Before you go to Ochsner, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Marrero emergency room think.
Jeremy Rasler⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMost all the staff were absolutely fantastic! Dr. Foster DO, Tiny NP, Ernest RN, Clarice RN, and Jessica RN were all Wonderful! My friend brought me to the ER because I was having Chest Pain, they brought me straight back to a room and started working me up. I was given medications, labs, and transferred to Ochsner Main Campus for cardiac admission. I highly recommend this facility for quick ER care! However if you need to be admitted you will be transferred to one of the Ochsner Hospitals. My only complaint was that the triage nurse was very rude!Fe’Dricka Moore⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Although this was my first visit, I was overall please with the service rendered to me. The medical staff was very friendly and emphatic. I did, however, feel the service was slow considering there weren’t many people there. Despite that, I plan to come back when needed.Jennie Newby⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFantastic service! The nurse Clarice was so helpful and kind. Everyone took such good care of my daughter. I’m very gratefulPrecious NelsonI visited this ER on a Sunday because I was congested and couldn’t stop coughing. I was so congested they they they couldn’t hear air passing through my lungs. They gave me a breathing treatment and sent me home with 6 prescriptions. I wanted a doctor’s note to stay home the next day on Monday and rest and try to get better. Just 1 day but Dr. Dywanda Lewis wouldn’t give me one even though the papers you get when you get discharged stated that I should stay home and rest for 2-3 days for my condition which was a viral upper respiratory illness. Mind you, I don’t work on weekends. All I wanted was 1 day. This is the 2nd time this doctor was incompetent to me. I took my daughter there once and even admitted to not reading her chart right and she did apologize but that shouldn’t have happened in the 1st place. Clearly Ochsner needs to look into hiring better doctors at this location. I would give 0 stars but it won’t let me..Indiana Hatcher⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Lovely.. The staff was really nice And generous.. And Kathy And Doctor Foster was Awesome! HunterPersonally I would avoid this ER at all costs, drive to west Jeff, or West Bank. But avoid this free standing ER at all costs. Dr Lewis is probably one of the rudest doctors I’ve had the displeasure of meeting. It’s a lose lose, ive seen her fuss at patients for not having a “serious” enough reason, but yet fuss at other patients for not going to a more appropriate ER? Like you can’t win with this person, Ochsner why are you allowing your doctors to act this way? There’s so much competition this is disgraceful!Alicia Hebert⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went to Ochsner ER as the last storm Barry caused uncertainty. Still, I received excellent care and a warm reception by security and intake. After thorough evaluations and testing, I was admitted. Thanks to blood and xray technicians, doctors, nurses and assistance were very professional and patient!! Love and blessing to this great staff!!George Patterson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThese wonderful people are professional and fast from start to finish. The check in staff, nurses, doctors and assistants were extremely pleasant and professional. I couldn’t even tell you how fast I was in and out, and that is with having surgery that I didn’t expect to happen so quickly. I don’t ever wish to have a reason to go to the emergency room, but if I do have to, and I have a choice, this would be the one.Melissa Lawrence⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat service. Chris is the best shot giver EVERFlor CorazonI went into this place with a really bad headache, nausea & dizziness hoping to receive good care services, and even though it is understood that it is an er, you also hope that a fair fast service be possible. There were already around 15 people sitting in the lobby waiting when I was checked in, and sat down to wait…..it was 8:30pm, & not even 5 minutes after I was called, and a nurse took my health info and asked my reason of being there, gave me a urine cup and sent me back to waiting room…11pm hit and by then I was like omg what’s going on because almost all have going in, but I noticed that some people walked in to check in, and were immediately called in, so even in much pain I told myself, wait, wait, by 12:30am I was the only one in the lobby and a man walked in, checked in, and was called in, so by this time I had enough and got up and went to the check in window and asked the lady who had checked me in what’s going on why all people have been seen except me, so she kindly checked computer and asked me if I was discharged and I told her nooo. I haven’t been called or seen at all, so the head nurse I believe it was came there and told me someone and herself called me 3 times and noone answered and I was blowed by what this lady told me because I was sitting in the very front row of chairs from time I arrived @ 8:30pm, and I heard and watched every single patient’s name that was called in and I knew for a FACT I WAS NOT CALLED AT ALL, so they had to readmit me, cut my hand bracelet and printed a new one, etc, etc.. and it was a terrible situation to the point that my head felt like it was going to explode from the pain hearing this people excusing themselves and all, but not once she said sorry for the inconvenience they caused to me. 15 to 20 minutes later , I was called in finally, and I was put in a room for another 15 minutes or so but by then, I could not trust it anymore, and decided to just open the door and rolled the curtains open to make sure they see I was in there, right away the same nurse who told me they had called me 3 times came in with an unkindly attitude asking me if there was a problem, and I told her I was just making sure they didn’t leave me in that room for hours waiting like they just did in the lobby and she told me very unkindly that NOW “they got me on the board and they can see I’m here”,… whatever that meant, so I told her I’m not here now, I been here in the lobby checked in since 8:30pm, so she continued to say that I was called in 3 times and once of those 3 times, she had called herself, and she even asked me if I had felt asleep, and I told her negative, I couldn’t never have fallen sleep with such pain I had and worry, not to mention the discomfort sitting on their lobby chairs in front row listening to those automatic loud doors open and close each time a person went in, and came back out just waiting to hear my name which was NEVER CALLED, but again, no apology from her or noone else. The doctor came in 15 to 20 minutes after, took him 5 minutes to check me, here I was after 1am, and I could not wait to get out of that place. I dont think that with an experience like this, you’ll be wanting to return to this place.Mia Danos⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedChris is a great nurse and puts in IV’s so easily!!!Nova Queen⭐️⭐️Does not really seem like they care about their job or what they do. They treat you as if your emergency is irrelevant and trivial, then you have to wait a long time just for the doctor to enter quickly, complain about you coming, then prescribe you some extremely expensive medicine. Wish they valued their work betterBrheaThe doctor was nice, but the rest of the staff were terrible and not helpful. Went there because of a bad cough from a lingering cold. The doctor stated she would prescribe a cough syrup and nasal spray. I was given a paper that listed the prescriptions, but the cough syrup was missing from the list. Before I left, I showed the staff member the paperwork and explained to her that the cough syrup was not listed. I asked if I would still be able to get the cough syrup despite it not being written anywhere. The staff member said that the cough syrup would still be sent to the pharmacy, despite it not being listed on any paperwork. I went to the pharmacy and was told that there was no record of either prescription being sent. I called Ochsner to see if the doctor could send the prescription again, and instead talked to a nurse who said she could not send the prescription because there was no evidence it was supposed to be sent. She said she could send the nasal spray, but not the cough syrup (which is what I went there for because of the bad cough). Though I liked the doctor, the nurse and other staff had bad attitudes and made no real effort to help me. I would’ve been better off going to an actual emergency room and have no plans to return to this Ochsner location again.LaToya WilliamsThe staff here moves with no sense of urgency I would rather drive across town to children’s hospital.Irielle⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI cant name not 1 thing I disliked about this hospital. Fast service and sincerely cared about getting me well. Thank you Christine Ronda , Chad and dr fosterAmanda JamesHorrible doctors don’t care neither nurses they treat like your lying neither do they take you seriouslyShell Brown⭐️⭐️⭐️The check in staff was courteous, but the fat security guard was rude and too busy guarding his phone rather than the surroundings.Joel J⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had to use these services for three of my family in the past 2 weeks and can say that the service was as good as could be expected and hoped for. All diagnosis and treatment were good and the care taken with patients and accompanying family members was appreciated. Having had limited experience with other emergency rooms, I can say that this facility is a great addition to the community and far more efficient than going to a hospital for many situations. In two of my visits to this place there were transfers to the hospital for additional treatment and the other was outpatient diagnosis and release. Bottom line is I hope this place continues its excellent service and does not get overwhelmed as emergency rooms can.Lanovis Taylor⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOctober 11, 2018 12:00am My blood pressure was really high. The entire staff was really quick, nice and professional. Thank you all for your services.Madelin HebertALWAYS an EXTREMELY long wait! This place is obviously understaffed! Brought my daughter here and I left. She was suffering with a stomach virus and she was so miserable waiting that we left. Horrible service!!Kali ShillingI will never come here again this place is a jokeBrandy NoelThe worst hospital I’ve ever been to, the “doctor” and the nurses didn’t help any! I went for pain in my chest when I breath, as if my lungs were hurting after having a horrible cough for weeks! They didn’t check for anything just wrote my symptoms down on paper and took my temperature and prescribed me nasal drop medicine I didn’t even need. NOT ONCE LISTEN TO MY CHEST! I hope it’s not something that can get worst..Then everyone was sleep besides the guard and that’s exactly how they made me feel, as if I was interrupting their sleep and they needed me in and out! A true waste of money, everyone here is horrible.Danielle Hebert⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe wait time said 0 minutes and when I arrived I was called to the back (triage) before I could even sit down. I had problems breathing (a first for me) and was kind of scared. My doctors name was Dr. Everett (I think) and my nurse was Rachel. Both were awesome. They showed genuine concern and did a couple of test to rule out the flu or pneumonia. Turns out it was an upper respiratory infection… I do get that annually it seems but not this bad. They gave me good follow up advice too. Overall the staff was friendly, there was only one female there who seemed bothered by her job but thankfully she wasn’t my nurse. Since they did bloodwork, a chest scan, and 2 breathing treatments it was a few hours before I could leave but I’m glad my bf made me go. I am looking for a PCP and will inquire about Dr. Everett.Roy CalanteMy daughter was brought in for seizure like symptoms. Various test procedures have been done at the Jefferson Campus within the last 2 months. The reason for going to the OCHSNER EMERGENCY ROOM was to have medical personnel look at her history. She was in 1 week ago at the Jefferson Campus. It seems to me that the Rude nurse that treated her was more concerned in drawing blood than providing her comfort. We were there from 11pm to 5:30 am , with nothing being done. They had her connected to the oximeter and monitor. She had just had blood test and many other test performed one week ago. I surmised that going to an OCHSNER facility, all her records would be available. Boy was I sadly mistaken!!!! I am not one to complain, but in 5 minutes of being their, I felt the negative vibe from the nurse that tended to my daughter. It’s an indifference that cannot be explained but only felt. Without telling anything to my wife, she expressed her concerns about the very same person. Ochsner is failing in the type of employees being hired at this location, as well as the customer service training, or the lack thereof. I have several physician friends at the main campus, that will hear about our experience. Bad decision on my part to bring my daughter to the Ochsner Emergency Room Marrero!!!!!!!! I’m sure that this was not what Dr Alton Ochsner had in mind, for patient care. Perhaps, these employees should spend some time in the main campus, where everyone we have encountered is a delight in mannerisms and kindness…..Shekia Gaddis⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedTo be hours away from home and feeling awful and in extreme pain, I couldn’t have asked for better care. My complete visit was about 2 hours and the staff was so friendly and pleasant. I was nervous and unsure of what to expect being that I was away from home, but I was immediately comforted and taken great care of. The staff went above and beyond and even educated me on next steps. The whole process was simple and seamless and I’m so grateful. Thank you so much for caring for me and getting me in and out and back to my family.diamonique merricksSign in went fast , got called in the back to find out that no rooms were available. Had to come back in the waiting room where i waited another 30 minutes . Finally get called to the back where i had to wait 3 hrs for x-rays ! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE THE LADY AT THE DESK WAS VERY NICE , THEY WILL HELP THE DYING DIENancy Dufrene⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI recently brought my daughter to Ochsner ER Marrero and the care that she recieved could not have been better. When we arrived, she was quickly brought to a room. Her symptoms and complaints were taken very seriously. The staff was very caring and compassionate and made us feel very welcome. She was promptly treated, and the Doctor was very kind and informative. My daughter is typically afraid to go to the doctor, but she said that she had a good experience. I would recommend this place to anyone. It is absolutely top notch.Athen matherneThe place was dead and still had to wait 2 hours.demi dantin⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCame into ER because I was not feeling well. The staff from the front desk was very welcoming and helpfup with insurance information. The nurses and techs there were very friendly and helped take care of me very well. The doctor was very competent, kind and caring. The wait was very much worth the service I was provided.Glenn Robin4 hours and they still have not had the Cray read. Never againJ D⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI came here on Christmas Eve with the worst flu I’ve ever had. They weren’t terribly busy but they took me in for a test immediately with the results not far behind. The receptionist said an hour and a half in and out and she was right. Every one was polite and timely. Dr Ruth explained things to me well and in a way that I could understand in my decrepit state and she was easy going. She’s the kind of doctor you would want as your regular GP. Taking into account the holidays and the flu epidemic all I can say is positive things about this staff. Even the security guard waved as I left and thanked me. I’m not sure you could ask for much better service so it’s the least I can do in writing this up for them.wakingdream07Went in with abdominal & back pain. They ran bloodwork, gave me a bunch of reflux medications, and when those didn’t work just gave me more of the same medicine. Then they sent me home, still in pain, with no more idea why than when I went in. Waste of 3 hours and $100 copay. I ended up being admitted at a different hospital that evening for 2 days and needing emergency surgery. Literally could have died if I had listened to the doctors here.Sara PateI have been here for 5 HOURS and I have yet to see a dr…. in severe pain and severe nausea and they will not help…. I’ve been in this room with no one to walk in to even check on me for over 2 hours…. no nurse button and hooked to an iv so I can’t even go find help…. I am extremely disappointed after moving here 2 weeks ago, I was thinking I would have great heath care with oshners but boy was I wrong!!!jordan metcalfeWorse place to bring a child. My 2 year old daughter was throwing a fit because she was not feeling good and very cranky and the staff acted like she was a bother. When she finally stopped crying the nurse made a very rude comment saying about time she stopped crying like she was a problem. Then the triage lady was also rude telling me that I should have done this and that. This is my first child and what she had was apparently very common but I have never heard or had anything like that before. Then the doctor came in and checked her out and said she had it and never explained what or why she had it. I had no clue what was going on the whole time all he did was gave me a perscription that I didn’t even know what it was. Then the nurse that was with him gave me her papers and I asked for a school note and if she has to stay out of daycare for awhile if it was contagious and she couldn’t even tell me like it was a COMPLETE waste of timeLyndall Boyd⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIt’s an emergency room not urgent care, but they take good care of you. They don’t hold you unless necessary and get you in and out if possible. The staff is really nice!Skyy Asian FlemingsThe wait time for them online be a lie you be longer than the wait time .and it be empty with no patients so I wonder what the staff be doing at night never againLusciouzz Gemiinii69I was there for over 3 hours last night in uncomfortable pain and received no type of medication. No one even spoke to me between the time the nurse came to get me and when the doctor came. The guy nurse decided he wanted to give me medical advice(ummm FYI you don’t tell someone who is freezing that maybe you should take some layers of clothing off to help) he could use some help with his bedside manner. It took longer for me to get signed in than it did after she initially saw me, next thing you knew I’m getting released?!!!!??!! Wth?? I’m just curious as to why there is a new location and you’re up to being slackers??? Like dirty, nasty sheets?? I was walked to a room and was left there to fend everything for myself…not the doctor will be with you or do you need a blanket, just horrible nursing staff!!! It was my favorite hospital and now I’m not so sure. Do better or you WILL lose patients. I see a lot of great reviews, so I’m wondering what exactly was the issue last night?? My care shouldn’t be contingent upon anything, but doing a superb job. I am HIGHLY disappointed in Ochsner Hospital. Oh and btw the only delightful people were the check in lady and my doctor.Lazander VancourtHorrible place. The 1st time my daughter was given a penicillin shot for the wrong thing. 2nd visit, they called us in the back and didn’t have a room available. Everyone was seen in the hallway. I heard what 2 patients were diagnosed with and the medicine they had to take, as well as the 1st day of some lady last period. All of these personal questions got asked in front of everyone. NO PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY AT ALL. When the doctor came to speak with us after my daughtet’s X-Ray, he looked for us by asking the nurse, “Where is the ankle girl?” Um, that’s not her name.He _lovestootiethe staff is so busy talk are wait time be so long just to give simple stuffCatherine NashMy Aunt Judy recently went this new ER. She was evaluated. Symptoms were nausea, vomiting and presence of new hernia which really scared her . She went home after thheir eval and treatment. She began having continuous nausea and vomiting. She went to West Jefferson ER. CT scan, lab work, etc. was completed. She was rushed to surgery. Please check your patients more carefully. She spent a little time in ICU, still has terrible drainage, much pain. Might need another surgery!!Leslie LorenzoTook my daughter there for a really bad cough, after calling and talking to the staff, because there was no where else open that could get her in. We were there for 2 hours most of the time just waiting, the actual exam was only 10 min to find out she had a double ear infection and sinus infection and needed antibiotics. Then it was another 30 min to be discharged before we actually just went to walk out and they stopped us and that’s how we got our paper work, and got signed out, but with a 4 yr old complaining that her stomach hurts and that she is finally hungry, and saying that for 20 mins I’m not just going to keep asking to leave. Not in a rush to get you in or out at all.ang brocatoWorst experience every…I never write reviews but I’m so upset! Went in with my 4 month old that had been crying for about 6 hours on and off told me it would about an hour wait waited 2 hours and started people that got there after me! Told me that my son wasn’t a priority and that they would see people in order needed! Would never recommend this place to anyone!TheGirls Mommyarrived at 2PM left at 5PM service was horrible need to be shut down just for a simple X-ray smhErin MayeauxStaff was horrible. Waited 1 hour to get to the back just to do a swab and then 3 hours to get into the back then almost another 2 hours just to get someone in my room. I couldn’t even stand staying there any longer.ART WITHOUT FEARHorrific experience. I’ll never come here againTyeisha PeriqueWaited in the back for 2hours before seeing the doctor all they do is sit around.Louis CarolPlan on staying half the day and all night to be taken care of.Ashley Billiot⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedProfessional, competent, compassionate, and fast.Random UserHORRIBLE!
