MetroWest Medical Center Reviews

Before you go to MetroWest Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Natick emergency room think.

N L I would give this ER department negative stars if I could. I went there passing large clots of blood in my urine due to a severe UTI. I was in so much pain I could not stop crying or use the bathroom without screaming. I was admitted right away but not once was I seen by a doctor while I was there. The physicians assistant was the only person who treated me and she clearly did not know anything about UTI’s (which is just sad for someone who works in the ER because these are statistically a very common cause for ER visits). She asked for a urine sample but did not perform a dip stick test. She also told me that there was no blood in my urine (there were in fact very large clots of blood in my urine) and in the same breathe she actually acknowledged that there was blood in my urine by telling me “it’s not that I don’t believe you, but you are probably mistaken. It is much more likely that blood in your urine sample is from your period.” I am a highly educated person with a degree in the life sciences. I have also had my period for over 15 years now. So I can assure you that I understand the difference and I was not mistaking my period for the blood clots that I was peeing in extreme agony. Blood in your urine is actually a very common symptom of UTIs. Furthermore I have not had my period for two years due to my birth control pill— so not only am I not an idiot, but what was suggested by the PA was not possible. So in summary, I was given some IBprofun and was sent home with a SEVERE bladder infection. The PA didn’t even prescribe me an antibiotic. Three days later when I was still in extreme pain and peeing a lot of blood, I called the ER back. I explained that my symptoms had gotten much worse and I couldn’t take the pain and the response I got was “well it’s totally up to you if you think you should come back. I just don’t know”. I went to urgent care instead and was immediately put on a very strong dose of antibiotics. I ended up being billed over $2,000 for the ibprofin and complete lack of treatment for my bladder infection. I am just thankful that I didn’t show up at Leonard Morse with a kidney infection because I would probably be dead had I received the same treatment. DONT GO TO THIS ER IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING SERIOUS GOING ON.
