Before you go to Navicent Health the Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Macon emergency room think.
ReShonda DavisWent here back in July of 2019 due to a car accident. Staff was rude! They released me before they even reviewing my xrays. I went to the coliseum the following day because I could not move my hand and was told my hand was broken!!!!!!!!!!! Medical Center decided to call me almost a week later to tell me my hand was broken and to come back in smh! I told them about my experience and they said they would inform their director and they would follow up with me and they never did. I would never recommend anyone to go here especially for an emergency. Their sense of urgency is also horrendous.Sheri Simms⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThere are a lot of misguided reviews on here. Navicent Medical Center is a Level 1 trauma center. Georgia has five state certified Level 1 trauma centers, but only two of them are also ACS (American College of Surgeons) verified: Navicent Medical Center and Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. People need to get a grip on what that means. If you can walk in unassisted, you don’t need to be there. If you think you have the flu, or your back hurts really bad, or you’re having an asthma attack, you should go to one of the med stops if they’re open, or one of the other ERs late at night. On the other hand, if you have to be transported by ambulance, tell them to take you to Navicent. You’ll never even see the waiting room, if you come in by ambulance. This place specializes in keeping people alive when they would die without medical intervention. If you’re not literally dying, go somewhere else. The waiting room in the ER can be completely empty, and they can still be completely packed behind those doors, because patients are transported from all over the southern half of the state, for life-saving procedures that are simply not available anywhere but Navicent or Grady. If you have a serious problem, they take it seriously. If you just want someone to make you feel better, you should go somewhere that doesn’t treat high level trauma. Oh, and what’s the big deal about paying for parking? Grady charges more than Navicent does, and they only give you the first ten minutes for free, which is not enough time to walk to the information desk and back.Renaissance ManMy wife has an ankle and foot broken in four places. She was advised by the Doctor that she needed to be admitted because they had to get the swelling down and that she shouldn’t walk on it for fear her whole foot would shatter. He told her to go to Emergency room where they would get her vitals and get her admitted. When we got there, she was laughed at when she told them what her doctor said and told the hospital was “booked up” because of the flu epidemic and she would have to wait for a room. After waiting there from approximately 5PM till 2:00AM, (8 hours!) she had no attention except her vitals taken and blood drawn and we still had no room, not even one in the Emergency room area. No splint, nothing for pain, no attention at all except for when we would inquire about the wait. Several patients who came in after us were taken back in the back and then left but every time we asked, we were told there was no room available even in the ER area. We finally left in disgust and made the over an hour drive back home. Our entire family is exhausted, everyone but me is still sleeping and we they wake, we have to recalculate our options and then go through this again. We would have never dreamed that anyone in the medical profession would so badly neglect someone in pain and need as my wife is! I understand the flu epidemic is serious but so is a broken foot/ankle that may shatter if walked on! I am absolutely outraged by this whole experience and if I could give less than one star I would. I would give negative stars!Gail Hadarits⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I’ve always had a great experience , not that I wanted to be at the hospital , every thing was clean , and most of the people are very friendly an helpful ,Ingrid⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe new children’s emergency room is awesome! We were in and out in no time and everyone was very professional. It was clean and kid friendly. I really expected a lengthy wait time and was pleasantly surprised.Meshiek HarrisI am extremely disappointed with the service my aunt received! She arrived at the emergency room where she had to wait for over 24 hours before someone addressed her concerns. It is unprofessional and quite disturbing to have any human being with an emergency left unattended for an entire day! In the medical field, patients come to you for help in the likeness that you will provide trusted care. This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. I suggest that you conduct an analysis and figure out what the problem is in order to correct it for the safety of your future patients. A lack of funds, resources, and/or manpower being allocated is NOT an excuse. Moving forward, I hope to see progress as I will certainly continue to look into this matter. Thanks for your time.Jared WrightReally just terrible. Unhelpful staff, unhelpful doctors. Would rather bleed out than go back.Cindy SJ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had a return visit to the Navicent ER on July 5th following a dog bite I received on June 23. I’ve since lost some names but thank you Dr Concepcion (sp?) and his team for their amazing bedside manner which calmed me and prepared me for some difficult and painful treatment. I was very apprehensive and I really appreciate them.Brooke MillerI was referred here for treatment on a Sunday night by my OB. They had no problem checking me in and I was very clear what my issue was throughout the night. After being here and questioning the PA, I was told there was nothing they could do but provide a surgical consult because “they don’t do that in the ER.” If only they had told me that at the beginning of the evening, I would have left rather than pay them, still have to see another doctor, and waste six hours. Oh and did I mention the PA tried to give me a class C pain killer that is an opioid while I’m pregnant? Quality care . . . Thank God I asked the nurse what it was and when I refused it, she threw it in the trash!Tammy KleiberWorthless. I was told that the hospital was not the place to come for acute problems like seizures and migraines. It was filthy and a roach crawled on me. After that we left and went to acute care for treatment. Awful staff and is all about not treating patients and as nasty as it is probably going to be sick when leaving.Tracy WaitesRUDEST ER STAFF EVER!Stuart D KentWhy did it take 9 hours for 3 sutures in a finger tip and x-ray? Navicent ER has the same clunky process as their past 20 years that will probably never change. I’m going Rambo next time and sewing myself up. Take THAT Medical Center!Wayne ParksWorst ER in Macon we always go to Northside but some reason we decided to try out this ER worst decision ever. We are still here 7 hours later and still waiting and the bad thing was they only had 3 people in the waiting room when we got here. Like I said never againLawrence Putney⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy experience at this hospital was very very nice. Everyone was very professional and nice. I spent five days in there and I could not say enough about how nice that I was treated.CodyVery rude staff! The nurses, and doctors seem to be clueless. We’ve been here a week and haven’t received any answers. I’m not typically one to complain at all but I could go on forever about their flaws. 0/10. **UPDATE** Was told by one doctor that it was okay to go home until the surgery and another made the decision for us to stay here. Also it would be nice if they would have some courtesy such as knocking before busting through the door, turn off the lights when they leave the room, and it’s impossible to sleep because they come in every 30 damn minutes to repeat themselves! Place need to be shut down.Frank WigginsAs one who has served as a hospital chaplain for years, I have one word for this place. Awful. Unfriendly, unprofessional, poor communication. Too many issues to list them all. Need a nurse? Good luck. My mother called for help getting to the restroom. Help never came. We’ve been waiting 6 hours for dismissal. No one here seems to have any idea what the plan for patients is. No one cares that people are “in the dark” about what to expect about treatments, dismissal, etc Worst hospital experience I’ve been associated with. The most uncaring, unfriendly staff I’ve ever seen.Tracy Ryan⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI received excellent care when i was brought into the ER. Nurses and all support staff where friendly and professional. I was admitted very quickly. I have no complaintsSteven Bolstridge⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI came in with a fractured sternum along with an accompanying hematoma from a head on collision in my car. As in many emergency rooms, the place was packed an busy. (I am an RN myself) I found the staff and doctors very efficient and courteous. Keep up the good work. You certainly have my vote.Lisa McCranieBrought my 71 year old mother-n- law to ER cause she was weak and was not feeling well. She kept asking to lay down and got response. Waited in ER for hours finally getting to back to be seen her potassium was critically low. Put her in hospital on 3rd floor. Waiting in ER for a room upstairs. Rediculous amount of wait time before getting her on potassium. Some nurses upstairs have been good to her and others were slow. There were only 2 of us family members staying with her in shifts while she was there so i do not understand why their is a charge to family members that are caring for a love 1 while in hospital. I can see for just short term visits but, I mean staying hours at time. This hospital makes enough money off people everyday from the hospital stays to the ER. It is stupid to be paying for parking..Bobbi Birt⭐️⭐️⭐️The doctor that treated my husband was very caring and efficient, however one rn was extremely unprofessional and actually quite hateful. I felt that she was a racist who did not like us because we were white. I just don’t understand that kind of behavior by someone who is supposed to be a professional. Step up your game on training your staff in people skills navicent.Brandy LeighICU was great. Step down unit from ICU was terrible. A nurse sanitized her gloves… that’s right not her hands HER GLOVES instead of changing them and performing hand hygiene. Another nurse almost gave my mom the wrong medication, TWICE. (Medications for another patient and would have tanked my moms blood pressure). My mom was a trache patient and she couldn’t suction herself because they had the suction set up on her right side (her entire right side was crushed due to a car accident and it would not reach to her left side) when my mom hit the call bell because she couldn’t breathe due to thick secretions they would respond with “can we help you” over the intercom and my mom couldn’t talk due to her new trache AND NO ONE WOULD COME TO CHECK ON HER. HER AIRWAY WAS COMPROMISED. So we started taking shifts so our mom could sleep through the night without fear of not being able to breathe. WORST HOSPITAL, TERRIBLE NURSES.Angie Perryman⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️We were passing through Macon on Friday evening of Labor Day weekend. I fell and fractured my wrist and elbow. I was transported via private vehicle to Navicent ER. I walked in and the registeration rep was very polite and compassionate. The ER physician came out of a triage room and saw me standing there holding my arm and crying. He looked at it and immediately ordered an X-ray and pain medication. I sat in the waiting room less than 10 mins after that. The X-ray tech was awesome. She told me how she wanted my arm placed and let me manuver my own arm. She never touched my arm and I’m thankful for that. They placed me in the waiting room again for about 8-10 minutes before they called me back. The waiting room was packed. They put in the hall close to the nurses station while waiting on a room to be empty. Gave me the pain meds sitting there. I was there about 15 minutes. They placed me in a room and explained they had called the orthopedic surgeon. The ER physician checked on me several times. They finally set my wrist after waiting about 2 hours. The staff was super nice and compassionate. I have never experienced this level of care at any ER EVER! Only reason I gave 4 stars is they never brought the 2nd dose of pain meds as ordered. I wish I knew everyone’s name so I could thank everyone personally. I would definitely recommend this ER to others! Thank you all and God Bless!Kimberly SpampinatoPatient presented with back and head trauma. Originally admitted to ICU due to condition. Against families wishes moved to floor where care was less than caring or compassionate.Gloria WigginsMy fiancé was admitted to ER -39-A in the Evening after 7:00 pm. The nurse was so rude & she only spoke to us with short or 1 word responses. I am an Investigator with the state of Georgia DHS. I’ve never seen such unprofessional behavior. Also, how does Navicent Health get away with having 8 tiny ‘beys’ in 1 room? Whatever happened to HIPAA Privacy Act? Also, nowhere for family to sit. I stood the entire time & was never offered a chair. This is awful! We will not be back! I refer my clients here often, but not anymore…margi patelWaited 7 hours in ER, my mom got prepared for IV at 3:15 , no body come for IV, Doctor saw my mom at 12:00 at last after that we just waited till 4:30 until other doctor check her. don’t like service.Latonja WilliamsI went to the MCCG to do a mammogram upon coming in with the ticket to be stamped, I was informed that we no longer validate parking , the first hour is free, I told the young lady people need to be informed before the day of and it is sad that your paying to come with your insurance and then now you have to pay , so I will not be using another facility .isaac FSeriously the worst hospital in the world, over 12 hours waiting. No communication with their patients. Finally had to tell them that we just wanted to go home. It felt like we were trapped. These people are suppose to help us and all they did was stress us out more. This is ridiculo s.Je nife Woodall1 star bc I can’t give it no stars…this place is the biggest joke I have ever seen. Much better off going to the coliseum!Valandrea Ken rickBEEN HERE SINCE 6:30pm BEEN HURTING SINCE THEN AND THEY WAITING ROOM NEED SOME CLEANING TO BE DONE TO IT AND I’M I’AM HURTING BAD REAL BAD SICKEL CELL ACTING UP AND THIS DR TALKING ABOUT NOT KEEPING ME MY BLOOD IS LOW AND I AM HURTING BAD DON’T UNDERSTANDCrystal Smith⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Came to get my snitches out they was fast n very nice..Melissa Briggs⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️If you can get past the mental health unit and see a real doctor the hospital i s great i think building on to the hospital is great . Think more about the children and less about the homelss drug addicts on the street and send them to river edge ,anchor turning point.Makesha SmithThe worst experience ever , the staff is horrible an very uneducated about medical needs, let’s talk about the wait omg u mite as well die u will be better off , if you r looking to b taken care of this is not the place to go #closeditdownLatosha ClementsWait time suck the staff is unfriendly non caring you will be there all day and not get the care.you.need not deserve forced to leave and go somewhere else do to wait times they will let you did before they give you treatment …… Run fast to a different hospital they don’t care at.this oneMelissa KuipersCame at 11:30p.m. with Afib Its now 4:01 and I havent been seenLiveva CancelWill not go back they take to long and staff are very disrespectful killer gamer1656This is by far the worst hospital they are always short staffed and take their time to treat you I came in really short of breath (asthmatic) nearly turning blue and purple and had to wait 4 hours just to get a treatment. However correct me if I’m wrong but people with respiratory illnesses come at the top of the list.Katie CrawfordThey make emergency room patients pay for parking now!!!!Macon 478Very slow service Kim StarleuWaiting in ER 8+ hrs now and have not seen a doctor.Anita JohnsonBeen at the ER since 2pm ……it is now 930 pm ……and we came from Columbus , GA ……..Worst experience ever ……and the attitudes of the staff needs a checkup !!!!!!!!!!!!!
