Novant Health Medical Center Reviews

Before you go to Novant Health Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Winston-Salem emergency room think.

Leo Germany⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I actually did stay in the hospital starting from EMS down to the ER then up to the 6th floor for 8 days due to gallbladder infection/ Removal . PEOS : 1-Very experienced staff. 2-Very nice service and support. 3- Very professional and personal care. CONS: 1- Very long time waiting for anything. 2- Very noisy and loud environment. 3- Very bad tastings food. I couldn’t believe that people actually eat it!!Resa Spicer Out in waiting room in a wheel chair. The lady called me one time. I literally had to get up and catch her or she was leaving through the doors and write me off. I even told her I felt like I was going to pass out. No offers for another wheel chair after I lost mine trying to catch her in the Er. She took blood and urine. Now I’m back in the waiting room. Please someone build another hospital that has staff that treats you with compassion. Check out the rating.Angeline Life Do not come here with an urgent emergency you will probably die in the waiting room. Worst ER ever. My husband split his head open and needed stitches we waited 4 and 1/2 hours with him bleeding in the waiting room, at which point we went to ask how much longer and we were told he had been taken off the queue! They put him back on the queue and we were taken back a few minuets later. Once we were taken back however they brought us to a room and then had to sit us in the hallway because the room was not clean!! After a total of FIVE hours we finally got out of there. If we had had to wait much longer they would not have even been able to give him stitches since you have to get them within six hours of an injury. As awful as four and a half hours is one of the nurses told us that wasn’t that bad some people over the last couple weeks have had to wait ELEVEN HOURS!!! Nurses and doctors were professional and knowledgeable but obviously this hospital has some major staffing, management and organization issues. Do not come here with an urgent emergency you will probably die in the waiting room.Sue Call Waited 3 hours to get a nurse to start a iv. Stuck me several times still no iv. Had to leave and go to another er. Horrible experience. No wait to get in. I wonder why? One of their own employees told me to go to another er.Cindy Solis Horrible ladies on the floor staff doesn’t care horrible waiting periodIsaac Files Overall I think that we were pushed back on the list. Service at this location is terrible we waited more than four hours before we were even close to being seen. I would not recommend this Emergency Room to anyone. Update it’s been almost 7 hours and still waiting. I don’t blame the staff, but something is wrong with this system. And the sad part is the ER is just about empty.thomas doran⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThey got me right in and got a CT Scan of my lungs and found a bunch of the blood clots on themKen Levinson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAs an injury lawyer, I hear about many hospitals. I know first hand how excellent the staff is at Novfant. Very impressed with the compassion and expertise the nurses, staff and physicians show. Hope you don’t wind up in the ER, but if you do, you or your loved one will be well served gong to Novant.Jessie Billings⭐️⭐️⭐️The staff are stressed, and they’re doing whatever they can. I’m sure it can be a thankless job, but DANG. I was waiting for four hours and the young lady next to me had been waiting for five plus hours. Don’t expect to be treated quickly here.karla watson I’m a 56 yr old black woman… I came into emergency department complaint about the pain and swelling in my mouth. Not only was the”front desk” receptionist NOT VERY receptive, she was rude… When ER came to examine me, Dr.Branden L Blank(like that’s not suspicious) began to all me questions, but once I went to answer them HE STUCK his fingers in my mouth while I was talking.I have a bad heart and have had one heartattack already, my blood pressure was raised due to the pain in my mouth… And they noted that my vitals were high and still denied me pain medication for the pain I was in. I believe this was an act of DISCRIMINATE, not just because I’m a black woman, but rather”A WOMAN” and I believe people like this MD use there “so called” power to cause harm to folks they don’t want in society.. My insurance covers the cost so what’s the problem? I DO KNOW that”WHAT GOES ON IN THE DARK… WILL COME TO LIGHT…” I just hope sooner than later.. What a creepChristy Hottinger If I could give the ER a zero star I would. On 1/9/2019 I went to ER with low oxygen levels in the 80s and difficulty breathing from what was thought to be pneumonia and negative flu test per my PCP. I waited over 22 hours in back hall of ER no oxygen, no fluids, no antibiotics, unmasked around hundreds of flu positive patients. Oh yeah 4 days into my hospital stay I got the flu from my exposure in their 3rd world poorly run ER too on top of what I already had! Nurses ignored all my and my family’s attempts to get their attention or help. Could not even get a cup of water, blanket or pillow in the ER! No one checked on me or rechecked my vitals the whole time in hallway even when I started vomitingI was not reassessed! Once transferred to 9th floor again it was without antibiotics (until DR came in and my husband asked why not on antibiotics and he looked shocked and ordered them) I waited an additional 12 hours for care on 9th floor! At which point I had declined to complete respiratory failure and had to be put on ventilation for 9 days and transferred to ICU where I stayed nearly a month! Then to rehab to learn walk and do basic activities again. I’m still recovering. My family complained to social worker at hospital during all this. Got letter back from hospital who said they reviewed case with the nurses and determined I recieved excellent timely care! Apparently it is normal and good care to wait in ER for more than 20 hours w/out care during a critical illness and progress to respiratory failure! Love how the patient services invalidated my experience too by telling me it was all done perfectly and me and my family were wrong to think otherwise because we were in an emotional state of seeing me sick! Yeah watching your family member or self almost die b/c the hospital failed to provide timely care is pretty emotional. Waiting 22 hours for care for low oxygen and breathing problems is not acceptable care on any planet no matter how crowded hospital is with non emergency flu patients. Telling them it is after they nearly died is not compassionate either!Diana Pryor They will bill just about anybody with the same name, even if it’s not that person. Send it to their credit report, then to collections. WOW, Your right someone needs to do something about this hospital billing department for uncollected accounts. RETRAIN, sounds good.Kelly Waisner Not worth the one star but you can’t write a review without selecting one……….had a family member in the ER since 1am was told for 18 hrs we are working on getting a room….then she is wheeled out into the hall so another person could have the bed bay, even tho she’s there for an illness that requires hospitalization and was told “there was no room in the inn like Bethlehem “.by the nurse?!? The staff never offered her breakfast or lunch while shes been there (and yes she could have food). It took several calls to get assistance to the bathroom. NEVER again will this facility be considered as an option!!Sam Ponjican⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedUnfortunately we’ve had several visits to the Forsyth ER and we were always visited with compassion and excellent care. Thankful for kindness from the staff.Nakitta Kiki Long Terrible experience. Wait time of 5 and 1/2 hours, which staff states is normal for any patient on an average day. There were people in the waiting room, clearly needing to be seen or quarantined, throwing up on the floor. One patient came with a dog and the dog used the bathroom on the waiting room floor. Something should be done about this place. There needs to be some type of investigation into their practices, and I will be researching how to ensure this location is held accountable. This cannot be normal or legal when people have to wait over 5 hours to be seen regardless of their condition. Many patients go to the emergency room because their problem is an emergency. The staff are in no way concerned with making sure patients are taken care of in a timely and compassionate howell Left after waiting 5 hours though the waiting time posted said wait time would be 25 minutes.Anita Winfrey⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIf it wasn’t for this place., Novant Medical Centers that I have been too I wouCorey Kauffman Went in to the ER couldn’t breathe I have sjs which can cause serious respiratory issues, was told the wait time would be over 8 hours, so what you wait until I black out in the floor or something to worry about it? This hospital is a disgrace. You tell me the wait time is 8 hours, I say I can’t breathe and you still ask me if I’d like to check in? You people are insane. Would give 0 stars if possible. Hell negative stars..Jeremy Scott Worst hospital ever. Bad staff, slow as can be, they made my girlfriend wait for 5 hours! Most the staff I saw was on their phones or talking to another staff, not trying to help anyone, absolutely do not go to this hospital for any medical emergency!David Brake Still in the waiting room 5 hrs later, let my husband was was screaming and writhing in pain just sit in a wheelchair till he eventually passed out from exhaustion.
