Before you go to Nebraska Medicine Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Omaha emergency room think.
April DeCenzoThe night operator who said his namr was John was extremely rude an unprofessional even though he was told I had an emergency situation. I actually had to call an entirely diffrent hospital and go to there ER.Lisa Avery⭐️⭐️If you would like to be seen within 5 hours, please consider another hospital. My relative was in the emergency room in excruciating pain with no relief for 12 hours. The staffs apathy for pain was not present. Maybe it is due to the fact that they are desensitized, but nevertheless this is a field that cares for people. Upon enter the emergency room my relative was having acute stomach and told by the admittance nurse/staff ” if you want to be seen with urgency or anytime soon I suggest you go to another hospital, because we are full”. Hindsight is 20/20 and we should have listened and left. Because it took 5 hours to be initially seen and 15 hour to be admitted. When I questioned to untimely manner of being seen after 13 hours the doctor told me that this isn’t unusual and that they have seen people be in the room for up to 2 days. I do commend them on their specialties, however the lack of response to patients in the ER is not conducive to the high standards of expectation that is usually associated with this facility. nfortunate, that was not possible so stayed and was in a room after 40 minutes. Upon being put in a room vitals were taken every 2 hours but a doctor was not seen for 5 hours, upon whic an ultrasound was requested. after another 2 hours the ultrasound was taken. that Had a relative enter the emergency room at 7amSteveVal Sutej⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe would not go anywhere else, don’t care how busy they might be when we arrive. This evening’s experience was so amazing we feel so secure about what we we learned about our medical issue, how to do our home care and best practices to prevent. Compassion, caring, sincerely amazing doctors, nurses, front desk staff, security and our valet. Thank you for being UNMC.lady CrimzonI went in for hip & back pain. I’m an RN & actually work within the system. I am having hip pain. I have had hip bursitis in the past, they did some labs & no x-rays. I was sent home with a referral for depression, since I have a new diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. I waited 3 weeks to see a Rheumatologist for an appointment that was made prior to the ER visit. She did a hip x-ray & I have hip dysplasia that has been undiagnosed “probably since childhood”. So there is a reason for the hip pain. Now I have to wait for a referral to Orthopedics for possible hip surgery. And I’m still in pain and now my treatment has been delayed by the ER not doing hip X-RAYS. If they treat a member of their own staff this way, I am worried about how non medical people get treated. 6/5/19 Reply to @NebraskaMed I called Patient Relations previously & left a message in regards to the 1 hour 45 minute wait to get checked in to Access services prior to a procedure that left the pre-op nurses 10 minutes to get me ready. Then they chipped a tooth during the endoscopy procedure. I never got a call back.Radeon GeminiI went in to UMNC ER a few weeks ago for severe lower abdominal pain. I have never been treated so poorly. The only kind person was the nurse. The resident and the Dr were rude and made me feel stupid for being there. As soon as I told them I take a narcotic for chronic pain they started to judge me. One of the Drs even rolled their eyes at me. If they had taken the time to look up my history they’d know what had happened to me and not assumed anything. It’s wrong to treat patients that are in pain like this. It’s wrong to make assumptions about a patient. There are ways to tell if a person is actually in pain, such as an elevated heart rate and my heart rate was very high, not to mention I was hurting so bad I was in tears. These ER Drs need to learn what bedside manor is and help people. You don’t make a patient feel like they are a waste of time. It’s not as if I will enjoy paying a ER bill, it’s not like I wanted to go to the ER at 3am. I knew what I was feeling wasn’t normal and I went to them just to make sure nothing was wrong. I told them this, I told them it wasn’t normal and it scared me… their answer was rediculous… sorry, we didn’t find anything so follow up with your Dr. I’m just so disgusted with how I was talked to and treated. I would never recommend this ER to anyone!Lynette Mosley⭐️⭐️⭐️Some of the er doctors are nice. I was pregnant and felt ill and I knew I had an infection the doctor refused to give me anything. A week later I had a fever, its frustrating. That was situation number 1. Number 2 I had a fever after giving birth to my first child. I had stitches from where I pushed my son out and the doctor wanted to examine me and he rudely examined it. I had just given birth and it hurt so much and all he gave me was ibuprofen. With my second child I skipped the er and went straight to labor and delivery much better.Sushanta Halder⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEmergency medical care facility.Michael Langfeldt⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedSaw a doctor right away and everyone was very nice and helpfulconstance jonesI gave Nebraska Medicine a chance to redeem itself, but as before a major fail. “I’ve done for you what they would do on the floor. So I think you should manage your pain at home” What’s the point of coming and spending 6 hours in the E D, if I’m able to manage the pain at home! There was a time I thought this was a top notch hospital. Now I’m thinking it’s all about founding cameras. If I could rate my nurses separately they would get 5 stars. But the care that the resident and attending physician give 0. After 6-7 hours here I’m going to leave and seek care somewhere else. Because I can’t manage a IIH pressure headache pain at homeGeneral Account⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy mom was at the ER last weekend. She had hurt her ankle pretty bad, and she ended up fracturing a bone in her ankle. The staff here is AMAZING. Dr Walker is so kind, makes sure you understand what is going on and comes by often to check on you, even with as busy as the ER was that night. The nurse (I did not get her name. She’s an RN, mentioned she’s been there for about 3 years) was just wonderful. Her compassion for the people being seen is beyond anything I’ve ever seen. You can really tell that the people who work there really enjoy what they do, even so late at night. Most ER’s are just dreadful. Not this one. Even with the long wait, it doesn’t seem to drag on. I’m thankful for the wonderful care my mother received and how comfortable they made her feel. Thank you UNMC emergency room!!!!!Bree Krueger⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIt gets pretty busy but the valet is usually very helpful and kind. The staff are great and the doctors are worth the wait.Samantha KirbyNurses here have the worst attitude. Don’t waste your timeKay NelsonI waited over 3 hours to be took to a room in the back. Everyone who arrived after me was seen before me. I checked in at 7:30pm and was not taken to a room until 11:15pm. When I checked at 9:30pm how much longer would the wait be, I was told I was next on the list and again everyone got called before me. Never again.Brett Bowser⭐️⭐️My wife came here for a unusual migraine headache. She wasn’t sure what was causing it so we came to make sure everything was ok and to get some pain meds. We were seen right away, and treated for the pain. They did some tests, and once the tests were done we reluctantly were coerced into seeing an OB (she just had a baby). After she asked some questions and gave some recommendations she left. We waited for over an hour to be released. I would have just walked out, but she still had the IV needle in her arm. Time in the ER 11pm-5:30am (for a headache).Bettie Casey⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis is a great hospitalTerry Pony⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFast and reliableeduardo Diaz⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(Translated by Google) The luxury hospital.Ahorita I need another time emergency ..
