Before you go to Mercy, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this St. Louis emergency room think.
Tina M.I came in with the most excruciating pain due to a back/nerve injury. My check-in time was 9:30 p.m. . It is now 2:00 a.m. and I am still in the E.R waiting room! I have not been seen by a Dr. yet! I have seen 4 people leave this hospital for the same reason! No help to be found! Where are the doctors and nurses??? I could have crawled to another hospital and would probably be home by now with some relief! This is uncalled for and totally unprofessional. Do not come here… if you’re not already dead, you will be before the staff helps you! Kayla PriceGo anywhere else if you can. You’ll sit for hours no matter how “urgent” your medical issue is. Call an ambulance if you want to get anywhere. Not to mention it’s absolutely disgusting. The floors and furniture are disgusting. My dad is a stroke and cancer patient. We’ve been in this ER at least 3 times in the past year. Every single time has been terrible. I can say other areas of this hospital are fantastic, just avoid this part if you can. Update: a nurse just commented on how disgusting the ER is without any prompting.Michelle Pfaff⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy Dad was here a month ago and his accommodations were filthy so I complained. Currently, I’m here and WOW what a difference. Daily housekeeping sanitizes the things that are touched 1000x’s a day. I’m offered a change of bedding daily. The floors are swept & sanitized daily. Trash is picked up, rails are cleaned, door handles & doors are wiped down, phone, TV control, toilets, sink & faucets, the bed & towel dispenser too. A large container of Sani-Cloths are there for anything you would like to clean up are there for your use. Great Job Mercy You may wonder why I came here well the EMS had to because I had a fever of 102.5 and had two seizures there was zero time to waste. As always, the staff in every department was absolutely wonderful.Devyn Johnson⭐️⭐️⭐️If you like narcotics, this is certainly the place to go. I stated that I did not want any narcotics, yet they still prescribed Percocet and insisted that I take it. Besides that, the place was clean and the the staff was nice.tara burrowLiterally gets one star because the counselor was good. Staff was rude, walked right by you, ignored your questions, pushed you off on others. The triage room was FILTHY with needles, cotton balls and used gloves on the floor that probably hasn’t been mopped in a month. Staff wore gloves in and out of rooms while doing blood collections. We were here 4.5 hours to be seen by a nurse for 10 minutes, a doctor for 3, and a counselor for about 20. Then had to wait half an hour for discharge paperwork and when trying to ask questions was interrupted repeatedly just to be pushed off on someone else. I will NOT return here even in the most dire situation.RayIf you come into this emergency room and you aren’t dying, you will probably be gaslighted and at the very least shamed.good vibes onlyWent to check if my child have strep and was returned back without test results because they said it takes a while at night time for results this never happened to me me before its very unprofessional and someone really needs to speak to them.Richard Caldwell⭐️⭐️Waited 5 hours asked my place in line was told discharged already worth going elsewhere!Sharon TibbsBeen here for hours in the waiting room with my mother. This is the worst I have ever experienced. Wait times are horrid, service is awful, absolutely no sense of urgency, restrooms are not attended. Should have gone somewhere else!!!Ashley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedKind, Caring and amazing at their jobs.Trichia Meyer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’ve read and heard many horror stories of this hospitals care. However on Super Bowl Sunday I had no choice but to go to Mercy South for accute pancreatitis. I arrived via ambulance. I was in major pain and vomiting. With in 30 minutes of arrival I was give anti nausea medication ahad an I’ve of fluids running and was administered pain medication to control my pain. This is under heard of in an Er in most hospitals. They were quick attentive and on the ball. My staff was very nice and understanding even though I was less than pleasant bc I was feeling very I’ll. I was admitted and spoke with the er doctor who took his time to explain everything to me. Once I arrived to my room on the 4th floor again my care was amazing. My nurses and doctors on all 3 shifts were wonderful. I even had a major allergic reaction to medication that need immediate attention and my nurse Val was AMAZING!!!! I understand all hospitals have flaws but from a person who has spent many days in many hospitals…Mercy South has been one of the best expierences Ive ever had, next to Mercy Creve Coure.Alden SasicIf you can walk leave or you going be sitting for 6 hoursEricmanOver 4 hours for a dog biteBethany Scissell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe got to the hospital and they seen us right away and was very helpfulHans HartmanEither they are severely understaffed, or they don’t care about wait times. The attention to patients is unheard of… because it is not there. Waiting 5+ to 12 hours as one woman who just up and left, is ridiculous. Also, coming here, I had a terrible time, because the E.R. Is not well marked with signs.Daniel Ryan⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery good emergency care
