Before you go to North Kansas City Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this North Kansas City emergency room think.
Angie BakerIt was absolutely horrible. After waiting for 5 hours, the doctor was so rude and impatient. He would ask a question then tap his foot loudly and look up at the ceiling and roll his eyes while my poor sick husband would try and answer as fast as he could causing him to stutter which made the doctor even more visibly annoyed. I have never been treated so cruelly before and it broke my heart for my dear husband to be treated so bad. Of course we got zero help and left there instead of letting them continue to abuse him. I am calling the patient advocate Line tomorrow to see if there is anything they can do for him without him having to go through waiting all day again and seeing that horrible man. This happened about 6 hours ago and it just breaks my heart thinking about how that man took his dignity and talked to him that way. You know that my husband is not the only patient that he has treated this way. That kind of behavior is not a one off – I guarantee he treats many patients with that level of disrespect because if he did it to us he must be doing it to others. My husband has a heart problem among several other serious conditions- we weren’t there for no reason.Luke CoganWent to ER and took them 10 minutes just to ask me if I had been helped. One lady was too busy conversing with a frequent flyer who was obviously a regular to their ER to care about anyone else. They had a 2 hour wait on their triage alone. Ended up leaving and going to St. Luke’s for an emergency appendectomy. North KC was too busy treating flu patients and non-emergency people. Completely ridiculous. How about you open an Emergency, emergency room and leave the flu patients and worry worts in their own little section. St Luke’s said I was lucky I got there when I did. North KC is a joke.Beverly Womack⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I was amazed, there was very little wait time in there er. We were seen fairly quickly. His situation was pretty serious, concern was a possible blood clot. The doctor seemed to think oral antibiotics was the answer. He was made his diagnosis pretty quickly, then we were on our way with a prescription. I do wonder if he throughly check the meds list based on the prescription he gave us. No drug interaction or anything like that, just sort of a duplication. Overall a necessary visit, and someone that is critical, I would give them 3 12 stars out of 5, well 4 out of 5.Max KaplanI had a horrendous experience at this ER Tuesday morning . I’m prone to severe drug-resistant kidney infections, and was having unbearable pain that I knew already was a kidney infection. The doctor never even touched me – didn’t palpate my stomach, didn’t listen to my heart and lungs, didn’t tap my back. I’ve gone through this enough to know what to expect, and I didn’t receive any of the care I needed. I checked my medical record this morning and found that, despite being given my history and my urinalysis coming back normal, the doctor prescribed antibiotics anyway without even ordering a urine culture to confirm the presence of infection. When I called, any number of excuses were made, but I’m a medical professional myself and as far as I’m concerned there’s no excuse for this, especially with my history of drug resistance and the rise of drug resistance everywhere. Frankly, it’s just negligent. I’m sure I’ll have another one of these infections, because I get them every few months, but you can be absolutely certain I’ll never return to this ER.Andrea Trent⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedNKCH is THE best hospital I’ve been to in years! From Triage, RNs, MDs, Techs of every discipline and ER Admissions! All were professional, compassionate, attentive, responsive, friendly and made me truly feel I was in the best of caring hands. The same excellent care continued on the 10th floor. I did involve the Pt Advocate at one point but as it turned out, that was fully my misunderstanding, and as such, at no time was I ever talked down to or made to feel “less than” due to being unable to “get it”. There were daily interactions with Environmental Services, Nutrition and Engineering (and Maintenance?). I’m sure Social Services was there, too, at some time. At no time did any personnel respond in such manner as to cause me to feel further stigmatized over being in isolation and were exceptionally sensitive. I’m trying to find something harsh to say, but I just didn’t have that experience. WTG NKCH! EVERYONE DESERVES DAISIES!Megan Lukehart⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEfficient and thorough medical staff with positive attitudes and a genuinely caring approach to our family.Steven WilsonCurrently have been sitting in the NKC emergency room for over two hours with my PREGNANT fiancé. She’s complained of severe stomach pain accompanied with vomiting all day, and called her OB (At NKC) twice and left messages. She never got a call back so we went to the ER. She’s been sitting here crying since. If we knew wait times would be “around 3 hours” we would’ve went somewhere who would help. If this is how this hospital acts when my wife goes into labor, we want nothing to do with this place. Only rating 1 of 5 because ZERO isn’t an option. Edit. 3 hours later we’re in the room. Dr comes in and starts poking and prodding on her stomach. Asking if there’s a chance she could be pregnant. We tell him she’s 20 weeks and he asks where her OB is. Wouldn’t he know all this information if he looked at the file? He asks if she’s ever had a urine infection. She says yes but this isn’t it. He nods and leaves. We didn’t drive 40 minutes and wait over 3 hours to get a false diagnosis. Worse than any other ER I’ve ever attended.T JIf you want to die then go here. This place is ran like a business instead of a hospital. Unless it’s something simple like a cold, you might as well just walk off a cliff. They will delay your care and do whatever makes them more money.Kathleene Standefer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI love this Hospital. Everytime I go there they have carring Dr. And nurses.
