Before you go to OSF Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Bloomington emergency room think.
Shane Smith⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went into the emergency room late at night and was helped immediately. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was clear that they all genuinely cared about my health. I have so much respect for the whole staff there. Thank you guys so much.Jamie FurmanGo anywhere else but here. This used to be the best place to go, now, it is better if you can treat yourself. Nothing happens in less than 6 hours and nobody will tell you anything. DO NOT COME HERE!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!Jackie 371⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Do your review that you get in your email. They can make positive changes as necessary from that, like name names, too. They have to know who it is that is the problem to correct it. Most of the time, over the last 25 years, they have been really great at St. Jo–with my whole family. My experience the other day was really good, especially because of Nurse Travis. He’s awesome! My doctor was very caring, as was the lady at the front desk, & the triage nurse. My Gma worked there from the 1960s till 1996 & she was a wonderful nurse. About a year ago, they hired some new doctors. One was rude & pretty much ignored what I was saying, then just haphazardly prescribed some medication. I voiced my concerns & asked if I could have a different medication, but he ignored me, so I decided not to take that medication & consulted with the pharmacist. Even the medical records lady that came to my room said that a lot of people complained about that particular doctor. He was from Chicago. At first, I thought that was a good idea because of the 1000’s of people that have moved down here from Chicago since 2002…maybe he’d be able to relate better & help them better. However, he was not helpful for me at all. I was upset that he was actually getting paid for ignoring my concerns. I wonder if a lot of these bad reviews are from some of those new hires last year. I think they must normally have hired locals before that or they changed something in the hiring process because that was the first time I’d ever had a bad experience there. It’s clear they need to fire some doctors.Allison MilnerWent in for 10/10 pain in the head, waited 6 hours 10-4am for 3 doctors to ask the same thing with the official last one saying “concussions aren’t able to be tested for- take Ibuprofen, and here’s a prescription for dizzy medicine. If you can’t afford this ask for something less expensive” It ended up being written as “x” medicine only The prescribed medicine was not only refused by insurance but was a medicine to help dizziness that causes dizziness…… why. They took unnessisary bloodwork and urine. Without giving results or reason to why and still charged fully, and the prescribed medicine sigh. They did apologize for the wait, but weren’t surprised saying it usually is 8 hr wait. We originally came here because we saw that bromen did not have an MRI scan which we thought she would need having a head injury. However I regret not going over to the place we originally like anyways since she kept falling and hitting her head and needs to go back again for tests elsewhere. The other offices were horrified they just let her leave.Mary O⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI gave birth here by the recommendation of my ob versus going to the other hospital, as she thought this staff is more professional and better. The whole experience was AMAZING. The maturity ward is much nicer than what the video shows on their website, the rooms have all been updated and there is a nice spacious couch turned bed for your support person to sleep with plenty of storage and a beautiful HUGE window. The staff was so amazing I am so thankful for everything they did for me. They were wonderful people, truly wish I would’ve brought goodie bag to gift them with as I love them so much.Dan ObergFamily member with severe pain went here. Took 6 hours to see physician and 7 hours before any treatment.Chelsey Davis⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHelped me greatly, considering the wait and the intensity of my anxiety. Long wait, but that happens at every ERA DDO NOT GO!!! IF YOU NEED CARE, GO TO BROMENN!! IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE! I was there a year ago from pneumonia that turned septic, went into septic shock, kidney failure and had a heart attack. Diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I went to have some records pulled and upon reading them, found that there were things that were made up and completely inaccurate. They said I was a cocaine user. Later in the records they changed it to I.V. cocaine user. Pulled up the mandatory drug screen and it was negative for drugs. I go to the medical records to excersise my hippa rights to not have my records shared with any outside entity til they correct the reports and they told me no. I’ve had issues with the whole hospital lying blatantly and don’t know why they do it. My cardiologist was an obvious drug abuser, and never returned any messages or filled medication he prescribed until weeks after they were due. He also scheduled a follow-up appointment for a time he knew in advance that he was no longer going to be there. I quit all osf contact before this luckily and went to Bromenn for proper medical care and luckily got in with a legit cardiologist. Had I waited for my osf cardiologist appointment when he knew he wouldn’t even be there for, I was told I would have to wait 6 months. This is a violation of my rights as a patient to decide who sees my records, not them which they are currently trying to bully me into believing. This place is self regulated and needs to be shut down. Even the employees on the low end of the spectrum said they had internal issues with professional doctors lying or mishandling information. IF YOU EVER NEED MEDICAL CARE GO TO BROMENN!! COULD VERY WELL SAVE YOUR LIFE. I can’t believe they are allowed to be involved in health careLinda SaffelTook my daughter here never again. I don’t give then 1 star. If you are sick and need emergency attention do not go to st Joseph HospitalAlethia Grace⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had an excellent experience in their Emergency Department! I was treated right away and provided with excellent care.Susan thomasThis place of horrors should be shut down. We need medical staff who are in this profession for the right reasons. Dr. Vandakuri has the personality of a wet blanket and a brain of a rat. The doctors are all a bunch of quacks. The nurses keep the place afloat. So many examples of neglect in the 1 week my friend was there, it’s appalling.Daniel Welch⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWas admitted on Christmas day and spent overnight there. Every staff member there was wonderful and very supportive. For a bad day they made me feel better about my situation.karen ringI waited over 7 hours to be called to the back with terrible breathing issues. I was given 1 breathing treatment in all that time. Finally after all those hours of struggling to breathe I was called back only to wait a couple more hours. In that time I was hooked up to standard equipment but still hadn’t received another breathing treatment that I had been promised while I waited outside and finally in the back but still had nothing. Very unprofessional staff came in to say hi but not until the doctor showed up did anything happen. Well finally admitted for Strep pneumonia in both lungs spent a week in the hospital, now that’s how sick I was but those girls at the desk made sure everyone was seen before me including everyone that walked in after. The emergency doctor was great and so was my doctor in the hospital but had it not been for my daughter working there I would have never had clean gowns or bedding. Place has went drastically down hill as well as some of their PCP. I’m trying to find a new one at this time! Never would I recommend a pain doctor or a primary out on Ft. Jesse.Chrys McK-C⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAlways a good exlerience. Polite staff and eager to serveDonnie Kirk⭐️⭐️Slowest er I have ever been in….been sitting here for 3 1/2 hours and all haven’t been seenMelissa Jordan⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThey take great care of their patients!Queen PeachMy child is a minor with a disability. Long story short I took him into the emergency room and they asked if they could speak to my child alone and I said yes. These poorly trained staff members called DCFS on me and made a report saying that I had no food in my home when my son actually only said that he dodnt eat this morning. Even after I explained what my son actually said. I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE THESE PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS even dcfs said they were very unprofessional.Naomi MorrisHospital lies to me my dr promised to put me on meds to help me get pregnant never said anything about having to sign fertility contract and said I would only have to start the fertility stuff If the meds he was giving me didn’t work and then his office told me that I wasn’t welcome there unless I had another 500 to pay them upfront for the appointment even though I have been waiting 8yrs to try and get pregnant and I just payed them 3000. I told them that they lied the doc never said anything about that and he was supposed to send my RX to the pharmacy, his office manager got on the phone and told me that I was being hostile for asking so many questions and that she is canceling my appointment and I am not welcome there anymore. I’m sorry but this place is horrible they get ur Hope’s up so they can take ur money and then tell u not to come back…even if u have more moneyRyan HuangMy experiences, like many reviews elsewhere seem to indicate these people can hardly call themselves medical professionals. Also I want to WARN everyone that as of 1/1/2018 they are no longer in-network with BCBS of IL which means if you have the State Farm insurance, OSF is now considered “out of network”. Of course, these crooks don’t tell you this. I found this out the hard way. My first experience was when my wife was sick. The ER sent her back twice saying nothing wrong with her, but her pain level increased significantly over 2 days and I returned with her. They adamantly refused to do an MRI on her due to her pregnancy. We finally got in contact with our own OBG and she was shocked this hospital wouldn’t do any MRI on her. MRI, unlike CT scans, have little or no radiation and is perfectly safe for the fetus. How can those people not even know that? Yet, it didn’t stop them from injecting large amount of morphing in her as if that doesn’t hurt the baby even just a little? My OBG came back and immediately authorized an MRI and they found she has bacterial pneumonia which can be dangerous both for the mother and child. We just thank God that our OBG came back in time. Honestly if anything happened we’d sue this place for malpractice. And worst of all, that didn’t stop them for sending us a $3000 bill AFTER insurance payments. Second time I fell and injured my forehead. Was there for about 2 hours and the doctor gave me some skin glue, most of time spent there waiting. The hospital sent me a bill for $1300 on top of a bill from the CT scan and the physician bill and the $200 copay. Seriously — these people should be ashamed of themselves. The treatment was less than 5 min. Most of the time there I was waiting. If they needed the bed I wouldn’t have a problem waiting outside, but it’s their choice to let me stay in the room. I called and said even NYC isn’t that expensive and they said they don’t negotiate and argued vehemently that I must pay thousands for just a few min of skin glue. Those greedy people needs to go out of business. In fact, a friend of mine said one of the OSF executive lives close to him and this executive flies on private jets, lives in a 2+ million dollar home and that he “pulled some strings” so that his kids can work in high level positions at OSF without doing much. This level of corruption is WHY the prices are so high, to the point they’d have to drop Blue Cross Blue Shield. So be warned, when you choose to go to OSF, you are paying for their management’s luxurious life style; and yet, they call themselves “non-profit”. I am so glad I moved and won’t have to deal with those crooks.Missy SammonsWe went there after a truck accident. The ER doctor was unfriendly and rude. After getting home and seeing our own family doctor, we requested records to be transferred over and a week later, our FP still haven’t received the records. I would not send my worst enemy to this hospital. Stay away from this place!Vader vv⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFrom the moment we we got here ( after switching last minute from Bromenn) the staff made us feel important. We had not been to this hospital yet for labor and delivery, and due to a lot of horrible expeiences at bromenn, we switched hospitals for induction. And we are so glad we did… every staff member makes you feel welcome, they dont make you feel dumb cause your new at this, and they listen to whats going on, and go out of thier way to make sure you get an answer. Thank you so much to all the nursea in the Birthing Center, and Thank you so much to all the staff members at St. Joseph’s!!!!! (10 out of 5 stars if possible)DeAnna CraigSo far been here over three hours and still haven’t seen a doctor. No one seems to know when he might show up. Nurse says things like, “he’ll be in shortly” but the word “shortly” carries no definition. Nowhere near what I would call a busy ER. If this guy can’t handle 20 patients, they should add a second doctor. Would rather have spent the time driving farther to find a better hospital. We won’t be back.Jaydin Bradybeen waiting in prompt care for 2 hours now, only having my vitals checked and sent back out into the waiting room. this is utterly ridiculous and i am missing classes to sit in a doctors office that is clearly in zero hurry. making me feel unimportant, here.Jane Doe⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent service!Hope ChubbWe’ve been waiting for hours to see an ER doctor. We were told that we may or may not have been called back when we were in ultrasound.Krysha Hurt⭐️⭐️Terrible staff! They don’t care for their patients one bit! If it weren’t for visitors they’d leave my dad for dead!skl laneSuper unfriendly place
