Before you go to Phoebe Emergency Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Albany emergency room think.
Alex HolwickI had the worst experience! My daughter was not breathing well we took her to the ER because we had no other options. They got her back quickly and told us she had croup and did a breathing treatment on her without asking. They then told us they were admitting her because her throat look swollen and they were concerned. When we FINALLY got a room they told us she had to stay because of the breathing treatment not because of her throat. The story changed with every person who came into the room. When I requested to be released so we could return home ( 2 1/2 hours away) and follow up with our pediatrician they said they couldn’t and if I did take her home without the Dr.’s consent that they would report us to child protective services!! Very very rude people who were only concerned with making money off of my sick baby!SJ GreenWaited in the waiting room for 9 hours, bleeding heavily (after telling them I was pregnant, nothing happened) i bled on the seats and in the bathroom. I tried 7 times to get help, but all the receptionist & the nurse that takes the vitals (she was extremely rude) kept saying was “they won’t allow us to give wait times”. By 12:30, I was seen and it resulted in a miscarriage. However, the RNs I had was amazing.Regina ThomasThis place is a joke to ER’s. I had to bring my husband here because he had what seemed like a heart attack. Checked in at 10am. Ran a EKG, blood work, and vital signs within the 1st hour. Then nothing… nothing at all. He got called to the back at 4:15 pm where another EKG was done. Soon after he was moved to a “2nd waiting area” which was a chair in the hallway, and I was told to wait again in the lobby.. If have a choice.. I wouldn’t come here. There is a lot of people still in the waiting room.. and tons waiting still in the hallway in the back area. I would check out one of the smaller urgent care places before coming here. This is just ridiculous.Tabatha Pike⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy husband broke his collarbone and was in a lot of pain when we arrived at the ER. They were very prompt in getting him back. Everyone we came in contact with was very nice and compassionate. We had an excellent experience.samantha jacksonMy sister went there to deliver her baby and from the moment we got there it was disappointing. My main issue was the cleanliness. The waiting room was dirty, the delivery room was run down. When my sister was moved to recovery room there was tissue in the corner of the shower and thats only the start. They didn’t take her trash out for a day and a half even though she requested. The deficiencies goes on on. Would not recommend going there to deliver your baby. The nurses are fairly decent but the over service is horrible.Bob NicholsI sincerely believe that the people helping (I use this word very sarcastically) in the emergency room check in and waiting room would be better staffed with people just pulled off the street. My wife fell and broke her hip and I had to use an ambulance to get her there. It was a very bad break. They brought her to the waiting room to be checked in where they gave her a low priority had her sit in a wheel chair. She was in intense pain but they did not care.Whitney Davis⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedSpent a week in the hospital and it was amazing the nurses was so nice and they was right there and the doctors was even more nice I had a wonderful doctor great hospital all around and I would recommend this hospital to anyoneKeaundra WoodallTerrible Service in the Emergency Room Department! I wish Palmyra Hospital was still open as their own entity, in lieu of Phoebe buying them out. I feel that if staffing is the root cause of poor service then why not invest in getting and BUILDING a great staff! Phoebe should not try to Monopolize South West Georgia! Be STEWARDS and INVEST in nurses, INVEST in Techs, INVEST in CURRENT HOSPITALS! Make them efficient and BETTER! After being rushed to the ER via EMS, my dad waited seven hour (or more), that is absolutely no way to be treated! If I can help it- in the FUTURE, I’d MUCH rather take my chances with suffering in pain or dying at home!Alicia Wills⭐️⭐️I had heart surgery and I have had excellent care. Dr. Koomson and the nurse’s were great. However, it’s 3 o’clock and lunch still hasn’t been served and the pharmacy took several hours and phone calls to get my heart medicine to me. I finally called my doctor’s office and they called the pharmacy. It’s a shame that there are so many talented people working for a hospital that just can’t seem to get their stuff together.S. HartAfter spending 9 hours in the ER yesterday it makes me wonder why town couldn’t use 2 competing hospitals. Response time is horrific. People sitting around coughing, vomiting and getting very explosive at the wait. I witnessed a lady who lost consciousness and her boyfriend was calling for help. Not one nurse ran to her. Lady at desk called somene on phone. Response took awhile. I was stupefied. Another lady who definitely had mrntal issues ranted and cussed on phone all night.Phoebe you need to improve. This is unacceptable!Ashley HerrmannAWFUL!!! only reason I even gave it a 1 star was so I could write a review. This is specific to the Emergency Room RN Named LINDSAY! My son came through with a fever of 103 and a severe reaction to amoxicillin where he was coughing blood coupled with a very horrible case of pneumonia. This was in December . She wanted to administer a nasal flu test and my son couldn’t breath well. He asked if we could wait a few minutes to do it after being poked and poked over again with needles for blood he needed a minute to relax. He is 17 . She pushed and pushed the issue and stayed by his bed telling him to hurry and looking at her watch (I thought I was in the twilight zone noway this could be happening)and told my son if he wanted “a 4 yr down the hall could show him how it’s done” I asked her to leave our room because of how impatient and rude she was and she apologized and said they are just busy. Really?! Complete unempathetic behavior because your busy. When isn’t an emergency room?! Ater my son was diagnosed with all this upstairs at phobe he was eventually admitted to Atlanta by ambulance because we found out he had Stevens Johnson syndrome where all his mucus membranes become ultimately infected and oozing pus . He was spitting up about 200 CC of pus every 10 minutes 🙁 He was so sick at the children’s hospital with an extensive stay and as a mother I’ll never forgive her for treating him that way in the emergency room. I hope nobody treats her sick child like that. As a mother I was scared and sick and couldn’t even eat and that moment replays in my head. Especially when my son has such a big heart and was so sick and so embarrassed by her!G LApparently they refreshed the reviews, mine is gone, so I will make sure to let people know again, the billing department here is horrible. They charge a nursery fee when your new born will not even spend time in the nursery now. You will experience issues where you are told no pay due, but get a letter months later saying an unpaid due is being sent for collections. When you call, the amount they say you owe will change a few times in the process of figuring out how to pay (because you wont be able to pay it easily). More suits in this hospital than scrubs, that should say enough. Take my review down again, I’ll be checking and reposting so others know what kind of people you are.Gail Williams⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I gave birth to my son here. My experience was very good. The labor & delivery ward was very helpful and kind to me and my son. They are BF friendly and took great care to protect mothers & babies from the flu epidemic. My only complaint was the kitchen. I had stated my religious dietary needs on the menu & order. The kitchen kept sending what they wanted me to have and i had to send the meals back.Maragret Johnson⭐️⭐️⭐️Questionable services….Megan HudsonThe emergency room is a joke. My mother was sent home septic by three residents. We were told she had a room upstairs because of how sick she was. It would be different if the hospital was packed and there was no room for her. One of the residents proceeded to argue with my mother about the amount of insulin she takes. We were definitely not satisfied with the lack of respect and professionalism. I would definitely not recommend this hospital to anyone. These residents need to learn how to talk to and take care of patients if they want to be actual doctors!Arlet DNever has any rooms! That’s a shame! If you want to die this is a great place to go! I saw a person collapse on the floor and they took 5 min. to pick the poor girl up. And after that, they told her to pick her own self up. That’s just sad and depressing! So my grandma who was sick helped her and the nurse told her not to help her because my grandma might injure herself (sarcasm)Tammy Wiley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy fiance had a heart attack after arriving via ambulance in the ER. It all happened so fast. His heart stopped for 5 minutes and the nurses took action so quickly and worked together professionally and brought him back. I am so greatful to the Phoebe staff for not giving up on him. Today he is doing great…thank you all so very much!Angel AliseEmergency care is very rude not friendly at all! Need better customer service skills because this is the worst I have ever seen! Because are sick and not feeling well so why would they have to come to a place where attitudes are horrible and nobody seems to care!! Jasmine DavisPhoebe don’t care about nobody health issues smh they rather walk around laughing and joking instead of doing their job, and not only that I know two people that they have killedLeslie MeyerI am only giving them a star because you can’t rate them a zero. I sat in the er for 4+ hours and didn’t see the doctor. The only thing they did was give me a blanket after asking several times for it, draw blood, and get an urinalysis. This is by far the worse ER I have ever had to go to.unknown userHad a bad experience with one of the nurses while I was in labor. She had a nasty attitude towards me and she didn’t even tell me what her name was. No name was written on the board, and i dont know if this is true, but they said theres no longer a nursery, and I’ve asked another nurse if she could bring me my stool softners, pain medication and the spray they give you after giving birth. I’ve never gotten it.Sandy SmithMy nephew and his wife suspected my young niece may have swallowed several tacs so she went to the emergency room. X-rays were done and the doctor decided to rush her via ambulance to Atlanta for further care. As soon as she was checked in at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the staff there said it was ridiculous she was even sent there. They said it was so apparent that the shiny object on her x-ray was easily identified as the zipper on her sweatshirt jacket. THEY DIDN’T EVEN TAKE OFF THE JACKET FOR THE X-RAY at Phoebe! I said REALLY????How stupid is that? Who read the x-rays at Phoebe Putney Hospital? What technician didn’t know the basics of taking an simple x-ray? Unbelievable! Also, the drama that unfolded had a family scared for their daughter’s life while following the ambulance to Atlanta. It also cost a lot of money to rush a child by ambulance for over 3.5 hrs. Somebody needs to go back to school!Amanda JohnsonHave a cardiac patient with me, previous heart issues and all they do is tell us to wait because the beds are full! Your beds have been full for four hours???? They is the worst hospital, I pray Leesburg get their hospital!!! This place will also kill you so fast because they can’t keep their act together. I will be taking this matter to the BBB.Janet MartinI give a -1! Since when is being Mentally Assaulted by an ER dr compassion? I was yelled at and degraded by an er Dr at Pheobe North today who knew nothing at all about meor my health problems. He had his mind made up before he even came in the room, he didnt even examine me.Warrior RageThey are the worst i have been in lobby 4 hr with chest pains and breathing issues and i am a cerifeid. Cordo myopothy and congestive heart patient this horribleEsha BrownI do not like this hospital ! They did not let my 4 yr old niece come in and use the bathroom. Told her to use it outside ! What kind of mess is that ?!?!Prince Perkins7 hours wait to be seen is radiclesOscar GarciaWorst hospital, the staff was rude and they didn’t even care about my sick wife. DO NOT COME HERE!Doug Crawford⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedDr. Lopaz and Joann Moria, PA along with Derrick, nurse, and the respiratory staff were great in caring for my grandmother, Carol Crawford.Breanna Harkins⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedNurses were on it, doctor was cool, quick serviceNicole TaylorPoor service. If you are a college student from out of town beware.Tonya Sanderson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat services wonderful loving people God sentKeyaira G NicoleAlways has to sit & wait for a very long time. They need to hire more doctors, fire more doctors, or simply work faster.Adrienne WrightWould only go there to get stabilized before being transferred to another hospital.Janorris Winkfielf⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe best plast e veryDevonnish MSat I the waiting room of the ER from 6pm to 2am before finally getting up to leave. 8 hours of waiting and never got to see a doctor.
