MultiCare Valley Hospital Reviews

Before you go to MultiCare Valley Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Spokane Valley emergency room think.

Ronald Keltz⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Workers in reception very professional and made me feel they cared about my issue. Nurses knew their job but I felt they were just doing a very good job without showing empathy for my discomfort. Physician on the other hand was outstanding. Professional, knowledgeable, and very attentive to my comfort and needed care. Made my time there as pleasant as I could be.Francine Shaw⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was sent to the emergency department by a triage nurse at my doctors office. I was greeted at the door and waited a very short time. The triage nurse was efficient and courteous. I was taken back to a room with a door that closed and Lines were close so I felt like I had a lot of privacy. The nurse came in almost immediately. I can’t say enough good things about my nurse. Bill was smiling calm and exactly what I needed. He explained everything as we went along and never lost his smile or a good attitude. This is so important when you’re nervous and uncomfortable.I was given some tests that were thorough. My entire stay was about three hours. I went home with my questions answered and prescriptions in hand.Kim LaVigne⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was surprised, sadly, that I had the most enjoyable experience in the ER. it shouldn’t be the rare experience but it was, which is why it was sad. But every single person from the registrar, triage nurse, OR nurse all the way to the doctor were pleasant, caring and treated me like a human being. I was so thrilled with the fact that no matter how busy they were, they took the time to speak to me and actually listen. They went out of their way to resolve my issue and followed up with other medical community members that didn’t do their job. Amazing folks!! Every one deserves a bonus or at the very least a Starbucks gift card, lol ! I’ll never go anywhere else.Cassandra Johnston⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went in for my chest being tight and not being able to control my heartrate. I had no idea what was going on. Between the man checking me in ( so so nice) the nurse Paula (also super lovely), and the Doc (super informative) they did every test and blood work on me to find what the culprit was. I’ve never experienced so much care and just love being to any other ER. This place is amazing!Eclectic Heart⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery pleased with the ER service I received! Sure there was a wait, lot of people needing help. But once I was in a room they immediately made me comfortable. There was a bit of initial confusion on what was causing my symptoms, but Dr. Harper (Harden? not positive re his name) went right to work testing every avenue he had. He talked with my Urologist at least 2 times, evaluated results and FINALLY have me a diagnosis that so many other doctors could not. I felt safe and well cared for, unusual for me in a health care facility. Thanks to all the staff, and especially the ER doctor!Joy Snowden⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWhen one has to go to an ER, there are many feelings…some relief and some dread. After all it’s not the place we chose to go. It’s a must. That being said, we are so fortunate in our staff in this Valley Hospital ER….Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control this was our fourth visit to this ER in just over a year… Two very serious situations, and two that were quickly resolved. We have had nothing but great experiences! Kindness and Compassion. Always treated with respect. They strive to quickly resolved one’s issue. As quickly as any ER that has more life threatening situations than ours come in. Of course, those folks need help before us, if we’re stabilized. I highly recommend this ER! Just be patient if you’re not dealing with life threatening situations. It’s called an ER for a reason. Joy Theodorson⭐️⭐️⭐️I was seen for left rib cage pain. Dr, nurses, registration, and X-ray staff were nice and professional. My only negative experience was the Dr not being willing to do a general lab panel to make sure my organs were functioning properly. It felt like it was just assumed that it was muscle related. Hopefully, I don’t continue to get worse… Otherwise I had a great experience.Ralph Sallade⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had fallen and hurt my lower back, on the right side, just below my ribs. Several X-rays were taken. Nothing was broken. The Dr. and nurses were very efficient and gave me excellent care.Christine⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedTop notch care. Everyone made me feel like I was their only priority. I appreciate all of the staff that assisted in my care on Sunday. Thank you to all of you.Elizabeth Deak⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedSuper friendly! Felt comfortable the moment I walked in the door. I was explained what was going to happen. 🙂Robert Coombs⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIncredible experience, probably the fastest and easiest ER experience I have ever had. Friendly and happy staff, knowledgable, and helped us make the best of a bad situation. Even quickly saw my wife to help her with a sinus infection while they popped my dislocated shoulder back in!Richard Baxter⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFelt very ill. Hardly any wait after arrival. Staff friendly, attentive & caring. Thorough diagnosis & effective treatment. Thanks to all for their professionalism and their care.Naomi Roberson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went in because I was having a hard time breathing due to bronchitis. Everyone I came across was polite and professional, and for the most part, my visit was quick. They really helped me today and I appreciated the courteous treatment.Michael C I came in completely drenched in sweat while experiencing extreme dizziness. The second they found my heart was normal I was forgotten about and left in my room for 7 hours for tests. I wasn’t even afforded an IV for the dehydration. I was, “given” an injection neither myself nor my friend remember me being given. When I left, I wasn’t greeted with a busy emergency room of nurses and doctors helping people, I got to see about a dozen of them just sitting there looking at myself and my friend. One of the nurses was literally dancing in her chair while the other watched. I only saw one other room used by a family more had a person but most were empty. Clearly you get a 0 and continue to hold the record for being the absolute worst hospital in the Spokane area. I am only giving a 1 so this actually affects you.Janet Travers⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedSpending Christmas Morning in tbe ER is stressful, but being in the ER at MultiCare Valley Hospital brought the stress level down to almost nothing. The staff was friendly yet professional, both calming and reassuring. If an emergency has you looking for medical attention in the Valley, you will be on good hands at MultiCare Valley Hospital.Leslie Gwiazda⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was very happy with the quality of my care by my doctor and nursing staff. I was kept informed on all my care. Everyone one was beyond pleasant.Esther Rainville⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis is an awesome place to go. I was taken care of right away. They listened to what I was experiencing. They were kind, gentle, caring & very polite. They told me what they were doing & why. I always ask questions. I’m a curious person & want to know. Thank u so much to all the staff there.Catherine Scott⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy 94 year-old dad went to the ER with extremely low blood pressure. Everyone at Valley hospital was extremely nice to him. He’s always frantic about getting an IV put in because his veins are so small it’s really painful, but the phlebotomist Bryan did an outstanding job. Chris the nurse went out of his way to make my dad feel very special, and doctor Topp was very personable and took the time to explain everything to us. Great experience.Steve Curran⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGive big thank to Dr. Miemer hope i spelled her name right and to nurse Katie.. They both showed compassion to me felt like they really cared about my well being.. I felt they went far and above hospital regulation to care for me and they clearly explained what all tests they where going to put me through and why.. Way to go.. 5 stars all around.. I left happy when i was discharged.. Valley Hospital give these two a big hug and a high five for me…Melissa Harms⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThere was no waiting time and took great care of me. They were kind to me even when I was in pain. Nurse Mary was great, I don’t like needles and I never felt her pock me.Bill Jenner⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFast, knowledgeable and helpful. The doctor was direct, provided useful information and went out if his way to help. My prognosis required the professional insight for best results. The whole process from beginning to end was fast and efficient.Karl Hipple⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat doctor with fantastic bedside manner. I could trip he really wanted to help. Dr. Baldwin is GREAT.Pam Rossing⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe ER was busy, but they got me in quickly! Very friendly, welcoming staff. They were efficient & thorough. We went in really early Friday morning and were in and out within 45 minutes. The staff was all really friendly and helpful and even gave my daughter a small gift for taking her medicine This is now our go to hospital for any emergency!Monique Bear⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe staff was all really friendly and helpful, both ER and surgical. They kept me informed every step of the way. I came in to the ER with serious gallstones at 7am and was out minus my gallbladder before 7pm.John Smokoska⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCheck-in was quick, only waited a few minutes before they called me back to my room. Quick x-ray was quick and doctor was very good.Tonya Lafferty⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedPeople were great was treated with respect and was always told what was happening and they made sure I understood everything and made me feel like really matteredPatti Meadows⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Staff were hospitable but didn’t notify us why our pre scheduled Appointment was 14 minutes late. When seen, the PA was upfront about the condition and forwarded us with proper updates to the ER.Kat Fiessinger⭐️⭐️⭐️I find it reprehensible that people who are deemed sick enough to be transported to the ER by ambulance are unceremoniously DUMPED in the freaking waiting room with little regard to the patient! It shouldn’t take HOURS to get seen, even if cursory. Also, not EVERYONE is a drug seeker! I did not even ask for pain meds, however they kept asking me to request medication I didn’t need. I realize they want you to be comfortable, however if you DO ask for something, you’re treated like an addict!jacent ley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOur RN Patrick & PA Chris were excellent. Took really good care of me. The CT staff were wonderful.Jim Hawvermale⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI came in with chest pains and a racing heart. The staff got me back into a room right away and I saw a doctor within minutes. They were able to quickly treat my condition and slow my heart rate down to a rate. Everyone was friendly and courteous and after sticking around for a little bit for observation I went home.Erica Clarke Horrible experience—the only person who provided decent care was the registrar in the emergency department, where I was seen. I was not treated with respect. The staff was rude from the time I asked how long it would be until I saw a provider. I was administered a medication I am not supposed to have without my prior knowledge or consent. When asked the names and roles of the staff who administered my care, I was only given the name of the doctor, charge nurse, and house supervisor—and refused the other names. The staff was negligent, rude, and did not adhere to the policies outlined in the manual for patient rights and responsibilities. The care has gone downhill since the merge with MultiCare and this is why I switched my primary care to Kaiser, but I will NEVER go to this ER again. I’ll take my chances at home.Keith Harris⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedReceived excellent service! Quickly processed and admitted to ER. Received prompt and excellent care from Dr. Cody Belkoff. The nurse, Bill, was knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful as were the ct scan technician and transport personnel. Thanks Brenda Criss⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedQuick, friendly and very profession. Everyone who helped me through my visit to the emergency room did an excellent job! I would highly recommend them.Tatyana Yerxa⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was extremely sick and was unable to keep even water down for nearly 36 hours. The ER was really busy but they got me on fluids quickly, I did end up there for around 41/2 hours for other procedures but the staff here are incredible.Sonya Dougherty⭐️⭐️⭐️Was ok but I was sent to get blood drawn and other test done by my doctor to ER but was put on iv meds instead but they were nice about everything.Joan Frank⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCaring, friendly, efficient staff. Kept me informed and listened to me. Gave easy to understand details and follow-up information.Spencer Thornton⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This is the only hospital I go to if I have to go. Their all super polite, friendly, and understanding. I was in and out in a few hours feeling much better.Ash Wing⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThank you very much to all of the staff. My favorite part is when I saw the reception Lady sanitize the pens and everything lol. Made me feel safe.julie McLagan⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff and Doctor were excellent. very professional and kept me informed.Patty Gouin⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI love this place. Staff is always friendly and concerned. They are helpful and answer any questions that arise.WiredProductGaming Terrible they almost killed my wife they tried giving her penicillin and shes highly allergic. My toddler loved him. Everyone was kind and loving towards us and our situation. I was extremely please!Tina Tatom⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe MultiCare Valley Hospital ED provided excellent care with efficient service treating my back pain. I receivedButch Ekin⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHaving been admitted to the ER with, later found out a subdural hematoma, I was given THE BEST MEDICAL CARE anyone could ask for…. On a scale of 1-10(The best) I would give that team an 11 ! In the shape I was in, I don’t remember names but MultiCare Valley Hospital ER should be VERY proud to have such competent AND cheerful staff representing them. Thank you being able to give some praise to this wonderful “crew!”Teresa Finch Very disappointed in my visit to Valley Hospital ER. Everyone tells me never go there go downtown! Now I know why. After being advised from my Dr to go immediately to the ER, not Urgent care as I had temporarily (20-25 min) lost my eye sight in left eye I went. Upon arrival BP was 178/125. They quickly got me in to a room, the two who attended to me quickly got the EKG stickers onto me, took my blood and left the port as they felt it was important to give me something to get my BP down. They shared that the attending physician would be in. They left me there for a good 30-40 min. They returned and said the attending physician said I didn’t need to be there and was sending me home and had made an appointment for later that day with an opthomologist to see why I lost vision. They left the room to get my discharge paperwork. In the meantime I got dressed, took off the ekg stickers that they never hooked me up to. When they came back with the papers they said ok, you’re good to go! I asked if they would like to take the port out of my arm – “oh ya that’s a good idea” was the response. I also asked if they were going to send the blood vial on the counter to the labs. “Only if the y call up an order which they haven’t”. As my husband and I walked out of the room to exit the ER a woman who was chatting away in her cute puffy vest, said “ oh I wanted to introduce myself” as she extended her hand to shake mine. “I’m the physician on call. Just wanted to say hi”. What!? Ohhhh I get it, so she can say she saw me and charge my insurance appropriately. I was there two hours total and this is how I see the attending physician? As I walked out – oh by the way, with my BP still high but In their words “lower than when you came in” -148/98. Well let’s end the story with the opthomologist appointment 4 hours later, he determined I had a mini stroke – amaurosis fugax, a blood clot to the eye rather than the brain. Now ekgs and Carotid Doppler’s, blood work (remind you had blood taken already at the time of the event) and cardiologist appointments. No thanks to the expensive ER visit to the Valley ER! Both opthomologist and my personal doctor were amazed and disappointed they didn’t do the tests that I was sent to ER for. Terrible to know this is how they treat patients there! You sent me the email asking for my rating of my experience – here it is!Eddie Merrillav⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGot me in pretty fast and the nurses took good care of me the whole time.Joe Found older 2 broken vertebrae told me because of the mal Union in my a collar bone from a severe collarbone brake I need a long time a rehab but because I’m broke$ work full time made 26000 and have two younger kids I should probly Google how to get better. Riko Law⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMultiCare Valley Hospital has an outstanding staff that truly cares about their patients. 10/10 on every visit that I have had and never have I had a better experience at any hospital. Thanks to all of the professionals at valley for their dedication to helping the sickTodd Mathison⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAll of the staff that my wife and I met with were polite and engaged in my illness I have going on. The lady that drew my blood was great and funny and the Dr that helped me was very informative on my condition. Thank you very much for the help and physically as well as putting my mind to rest on possibly having something more seriousDavid Ladines⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe emergency room was packed, which is typical for a Saturday night, but we were assessed and seen by a nurse rather quickly. The nurse determined that my son needed an x-ray, and I was surprised when the tech came so quickly and went out of his way to calm an anxious 12 year old boy. The staff was friendly and extremely professional. My son received excellent care and is on the road to a complete recovery.Anne in Spokane⭐️⭐️⭐️After being brought in by ambulance for vomiting and diarrhea, which was then causing dehydration, I was put in a room and all the initial questions were asked. This part was perfect. Long-story-short, when I asked for water, I was told they couldn’t give me any because I was ‘probably going to have surgery’. Ok, I get that. After approximately 90 minutes, they came in and hooked me up to a bag of solution–no explanation, nothing. From that point forward, the only time I saw anyone is when I had to use the restroom. The day nurse treated me like a willful child acting up in school whenever she came in to do stuff on her computer. And everytime I used the call button, I guess it was some loud, shrill sound used for more urgent assistance–but they couldn’t find (and didn’t try to find until about the 4th time I used the other button) the regular call button. Every time I used it, I could hear the cranky nurse (two shades shortly of yelling), ‘why are they using that!’ Lastly, the paramedics had taken blood at my home and the hospital had to wait for the results (again, no one told me anything while waiting for roughly four hours, with almost nothing going on). When the results came, a doctor came in and told me all numbers were ‘perfectly fine’. He even specifically mentioned my kidneys. Eventually they sent me home with a Rx of Zofran. When I went to fill the Rx later in the day, I asked to talk to my PCP or a team member. When the nurse pulled up the hospital report, he said that my kidney numbers were off. He said not critical, but he reminded me to monitor and drink lots of fluids. Why did Multicare doc say they were fine?! It took another 5 days to get my kidney function to go back to normal, so clearly something was up. Not my first unpleasant experience at Valley Hospital, but definitely the worst.Jim Moses⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was treated like I was the only thing that mattered! Great doctors and nurses!Brian Havens⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe whole process was fast and professional. In a desperate time of need, the whole triage definitely exceeded my expectations.Ambrosia Jones⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommendedmy primary physician of majority of my life just retired in August and I am unable to get a primary physician until October and I ended up sick and I was able to come to this place and they were able to help me when I had nobody else. I want to thank them for being professional and courteous and very helpful.Bill Schuckhardt⭐️⭐️⭐️Except for the fact that blood for lab work was taken from my dialysis catheter access point without face mask covering – everyhing was ok. Robbi Logan⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was in and out in about 15 minutes. I was treated well and given what was needed to get better. The staff was professional and kind. This is a good place to go if you have an urgent need for medical care. Thank you staff for your wonderful kindness and care.Kathy Jimenez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe nurses and doctors were very polite. Great bedside manner. Most of all the nurse I had. I believe his name was Richard. He was greatest nurse i have ever had. Also I had a medical student helping the Dr. He was very interested in what I was explaining. The doctor and student makes you feel like a person not a number.Eileen Swanstrom⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Was sent from Urgent Care to ER with suspicion of Bell’s Palsy or stroke. Was very quickly met by stroke team, but they were quickly dismissed. Doctors and nurses were all very nice. Bell’s palsy was visually confirmed, but NO tests were taken.Peni Osso⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was very impressed with how quickly they were at triaging all of the patient with a full waiting room. Although I was in a bit of discomfort, their kindness took the edge off of the wait. Once back, the RN immediately prepped me for an IV, got my blood drawn & to the Lab, and within minutes David Holden, ARNP, entered my room; was very thorough & kind, explained options, and let me have a say in the decisions. He was very knowledgeable and educated me on his diagnosis, and plan. I left feeling well cared for. So nice to know that I have an ER I can trust and close by in the Valley, minus the Freeway & Downtown traffic, plus free parking!❤sophia garcia⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedDr. Cairns was amazing! All of the staff and nurses were amazing as well. I had some previous horrible experiences with the Valley ER when they were Rockwood. I felt Dr. Cairns really listened to what I had to say and showed genuine concern. This is something that has been lost at other area hospitals. It feels horrible when you go for help and you are treated badly. It really made me think twice when I had to take my kids or other family members to the ER. I wish all hospitals were trained to treat people with compassion and respect like the MultiCare in the valley. I would recommend going there, even if it is a drive to get there. You won’t regret it.Brianna Souder⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent to the ER for pains. Literally everyone I came in contact with, from the front desk, transport, nurses, doctors and technicians, were kind and patient. I never felt rushed. They answered all my questions and made sure I understood the answers. I was impressed.Karen Lucas⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was so scared to go to ER. But was totally wrong to be scared. The staff was amazing, the doctor was through and I didn’t have to be admitted..Tami Curtis⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe hospital staff was very kind and compassionate! My only complaint is the registration lady that came into my room with a very bad cough!Mark Fautch⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A great group of people who work together very well, caring healers, they saved my life, and I thank them all, for what they did for me.Brian Shaw⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEvery thing went great, a very friendly staffKyra Straub⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedQuick, thorough, diagnosis and referral. This is what we wanted and we received in an amazingly courteous manner. Thank you to all.Amy Eskridge⭐️⭐️There were several miss steps during my recent ED visit which is a shame because it started out a 5 star experience. The intake was quick and the EKG happened with speed and thoroughness. Once I was roomed my doctor checked in for initial assessment. He was prompt, articulate, and knowledgeable. Made me feel at ease and that I was in good hands. Then I met my nurse Joe for the IV and blood tests. Excellent care given by Joe. My veins are tough and he was able to get the IV with one poke. Imaging happened speedily and comfortably. Even had a nurse manager check in on my care. I was extremely short of breath and the respiratory treatment happened rapidly. Then that’s where things started to break down. I waited for about 50 minutes without seeing anyone. No one. Mind you, I’m short of breath with crushing chest pain. No one checks in for over one hour. Finally, my doctor stopped in and said there was an abnormality in the EKG so wanted to wait and retest. Said 1 hour wait for draw and 15 mins for test. So I waited. 1 hour plus. Finally a nurse and nursing student arrived to draw blood. No sign of Joe or any explanation as to where my nurse went… ? Blood taken and then I waited. Another hour passed.
