Before you go to MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Baltimore emergency room think.
bri forShortSteer Clear. Staff isn’t very professional I’ve been to this facility twice this month(January 2020) and was uncomfortable both visits. The sanitation and professionalism in this facility is very poor and should be reported. While in the ER I felt very uncomfortable when my extra urine and blood samples were left out on the counter near by. I brought it to the attention of a nurse and I applaud her for explaining what was what to me but it made no since as to why those things should be left out. I had a visitor with me who had to sit next to my urine for hours… not to mention the two nurses trying to take my blood were asking me questions, while another nurse was asking the SAME questions , oh and then the “doctor” came in at the same time waited ..then asked me all of the SAME exact questions within a 30second period. I never saw him again. His supervising doctor came in asked me the same questions again. I appreciate the urgency. But I was in PAIN and being was more than overwhelmed by the entire experience. I left Good Samaritan extremely stressed and unhappy. Oh and also BRUISED severely from the first IV attempt.Michelle Brooks⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went here the day after being in a car accident and going to Franklin Square the night of the accident but leaving because I was left to sit for 3 hours in the waiting room. Good Samaritan was totally different! I was in and out in 3.5 hours with a CT and X-ray done etc. The hospital staff were efficient and everything was clean. Definitely much better than Franklin Square.Valeska Warren⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBest Hospital in this state. I have been here several times and never had a problem with anything nor anyone. As for foot surgeries, Dr Hahn is the bestninny bCalled to see how busy the e.r. was and seriously thee rudest person answers the phones there. I just walked out of 2 hospitals because they said their wait time was 5 hours so thought i would call around before driving any more. Instead of making people feel unwelcomed and like an inconvenience, try some compassion! It was 12:25 a.m on 12/28/2019 in case you want to look into what a-hole was working your phones!!AmyWent for an interview here and they didn’t even tell me it’d be a panel interview that’s terrible.Jochlyn BlackstonThe worst experience of my life, the front desk staff are very ghetto. They make you yell what is wrong with you out loud. No one addresses who they are,the triage nurse took my temp and walked away and a male nurse came and removed everything. They are rude and the customer service is horrible! I advise no one to go there who wants to be treated with respect.Avis Jackson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedConvenient. Free accessible parking. Good services. Helpful staff.Cecelia AdamsThe ER is super fast if there isn’t anything super serious with you like a cold. IF you are in a dire situation DO NOT go to this hospital. They almost removed my gallbladder and there wasn’t anything wrong with it. The nurses in Triage have terrible bedside manners. They have a habit of giving you serious pain medication and then asking questions when you have no wherewithal. The Dr. on staff let me code 3 times before moving me to CCU and only after a DR I knew recommended it to him. If you are interested in assisted suicide go here. If you’re running a fever, have a compound fracture or anything serious go to Hopkins. Terrible experience.Marcos Martinez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe Chief of Surgery saved my mothers life.Jay Kim⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThank you to Dr. Zikusoka, Dr. Randhawa, and all the nurses; Erin, Mikaela, Calvin, Roxy – I forgot some of the names just because we had many different nurses but they were ALL so nice and helpful. Thank you so much for the clear explanations, and general welcome feeling you gave us during our stay. We will forever appreciate it.Sasha MankaLet me start off by saying that if I could leave 0 stars I would. I have been an RN for 10 years and worked throughout many hospitals in the country. Unfortunately, the entire good Samaritan hospital experience for my father has been terrible!. Firstly , he was discharged too soon and developed multiple complications in which he was readmitted and treated for which included fluid in his lungs that needed to be removed and hemodialysis. He became very weak and debilitated as a result of all these complications and being in the hospital for an extended period of time. He required oxygen, a walker, and a need for PT/OT. During this process, the plan of care was extremely inconsistent, we didn’t receive accurate information from nurses, doctors, and the social worker. Now we are left with him being discharged again and being told he is “stable “. Tell me how is he stable when he requires oxygen , a walker, and feeling fatigued and syncope with PT (all of this is new for him)? Nonetheless, he now has to go to dialysis 3 times a week and doesn’t have a caregiver at home to help him with ADLs and medical transportation? We have voiced these concerns numerous times and now he is being discharged again prematurely without ensuring he has the proper resources and help he needs. What a shame this hospital makes healthcare look bad. We will be taking matters into our own hands and calling the doctors and insurance ourselves to advocate for our dad since the people that work here don’t seem to care and are incompetent. Pathetic.Elexus CopelandTheee worse hospital I’ve been to so far, i came into the ER at 11:46 & it is now 4:40 and i am still waiting. The lady at the front of the registration desk was very rude and nasty! It is freezing in here and they don’t have any sheets which is completely impossible! So if you’re looking to go here please go elsewhere, whatever is wrong may become worse for waiting sooo long!Liza Holley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI would like to thank the team that took care of me! My nurse Dana and Sonny were absolutely amazing. DR. Janice explained my care in full detail. She listen to all my concerns and gave me top NOTCH care. I can not thank her enough! I was in so much pain but Dauris ( ED transporter) was so funny and friendly. He put my mind at ease, thanks Daruis!.Thank you all for the amazing care I received at Good Samaritan! You all Rock! ❤Carmen RurakDO NOT GO HERE. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I went at 3 AM and called before to see how long the wait was, and they said there was no wait. The nurse wanted to give me unnecessary tests before I even saw the doctor. I told them no and they asked if I still wanted to see the doctor, and the doctor never came in.Essence English⭐️⭐️It’s always a problem whenever I go to this hospital! They are lazy and didnt even tell me what was wrong, just told me my foot isn’t broken go home. I’ve called to schedule follow up appointments and have yet to be able to get in contact with the office I’m supposed to be visitingjordan barrThis hospital is terrible ! With my condition I needed IV and my antibiotics constantly and the nurse left me in the room without my IV and my antibiotics for 5 hours ! Then this assistant doctor asked me about my condition and she kept asking is my condition bad and asking me negative questions about my condition and I told her that I was not experiencing any negativity with my condition It was all positive , this lady lied and told the doctors that i was contagious, come to find out I’m not ! I will never come here EVER again !K. B.I arrived at the ER around 1am with severe back and neck pain. At 4am my name was called to go to the back. To my surprise I was placed in a hallway and told all of the rooms were filled. It is now 6:45am and I have not been seen by a doctor. The nurse that is assigned to me walked by me several times and never introduced her self or even offered me a cup of water. The only reason I knew she was my nurse was because I stopped another employee and asked for help. I was asked by that employee did my nurse come by to check on me. This has been the absolute WORST experience I’ve had when visiting an ER. I am now leaving Good Sam to go to another ER after waiting to be seen for almost 6 hours and still in pain. I will not ever return to this facility and will advise my family and friends to stay clear of this place!!Elli ChicThe people that work there only work there because they need a job; not because they care anything about their patients. If I come into the emergency room, it’s because I’m having an emergency…not because I wanna sit around waiting for y’all to finish conversations and listen to y’all laugh and joke. If I come into the emergency room it’s because I need to be seen IMMEDIATELY….not 45 minutes after I came in cuz ya know…could’ve died. Get some people who actually want to do their jobs because having people just waiting forever in an EMERGENCY ROOM is not the right thing to doRichard Hill⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I have been coming for years to keep me in good health.Burak KozluI went to emergency room,I stayed 2-3 hours and they didn’t find anything.they said you are good to go.after They sent me bill.it was almost $3000.i paid all but I am gonna complain bad business bureau.E SadiqMy son was seen on 10/24/18. I was disgusted at the treatment he received. HIPPA was not practiced, in fact another patient & her son felt the need to chime in on what the nurse & other staff had to say. This hospital is not trans or mental health friendly. As a health care provider myself I find my son’s treatment disturbing. No one deserves to be treated in this manner. Giving this hospital a rating of 1 star isn’t deserving. Risk management will be contacted about the manner. The ER staff need remedial classes in common sense.Emily LamartinaDoctor prescribed me the WRONG MEDICATION, resulting in nasty side effects. Couldn’t even be bothered to Call me back. Supposed to follow up soon but don’t think I will.Toni Newman⭐️⭐️⭐️My grandma had a mini stroke(high blood pressure) I called the ambulance after her stay in a nursing home(Genesis Cromwell parkville Md )because of severe pains as she screamed. Come to find out she was retaining urine 800cc’s and hadn’t had a bowel movement on top of that she had a severe urine infection that was causing her confusion as anyone would be after going through what she’s gone through in a month. Long story not short social worker here had a Dr call me a few days after I’d been only communicating with one particular Dr. and I’ve been asking the same questions & still No change. New Dr was called to explain to me(because I’m so slow & incompetent) they were trying to move her back into a nursing home. I asked why when she still hadn’t had any scans or X-rays done or even finished antibiotics for the infection she’s very confused(delirium! Not Dementia!) the dr kept assuring me they’re gonna take care of her in a nursing home with therapy but she’s been in a bed not able to walk like she could prior to the nursing home. I begged for a X-ray and cat scan because we need to find out if there’s a possibility that she fell. Shes (198lbs)a heavy woman and she got around fine before the nursing home & infection. I had to appeal the decision through KEPRO not to discharge in hopes of getting them to listen to my concerns and act on it. Bottom line is stay close to your loved ones and ask questions no matter how much these medical professionals try to brush you off as being crazy or Demented and keep all lab tests, diagnosis, meds, nurses daily logs, names&telephone#’s logged for your own record because people will pass the blame around quickly when your loved ones lives are turned upside down period! No compassion PS the stay was very clean/food was prepared good and staff on the 4th floor were very attentive and to help as much as they couldShaina BrownI came into the ER in alot of pain. A triage nurse said come around, well I’m assuming she is a triage nurse at this point because she didnt introduce herself. My phone began to ring and I promptly turned it to mute. The triage nurse started talking to me like I was a child and was very argumentative. She said she assumed that I was on my phone because that’s what people do….after I was triage I decided that I would rather recieve care from a facility that respects and values the consumer/patients. As I left, I stopped at the desk and asked the triage nurse her name and she refused. The charge nurse Danna agreed with her that she can be apart of my care team and not identify herself. I am very disappointed in the interactions I had at the facility and the discriminatory practices that were displayed by the triage nurse. The only part of her name I could catch when she wasnt hiding her badge was Ledi. Ledi, Danna, Medstar Good Sam great job displaying spirit values and being models of the iCare movement!!!Rona George⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe girl that drew my daughter blood was awesomeA B⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGood food in the cafeteriaLoren Biddle⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCozy hospitalMister TiptoesI had an operation done at this hospital. It was called Good Samaritan Hospital at that time. Same place but now under different owners. I hope they cleaned house when they took over.Cherry Crawford⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI can have everything done at one place…I love my doctor- she is the best.Christianah OluajayiI came in last night /this morning, I was short of breath, dizzy and covered in hives,I was put in room 23 after registration, which was very fast compared to other hospitals in Baltimore,The nurse was very professional her name starts with M,can’t remember. The problem I had was that I wasn’t given the best care,no blood work was done to determine why I had the hives despite the fact that I told them it started after having surgery last month,I was just given benadryl and steroids. My blood pressure was150/89 and was discharged 3 hours later, without checking to see if it was still elevated or had gone down.I felt it was a waste of time.I asked the Nurse if they will test my blood after drawing 4 bottles from me,she said that the Doctor ,Dr Mums didn’t request for blood work to be done. I can understand if I didn’t have any insurance but I do have insurance,This is really unacceptable,I personally will not recommended Good Samaritan Hospital to anyone.Grievous 2250This place is a glorified prison. You’re given zero freedom to come and go as you please. You’re given decent therapy but the other 21 hours of the day here are an absolute waste and you’re just here so they can collect insurance money since inpatient generates more revenue than outpatient. Thanks for wasting my time by not allowing me to be strictly outpatient.Joenai FuquaGood Sam has one of the worst and slowest Er’s in Maryland the staff get an attitude and are nasty not all but most when you try to ask questions about things pertaining to the visit. It just amazing me how everyone gives you the run around and nobody knows anything but they know when it’s time to go home ridiculous. My client (elderly) has been here since this afternoon waiting Unacceptable, No Excuses because thats all i have been told today No one cares then I really wish we didn’t have to come here.. Poor Services I Wouldn’t recommend this hospital to anyoneCourtney Howell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedClean, friendly and courteous staff.Nick upI could give you 0 I will it wasting my time I’ve been sitting here for three hours and had to talk to him and give me an a back what you know any more doctors up ahead and rims with dirty anymore chairs she said she won’t put me in the big on a lot more chairs whole time she didn’tLa Tonya McDowell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI love Dr Chan Aung peds office, he is a hard working doctor that continues to educate himself about health care and medical changes, he practice what he preaches and he also talks to my boys about other areas of their lives. The other doctor there saw my son, she too is great! My oldest son aged out but I have a few more years with my other two…I will miss them. The staff are great, they encouraged me to go into healthcare, & that decision changed my life for the best!!!Everly Brown⭐️⭐️⭐️I was hit by a car and brought here. The physicians and nurses were nice and saw me fairly quickly. However, I resented having to ask for something stronger than Ibuprofen after flying over the hood of a car, landing on concrete , and needing weeks of therapy.James Bradley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Nursing staff on the 2nd floor east wing and physical and occupational therapy very knowledgeable and compassionate and in tune with you as a patient. Recommended Point if contact Jeanette,Alyshia, Nicole,Candace,Kemi nurses and floor techs. Physical and Occupational therapy Point of Contact ask for Drew, Patrick,Rick,Ryan,Jaime and Nash All people I named in this review is very compassionate and caring for the needs of the patients. I personally recommend themWilliam Bankard⭐️⭐️My Doctor, when he is not available and there is a temp Doctor at the hospital, will NEVER refill prescriptions. Even though he has all the data in front of him on his computer computer. Not even for a cough suppressant which I desperately needed. The temp Doctor moved to another hospital and has never given me a call about my X-rays. I think that’s important considering I have a Very Contagious Pneumonia . Three members of my family now have. The Two Star is not a reflection of the hospital, Just the Doctors. After more than 30 years I should have more respect from my primary care Doctor. At least a phone call ???Joyce Wright-El⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI really love the Dr’s and the wonderful Staff ,they go the 100 miles to help the patient’s out.For sure it is for real from their heart’s.The love and kindness that they show, depicts the true person that they are. It’s a pleasure to come here for my visits.Thank you Good SAM FOR. THE CARE YOU GIVE ALL YOUR PATIENT’S.LOVE JOYCE WRIGHT-ElSeth OfosuHad to get a boil lanced. Ended up in intensive care with a fever of 103 for 4 days before transferring to another hospital where I was able to fully recovered in less than 2 days. They had poor costumer service, nurses didn’t wanna be there. And they exercised poor hygiene. I got worse instead of better every day there. Do not check ingregory brogden⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff was really nice and it’s a clean placeJessica McCorkleMy husband was admitted On the 2nd and today the 3rd He walked out because he received poor service! The RN, MA and techs who was on duty tonight 11/3/17@ 7pm-7am on the 4th floor was horrible! We called multiple times to get his IV cleaned they told us they would be there and never came! He was due for his medicine and they didn’t show up until he decided he was just gonna leave! My husband is in alot of pain and I don’t appreciate the service he received! And on top of that they told him he can not have papers stating he was there. I am so irritated and furious at those people who are there to help the patients not make them suffer more! We will not be coming back there!Destiny Walker⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe entire staff, doctors and nurses are great!!AnnaMy healthy 37 year old sister went in for a surgery that should’ve been outpatient, but she ended up staying an entire week and developed all these problems after surgery. Now she’s being treated by a host of specialist for things she was never diagnosed with until after the surgery. I wish she would’ve took the time to do her research. This place has a 2 star rating for a reason.Shannon McCain⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe BEST ED in Baltimore. Nurses, PA’s, Tech’s, staff, Registrars, Floor Tech’s have always been nice and caring to me. I live about 35 minutes away but this is the only place I go for emergency treatment. Everyone is so nice, educated and caring. This is my second visit here in 3 months and my experiences have been very pleasant. It helps a lot when you are very sick and you go for treatment and everyone is kind, attentive and understanding. I’ve worked for several hospitals and have worked for MedStar in the past. Makes me very proud to be associated with you all. THANK YOU. Nurse Stella, Tech Keara, PA Erin and even the floor techs who were on shift.Chrisanda Jones⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOne person does not make a hospital, good or bad.. And yes you can run into some poor employees ,no matter what Hospital you go to,for your health care.So I myself always try another way..by talking to someone else.I love Good Sam myself. The Doctors and staff have all been wonderful. Its great to have all your Doctors, with all your tests.and your records in the same hospital.Anthony Moore⭐️⭐️Billing Department at Good Samaritan is the worst. Several visits were NEVER sent to insurance company therefore having charges sent to collections with the end result of them being placed on my credit report as a negative rating. This was confirmed by insurance company and then by the STATES ATTORNEYS OFFICE.Kim FarrThe ground floor cafeteria was horrible. I could not find anyone to wait on me. The one women in the area with the subs completely Igored me and then rudely said “I’m closed”without even looking at me. Everything on display was dried up and disgusting. I then decide to head to the cafe but they closed at 2. It’s 2:05. Also had horrible service from the first person you see when you come in for surgery. Didn’t say hello or good bye. Just give me your id and medical card and wait over there. The nurse in the room, the doctor and anesthesiologist were extremely nice so i hope the surgery goes better than my first opinon of this place.Kendra HicksMy sister was hospitalized last Monday after feeling ill and experiencing excruciating pain. While there she had to go thru many tests and no one cared to explain to her what the root of the problem was. She was there over a week with no answers or explanations. Unacceptable and very unprofessional. She’s being released today still with no answers just was told she can be treated at home. She will NEVER come back to this hospital again.carrie parhamEr is horrible!!! The staff at the front desk Beverly (registar) was very rude and unprofessional, Toni (nurse) was the same. both of these girls needs to be trained on giving good customer service. They were very rude and disengaged with the task at hand. Both will make you feel like you’re bothering them by coming to be seen there! Toni was watching a movie on her phone , mean while Beverly was chit chatting with another employee certainly not a work related conversation. I was in horrific, visable pain and neither of them we’re concerned. No one gave a smile or even a soft friendly look of comfort. They literally act as if they we’re on an extended break! However Dr Jordan was awesome so was the nurse who attended to me once I got in the back! For an E.R visit I would advise you to go some where else especially if you are in pain. Because they are horrible! I am also going to write the director!! I really couldn’t believe how they were just comfortable at being that way!Vanessa WindleyI just called to find out how my parents were doing, after being in a car accident. I was transferred to where they were, Heather, a nurse, told me that she could not tell me anything, even after, I told her that I was one of their daughter’s and she never ask my name or which daughters. she would not tell me, their conditions, if they was critically or expired, which I know they can’t tell that much, but even after, I explain that I recently had a stroke, she was very blount about not even trying to see if they wanted to talk to me, if they was able too. I was still talking to her and she hung up on me. I once also did this line of work. that was very bad service in her field. Left me very upset about my parents. She needs to return and practice excellent customer service. Poor example.Tyshanae TynesI’m never coming here again . This hospital is beyond slow. I’ve been sitting here for four hours and still haven’t been seen not to mention I’m pregnant, was bleeding heavy and I’m in a lot of pain.JESSE B⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Good Samaritan is truly a GOOD hospital, the medical staff is very sufficient very optimistic and very professional, the doctors and nurses really takes GOOD care of you and they’re always smiling!Ngalkraked BaltimoreI went to the emergency room tonight with a back pain and numbness going down my thigh with burning sensation. I went in about 9:30pm and after waiting painfully for an hour a nurse came and called me in. I thought they were going to give me something for my pain but after she asked me what is wrong and I told her I have severe pain on my lower back and both my thighs are numb with burning sensation on skin and also my knees are hurting so bad. She said follow me so I did and we went to this area with tv and few chairs and she told me to wait she will get my prescription of muscle relaxer and she will write a paper to my job that I will be off for couple of days after I told her I need to work. As I was waiting the nurses in there were running around playing in there. What an unprofessional hospital I have ever been too. I wanted to say something to my nurse so i peeked outside to the hallway and they were crowded in one door giggling and gossiping. I called one nurse to come cause I want to relay my message to the physician that left me there and a guy came and said something to her and ran away…she left me and started shouting stuff to the guy nurse and they were laughing. I had to wait for her to finish playing. She came so I started saying my message then the nurse came back with my papers. I asked her if she can also give me something for the pain and she said I gotta buy ibuprofen or Tylenol or back press. Her name is Karin Weaver, PA-C. She was so un- caring that I’m hurting and I need medicine to help me work and as soon as she gave me paper she asked if I’m ready to go. I didn’t get the help I needed at the emergency room. This is the worst hospital I have been too and I’m mad that they didn’t give me the care I needed but also happy they didn’t do anything to me after seeing the nurses in there horseplaying giggling and doing what they are doing back there. First and LastDiana Fowlkes⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am very pleased with the quality of services that I have experienced . From the ER visits through SurgeryOjeni GeneretteOn Nov. 17, 2011 my father was admitted to this hospital for a urinary track infection. He never made it back home! This hospital performed an basic but unnecessary procedure that sent into cardiac arrest and killed him. It still hurts till this day!Teiana BTerrible! Shannon on O’Neil 4th floor is the worse nurse I’ve ever had. She’s a medical malpractice waiting to happen for this hospital. She’s incompetent on a colossal scale. She left my (cardiac) monitor beeping for an hour and almost gave me someone else’s meds. My IV started oozing blood. I paged Shannon non-stop for almost two hours and she never responded to my page. I eventually took out my own line and applied pressure until housekeeping came and got help. Shannon is a disaster. O’Neil 4th floor is a disaster. Most of the patients on the 4th floor are recovering from stroke and are temporarily dependent on the staff. This is NOT the hospital to go for your emergency or rehabilitative needs. I discharged myself after 36 hours and was pleasantly cared for at another facility. Management should really look into Shannon’s day-to-day care and lack of compassion towards patients.Jane Johnson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was sick for months, I went to Franklin square hospital 5 times.
