Before you go to Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Lewiston emergency room think.
Azooz44241 AliI came to the Emergency Room 4 months ago had a pain in my chest and the doctor said you will feel better after two days, but I still suffer of the pain, I needed a specialist about my condition, I made a survey about my problem to the hospital but they ignore me. It was a bad experience because I did not get treatment.Anonymous FlawAll my doctors are with Mt St Mary’s and I seldomly need the ER but last night I did and I want to tell you that all your overnight staff does is sit and talk and laugh in the nurses station. I was there three hours after check in with no bp cuff, no heart monitor, no pillow, no blanket, no offer, barely questioned at check in and felt to be treated as a drug addict. NOONE CAME IN 3 HOURS TO CHECK ONE BE or on me period!!!! The one NURSE WHO DID TRIAGE WAS RUDE AND FAST, RUSHING BACK TO HER CHAIR WHICH I HAD CLEAR VIEW OF! MY FRIENDS SON ALMOST DIED FROM KIDNEY FAILURE DUE TO THESE PEOPLE FAILING TO CHECK A URINE, HE NEEDED A TRANSPLANT. I WAS IN SEVERE PAIN AND IF SHE ASKED, I HAVE A HISTORY OF OVARIAN CYSTS RUPTURING AND COULD OF BLED OUT OR REQUIRED SURGERY. THEY PUT AN IV PORT IN, TOLD ME TO PEE IN A CUP N NEVER CAME BACK FOR URINE. THEY HAD ANOTHER MANS NAME ON SCREEN N NEVER DID A RECHECK OF VITALS, CUFF WAS ON FLOOR SO IF THEY DOCUMENTED ONE THEY LIED. I LEFT AFTER REMOVING PORT MYSELF. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE STAFF THAT TREAT PEOPLE IN PAIN LIKE THAT. IF I WAS WHO I USED TO BE, I WOULD OF HURT SOMEONE. YOUR ER STAFF IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND GIVE YOUR HOSPITAL A HORRID REPUTATION. I SUGGEST YOU GET RID OF BURNT OUT NURSES! RUDE AND A DISGRACE TO THE FIELD OF MEDICINE! I AM GOING FOR AN ULTRASOUND AND HOPE MY PAIN WAS JUST GAS BECAUSE IF I HAVE FREE FLOWING FLUID IN ABDOMEN OR NEED EMERGENCY SURGERY, I WOULD HAVE AN EASY TIME SUING YOUR NEGLECTFUL AND DOWNRIGHT IGNORANT EMERGENCY ROOM STAFF. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEM. I LOVE MY NORMAL DOCTORS WITH MOUNT ST MARY AND ALWAYS GIVE THEM GOOD REVIEW BUT THOSE ER STAFF SHOULDN’T BE EMPLOYED, THEY SHOULDN’T GET PAID TO SIT AROUND AND GOSSIP FOR HOURS. Update: I had another surgery at Mount St. Mary’s yesterday and the staff were all attentive and great. Two hours later, I had to come to the ER with my son. He had an infected abscess that didn’t look infected just 12 hours before. Though we waited two hours, the staff was this time attentive and the Dr. lanced his wound pretty quickly. It was just waiting for the paperwork and I do realize there are other patients. However, had I experienced this treatment when I was there before I would have never left a bad review. Whatever you did is working or they are just different people all together. I think it is very important to have a kind and concerned and attentive ER. Many patients first encounter with a facility is the ER and this will grow your hospital because people talk. Do you want them to say “my son needed a transplant” because the hospital failed to take a 5 yr olds urine sample or say, “my experience was great, they saved my life, I am switching all my Drs there because they are just that great”? As a religious establishment too, the peace of God should be felt, not the presence of a burnt out and mean, uncaring and impatient staff.
