Before you go to Mission Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Asheville emergency room think.
Angel VanceDo NOT go here. In Western,NC this used to be the best place you could go. Now, you’re better off going to Wilmington or out of state. I was sent to the ER via my doctor for an ectopic pregnancy. Just because I said I was sent from this particular doctor they refused to be genuine or give any actual care. They didnt even bother to check my vitals, then the doctor lied straight to my face, giving COMPLETE misinformation and sent me home. Yet I still have to pay all the bills for it. If you want to be seen for an emergency ob/gyn related- do NOT go here. Waste of time and money-possibly even your life.Hayley PowellA nice new clean facility, filled with horrific service and absolutely no warning about the thousands of dollars of debt they put you in. Not to mention, the problem at hand wasn’t even remotely solved. I’d recommend just staying home. WebMD is free.James BraymillerThey missed my wife’s concussion after her accident and the Chiropractor said they xrays they took are beyond amateur and completely unusable, so now we have to go through radiation again. If there was another hospital close I would tell you to go there. It felt like fast-food service. I’ve had more caring service at Fast Med.Doni L⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went into the ER on Friday night with severe chest, stomach and upper back pain. I was scared it was my heart. I was worried that because of my age, they wouldn’t take it seriously. Upon checking in, a triage nurse was behind the desk and asked what brought me in. I told her my symptoms and she wasted no time getting me back for an EKG. Very shortly after that, I had blood drawn. I was then registered and finished checking in. I waited about 10 minutes, and in that time, nurses came around to take vitals so that when I got back to the room, they’d be ready. Right after my vitals check, they had my room cleaned and ready for me. I spoke to several nurses that came through my room and they were all fantastic. I was seen by a PA named Mary Buntin and she was awesome. Very thorough and got me to x-ray quickly. She asked my permission to get an U/S done just to make sure that her assumptions were correct, and they were in the end. Despite it being hectic, she was very pleasant, friendly and did not rush me. Everyone from the moment I got there were amazing. The rad techs, nurses and PA turned a very scary situation upside down with their compassion and humor. They were all talkative, expressed genuine caring, and never made me feel like I was a burden. The nurse upon my discharge (I can’t remember her name) was hilarious. She kept the air light without seeming unprofessional. Huuuuge thank you to everyone that cared for me while I was there!Shirley MorrisI tried to call the ER regarding transportation for my Mom. They switched me to a different department and it rings and rings then someone answers and hangs up the darn phone. I am sorry but this sure does not help the situation.cortney haneyYou’d think with all the money they put into building a new building for the ER things would go quicker. Been here for over 3 hours with my toddler who has a fever over 103 and a terrible head ache and puking. Asked for a blanket an hour ago and the lady I just standing in the lobby on her phone. This place is a joke.AmyMy family member was told to go to the ER after her CAT scan. She had to wait two hours before she was taken back. The nurses’ lackadaisical attitude was “We get a lot of calls from doctors and we don’t know what calls came from which doctor.” Within half an hour of being taken back she was taken in for emergency heart surgery because of a tear in her aorta. This ER needs to get their act together.Brian BarrettBiggest SCAM EVER!!!! Went in with digestive issue. Received a bag of fluids and a bag of magnesium. Was quoted a price of $1000 at time of visit and was billed nearly $4000, for ONE BAG of SALINE!!!!!!. Doctor on duty was suppose to make referral to Gastroenterologist and never did. That was all they did before releasing me in the morning and I ran 102 degree fever the rest of the afternoon. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS FACILITY EVER AGAIN.Grace MooreThe woman on the phone was horrible, rude and insensitive when I called to ask if a close family member was okay.Miranda Poindexter⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHonestly couldn’t have had better service! Thank you so much for everything and keep up the amazing work! 7 stars!Alyssa Ruberto⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy experience was good! Every step of the way people were friendly and polite. They put me in the “fast track” because my injury was pretty minor. There was very little fuss and everything was pretty clean and organized. I just moved here and was concerned that I would have to pay out of pocket since I’m between insurance plans, but they were able to “back file” it or whatever, since I already applied for the insurance and am just waiting for it to come through, it will retroactively be covered. I called ahead to ask them about this and they were very to the point and gave me the answers I needed. Good experience.Dani DoyleNot only did they take a long time to see me after my car accident, but all the recommended was I take ibuprofen for a SHARP back pain (and damaged disc), and not return to work until thursday. The doctor said he was giving me a doctors note to provide to my job, but he LIED. the note was not in the stack of papers he gave me, AND they refused to provide me with one when I contacted them after this. I am going to be fired for “skipping work” all because the “professionals” at this hospital have no accountability whatsoever.Cassie Grantwe been waiting in the emergency room waiting room for three hours and still no room.. I’m never coming back to this hospital never again!Alexandrea Cargill⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWhile in Asheville I had an unfortunate accident that required a trip to the local ED. While there I experienced prompt care and excellent service. I was very surprised by how quick the process went. I arrived around 6:30 pm and was discharged before 8:00 pm, they preformed an EKG, took x-rays and was examined by an attending FNP. Everyone was very attentive and took the time to answer all of my questions. Krystal from registration is beyond amazing and an absolute asset to your facility. Thank you Mission Hospital ED for the excellent care.Justin Brindle⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThank you guys, fantastic care.Joy MaugansStaff made wrongful assumptions about me, based on my symptoms. They put those assumptions on my permanent record as fact. I was ignorantly diagnosed and maligned. What they did was harmful.ItsOrganicDontPanicThey don’t prioritize room properly. People in worse condition who have been waiting longer get passed up to give less severe cases rooms firstDillon WatsonI came here in serious head and neck pain. My blood pressure was really high. They treated me kindly but I was placed in a bright and noisy hallway and given a pair of earplugs and a eye-shield. Then I was given some meds and fluids to help with pain and lower BP. They were going to just release me then… I had to ask several times for x-rays.. Then a couple weeks after their “care” I get a bill that makes my eyeballs pop out and my mom cryJohn MAvoid if you can. Horrible billing process. Received a bill that had due upon receipt. Was on vacation when it came, they called within a week of the statement date and threatened me it would go to collections if I did not make a payment immediately. How am I to pay a bill if I don’t even know it exists?!Lollipop GhoulShould’ve just died instead of going hereashlyn is hereWorst ER ever
