Becky Schneider I’ve used this facility because it’s the closest to where I live. I recently took my son for a speech evaluation. After being told both on the phone and in-person that the evaluation would be covered by my specialist copay, I received a bill for $258 in the mail a month and a half later. I called to see if it had been coded incorrectly. The rep said that the $258 was part of his deductible. When I asked why I wasn’t told the specialist copay would cover the evaluation only after the deductible was paid, she said “because no one knows how much everyone’s deductible is.” My point was, when I inquired and said I was concerned about cost, the reps should have been professional enough to tell me the that the copay amount only covered the evaluation after the deductible. I assume they work with insurance every day. That’s how they get paid, so actual customer satisfaction and professional accountability are irrelevant to them, and it shows. In the past, I’ve had urgent lab orders botched at this same facility, and was charged for them anyway, with the administration offering me around $20 to put toward a future lab when the botched order was hundreds of dollars. The administration has a cow town level of professionalism. Drive an extra half hour and use a facility that has trained staff interested in more than their cell phones.Heidi Robertson The incompetence of the employees at this hospital is amazing. Their billing system is horrible and trying to get an answer from anyone is beyond reason. After talking to and being transferred to 3 different departments I still don’t have an answer.Sadie Espinoza I’ve came to this ER three times this year because it’s the closest to my house and every single time I’ve came, the front staff, nurses, and doctors are very rude and unprofessional. The lady at the front desk literally said, “what do you need?” The doctor seemed very frustrated and annoyed by us. It’s not ok to act this way with people who are in need of help! The doctors don’t care about anyone. My daughter had a rash from her thighs to her lower back and the doctor came in glanced and told me to put vasaline on it and said she didn’t know what it was. 7 years of schooling for an I don’t know. I was very upset and ended up taking her somewhere else the same day where they prescribed her a cream. Not to mention there’s blood on the floor that no one has cleaned up. This place is the worst! They explained everything to me. This hospital is A++Trevor Sayler The nurses that I’ve dealt with here are quite literally the rudest, least caring nurses I’ve ever met. My mother was sent to the emergency room a week ago for severe vomiting and dehydration. Not one nurse there bothered to check her lymph nodes, didn’t listen to her lungs, didn’t check her for the flu, they literally did three things there: gave her an IV, gave her a catscan, sent us home with no answer. There’s a reason this hospital is called death valley by people that know it. The only reason we went there is because that’s where the ambulance went.Lawrence Williams Stay away from Dr. Fitzgerald and her incompetent team. My prosthetic provider was trying to contact them for months on a prescription edit. I had to wait from March to September (of 2018) for a new leg due to their refusal to work with people. Then they forgot to put my wife’s prescription in…. had to go back… Then, 2 days ago, did the same thing to me. Forgot to send my prescriptions over. I have been waiting two days wondering what was going on. In addition to that, the pharmacy had to get a prior approval before filling one of my prescriptions completely (7 day limit otherwise). “Dr.” Fitzgerald’s sub-par (to be as nice as humanly possible….) had no idea that I was sitting there listening to the call. They literally told the pharmacist “I don’t want to do that right now so tell him he can have 7 unless he comes into the office” when they asked them to call my insurance to give the the necessary prior approval. Then had the audacity to call me to tell me that I could only have 7 unless I came back in. I said “you know I was on that call right? I know what you said!” She then hung up on me telling me that she wouldn’t be abused. Her? I am the patient that is not getting his medication, and walking on a prosthesis that is the wrong size because they were too foolish to get things done correctly. I can’t get a new leg because it took them so long to get the last one done. ….. She is the one being abused. To be fair, I did call her office “too stupid to get a prescription right” – but come on – third attempt and they messed it up again. I will never go back. Please save yourselves the trouble of dealing with this inept group of less than professional medical “professionals” FIND ANOTHER OPTION!Jack Linder⭐️⭐️⭐️My grandmother had an appointment here for a procedure that should only take 3 hours. The appointment was scheduled for 7:30, but the appointment was rescheduled for 11:30 and my grandmother was never informed. They in processed her at 7:30 anyways and made her wait until 11:30 to conduct her procedure. At 11:30 the doctor came in and had no idea what procedure was being conducted. He promptly left after clearly being confused. His incompetence was blatant from my first interaction with him. It is currently 12:30 and he has not returned. This 3 hour procedure has already take 5 hours and the actual procedure has not yet occurred. Additionally, the front desk staff was short and rude with my grandmother during her initial check in, and I have listened to medical staff stand around and gossip all morning. I do not normally write reviews, but I have absolutely nothing else to do because of the unprofessional and unsettling care I have experienced here. I would strongly advise against using this medical facility at all costs. Update: It is currently a Monday. Our doctor is outside our room discussing his plans for next weekend outside our room with a coworker. Update 2: The medical center reached out to me and they were very concerned about my situation. I am glad they are willing to take the input. But I finally made an appointment with Dr. Gawart, who was fantastic, his office staff was fantastic. Platte Valley was awesome! The pre-op experience was good, even though I was nervous and cried half the time. My room was spacious, clean, the decor was very nice, the nursing staff was great, I was on a liquid diet, but the cafeteria food was good. My experience was over all wonderful. I would never think about going anywhere else for anything else. Never did I once feel like I was an inconvenience or just another patient. What an amazing group of people that truly make you feel comfortable throughout a most uncomfortable process. Dr. Moss patiently explained the procedure and stopped by afterwards for a chat and the rest of the staff were professional, friendly and sincere in their words and actions. I would definitely recommend this hospital. The nurses were excellent and really cared. I would put names as far as people we encountered but I am afraid I will leave someone out. Very discouraging considering the public is searching for trust in the community, and with a representative with a bad attitude and is vocal about it. I do not trust that your network of care providers will be able to provide my family with the level of care that I need to feel safe, and be reassured that we matter like the many patients you have on a regular basis…Stephanie Salamanca There’s a reason this hospital has the nickname “Death Valley” i have yet to meet a doctor with good bedside manner. Dr. Wilkins probably has the worst bedside manner to date. Her intention may be good but you just get this “superiority complex” vibe when she speaks to you. Eck! If you’re considering delivering a baby here I would reconsider. It’s worth the drive to have your baby at any of the hospitals outside Brighton and they’d be far more likely to support a patient led birth and / or birth plan. The er is a mess as well. I went in at 10 weeks pregnant for bleeding. The er doc kept reiterating that “YOU” will be okay, the pregnancy is threatened and I can’t tell you if the fetus will be okay but “YOU” will be okay. I understand in times like this the patient is the priority over the fetus.. but to be so dismissive of the life inside of me is just gross. With no regards to the psychological effects that loosing a pregnancy has on a woman this er doc let me know “I” would be just fine. Funny, 3 weeks later I had another uptick in bleeding and opted to go to university to get checked. Dr brown- an er doc there let me know that the baby looks good, that he knows how scary a time like this is and that he hopes nothing but good outcomes for my pregnancy. He was so kind and acknowledged how troubling this time was for me. He knew my pregnancy mattered a great deal to me and had the best bedside manner. I could go on and on about my less than ideal experiences at this hospital. It’s incredibly frustrating. I wish there was good care here because this hospital is local to me but I’d rather drive out of my way to receive compassionate care. There’s a couple good things I can say about this hospital. The third floor is clean and comfortable and the nurses are so kind. I was promptly seen, a nurse assessed my condition and spoke with Dr. Harrod regarding the needs for meds and a breathing treatment. The doctor quickly came in, and was in agreement. Within 30 minutes I had a chest x-ray in my room, medications in the IV for inflammation in and around my lungs, a breathing treatment, and was feeling better. I was in and out within a couple hours. My medications were called in, and even changed later to fit my ‘insurance requirements’ of dosage (ugh!) I have been to this facility numerous times, and I have received excellent care from ER, to surgery, to MRI and X-rays, and labs. The cleanliness is always top notch, and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. It is nice to feel I can trust a facility and those in charge of helping me in my health care. However that is not my experience today. I was admitted for a simple surgery and I couldn’t be anymore happier with the surgery itself, Dr. Egkberg (the surgeon), the nurse staff Josie, Lindsey, Rebecca and of course the annastealagist who’s name I can not remember go figure. I also had a couple ER visits for myself, an emergency surgery, and a couple visits with these kiddos. They perscribe me a steroid, and muscle relaxer, and an anti depressant after I explained to them they have done that before!! I was then treated rudely and disrespectfully by the doctor when I challenged them. They never took a look at my back and never even came close to helping me resolve my problem. I arrived early for it. She came out and had someone sitting next to me come in. She saw me waiting there. After an hour and a half of waiting I asked the cashier what was going on. Cecilia came out and said that because I hadn’t checked in, I would get no service even though she admitted to seeing me waiting. I guess this is how they treat you if you’re not giving them money but rather asking for it.D a n the Trash Man I’d rate even less if I could. This hospital is a joke. They don’t care about anything but money. During my ER visit I was only actually checked out by one person and it was the nurse who did my vitals. Everyone else was short and snippy and rude with me. Now, they’re trying to charge me $1600 for not even touching me or giving me anything (no IV no meds, no room NOTHING) and threatening to send me to collections. When I call to set up a payment plan, nobody in financial counseling ever answers. Ever. I’ve left two messages in the last week and not a damn person has bothered to call me back. So now I get to drown in the stress of my honestly BS medical bill until they send me to collections because nobody knows how to answer the phone. Don’t ever go here for anything. They just see you as $$$ and not as a patient with a problem. They don’t listen because they don’t care. Billing has yet to be an issue. Possibly things are improving and maybe it was growing pains of a hospital. Charged $1000 to walk in and leave… We went because the girlfriend was having issues with her intestines… Stayed for about 2 hours in the emergency room still no definitive time to when they would see her so we left. A month later they sent us a bill for right around $1000. Still fighting with them not to pay the bill. On top of that I got a piece of dirt in my eye and scratched my cornea. It was a work comp issue my employer sent everything to the hospital day of the incident. A month later they send me a bill for $2300. I Called to resolve the issue twice the first time they said they didn’t have the claim number so went back to my employer and got the claim number. It all began two days after I had major surgery at UC Health in Denver. I experienced chest pains while recovering at home and was rushed by ambulance to PVMC where it was determined I had suffered a mild heart attack and need 2 stents where I had blockages of 80% and 90%. I was sent home again the next day. Eight days later I returned to PVMC emergency room via ambulance with more chest pains. My first exceptional nurse was Mindy who I first met in that ER on my second visit. She was kind and made me feel that taking care of ME was HER only priority. In my opinion, she epitomizes perfection in the profession. I was admitted and was fortunate enough to have her take care of me the next day also. She had volunteered for an extra shift when demand was high and staff was short. I will always be grateful for all she did for me. The next outstanding nurses I refer to as the ‘dynamic duo’….. Nikki and Jennah. I cannot say enough about the kindness and gentle treatment these two provided to me. Neither of them ever hurried in and out – they always took the time to assure I was okay. They asked questions and made sure that I understood what was going on with my condition. They explained my medications and how each would help in my recovery. They encouraged me to question anything that was on my mind. ‘There were many, many kind personnel, but these three that I mentioned by name are exceptional and I thought it would be appropriate to say so.
