Before you go to Northfield Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Northfield emergency room think.
M RThe doctors we have had have been wonderful, I delivered my youngest at the hospital. The billing is ridiculous. So frustrating that they offer no discount for self pay patients and that they are clearly charging for the bottom line. 3 of my family members seen, 3 different charges. One had 2 tests and an office visit and was charged less than another who had no tests and just an office visit. 3rd one seen out of town and, low and behold that is the cheapest of all the visits and not by a few dollars try by $220. When is health care going to be about the patient and not your bottom line. I work in health care, I get it, but, it’s very rare if not at all, that a discount is not offered to self pay patients, if you’re not than it really becomes apparent that it’s about the money for you and not the patient.Shayna Jean⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis location is so beautiful and we’re very polite and accommodating. I will definitely come here again.KingSupra7⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedKim Erik and Baby Jonathan are very thankful to have chosen Northfield Hospital as the Birth Center for our little one it was an amazing experience the staff where all very caring and made sure that we had our needs met. other than meeting our needs at a good time they also provided good food service. we very definitely recommend their Birth Center.Barbara Anderson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Easy to get to. Entry was fine. The desk ladies were good. Good services. Calm quiet place. Watch TV. See the nurse then Dr. Spend enough time with you to see what they can do to help.Cash TTerrible place sat here for 3 hours and my gf is still waiting in excoriating pain worst placeStaci Jenkins⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’ll be moving away from Northfield and I’m going to miss this little gem. The ER has diagnosed a couple of blood clots in my neck in the past and just the other night I fell and broke my wrist. I walked in a little after 6 PM and walked out the door about 75 minutes later. I’m not going to find an ER with doctors and nurses like this closer to the cities.Gwendolyn PietschHave had numerous disappointing interactions with this hospital. In their long term care ward, someone in their staff had STOLEN my grandmother’s wedding ring and hospital staff did NOTHING to try to recover it. Long term care ward is honestly a sad joke, don’t place your elderly loved ones here. ER doctors have no idea what’s going on a good 70% of the time. And Dr Layne Moore has too much of a “old medicine” mentality and has very poor people skills.W JamesIf you need Urgent Care services, you are better off going to Fairview Ridges in Burnsville. The Northfield Clinic Lakeville can do is put a bandage on and send you to a real hospital. Overall this place is an absolute waste of time.Britt B⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’m just about to be discharged from the labor and delivery ward after having my second child at the Northfield hospital. I have never in my life received the level of care anywhere else than I have here at Northfield. This is the cleanest and most comfortable facility you will ever find but aside from that, the staff brings a new meaning to the term “amazing”. The nurses in the labor and delivery ward are truly the kindest, most caring and most passionate women regarding their jobs and patients you will ever find. I’m certain you will not have a better experience anywhere else. And to the staff that assisted me in delivering my son and then where responsible for our care after, thank you. Thank you so much for all of the help, knowledge and the confidence you sent me home with. You are all truly miracle workers. Especially nurses Angie, Nicole and Ellie. You 3 are truly amazing ladies. If you are a 1st time mom or a 10th time mom and have not but are able to deliver at Northfield, I recommend you check this place and these girls out. I PROMISE, you won’t regret it!alexa pike⭐️⭐️Two prescriptions I was told I’d have sent to my pharmacy the DAY of my appointments. 3 weeks later for one and almost 2 weeks later for the other and NEITHER were actually sent out. I just think if I’m told that my prescription will actually be sent I should be able to trust it, I shouldn’t have to constantly check up and bug them to get my medication.C JThis place is an absolute joke. They don’t bother processing the correct insurance, then have you fill out an assistant form due to now no longer having insurance just to deny full help to 39% which on a $17,000 emergency room visit is completely uncalled for. I work at a hospital and have for years and there are all kinds of programs along with other hospitals that charge 1/4 of this for their services. I have heard nothing good about this place and their over charging patients for service. No wonder people are dying rather than being in debt and losing their propert because of this place. They will file a claim against you for no payment and take your tax return, property, tax and your home just be aware. THEY CHARGE YOU FOR SERVICES YOU NEVER RECEIVED and then tell you that you may not remember due to the situation.Beka Canfield⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedNorthfield hospital is 5 star in every way. I had to stop in at the emergency room in the middle of a road trip, and every single staff member, from the reception desk, to the nurses, to the x-ray tech, to the lab tech, to the doctor and the ENT specialist were kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. They explained what was going on at every turn and answered any questions I had. They didn’t do any unnecessary surgery or prescriptions, but were thorough in their testing. The ENT specialist was called in on Sunday night of Labor Day weekend but arrived quickly and was so kind. The hospital is small enough that there was no wait to get into the ER but big enough that it was still equipped every state of the art piece of equipment you could need in a hospital visit. Completely impressed and highly recommend Northfield Hospital!Jaimie Jentges⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedLet me start off by saying I have never been to an ER in my life. When my 19 month old had a fever of 103.2 with Tylenol we rushed to northfield hospital. It was a Saturday evening, but our wait was short. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Most importantly, the Dr. correctly diagnosed my daughter. After excluding a couple of other illnesses he diagnosed her with a sinus infection. We were able to get antibiotics out of the vending machine in the lobby (thank god because no pharmacy was open) and within 24 hours she was much better and after 48 hours her runny nose and night time cough, that had lingered for at least a month, were almost completely better. I haven’t gotten the bill yet so I can’t speak on behalf of billing, but the care is top notch. Thank you so much northfield hospital!Tom Glancy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Great hospital and even better staff…! Would give 5 out of 5 stars if the restrooms were kept stocked with tp. >.<E DIf I could give this zero stars I would. Needless to say they do not meet competency for treating chemically dependent or mentally ill patients. They desperately need staff will understand and advocate for people with these diagnoses. Instead of placing people on hold like they should, according to Minnesota statutes, they discharge within 1 to 2 hours of admission and do not document properly.Bronwyn Held⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe Northfield Women’s hospital was excellent. Very accommodating while I was in college and worked with me being out of state a lot. To this day I remember my ob/gyn as the best I’ve had. Nice, quiet, and clean building and waiting rooms, plenty of parking, and friendly staff. I can only speak about the women’s hospital but I never had a bad experience there.tonja clay⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHad all 4 of my children at Northfield Hospital and loved everything about it. Especially the double beds! All the nurses were kind, sensitive and supportive. My Family Practice Doc and the Women’s Health Center Docs worked seamlessly together. We checked our itemized bill against a friend’s bill from another hospital and Northfield was quite a bit less. Quality of care excellent!Iris EYou’d be hard pressed to find a “health care” facility staffed by more unprofessional, incompetent, uncaring clinic/hospital administrators than the Northfield Hospital and Clinics. Their Nfld clinic director has the compassion of a crocodile and cerebral function of a chicken. This facility has turned “patient care” into an oxymoron. I wouldn’t take my pet rat—if I had one—there.suzette clemens⭐️⭐️I was there for a toe operation, on August 21. One day in and out I was told. After the surgery the pain med were not working. The nurse kept asking me in a accusing tone, are you sure you don’t take narcotics at home? Insult! It was around 7 pm, I asked to asked my doctor if I could stay overnight. The nurse came back told me he said no. Later b when I spoke to the doctor he said yes! Around 9 still in severe pain no medicine working. I told the nurse I Was staying. My daughter had gone home and due to the storm we had no electricity. So then the nurse sent in a house supervisor. She said it would be fraud to keep me, and my personal problems weren’t there problem. So I had to go home!!Michael Emerfoll⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedNot to sound mean but these no one ever there so the ER is in and out! Love not having to wait hours like in the cities! And there all very nice!Steven Exe⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had t great Experience. There the. Staff. Was. Amazing. And I was treated Well. Thanks. Again to. All the. Staff I met. U guys. Are. The Best!IAngie Kelly⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBest hospital I have ever been to amazing doctors friendly and efficient front desk staff and nurses sometimes a wait for er but that’s normal I have happily referred several people and they switch from different hospitals and never leave I drive 20 miles to see them when their is a different hospital less then a mile from my home that I will never step foot in again.David McCormick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHad surgery and my baby boy at the hospital, no complaints. Excellent service, staff, and food!inuchan74Horrible experience. Just over a year ago my husband went to the Northfield Urgent Care in Lakeville. We were sure he had the stomach flu, everyone else in the house had had it the week before. But he needed a note from a doctor for work. He went in and the doctor told him that he was probably having an appendicitis and sent him to this hospital. They did several different tests and prepped him for surgery – including premed. They gave him hydromorphone and then stopped everything – said oh you re not having an appendicitis you probably have the stomach flu – and sent him home. They let a patient leave after giving hydromorphone without someone to drive him home! I can’t believe it. And then the almost $9,000 bill came!!! Insurance covered half and we paid another $700 our selves. The hospital was very unwilling to work with us on a payment plan. I finally called to apply for financial assistance which I was told on the ohone I would not qualify for. I said send the papers anyways and guess what we did qualify – for $900 to be taken off. We sent up a psyment plan then and made 2 payments before being advised by an attorney to stop. At the attorney’s direction we submitted all of the information and what happened to the insurance company and now they are investigating because the hospital ran so many unnecessary tests and prripped for surgery when there was no reason to believe he had an appendicitis in the first place. This hospital completely took advantage of my husband who was scared and trusted that they were doing all the right things for him. I don’t even care if we get our $1000 back – I just want them to leave us alone.Graham Williams⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy ER experience with Dr. Fischer was all positive. I came in concerned and emotional about an irregular heartbeat, and the doctor and her staff performed their duties exceptionally well.Alex Wang⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent to ED for minor symptoms that lasted too long, everyone was extremely friendly.John SmithI was having difficulty breathing and went to the ER where the doctors assumed I was having anxiety issues. Turns out it was a common cold. Idiots. And I had new insurance at the time but they didn’t the correct one on file. Instead of letting me know I get a bill for $1000 two months later for some bogus visit to the hospital where the “doctors” on staff couldn’t even correctly diagnose a simple cold.Teseanna Carter⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have lived in Northfield 4 years and unfortunately I have to make use of the ER frequently and have had two surgeries at Nfld Hospital and it is the nicest with the most caring & friendly staffed facility I have ever had the pleasure of visiting or staying any length of time at. And their “hospital food” is delicious :o)Kirk PrattBeware! This hospital is full of con artists. They will charge you and your insurance for items and services which you never received or never needed.Molly Larie⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI arrived at the emergency room @ 3am in tremendous pain and received kind and thorough care. After necessary tests the emergency room dr. admitted me for emergency surgery. Every nurse that cared for me was gentle and very caring. I am very thankful for Dr. Neilsen and all of the staff that performed my surgery. I am having the best recovery I could have hoped for and the follow up care has been very good as well.Maggie Bloom⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️We have a child who is sick more than usual. She has been to the ER at Northfield several times now. Each time we never had to wait, which is really nice when you have a sick and scared toddler. On our last ER visit she had to be admitted. All of the doctors, nurses, and ancillary staff were very caring and helpful. They were very thorough, and erred on the side of caution to make sure they didn’t miss anything. We are grateful to the staff and we have never had a bad experience with this hospital. We have other options for care, but we will continue to choose Northfield based on the care we’ve all received there so far. One caveat: We have not used their regular clinics, only after hours emergency care.Jeff DehlerIf I could give no stars I would. The worst healthcare experience of my life.Laurie UptonWent to ER with severe neck spasm. Was refused help with pain, was told this was directly related to the fact that I was a pain clinic patient. I go to a pain clinic for chronic lower back pain (have had 6 surgeries on back and also am on disability because of pain). Even though my visit had nothing to do with my back, I was told by the ER doctor that if I ever returned again saying I had neck or back pain I would be refused help. Anyone who is in a similar situation as I am, I would NEVER go to this place again.Bennett Campbell⭐️⭐️This Hospital does nothing but deliver babies and serve as an Urgent Care. At its busiest during weekdays, it still seems like a ghost of a previously occupied hospital and its not even fifteen years old! Your best choice is Ridges Hospital in Burnsville or District One Hospital in Faribault. If its something more serious or complex, go straight to HCMC in Minneapolis or Regions Hospital in St Paul. Both are Level I Trauma Centers with fast-track protocols for other minor injuries and illnesses.Robert SchumannThis hospital is worst beside your basic healthcare. Anything major and they take your money for a week and the send you to a real professional.CydneyYou’ll tell multiple doctors for ten years that your antidepressant medication isn’t working and instead of changing it, they just up the dose. Went to a professional and they said I was never on antidepressants. The doctors at the hospital lied to me about what medication I was taking. Never going to their clinic again.Lorilei A⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I like it a lot.
