New York Presbyterian Hospital Reviews

Before you go to New York Presbyterian Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Cortlandt emergency room think.

Angella Ximines⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI recently just had my second baby here & both times my experience was phenomenal. The midwife Theresa was incredible second best experience if I have anymore children I will definitely be delivering here. The labor and delivery is amazing I recommend this hospital to anyone !T.R. Hummer⭐️⭐️I appreciate the difficulty of ER work. But the staff were slow and, while pleasant, seemed indifferent. When they were unable to diagnose the cause of my acute abdominal pain, they didn’t discharge me: they told me I could (should, might as well) leave. I walked out without assistance or supervision and drove the 20 miles home. It was 4 a.m. Bad show.Ashley Figueroa I didn’t share my experience at this hospital as soon as I was discharged because I had such a long recovery after giving birth to my second baby. A year has past now and it brings me back to the horrible experience I had in this hospital. I remember getting there in extreme pain due to my contractions and a very nice nurse helped me get settled into a room. I was in so much pain that I immediately asked for an epidural. The nurse said I’m sorry but the midwife and anesthesiologist don’t get here for another 2 hours. So, I kept screaming and crying in pain until someone did get there (my water had broke). I asked the nurse if a midwife had arrived yet and she said No. An hour later the midwife gets there and I start going into labor not too long after she arrived. I spent about 3-5 hours in labor. When I finally had my baby girl they put me into a different room and not too long after I started getting a very strong headache. It was unlike any other headache I’ve ever had. I could not sit or support my head so they told me to lay down. The nurses immediately called the anesthesiologist and he diagnosed me with a spinal headache. A spinal headache is a very intense headache. It occurs when cerebrospinal fluid (spinal fluid that surrounds and cushions the brain) leaks out of the meninges (tissue that surrounds the brain and spinal cord). … They are also known as post-dural puncture headaches and epidural headaches. He asked me if I wanted a blood patch which is suppose to seal the leaking and relief the symptoms while it goes away. I said yes to the blood patch and he did not warn me that he was going to start injecting it, so I started feeling pain worst than labor pain in my back. As he was injecting it without me knowing He asked me to scale my pain from 1-10 so I kept raising the number and when I glanced back I realized that the pain was coming from that blood patch that he was giving me, so I screamed ZERO, my pain is ZERO so that he would stop. After the nightmare the headaches went away for a few hours and then came back. When I was discharged they didn’t prescribe anything, so when I went home I couldn’t enjoy my baby for 4 days. I couldn’t breast feed properly and I couldn’t even sit to eat. I had called the hospital to tell them they did not go away but they told me to take 3 Advils every 4-6 hours. It wasn’t getting rid of the headaches but it eventually went away a few days later. I will never set foot in such an uncaring hospital. That lack a lot of professionalism and communication with the patients. The nurses were nice but the higher staff were nowhere to be found when I got there. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone that goes there. I feel scarred for sure.Brian Orsi⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGoogle should really reconsider how its rating system applies to and effects medical institutions. While I can’t speak to these folks’ personal experience, the facts are that NYP is an excellent hospital and the one star ratings are unwarranted. Facts and statistics don’t lie. My wife and I have had a great experience with our first pregnancy here.Bob Acosta⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI would like “thank” all those involved with my wife, patient Edy Acosta, who recently survived a stroke …the Dr.s, Nurse, Aides, were most professional in their diagnosis and hands on gentle care ..I’ve ever seen. From the moment you enter the lobby’s information desk to the cleaning staff & food staff. They were driven by Courtesy, Kindness & Caring ..Esp. PCU ..You are the Best !..Keep up the Smiles – We Know You Care Wouldnt go any where Else.. Thanks for giving my family an early Christmas! Bob, Alisha, Justin, Lela and Max.Patrick Sheridan Dont go unless you want be laught at or possibly Die ….take the extra ride and go to northern Westchester.J M⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have been going here for over 30 years through all its incarnations. I have used the ER WAY too many times and ALWAYS been pleased. Have had dozens of procedures and surgeries. Again Always been pleased. I have come here only now to review them because I now live near VAssar Brothers Hospital and after hearing the horror stories here I am scheduling a procedure back at HVHC even though it is a long drive.Roseann Patient put in room. No nurse appears! This hospital has gone downhill since it became attached to NY PresbyterianJanelle Alemany Filling this out while still in the room waiting for the doctor to show up. Next time will record this. They said my husband needed and IV and antibiotics 20 minutes ago. But they were quick to have a lady come in and have my husband sign paper work so the hospital gets paid, with in 5 seconds of walking in the private room. Why is it taking so long? It’s sunday it’s 6:10pm. So disappointed came all the way from croton. I should have gone to Phelps! I don’t understand the ER has a lot of people working right now. I thought this was supposed to be a great hospital.sherif lajqi⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy experience at the ER . It’s amazing to go somewhere for medical attention and receive the comfort, courtesy and kindness of ALL the staff in the department. From the techs to nurses and doctors, this was by far the most stress-free and pleasant ER experience I have ever had Nurse Joean thank youmaranda gritz⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedLast night I brought my husband to HVHC ER. 1st time I used this ER. they were outstanding and patient with both my husband and my children . Amazing staff all around me. It was so clean also.Doniella McKoy Went to the emergency room where the doctor never showed up and one particular nurse was so rude she didn’t even bother to push the table close enough for me to actually eat lunch. I’m being charged almost $2000 when the doctor didn’t step foot in the room. I know this because its a male doctor on the bill but only women came to the room. My insurance has asked for the hospital to update the “billing codes” and the hospital believes they made no mistake and will not make any changes. Its 5/2019 i’ve been trying to resolve this from 8/2018. Its crazy to me that an emergency room visit cannot be covered but I guess that’s a review for the insurance company…Yousef Alftahi Seriously, this is the worst hospital I have ever visited in my life.Chips Sunshine Remind me not to ever go there. I feel they have no empathy. One particular woman, nurse Christina is over the top, her behavior as a nurse is arrogant in and out, I would never want her to be at my bedside. She looks like either a drug addict or an alcoholic. She has shown so much anger that I would be almost afraid to ever stay overnight on her clock. Not ever planning on going there again. Rather go to the distance somewhere else, I’ll be safer there. Are We were very displeased with the low quality level of healthcare our loved one received from this facility, particularly from a staff member by the name of Dr. Essam Jacob. His total lack of compassion for human life and decorum is disgraceful. It’s so sad to see how the medical industry today practices at such a low back Worst. Had my child involved on an emergency situation and she was never even seen by a physician. Course they charge my insurance company for f full visit to the emergency room yet she only saw a nurse. 2 Days Later my child is back and in the emergency room and they find all sorts of problems that should have easily been detected. this place over the years has become a shitbox with absolutely no medical experience to triage.T Men⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI feel the need to write about my experience at the ER at NYP. It’s amazing to go somewhere for medical attention and receive the comfort, courtesy and kindness of ALL the staff in the department. From the techs to nurses and doctors, this was by far the most stress-free and pleasant ER experience I have ever had. Thank you NYP. Your commitment and care for this Veteran does not go unrecognized or unappreciated. Thank you for all you do.Liz Jacob Wrose experience of my life totally understaffed… needed a procedure done nobody knew that I was NPO until the day of …And then I sat there for another additional seven hours with nothing to eat or drink If you have an emergency please do not go to the Peekskill Presbyterian Hospital Then it gets better doctor wouldn’t sign me out!!! And my Physician on call didn’t have the balls to come up to see meMarion Hansen My daughter went to their ER with a full blown asthma attack. They gave her a pregnancy test and let her sit there for two hours. I phoned and talked to her nurse. I asked why she wasn’t getting her breathing treatment for her full blown asthma attack. I got a snotty answer. Nurse actually said ” I was on my way to give her the meds but I had to stop and talk on the phone with you. As soon as I get off the phone, I can give her the breathing treatment. Wow wow wow.Lora Lupis Horrible experience will never go to this hospital again!!!! Saturday my husband Joe was in horrific pain we went to Hudson Valley as it is close to our home He was running a fever and had a pain in his left flank in his back We did not see a doctor we were seen by a PA she did a CT scan and found a kidney stone stated it was 6mm and he may pass it , maybe he can wait until Monday to see an urologist – they gave hin some morphine and when we left he was still at a 6 on a scale of 1-10 regarding the pain they told us to come back if the pain continues What a night!!! My husband was in so much pain I called Hudson Valley ER and spoke with a person named Donna she stated: well you can come back if you like and we can give him more meds or just wait 3 days until he passes the stone as you can pass up to 8mm and just give him motrin !!! THAT’S IT I AM NOT GOING BACK TO ER so we went to Northern Westchester in Mt Kisco. What a difference , we were met with a doctor not a PA, they took us right in gave him 2 types of meds ,took the pain completely away , he was comfotable they read the CT scan , took blood, urine and did an xray COULD NOT BELIEVE IT, the stone was not 6mm it was 12mm the size of an Acorn and it was wedged in his internal tube The Surgeon stated “HE WILL NEVER PASS THIS STONE !!! At Northern Westchester everyone was so wonderful! Dr. Weinberg came in on a Sunday to do the surgery- he was the best ! Northern Westchester was AMAZING !! my husband came home today and is doing well I got a message from that Donna person I called her back at Hudson Valley wondering why we did not come back – told her we went else were and how my husband needed surgery LUCKY WE DID NOT WAIT 3 DAYS FOR THIS STONE TO PASS!! ,she told me that they are limited in the type of meds they can give a patient and when they run out they can’t get more (really ????) **** I tried to call Hudson Valley to speak with a Susan in Quality Care she was not available states in her voicemail to call back and ask for Mary, I called back for Mary her admin person just transferred me back to Susan’s voice mail A JOKE I called earlier today it is already 1pm and I have not been called back ***** ****Update*** Susan has called me bsck at 2pm and she will investigate my situation ****** IF YOU NEED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE GO TO NORTHERN WESTCHESTER THEY ARE A TOP NOTCH HOSPITAL THAT CARES AND THEY WILL RESOLVE THE PROBLEM!Tuskers Taxpayers Terrible hospital, lack of care, lack of compassion, totally disorganized, lack of communication, night shift was terribly under staffed and neglected patients.DONNA PIVARNIK I went to the Emergency Room yesterday afternoon and Alot of test where done on me.Most all the Staff was nice. After all my test my door was closed and i had no bell in a need for help.I was in there 45 minutes. No one came to check on me.After 30 minutes.I was calling for a nurse loud about 6 times.I had to call the Emergency main telephone number to get someone to help me get to the ladies room. That is unacceptably.
