Before you go to McLaren, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Village of Clarkston emergency room think.
Amanda Lucero⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI came in on sat 1/28 and my nurse was Kelly and my doctor was Dr.Mike Beckley and I just wanted to say thank you so much to the both of them for taking such great care of me with my terrible toothache I had. I had previously been to pine knob urgent care where they did not listen to me and sent me home in severe pain but from the moment I walked into your ER I was treated very differently!! I ended up having to have a tooth pulled today because it was so decayed and infected so I just wanted to say thank you to my doctor and nurse for getting me on antibiotics and taking care of my pain until I got to my dentist today!!!!Marisa DeLucaCurrently here with our 3 year old who split his eyebrow open. And it’s already been an hour and we’ve yet to be seen, as he’s sitting here in pain and not even offered Tylenol or anything. I asked for some sterile gauze because blood was dripping down his face And I didn’t want to introduce any bacteria into an open wound and the response I get is “well is it bad? Can’t you just use Kleenex?” And then gave my husband and I an attitude because she had to go look for gauze. From desk lady is super rude too!!! Never again!! First and last time I will ever come here!Brian Nelson*Some healthcare providers need to remember doors are not sound proof.* one very long wait for one very bad experience. And if you are gonna talk about your pt outside their room maybe dont be as rude as your normal self.Rebecca R.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe had to come here when my child had gotten a serious laceration in his foot and needed stitches. There was zero wait and the nurses and doctor were at our side from the moment we walked in. They were calm and collected, kind, attentive, and provided quick excellent care. They even had my son giggling while they were cleaning and stitching his wound! The facility was clean. We were out of there in 90 minutes! The next day when I changed his bandage the wound was already sealed shut! There was no redness, sign of infection, or even any swelling! I’m very pleased with the level of care my child got. Hopefully we never need their help again, but I’m so glad this facility exists in case we ever do.Stephen BryantNot a single person in there, I come in for a severe kidney infection that they “treated” four days prior. I got in waited one hour for a IV the nurse came in left the IV and didn’t hook me up. Every single staff member is sitting there laughing. You have a sick patient and it’s more important to sit and congregate then do your job. A SEVERE kidney infection that is now in my blood stream. Don’t go here unless you wanted to be treated poorly if you have MedicareAngela Budnick-brissette⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI visited this ER on Christmas eve for a sinus infection. As a RN, I would give them 5-stars for the care they delivered. The doctor was very open-minded, knowledgeable and precise. The nurses were friendly & compassionate. The x-ray techs were patient and kind. I felt 100% better within 48 hours of my visit. I will continue to use this ER in the future and I’m VERY picky. Great job team ❤Rochelle S⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMike, PA, Alice, NP, & Dr. Etengoff are very caring and compassionate providers who are genuine. All the nursing staff is friendly and professional. Wait times are much less than elsewhere in the area. Keep up the good work, Clarkston ER!Kate Kubczak⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe nurses and staff treated me with exceptional care. The atmosphere was relaxed enough for me to be able to take a nap while my IV fluids were flowing. This was the best emergency room I’ve ever been admitted too!Stardust MoonDon’t ever go to this unprofessionally run Emergency room. Everyone here from the receptionist to the Dr.s act like they are doing you a favor to even talk to you, let alone take any time to give you the best diagnosis. I was in serious pain because of my skin condition and the Dr. gave me a lecture about drug addiction and gave me a shot of benadryl and 2 extra strength Tylenol, then was going to send me home in a taxi if I couldn’t find a ride. It was a Freezing cold night, actually about 2am,and I had to call EMS because I couldn’t drive in my condition, I didn’t have my cell phone, but Thank God my Brother got home from work and the neighbors told him that I was probably at the Urgent care because they heard the EMS people complaining that they didn’t want to drive me to the hospital. So, what ever you do, don’t call Clarkson EMS, because they will treat you rudely as well. What a Nightmare…….Kristina Porter⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy sister and I both came to ER last night for different reasons. What awesome care! The nurses and Dr. Mike were amazing to us both, very professional. I highly recommend the facility for your urgent care needs. It will always be where I go in an emergency! Thank you McLaren staff!!!❤❤❤Carole Schachinger⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy husband received excellent care. Staff was very caring, efficient and professional. I especially liked the carenotes, explaining his diagnosis and aftercare. We were in and out in about 1 1/2 hours. Having the pharmacy adjacent to the ER was especially convenient. Would definitely reccomend this ER. It is open 24 hours a day.Janet K⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHad an awesome experience there. I felt like everyone was in a good mood. Everything moved fast and I was in and out in less than an hour. Would highly recommend.Sarah P⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have both my daughters seen at this facility for respiratory problems and croup. The staff is wonderful: knowledgeable, friendly and quick! My daughters often pretend to be Dr B when playing as they had such a good experience.Cheryl Tyler⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went there last week i had no issues. I was in and outAmanda Macias⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHad to take my daughter here after going to the urgent care. I’m so happy we came. They took the time to listen to us and run the test that needed to be done. Nurse Cindy is the best. She took her time and explained everything she was doing to my daughter. Getting an IV in was a breeze with Cindy last help. Thank you to all of you!Brian Ernst⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThese Guys Rock….I walked in for a re-occurring serious issue and needed meds asap. In the past would go to an ER, wait for hours vomiting in the lobby waiting to be seen, then hours waiting vomiting in a room for the meds I knew I needed….NOW I checked in at the desk. Immediately went into the room to get vitals. spend 5 min there at the most to tell them what I needed. They took me into the back. I was immediately given the medicine I needed and hooked to a bottle……IMMEDIATELY. I had immediate relief. I walked out after the bottle drained in and left within the hour I was there. Thanks Chad and the rest of the team. Knowledge, teamwork, execution, all with a great attitude. Thanks !!!Carsen QuickThis is NOT a hospital, and if you have a serious condition, they WILL send you to a REAL hospital to a REAL emergency room. The Clarkston medical group needs to switch it back to what they REALLY are, a Urgent Care facility. This is a TOTAL rip off, and most insurance policies charge you a $100 dollar co pay if you are not admitted to a hospital. If you need to be admitted, Clarkston Medical Group will send you by ambulance, which is even MORE money out of pocket. They really need to switch back to what they REALLY are. AN URGENT CARE FACILITY. How is it legal to call themselves an EMERGENCY ROOM, when they are not even a hospital. TOTAL SCAM.Caroline Thompson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis place was amazing. After being in the midst of an allergic reaction and urgent care refusing to give me epinephrine, I drove to this ER to be seen. Every single person I encountered was exactly what I needed. They were kind, compassionate and worked quickly To get me the help I desperately needed. I had already been brushed off from my life threatening reaction given the urgent cares lack of skill to monitor my condition. I was taken directly back by a lovely and kind receptionist and then triaged by a doctor and two nurses and finally felt like I was in good hands. Within moments I had epinephrine on board and was improving. I wasted over an hour and a half at that urgent care prior when I should have driven directly to this ER. I won’t make that mistake again. Not only were their skills on point, i appreciated their excellent bedside manner and quick action in my time of need. Thank you SO much.Jamie DeKelaita⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI absolutely had to write. 2 1/2 years ago when we moved to the area I was a little scared this was our only option for emergency, just because I had been with a different healthcare system for so long and I thought a smaller place may not be able to do as much. I was so wrong. It was the best care I have ever received. The most prompt care, and cleaner facility than the major hospitals in my system. Most of all, they were the kindest people I’ve encountered in a long time in a hospital setting. Recently I had a major surgery with the health care system I’ve been in for over a decade, out of town. I had a complication this weekend that had me in excruciating pain. I couldn’t reach my surgeon in my old healthcare system, was given no pain relief until I could be seen, certainly couldn’t wait until after the holidays to be examined, and an hour ride away, days from now was not even an option. My husband took me here. From the moment we walked in it was EXCELLENT care! I wish I could remember names but I was in so much pain.. the beautiful, compassionate blonde woman at the desk, the beautiful, compassionate blonde woman who was my Nurse, both so comforting. Both prompt with getting the information they need before getting to see the Doctor. The Doctor who listened to me, cared about a gentle examination, the same nurse comforting me during the exam. The Doctor cared about my comfort for my ride home and my aftercare, going over everything with me. I couldn’t have prayed for a better experience, right down to the kind woman who did my discharge papers. Thoughtful, kind, the best of what medical practice should be, the kind you desperately need when you have to go to the ER in the first place. I thank you so much you wonderful group of people. I can’t thank you enough. And after what I had been through already, I hope you know you also restored my faith that there is excellent help when you need it. And excellent professionals who haven’t forgotten how important the human comfort aspect is. Thank you again.Stephanie A⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMclaren Clarkston ER is a great place. The ER is clean and they get patients seen very fast compared to other Emergency Rooms. They have taken great care of several of my family members. Thanks to the great staff, especially Dr. Van Der AueKimberly Lemusrude and uncaring. everyone I came in contact with. =(Amanda IocoIf you assume you have an injury, dont waste time or sanity visiting this location. Keep driving.connie weberWorst place ever. Went in because my rib on right side hurt. They did a bunch of blood work and ct scan cost over $1000. Found nothing. Went to my doctor the next day I had a fractured rib. All I needed was an xray. Don’t waste your time or money on this place. Go to a real emergency room with experienced doctors.Stephen Yenshaw⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommendedhad to visit the ER today for a leg wound, Staff was helpful, nurses,PA and doctor. Well done, thanks for the good careAlora EdwardsDon’t go here. They don’t really know what they’re doing but are quick to send you a huge bill. I went in for chest pain and they tried to tell me I was having an anxiety attack. Later on I was hospitalizzed for severe pancreatitis because my gahl bladder issue wasn’t seen.m ph⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy family member received great care. Thanks!Courtney GlodenTerrible experience the nurses were awful twisting my 3 year old sons neck trying to squirt way too much Motrin down his throat for a red ear. Said I would give him Motrin at home he was clearly terrified and not going to take it. She looks at me and says you had bay chance before you came in here this isn’t an option. Then she tells the other nurse to lay him down and hold him for the Motrin. I said stop it right now get away from us we’re leavjng. The nurse yelled that I was refusing care as she walked out and the other nurse was rude as she handed me my sons prescription NEVER AGAIN. I would rather drive to children’s hospital 30 minutes away.Michael PalmerMcLaren Emergency Room I WILL NEVER GO BACK to the McLaren ER in Clarkston nor will I recommend anyone to waste there money and time. This whole ER seems to be just a money maker for the company and not the quality patient care. I wish Beaumont was closer, for me Beaumont is defiantly worth the little extra drive for a $100 Co-pay. Now the Primary Care on the other side I recommend highly!Jane Losensky⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery quick on a Sunday night when no other urgent care was open. We received fantastic, friendly, quick service. The nurse practitioner was very efficient, could speak English, and quickly accessed my daughter’s symptoms, and prescribed what she needed. Would definitely go again, so much better than any urgent care practice in Lake Orion!NoneThis place has incapable doctors that have no idea what they are talking about! Took my 4 year old there for a possible tick bite and doctor said it couldn’t be one because I didn’t see a tick on him. He had a bullseye rash and everything! They gave him steroids for an allergic reaction to a bug bite and sent me on his way! Woke up the next morning and the rash had grown even bigger so I took him to his primary care and they said otherwise and gave him the meds he really needed! He is now on antibiotics 3 times a day for 14 days!! My 4 year old could have had a life long illness (Lyme disease) because of a misdiagnoses! Hope this doctor does his research on tick bites and doesn’t let this happen to anyone else!Robin Freeman⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy husband went here for Influenza symptoms. In and out in under one hour. Doctor and nurses were all very caring and thorough.Lacey WolkWent here for my daughter who had a fever for 12 days straight. They sent her home and said there was nothing they could do but take Tylenol and Motrin around the clock . 2 more days of high fever passed and I brought her back into the doctors this time going to the pine knob urgent care next to Starbucks. They found out she had an upper respiratory infection and gave her antibiotics and cough medicine. She is finally getting better (now 2 days later )no thanks to this place . I really don’t believe the doctors (or I should say assistants )know what they’re doing in any way shape or form. My daughter suffered so many extra days for no reason . You don’t send a child home with 2 weeks of a fever and tell them to take Motrin…. Don’t waste your time here ,go to pine knob.Danielle Armstrong⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe were very impressed. The office staff, nurses and doctors all showed wonderful care to our son. I even asked the doctor if he was a pediatrician because of how good he was with my son. He kept cracking jokes and made my son laugh (who was super scared about coming into a new place, with new doctors.) I am confused by all these bad reviews, but I can only speak for my experience! Definitely recommend for little ones!!Nichole AllenMy first experience, amazing. Returned because of it, so awful I ended up leaving. Front desk:the first time, she was comforting and helpful, it felt like mom was welcoming you in and cared to help you. This time, it didn’t seem like she cared to be there. Nurses and doctors:first time, quick, caring, really took good care of me and got me out reasonably quick! This time, my initial urine sample was thrown out, I waited in tears for 2 hours with severe abdominal pain in addition to a herniated disc, Dr Rizzo finally came in and gave some direction, then I waited for another half an hour with nothing or no one coming to help-the urine sample still not even tested. I left, in tears, and it seemed as if only my greeting nurses cared. Really disappointed, and hurting. Not worth the wait.Abbey Normal⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedPassing Kidney Stone so painful I could not see straight, never had this happen before. The staff from receptionist to the physician were courteous and exceptionally attentive to my needs. The attending nurse and phlebotomist were excellent in calming my anxious state. I learned the science of layering warm blankets :-), thanks to everyone , I left feeling much better in every sense as well as appreciating advise to use the local Rx’s not just for expediency sake but to assure that I would not have to drive around town to find a pharmacy. Very professional, and responsive to needs.Mike B⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery clean ER with very fast service. Would highly recommend.Colette Hinneburg⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEmergency room visits are never pleasant but the entire staff was very nice and accommodating. Dr Etengoff made sure all of our questions were answered and the emergency was dealt with in a timely fashion. I will recommend your facility to my friends.Heidi TottinghamAbsolutely horrible! I was put in a waiting room. I was left in a room for an hour and a half! Not once did anyone cone in and try to make an excuse on why they were running behind. So I finally go and ask someone what the hold up is. No one answers I look around and ALL the rooms are empty! I would never recommend this place to anyone!!Greg Palmer⭐️⭐️I was seen immediately and taken to room where a nurse came in and accessed my knee injury, almost immediately after the doctor came in and they did an X-Ray of the knee saying it wasn’t broken, which I already knew that. Doctor has a couple ER Techs put a brace on my leg that didn’t fit, they had to wrap ace bandages around the brace that I took off when I arrived home. Three weeks later I had surgery on my knee. I was seen promptly and the total time at McLaren was 45 minutes. Complaint is the staff doesn’t seem to know what they are doing. Too bad because when it was an Urgent Care it was so much better, but now that McLaren has received their Emergency Room Certification the QUALITY OF THE SERVICE has dropped. Now to find a new place other then McLaren. I wish Beaumont was around the Clarkston area.Kelly Saunders⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAll the staff at McLaren are very courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Thank you McLaren for being a great local ER.Kristina Music-O’Brien⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedUnfortunately I have had the need for 2 trips to the ER for my children in the last 3 weeks. My first trip was because my son hit his head and split it straight open to the skull. Thank God the McClaren is only 2 minutes down the road. They were prompt, and took excellent care of him! I was pleasantly surprised because of the things I’ve heard. They took the best care i could have wished for of my boy <3 Then on Christmas Eve my 6 month old daughter somehow got something in her eye and was screaming in pain and it was one of the worst experiences I've had as a mother thus far, I rushed her to McClaren and they did not hesitate to get me directly back and within SECONDS of me getting into the room I had 3 nurses and a doctor helping my poor babygirl. I am so thankful for the staff at McClaren Emergency center!!! I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!Darlene DavidsonI’m 63 yrs of age & have been to an ER maybe 3 times in my life because I’m not a fan unless I simply cannot wait for an appt with primary doctor. Unfortunately even though I had an appt the following morning with my primary my body was soaring with pain & vertigo so bad I surprised myself getting myself there. Now we get to what transpired after I get there. First of all I thought it was an urgent care nothing more because I’m tight with my money & don’t like throwing it away & ended up having to pay that ER fee. Now if I would have left there with an appt for EGD or had one while there or if they would have performed cat-scan or chest x-ray to get to root if problem I would have left knowing they did what they could. Instead I was discharged just as the severe abd pain was coming back & blood pressure began to go up again. I was told to make an appt with primary dr. within next 2 weeks for EGD Lolol I had an appt already scheduled next day but I seriously could not wait. Anyway, saw my primary next morning now I wait 2 weeks to see specialist for EGD so it’s obviously still not scheduled & we r moving in 30days. I’m afraid to eat or drink, all I’ve done since being @ ER is sleep. Nurses were very sweet but when aren’t they??!? I’m just very disappointed that an ER does not try to get to root of problem but they have no problem charging insurance companies ridiculous prices. Bottom line….thanks for nothing except making my bank account smaller I’ll continue to WAIT for proper diagnosis while the time left to pack & move creeps closer .jeremy jozwik⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat service and quick Kat WI went here for a missed miscarriage. This ER had me hemorrhage for 7 hours before they decided I needed to go somewhere else. The 7 or 8 month pregnant nurse even brushed off the gallons of blood I was losing as “normal” because she “also had a miscarriage.” They ran up my bill by giving me baby doses of pain meds even though my blood pressure kept dropping. I feel like this ER is not equipped to handle serious emergencies. I was very disappointed at the nurses and doctors for telling me my miscarriage was normal. My OBGYN said it was not normal and TRAUMATIZING. They handled the entire situation poorly, especially because they don’t even have a specialist (obgyn) on site to do surgeries. If I would have known that, I would have driven to a different hospital who could have prevented losing half my blood and 11 days of work missed.Jennifer JohnsonDo not go here unless you want a $500 bill for being seen for 10 minutes!! Are you kidding me how is that affordable to anyone?Kelli Turman⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe’ve always had decent wait times and they are great with our kidsCarl ChamberlainI went to Clarkston Urgent Care for side effects from treating a medical condition. Wait times were fairly long but understandable. The Dr. who finally saw me was rude and I should have walked out at that point and gone elsewhere. I won’t go back.Jason McDonald⭐️⭐️This place is a joke! When you call you will be put on hold no less that 10 min and be told to hold again after that, I’ve been on hold while driving there twice for over 20 min and walked in the door while on the phone waiting. Nobody there waiting this place has went down hill!!!!!Paul TinettiThis place is horrible.. especially the Dr’s in the pain management office. Don’t go here if you can help it. They don’t care for their patients at all… absolutely terribleAlex LeighSlow. Not the place to go to if you need immediate care. Rude nursesKelly AWhat happened to my review????April Brackney⭐️⭐️We waited over an hour for 30 seconds of a PAs time on a Tuesday morning. Very disappointed in the level of respect for my time.Lori BrummittWe waited 2 1/2 hours, still not seen. This is ridiculous. Then you ask how much longer, 3 people still ahead of us. Why they put you in a room for this long is beyond me. Will not come here again.Paul Thompson⭐️⭐️Waiting over 30 min on a Sunday morning to be seen in the exam room. Unacceptable wait times when there was one other patient in the waiting room. Some of the staff is a bit rude as well.jacksona2233They have no compassion. And not Urgent at all …. Long waiting.Matt SutherlandNothing urgent about it! always an hour wait minimum then sit in a room for another hour for a 30 second talk with a Dr then another half hour for a nurse to come in with a prescription.kdoconnoBiggest waste of timeCarrie Sorgithese worst possible service, so rude!Jimmy JonesAlmost 3 hours to finally get a nurse practitioner.
