick MillerThere computer went out. I called they couldn’t find the phone number for the gift shop. I tryed 10 times and they put me hold and still couldn’t find the number. I order flowers outside the hos ital. The computers go down there employee’s are lost, hey h ve no idea what to do.A_Grey_Boy VexJust dont botherAlisha Reganvery unpleasant staff about 70% I will be going to Sparrow from this day forwardBonnie Williamson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I had a blood clot in my right arm and was in surgery within two hours.Anita Stimagevery unpleasant experience
