Before you go to Norton Brownsboro Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Louisville emergency room think.
Pat Beach⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedPresented to the ER last night with unbearable leg and knee pain. Everyone I encountered was extremely nice and compassionate. Couldn’t have asked for a more knowledgeable and caring physician who diagnosed my pain and treated it appropriately and sent me home with the meds I need to heal. After spending a week in bed, I finally slept all night pain free and am looking forward to enjoying my life again. Thank you Norton’s Brownsboro for helping me get my smile back!Hazel Mae TackettDrove to this end of town hoping to find a hospital with a friendly environment due to it being in the East end. As soon as we walked into the ER, a nurse pops the corner and says “jesus christ” in disgust at the amount of people in the waiting room. Needless to say, we decided to leave. Wouldnt recommend.karen wineWILL NEVER NEVER GO TO THIS EMERGENCY ROOM EVER AGEIN!!! MY MOM WAS VERY SICK YESTERDAY AND WE TOOK HER TO THE CLOSEST EMERGENCY EOOM TO US- BIG BIG MISTAKE. THEY ONLY HAD ONE NURSE CHECKING PEOLE IN AND THEY WERE VERY RUDE!!! MY MOM WAS FREEZING AND I ASK FOR A BLANKET AND THEY SAID THEY DID NIT HAVE ANY. WHAT KIND OG HOSPITAL DOESNT HAVE BLANKETS!!!! WHEN THE NURSE TOOK HER BACK TO GET BLOOD I SPECIFICALLY TOLD HER NOT ITO PUR THE NEEDLE IN HER HAND BECAUSE IT DOESNT WORK AND IT BRUISES TEALLY BAD BUT SHE DID NOT LISTEN AND DID IT ANYWAY AND SHE FOJND OUT IT DIDNT WOEK AND HER HAND BRUISED SOOOO BAD!!! IT TOOK US OVER TWO HOURS TO FINALLY GET SEEN!!!! SO I SUGGEST IF YOU WANT GOOD FAST CARE AVOID THIS HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM!!!!! I AM GOING TO FIND THAT NURSES NAME AND FILE A COMPLAINT!!!!Janie BrayBeen here since 1:30. Still waiting. I know my son has a herniated disc . He is in excruciating pain. This is the most inefficient ER I’ve ever been in and I’m a nurse. Wish I could give 0 stars . Most active thing here is security staring you down. This is horrible.Tarise MitchellI arrived at this facility at 9pm on Friday and left after 4 am Saturday morning. I came directly from work due to dizziness. I had a CT Scan, MRI and blood tests. Physician never came to explain results of tests. I understand the process can be tedious, long and complicated. But 7 HOURS. Had to come back Monday to pick up return to work form that should have been given with discharge papers. I called ahead and was told that it would be waiting at Registration. Needless to say, it wasn’t. Person at Registration was actually rude and condescending. Definitely would NEVER come to this hospital againTeri Ware⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy experience at Norton Brownsboro Hospital was very positive. I was very ill with an infection. I had to wait my turn. They ran tests to make sure exactly what was wrong. Each individual that waited on me was kind and compassionate. I highly recommend this ER and hospital.Cecil Watts⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedUnfortunately, I have been admitted twice thru the ER at Norton Hospital Brownsboro. The first time, they literally saved my life with their quick diagnosis. I was in CCU for 30+ days and received the finest care I could ever imagine. My latest visit was for a cardiac event. Again, I was well cared for very happy with each nurse and doctor who treated me. I would not go to another hospital.Eric A.Took family member for test . Technician barely spoke English. Wanted family member to perform bandage removal because no RN or CNA available and she “not my job”. More incompetent than old Jewish downtown. If you have an option….stay away.Koral ByersThe lady at the front desk named Bobbi is very rude. She got very snappy and had the WORST attitude with me all because I asked how long it’s gonna be because we had a FIRST PRIORITY emergency. She called security, and security didn’t have any problem. The actual nurse came out and took him back immediately. That’s all we wanted and she was very rude and snappy for absolutely no reason. I asked to make a formal complaint and they even refused to let me do so!!!Vena Raleigh⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCompassionate and attentive employees in critical care.Aaron RowanThe slowest ER in Louisville by far. 2.5hrs get triaged then told another 2.5hrs to be seen. Still waiting.S CiottiAwful. Awful. Awful. Nurses are overworked. Not staffed for the patients that they receive, therefore second rate care because they have NO time and they are exhausted.Corilily06I was admitted for 5 days. KATHIE was horrible to me. I had 3 nurses (one of which was the head nurse) walk in on me while I was using the restroom to confront me about having a vape pen with me. They lied about me, called security. Tried to kick me out….all while I cried, I will never ever go back there. They are hateful and heartless. I sat there for 3 days doing nothing, no tests, no help, no care. This is the most incompetent hospital I have ever been to in my life. I ended up leaving without their consent because I was not receiving any care that would actually help me.g8terboi 11Terrible experience at the ER. Came in with severe stomach pain and left with severe stomach pain. I feel like they thought I was just some junkie coming in wanting pain medicine. It took 3 hours just to get some medicine for stomach spasms. They could not give me answers to why I was in so much pain. Only referred me back to my primary doctor. Will not be going back here or recommend to anyone.Katie BennettCalled to see how long the wait was because my significant other was suffering from appendicitis and we were trying to find the best place to go. The girl was rude and said they were full and had to take people from ambulances first and it would be standard 6 hour wait.Epilepsy MommaIf I could give this hospital zero stars, I would! Went to their ER 5 days ago, after being bitten by a feral kitten. After waiting 3 hours, I finally got a room, the Dr. came in looked at my thumb, and said she was going to put me on antibiotics. I told her I wanted the rabies vaccine to be safe! She refused, stating that most cases of Rabies are from bats or raccoons. She was very rude and sarcastic! She left the room and about an hour later, a nurse came in with a prescription to Amoxicillin (in the Penicillin family). Upon being admitted, I told the nurse I was extremely allergic to Penicillin! I told the nurse I couldn’t take the Amoxicillin, because I was almost certain it was in the Penicillin family! She left the room and a half hour later, came back with a different prescription. So here I am at home, 5 days later, with a fever of 102, chills, a headache, sore throat and a cough…..wondering if I did in fact contract Rabies! I will never go there again! Worst ER ever!Lisa HelphinstineMy husband went to your emergency room complaining about a stomach ache. You sent him home talking about gallstones. I took him to another emergency room because he was still hurting where he passed away. If he was treated correctly he may be alive today. There was something wrong with his heart. Terrible, terrible hospital. Don’t know what you are doing. I’m so angry. Please people don’t ever go hereAnne WheelerEmergency Room is slow. Patients admitted to the hospital from the emergency room have too long a wait.Katie LindeI expect a bit of a wait in the ER when you enter without a life threatening injury/disease. However, we waited 5 hours before being brought to a room to wait another two before being given three different diagnosis by three different people. We were sent here by Norton Immediate care, but I assure you we will never be back. Worst. Experience. Ever.Tammy BurdenER nurse and MD tried to get me to stand with a hamstring injury. Did not investigate why I was blacking out . Didnt check my BP to see if that was the cause. Normal procedure. I worked in another hospital for years and Nortons Brownsboro didnt follow protocol. I had a torn hamstring. The nurse on night shift threatened to take me out to the car in a wheelchair because I wouldn’t and couldn’t stand. I repeatedly said I am dizzy and going to pass out. My sister was with me and she was shocked of how that nurse was treating me . I was in a lot of pain. When they tried to get me up It was too late blacked out on the stretcher. The nurse left me thought I was faking that too. My sister tried to get help. Physical Therapist came in the ER tried to get me up in the morning but she listened to me and took my Blood pressure. She said I shouldn’t stand and told the doctor of my low BP. That is when I got admitted for 5 days BECAUSE of my low BP. The worst ER experience of my life. There was one good kind nurse that was with me at the beginning for a couple of hours then her shift ended then I got the nurse with the attitude. Never again. I am going back to the hospital that I know best and will get excellent care in their ER in an emergency, but not Nortons Brownsboro ever.Tammy France⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFrom the ER to my hospital stay I was treated excellent. They took the very best care of me.Ana HWorst ER! I sat there for three hours waiting to get a room. Other people went in and were in far better condition than I was. I understand some did go in for chest pain and things that ARE an emergency. I was nearly doubling over in pain and I was not seen by an actual doctor or nurse. Just the guy that wanted my insurance.Chris GravesBeware of the ER here. This is a terrible hospital. I came in in excruciating pain and they ignored me for an hour. I left and went to Baptist. I was having a mild stroke. WORST EMERGENCY ROOM in the AREA!!!Cathy Miller⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOutstanding ED, well equipped to handle all types of emergencies. Dr. Ritchie took excellent care of my daughter. RN Joseph was caring and professional.Mimi 83I was treated for my asthma with compazine (never had it before and I’ve had asthma 36 years) when I asked what it was I was told it relaxed my bronchial tubes so that the asthma meds would work better. I didn’t want the medicine, but i didn’t want to be seen as a difficult patient so I went along with it. Well, the nurse administered the meds through the iv within minutes I was having a reaction. I felt like I was losing my mind I was ripping off leads, pacing the floor ready to jump out my skin. My mom called the nurse in at this point I’m scared and crying trying to figure out what’s going on with me. The nurse then laughs and says it’s normal and she knew the doctor shouldn’t have prescribed the medication bc it was for Psych patients… Wait! What?!? She then told me I was having a really bad reaction that brought on a really bad panic attack. I truly doubt that was a panic attack, but ok. She then told me it would be over in a few hours. My mom and I figured out maybe we could flush the medicine out by increasing fluids. So I drank myself crazy and each time I went to the bathroom it was a bit better. I asked if I could go home and just sleep it off they said legally they couldn’t discharge me bc I was having a bad reaction. I honestly didn’t feel comfortable after this happened I just wanted to get out of there. Ended up being able to sleep it off and about 3 hours later I was ok enough to go home. When I told my PCP what happened she told me they were supposed to administer Benadryl BEFORE to counteract that reaction. They didn’t give me that just allowed me to suffer. The 2nd time I went to this place I had to have medicine administered via i.v. and it required Benadryl well the nurse gave me the Benadryl too fast I started gasping for air I couldn’t speak to tell them what was going on I was coughing uncontrollably and gasping i couldn’t get air it felt like I was suffocating. It was like an elephant was sitting on my chest and the muscles in my stomach wad trying to get air into my body. Apparently, if you shoot the Benadryl in the i.v. too fast it suffocates you. I guess nurse and my mom were scared and yelling at me trying to get me to tell them what was happening another nurse heard the deep gasping and coughing and came in to see if she could help. She asked the nurse what happened and when the nurse told her she scolded her and told her she wasn’t supposed to push the Benadryl through the i.v. so fast. They kept me there for a couple hours to make sure I was ok to be discharged. The doctor and several staff members came in to apologize. This was the last time I was treated at this hospital and I refuse to go back. The staff is incompetent and it’s a wonder they haven’t been sued.Janet Schnell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Team Jeff and Cody on 4th floor are outstanding. Efficient, caring, and personable. 2nd knee surgery at Norton’s and good experience. 1 suggestion they need food items on recovery floors for people with diabetes.Jackie B⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI can’t speak to the ER experience as I came to visit after my loved one had been admitted to the ICU but the nursing staff is incredible. So patient, caring, helpful, and empathetic. Really thankful for all of them during a very difficult time.Teresa PayneI was there on Sunday for a x-ray of my leg. I got there at 12:00 and didn’t get out of there until 6:00. They said I would get to go after they gave me a pain pill but I had to wait for 30 minutes. After a hour and half they finally let me go. And they put me in the hallway on a bed not even in a room. NOT TO HAPPY.Debb EdwardsI am 62 years old and disabled. I went to this hospital because I fell on hardwood flooring and was in a tremendous amount of pain. I saw the ER doctot very briefly. I was admitted to the hospital. I arrived approximately 1:30 pm and did not have a room until almost 8:00 pm. The doctor ordered several xrays, CT scans, snd MRIs. The doctor who came to see me discuss the test results in detail. He did not care how much pain I was in. He treated me like a bum and a drug addict. The nursing staff made numerous errors regarding the medications I take at home. They were not concerned about my comfort. If I asked for something. I was told things like “I’ll get it for you later,” but later never came. Some of them were extremely rude. Upon discharge, the doctor had a list of medications for me to stop taking. He had no right to make that decision because he is not my doctor. He didn’t care to sit down and talk to me to find out my background. He was not compassionate or kind. I would not recommend this hospital. You will wait forever and you will not receive proper care.Stephanie AIf you need medical care, don’t go to this hospital.Unbiased ReviewerLong wait times are to be expected in an ER, unless you are actively dying or have a life threatening emergency, expect to wait. Period. It’s not first come first serve anywhere you go. That being said, I have worked ems for years and have had interactions with several ERs in the state. This is one of the worst as far as disrespecting responders and blatantly ignoring them. PSA: we aren’t all morons , who do you think keeps patients alive in an emergent situation before their arrival? We are capible if much more than what is realized, all without needing an order or instructions to do so. I little mutual respect goes a long way .Marc Thomas⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Received good care first time in about 6 months ago. Visits since then have been hit and miss.Vicky LeeEquipment malfunctioned continually – including heart monitor and fire alarms. Staff did not care. DO NOT visit this hospital if you value your or your loved ones lives. Fire alarms malfunctioned – none of the staff knew the procedures for evacuating. There was a small fire in one of the back labs which the staff themselves attempted to put out prior to the fire department arriving (overheard two staff members say this). When the heart monitor malfunctioned and flat-lined, no staff member came in to check. Sheets/blankets not changed after prior patients leave – syringes, needles and trash, blood all over the place – this was not the ER here – this was in a room. Guards double as medical personnel. Staff takes cell phone cameras into rooms & text. Wait till you see the bill – they charged for IV’s yet there were none. Medicare fraud at it’s worst. Efficiency – Zero Safety – Zero Trained Staff – Zero Compassionate Care – Zero Equipment Malfunctions – 100% Cleanliness and Sanitation – Zero Disease Prevention – Zero Fire Safety Procedures Awareness – Zero Responsiveness to Patient Complaints – Zero Staff Attitude – Zero Nice Guards, though. I visited in 2016. Not one thing has improved, it seems.Devin StrothoffDo not come here for any emergency, they do not care and will leave you in waiting room for hours while people are going back qnd forth in and out. DON’T COME HERE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.Melissa FlynnWow what a terrible Emergency room experience! First off the check in nurse was rude to someone else while she was taking care of me and then I get back to the room to see the Doctor over an infection in my blood work and let me tell you this was the rudest doctor I have ever seen. I got up and walked out. If you want respect don’t go to this ER.Mahesh Seshadri⭐️⭐️They very inefficient and slow. The beds are very uncomfortable and the staff are not empathetic. They are barely responsive Surprised they call this emergency roomDebra DunnWorst emergency room I’ve ever been in. Rude and in no hurry to do anything except sit behind the desk. Asked 2 different people for tylenol for bad headache and 2 hours later no tylenol. Had to get the guard to get me a blanket cause nurse didn’t have time. Finally walked out. Had surgery here and I will say the surgery staff is great. It’s a shame the ER staff are so bad. I didn’t know nursing school taught classes on rudeness and indifference bet they all got A+rick Gelthaus⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️My wife and I have used Norton Brownsboro Hospital many times. Though they are not perfect, we have found our wait in the ER is a fraction compared to the other hospitals in Louisville, including other Norton Hospitals. We find the personal at Brownsboro to be caring, kind and attentive. We live less than 5 mins from another Norton hospital and we have agreed not to go there even if bleeding to death. We will take the chance of the 25 min. drive to get to Brownsboro.Amy MillerI only wish there was zero star option. I’ve had friends and family in this “hospital” 4 times and none of them have had a good experience. They aren’t fully staffed and the front desk worker of the emergency department looked me right in the eye and lied, telling me that my family member, who I know was back there, wasn’t at this hospital. I wouldn’t bring my worst enemy here!Wendy Skaggs⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I really loved the care i recieved at brownsboro. The staff was really good to me and i dont want to go anywhere else if i dont have to.Dale Salyers⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have had several surgeries through Norton’s and the services are absolutely top notchKevin MillerSecond time coming to this ER and definitely my last. Both visits were over 5hrs. They really don’t seem to actually want to see patients.Lea Druck-MooreThe young blonde girl at the sign in desk was the rudest, most uncaring and hateful human being I have yet to encounter. I brought a dear friend in to this ER at 2:20 pm on July 10, 2018, to recieve treatment and help. This sorry excuse for a “caregiver” or human would not help her walk in. She said and I quote, “I’m sorry but we don’t do that here.” …. What?! I thought that helping others is what the hospital does?.. I hate having to write this but I was embarrassed for bringing someone here for help. I really hope things change in all hospitals but this person should really be given a different job. She was very unacceptable.Michael MorrisMade a second visit in 2 days. First doctor missed the opportunity to properly find and correct the root cause. Reaction to antibiotics. Perhaps a name change to emergency care. Then just maybe the staff would behave as if they cared. No empathy. I apologize to staff I didn’t see. I know there is someone employed there that does care. But I didn’t have contact with anyone in my experience that seemed to care. I am an Human Resources professional. Trained to observe. My diagnosis, a bunch of people who hate thier jobs. This place needs an emergency intervention. Not the image an hospital wants to present.otis barnesExtremely slow and staff does not care about getting people helped. Slowest place ever and they said this was a good night time wise waiting. 6hrs. So far. But we gotta stay!Matt ArmyIf it wasn’t the only hospital around we would never come here. I’ve never seen longer waits in an ER. Level of service is terrible. Better off driving to IN.Loretta MonigoldThe worst E.R ever. Even with great insurance you will be here for 10 hours before ever going to the back. If I could give it a negative 5 I would.Yaima CarmonaGO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Been here for over 5 hours and still waiting. A nurse (after people being treated very bad for asking the front desk personnel about how long more they’ll have to wait) came out and said “3 hours at the most”, not sure what “kind” of hours he was talking about!! I hope once inside I have a better experience. First and last visit to this place.Kathryn Love⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Probably an unusual experience but I was quickly processed to admission and the only complaint is that the rapid viral diagnostic test should have been done thereDiana PhillipsNeed a zero rating! This place is a joke. Very sad that these people are in the medical profession.Caryn WeferlingNorton ER is the wrong hospital to go to if you actually need to see a doctor. On a random Thursday night, we ended up leaving after a few hours, because the person to our right and left had already been waiting in the ER for 7+ hours. The receptionist told us they would still charge us a fee for sitting in their waiting room for hours because they had run our name through the system. Ridiculous.MARK A.Got here 230 pm had 3 people plus doc.check on her.they don’t keep u updated.i finally asked if mother will get room, after almost 8 hours and was told not till tomorrow,so I left.1st and last time for er..Kim Ricketts⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery Busy day at the hospital today and the second floor staff you are amazing. Thank you for taking time with your patients.DonCooHad a petty bad bicycle accident. Went to the ER and they stitched up a wide, open, wound on my elbow/arm. Didn’t look at anything else, like all the asphalt in my shoulder, etc. Sent me home with asphalt still in my shoulder. Was told to come back if I started running a fever, elbow turned red and/or had chills. Had all three the next day so I returned to the ER. After waiting 2 ½ hours I left. Went to another hospital, Baptist East, where I was taken right in, placed on an IV and told “you will be staying with us for a little while.” There was other people waiting in front of me at Baptist’s ER, but once they looked at my arm I went right into the ER. I was in the hospital for three days fighting infections and had minor surgery on my arm. I now know the wound should have never been stitched closed because of its size, I should have been placed on an IV immediately to fight off infections and they should have gotten the asphalt out of my shoulder. It’s apparent I’ll never go to Norton’s again for healthcare.Ross Williams⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVisited the ER today and within 3 minutes had EKG done and was in a room. Staff was responsive while time I was there. Would recommmend.Brian FoardWatched 8 people who came in after us go before us. Left and went to Suburban.Gordon BrownCame to get stitches for a small wound over my eye. Been here five and a half hour and still waiting withalmoswi no information from staff. Go elsewhere!!Jack BowlingInsane wait time. We have been in the waiting room for nearly 4 hours. Doesn’t appear that we are going anywhere anytime soon. Will never come here again.Cameron Peake5 hour wait time is an unacceptable number!!! Figure it out people, it is a business at the end of the day, you are messing with people’s lives!!!jeffrey oliverEven though it is January 1st, New Year’s day, a 6 hour wait in the E.R. is ridiculous. At least there is about 6 security guards roaming around. The hospital really has it’s priorities out of whack when it comes to staffing. Half of the people have left after they checked in. Will never come back to this hospital.Syrn AMThey are racist because the lady kept telling me that there weren’t enough bed but every white folks got a bed even the ones that came after me!!!!!!Slayer 80129⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Took care of my Mother in no time. Friendly staff.Jeffery FirthI agree with other posters…1 1/2 hrs and still not seen. They don’t seem to give a damn. If I didn’t think it was serious, I wouldn’t have come to the EMERGENCY ROOM!!! Won’t be coming back here again.George QinTRUST ME EVERYONE ON MY EXPERIENCE & ADVICE – THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST & MOST ABUSIVE HOSPITAL I HAVE EVER BEEN AT. STARTED TO FRAME ME FOR THREATENING & EVEN ONE TIME CALLED THE POLICE WITHOUT EVALUATING ME. THIS HOSPITAL DESERVES TO BURN IN HELL !!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.Amber Mc Donald⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOnly place i come
