Before you go to Oviedo Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Oviedo emergency room think.
Stan Moore⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedSorry, this took a week. The whole staff are very friendly, an d professional. The hospital is coming along nicely, for only being 3 yrs., old. The food was outstanding, an d always hot. Now to see how nice these specialists are. Great hospital, would recommend them to anyone. ThanksMichael Family⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy mom stayed for 4 days. We received great care from friendly, caring staff. We will definitely be back. The cafeteria is delicious, my mom ate all of her hospital food and said she liked it. Doctors were responsive and staff was attentive and kind. Once we got past the first night which was tougher than the rest, but that’s because they didn’t know she was in pain because she didn’t say until 4 am…once told doctors called in pain meds and all was great from there.Lyndsey Fain-Rhodes⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThere was no wait, the staff was incredibly kind and empathetic. I’ve been to the ER maybe 6 times in my life and this was the best experience by far. Thank you to the wonderful staff and to Dr Hamilton.Brandon Taylor⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’m not sure why I waited this long to leave a review but at least I’m doing it 🙂 I gave birth to my daughter here and everyone needs to know how amazing the doctors and nurses are here , I was constantly checked on and definitely enjoyed there snow cone machine ,I was induced and probably felt about 1 hour of labor pains and was given an epidural , they give you and your partner a dinner after you give birth the next day and honestly was shocked it was pretty good ! my mom was so shocked how amazing it went for me, that was the best birthing experience and I’ve never forgot it and recommend this hospital to everyone . They actually care about the patients !Kristin OlsenI was misdiagnosed with a “headache” in this ER following a CT scan of my head, which was run due to one sided sinus pain and drooping of my eye. I was sent home with a pain medication alone. I asked the PA that I saw whether I had a sinus infection and she pointedly said “no, the CT scan would have shown that.” I worsened over two day’s at home and my eye could barely open. I returned two day’s later for re-evaluation and saw a different PA. He listened to my clinical signs, and told me I had a sinus infection. He then went and pulled the radiology report from my CT scan two days before which clearly stated that I had a significant sinus infection. He prescribed me an antibiotic and a steroid based on the information that was present on the prior CT scan. My signs improved following this. This generated a second ER visit for me, and a second $300 bill. I contacted the hospital and asked for the second bill to be waved given that the sinus infection should have been diagnosed on the first visit based on the info from the CT scan. They have not waved the second visit bill despite the PA’s failure to recognize a sinus infection on the CT scan. I understand that mistakes happen, however it seems reasonable that they would work with me considering there was a mistake, and their mistake generated a second $300 bill for me. I would be careful using this ER.Alexandra OrrHave been to this ER multiple times with different symptoms. Because of my age and gender no one took me seriously with what I was saying. One doctor told me my visual snow would go away in a few days: two years later I still have it and no one knows why. Another doctor a year later told me my chest pain was in my head. Then he took an EKG and said actually it’s not normal. He took my blood to check for a heart attack which I wasn’t having, but my EKG was still abnormal and he never listened to my heart. He told me I was fine and just anxious. Now, one year later a nurse at a minute clinic listened and said without a doubt I have a heart murmur. Thank you Oviedo Medical for stimulating and provoking my health anxiety. These doctors need to be re-evaluated and take patients seriously when they say something is wrong with them.Pat StanforthYes, everyone was nice and the wait was short. But, I’m there for medical treatment. I had 2 small bones broken in my hand. I was treated and charged and told to leave and IMMEDIATELY go find an orthopedic doctor. I saw that doctor the following day through another health care system. He and his team could NOT re-use the x-rays. He removed the cast as it was too tight and the area was swelling and could have hurt my range of motion. His cost was 1/2 the price and the treatment was 100% better. So, if you need an orthopedic doctor DO NOT go here as there isn’t one on staff. I don’t recommend them for anything other than stitches because I doubt that there are any specialists on staff.Yaquelin boys⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI would like thanks doctor Harold Neyra for saving my live God Bless you and your family. I also would like to thanks the nurses that they were always there to help me. This has been the best hospital I ever been.Tony Recanati⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI cannot say enough about this facility. At 6:30am, everyone was friendly and cordial from the time I entered the building. I immediately noticed the cleanliness of this facility. When the nurses (Gina and team) were prepping me for surgery they made me feel relaxed and comfortable. Dr. Neyra was right on time and answered all of our questions. When I was brought upstairs to spend the night, each and every staff member welcomed me and made me feel comfortable. I would like to send out special thanks to Isis, Edwin, Eva and Shelley for their caring and professionalism. I almost want to have another surgery just to see if I caught them all on a great day or are they really this good! Strongly recommend the Oviedo Medical CenterSteven Vaughn⭐️⭐️Stars are for Alyssa in billing dept. she was very helpful. Just don’t come here unless it’s really an emergency. Getting billed 900$ for two stitches is kinda insane plus whatever insurance covers.Kaylee Platt⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe delivered our baby there and had the most wonderful experience. The staff and especially the nurses were awesome to work with. They were knowledgeable, friendly and so helpful. When delivering they were there every step of the way helping push through the pain. And after the baby came they were so helpful offering to take him for a night so a could sleep. But bringing him in so I could nurse. The facility it’s self was very nice, spacious and clean. The room was bigger than any other labor and delivery room we’ve seen. After delivery you didn’t have to switch rooms which made the stay even less stressful. They also do a wonderful celebration dinner for you and one other person. At other hospitals there was a large expense fr this kind of service, and here it is included in your stay. If you are looking for a hospital to deliver at I would highly recommend!!Trevor JonesChecked my vitals… Made sure I wasn’t in immediate danger. Completely dismissed my concerns and told me to see my normal doctor. Absolutely no effort to tell my anything besides I wasn’t going to die.A little bit of everything with Helen⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI took my mother to their emergency room and she was transferred to their medical center. My mother was under their care until today (Thursday). I must say, that it was a very pleasant experience, under the circumstances. Dr. Chatfield is such a knowledgeable and experienced medical professional. He took the time, every single day, to give us an update on my mother’s health, etc. The nurses, aides and nurse lead are amazing and caring. The food was so good and was always served hot. They have so many great options! If I am ever in need to visit a hospital, The new Oviedo Medical Center will be my first choice.Kendall Englert⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat experience! All the nurses and physicians in labor and delivery were amazing! If you’re having a baby, this is the place to do it!Bryant Hamilton⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI can only say that I’ve been in more emergency rooms across this country than anyone would want to. I have never experienced such an efficient, skilled and enjoyable team as I did here tonight. If you have to go to an emergency room and you want to feel like someone actually cares and knows what they are doing…go here. Many thanks to the team working at 7pm on Friday, October 18th. BryantMatt PlumAs an RN this facility is a joke. I wish google didn’t make me give it at least 1 star because it doesn’t deserve it. My mom was brought here for stoke symptoms as it was the closest facility. She was only seen by an emergency room PA for the first 9hrs of her stay! They were not busy as the place was a ghost town. Once transferred to a floor after 4hrs we had to fight for answers on when her MRI would be done and when the doctor would be in. Staff lied to us that they called the doctor to come see my mom (they never called!) and that the MRI would be done today which then turned into tomorrow because the tech left at 4pm even though the order was in before that. After having to demand a doctor to come and see her I left for the night after he showed up only to get a call early morning that they don’t have a tech to do an MRI today. That was the last straw as it’s critical to get it done in a timely manner. My mother had no choice but to sign AMA and be driven to another hospital in order to receive timely care. I honestly don’t understand how this place is in business. They are not staffed adequately or show any urgency. PLEASE anyone reading this. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT go to this facility or let anyone bring you here. There are far to many local hospitals in the area that provide exceptional care. Let’s all say a prayer the new ER in the area shuts this place down.Kimberly Stafford⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have been here twice in a 3 day period and both times I was met at the door by the concierge, she helped me with my registration (which was easy and quick) then personally walked me to where I needed to go. The technicians were all very pleasant and kind… gentle in all the procedures and talked me through everything. I would recommend Oviedo Medical to anyone needing treatment.Cesar Bradham⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis place has made a 100% about face. Our few latest experiences there from emergency to admission and release was absolutely professional. Thank heaven. Oviedo has a great hospital now.Robert RestitutoTook my wife there this weekend because she’s been dealing with extreme shoulder pain, she was in complete agony , crying , screaming at some points , I barely got her to the hospital. The good thing was there was no wait, but that’s where the good things ended. Get her back to the room while she’s pouring tears down her face in pain. Dr. looked at her and says she strained a muscle, told her to do some stretches and ice the affected area. I let her know we had been doing those things and none of them worked , hence the reason I’m here at an emergency room at 9am on a Saturday. They proceed to give her some medication for pain and something to calm her down, which neither of them worked. I was blown away by the lack of empathy, didn’t care one bit about how much pain she was in. The medication they gave prescribed was completely ineffective and I felt helpless as a husband to care for my stricken wife.Teresa Bailley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am thrilled to give Oviedo Medical Center a review. This was absolutely the best hospital visit I have ever had. I came in by ambulance. The doctors and nurses in the ER were very attentive and thorough. I was freezing cold and they gave me warm blankets. I ended up staying for 4days. I was moved to ICU from the emergency room. The nurses were awesome. After that they moved me to a regular room. They always answered my calls promptly. Every test they ran was done by great people. I could go on and on. Even the food was good and you could call them anytime. If you have to go to the hospital I would highly recommend this hospital.Vicki Passino⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI am 56 and have been to many different medical centers. I have never felt compassion and true heart from every staff member in a facility. I felt like my concerns were addressed. I never had to wait for a call response. Everyone treated me as though I was the most important person on the floor. I would recommend this facility over any and all facilities. Near and far. Thank you for the best experience I could have had for total knee replacement. Five starts to the entire staff. From the environmental staff to the cooks and landscapers.Andy GermMy Patient arrival time at 4:12 am this past Sunday morning, Luis at the registration was nice. All I heard from the other staff was excuses how they were busy. Almost Two hours later, a “Registration “ guy came in to gather my insurance information. It seems to me that they were more concerned about getting paid than my treatment. Understaffed to say the least! Inexcusable to keep me and other people waiting so long. Typical, ER / hospital indifference. Staff did not once check on me and keep me updated as to when I would get looked at even from an attending nurse, let alone a Doctor. After 2 hours and 15 minutes, I HAD TO INITIATE contact with a staff personnel to “ask if someone is going to look at me”. So, Very Disappointing! Unfortunately, I would NOT recommend the Oviedo ER to family and fellow friends / residents of Oviedo. Next time, we , me, or any family will go to Winter Park off of Lakemont Ave.Steven Cole⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent here yesterday for my wife. This hospital really impressed me. Not only clean and spacious rooms, the staff actually are very polite, caring and takes time out to answer your questions. Dr. Lex Auguste answered every question my wife had (and it was a lot) with a smile on his face and was very knowledgeable. Considering having our second baby at this hospital nowStephanie Couturier⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis was my first time going to an ER as a patient and I was incredibly nervous. Luckily the staff from start to finish were incredibly friendly and efficient. Check in was quick and I was placed in a room immediately. Of the half dozen people I spoke to that came in and out of my room, every one of them was caring and patient. Even though the ultimate cause of my reason for being there wasn’t determined (typical for ER’s since their job is to keep you alive, not necessarily diagnose you) they were able to send me home with peace of mind and some medications to ease the symptoms until my appointment with my specialist. While I hope I never have to go to an ER ever again, I’d feel comfortable going to the Oviedo Medical Center.Keto Kmichelle⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedDr Lex was an amazing OB. All of the nurses were so sweet and welcoming. Thank you Jamie, Rebecca, Carol, Jodie! If you’re looking for a place to give birth I highly recommend Oviedo. So many doctors lack empathy but doctor Lex did not.Gabrielle Jacinto⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThey were so sweet & caring towards my daughter. We were in & out. The security officer even walked me to my car.Stephen Schenck⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe Staff and personnel are the best. My daughter spent 5 days and the care and treatment were top notch and everyone was communicative and aware. You could not be at a better place for care then here.Christine Drawdy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff is friendly and service was quick. Went in with spider bite and they put me at ease. Affordable, too. I went uninsured and the cost was more ch lower than an urgent care clinic yet this is an actual hospital. Nice to know there is one nearby like this. S Pa⭐️⭐️Been here several times and usually have a good experience however today it was terrible. I was there due to my child being ill. The nurse Letitia bed side manner was despicable. She literally just walks into the room saying that she needs to stick a swab up my child’s nose. I expressed to her that I was unhappy with the way she presented herself about the swab. The doctor was nice but seemed rushed and the heavyset male nurse was just nonchalant and borderline rude. Overall today was less than desirable. Maybe OMC need to have a compassion or sensitivity training class for some of their nursing staff members.Jada Lingard⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Delivered my baby here Wednesday morning and it was one of the best experiences ever. So much better than Winnie Palmer. I didn’t have one bad nurse. And everyone checked on me and my baby constantly to see if everything was fine. Kari I think that’s the nurse name with the blonde hair. She was the best. These nurses deserve constant raises. This part of the hospital is the best. 4 stars because the regular part of the hospital sucks.Claudia Abalo⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI can’t say enough about the staff at Oviedo Medical Center, they are ALL truly AMAZING! From reception to exit, one is treated with the utmost care and respect. I was a patient there today with one of the worst hemiplegic migraines i’ve ever had and i received the best care i’ve ever gotten at a hospital; RN Eric was superb, he things 101 things for me and to me with so much care and kindness, the XRAY technician was very nice and caring as well, Dr. Melendez was very thorough and explained things in a manner I could understand while i was still in pain and the CT SCAN Radiologist was incredibly understanding and caring when i told him i’m claustrophobic. When one is sick, one wants to be treated with kindness, care, and respect, and that is what you get when you go to Oviedo Medical.Jelicia Malcolm⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had my first child here on 8th, February 2019 and my entire stay to departure was nothing short of amazing. My baby girl and I was well taken care of. The food was great, the nurses (Kam, Carry and Brenda) were very attentive and kind , my OBGYN (Dr. Spiers and Dr. Benitez) were exceptional in their job and also the office manager (Jeff) was very helpful and nice. You all made our experience a loving and memorable one.behnam behboodStupied doctor. Not only the couldn’t do anything for my mother after 5 hours, Prescribed pain medication that does not exist. Went back for a new presentation, he was gone. Another doctor would NOT make the wrong right. Pain and suffering for my mother. STUPIED DOCTORAngela Chavez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedLabor & delivery staff was AMAZING!! The entire staff made me feel very comfortable, I was always informed of what they were doing to my son after his birth the few times he had to be taken out of the room for blood work. Every single LD nurse that came into my room was extremely attentive, friendly, and compassionate. Absolutely loved everything about the 4 days we spent there.Stella RiversI don’t think I should give even a single star. Maybe for the person in the front and the security guard that where the only ones that were companionate human beings there. I will NEVER recommend this place. I came in because of a complication of gastritis. I also suffer from panic and anxiety. I didn’t come in for pain meds, anxiety meds nor for attention. I came in because I had problems breathing. The nurse was completely dismissive and very rude. Didn’t allow my roommates to come in the room until I said it. Raised her voice at me for panicking and said I was fine because my pulse was fine. After an two hours of listening them laugh outside and being told repeatedly that there’s nothing they can do, they discharged me. At least this time the doctor talked to me and gave me a referral. The other time another doctor just said three things and left. The lack of empathy is the reason people loose faith in the doctors and hospitals. They really need to work on that attitude towards people that come in sick, worried and scared.Jenelle Ferrer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had my midwife and a wonderful pregnancy setup to have a home birth. My backup hospital was Orlando Health (midwife’s preference) but I had no intention of going to the hospital to birth my baby. At 38 weeks, my water broke and I went into labor. After 36 hours, I had to be transferred to a hospital to complete the birthing process. I chose OMC because it was close proximity to my home and I had already visited the beautiful facility. I arrived on their busiest night and there was no room except in the triage. From the moment I walked in, I was taken care of and assisted. They moved me into one of their spacious rooms for birthing once it was available and that’s where I ended up giving birth to my baby girl. My doctor, Eileen Hernandez, and nurse Kari, were absolutely amazing! They listened to all my concerns and desires (delayed clamping, immediate skin-to-skin contact, no Vitamin K, among other things). They were so respectful and gave me the most perfect experience I could have hoped for, especially in a hospital setting, which felt more like a hotel. After my baby’s birth, they treated my husband and I to a congratulatory dinner to celebrate. It was so special. Food was delicious! Definitely not what you would expect from a hospital. Service was wonderful. After we were released, it didn’t stop there. We received follow-up calls to see how we were faring as new parents and if there was anything we needed or anything they could help with. We were blown away with the level of service and care, especially considering this was our first baby. I can’t say enough good things about our experience.Adriana⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was sent to the hospital because I had already been on antibiotics. Doctors did all sort of tests. Everyone was great. I did have to repeat myself a few times which was dreadful. But all in all a new hospital and working well!Vincent Alexander⭐️⭐️Never would I thought that I would create an account in order to leave a review. But here we go during a workout, my brother started feeling horrible and had consistent nausea and vomiting for the better part of an hour after and so I drove him to the ED in panic. I pulled up to the ER and I rushed in and asked for help getting him out of the car. A very helpful Security guard understood the situation and rushed to help; assisting with a wheelchair and letting me park while escorting my brother in. This is the only reason that I am leaving 2/5 stars instead of 1/5. I applaud the front desk security guard and regret the fact that I don’t know his name in order to give him the props he deserves. Unfortunately this was the only pleasant part of our short visit. My brother started having immediate chills and overall fatigue, in addition to the constant vomiting so I had to help with giving personal information. He was having a hard time remembering his name and date of birth. So I had to do the better part of some of the talking for admission. The charge nurse printed out a wrist band in order to put around my brothers wrist and my brother was so nauseous and in pain, he couldn’t understand what was going on and since he was having such chills, he had his arms inside his shirt. The charge nurse then started discussing how he had smelt marijuana, to which I had instantly denied and honestly astonished because it didn’t seem relevant in such an acute setting considering the state of my brother. But regardless, the charge nurse also started becoming aggravated because he said my brother was being non-compliant. Are you kidding me? Non-compliant?? He was in severe acute pain, emetic, nauseas, and freezing and he was non-compliant because he didn’t put a wrist band on?? It gets worse…. then we were assigned a room and a MA escorted us back to his assigned room. It should be noted that my brother was in a wheel chair hunched over in pain and borderline delirious and getting worse. Once we got to the entrance to the room, the MA started becoming inpatient because my brother didn’t have the immediate strength to get into the bed from the wheel chair. Also using the phrase ‘non-compliant’. I was infuriated and told the MA that he’s in pain and asked her the simple question of why would we go to the ED if we were non-compliant. We told the nurse just to cancel our visit because it became evident that the pain and suffering of a patient didn’t fit into the convenience of the front desk staff and that the visit would’ve clearly just gotten worse from there. So we left and drove all the way to Advent Health Winter Park, where my brother was throwing up and crying in the pain the whole time in the car but this was all better than having to deal with the staff at Oviedo Regional ED. The staff at Advent Health were very courteous, understanding and immediately rushed him into the room, assisted in getting him into the hospital bed. They started antiemetics and fluids immediately. It’s amazing how suddenly no marijuana was smelled. Having to go to the ED is never fun, but I would recommend going to Advent Health. The difference in care and treatment can’t be overstated.Melissa Thomas⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Most of the nurses and assistants were amazing. I would like to recognize Isis and Krystal who really got things moving for me with the doctors. Other nurses were very encouraging when seeing me walk to halls. I did have a few nurses that were abrupt and acted like it was a major chore to get me medications when needed. Room service was a bit aggressive about ordering. Multiple doctors saw me and I was not always clear as to why they were seeing me. I don’t feel it was explained well. Facilities were wonderful.Kirk Nicome⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI did an anterior hip replacement at Oviedo Medical Center with Dr. Mario John as my surgeon and I must admit I had a great experience, the staff is super warm and friendly and very supportive. The facility is really clean with spacious comfy rooms. It’s clear that Oviedo takes patient care seriously at every level.Misia⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAbsolutely an amazing experience. I gave birth to our first daughter at the Oviedo medical center. All the nurses and staff are so friendly and very knowledgeable. My husband and I were blown away by the hospitality and share our experience with everyone. I would highly recommend this hospital, more so especially for the newborn floor.Kim Buelich⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was concerned about going there for needed surgery after hearing the service was poor, facility over-expensive and reading bad reviews. I am pleased to say that I found everyone there to be diligent and attentive during my stay there. There was one nurse that wouldn’t listen to my needs and seemed to have her own agenda maybe due to a language barrier, but for the most part everyone was great!Linda Stiles⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe staff from the check in through the operating prep nurses through my room nurses were very kind and thorough. My husband and I particularly appreciated the timeliness of all activities. The hospital is very new and clean which is a real Plus. The attending physician was very kind and informative. I appreciate the respect they offered me.John Darabasz⭐️⭐️Go to Advent… Left my wife in a room with out any one coming in to see her for more then a day. Had to take her out and to Advent were she was there for a week, had five teams of doctors working with her. God bless Advent. Oviedo said they didn’t know what was wrong with her…. That was two times and never again will I go there.Jackie Araujo⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedJust left the labor and delivery unit. I was treated like royalty. Dr. Spiers and Dr. Benitez are amazing healthcare providers. They involve the pt in decision making, and explain reasoning behind every med and medical care given to pt. Claudia, Jody, Kim, Kierline, and Jamie were compassionate and patience nurses. Sarah CRNA kept me comfortable and informed during my c section. Katie RN and Dr. Dicristofaro took care of my baby while I was recovering from surgery. The lactation consultant Kristen gave me tips and helped me to get my baby latching. I am highly impressed with the care. It was an unforgettable experience 🙂 thank you ladies!Alecia Ackred⭐️⭐️⭐️The facilities are fairly new and clean, which is a plus considering most of the other hospitals in the area are older. The ER has a short wait time and you get treated very quickly. If you are admitted, the rooms are very spacious and private. Unfortunately, the care is not the best in my opinion. I’ve had to correct multiple doctors and nurses in regards to my care and treatment and it just seems that the bulk of the staff I’ve encountered have been a bit careless and clueless as to what they’re doing. I did have some nurses that did a phenomenal job, but I personally would not go back to this hospital.
