Portage Hospital Reviews

Before you go to Portage Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Portage emergency room think.

Alician Drabik⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had a minor wound with a high chance of infection. At 10 p.m. on a Saturday night my treatment was quick, curtious, extremely profession and informative. I felt like I was in good hands and now 24 hours later, no signs of infection. This is my nearest care center and I feel confident coming here for any future emergencies (although I hope to never need the service again).Tanesha Harrison Terrible place to go if you are looking to feel better. I was seen in the ER a few days ago for sudden headache, dizziness, and pressure behind my eyes and left feeling the same exact way! The doctor was very nonchalant about any of my concerns. However, there was a nurse by the name of Lynda that seemed like she was trying her best to be caring and it almost came across like she was trying to make up for how rude the doctor was.Myrtle Harrell When it comes to the ER oh my the nurses and staff that works in that department are very rude. They try to tell you there is nothing wrong with you like they can feel your pain. The problem that i have with them is when they tell me nothing is wrong but I go somewhere else and they notice it is a problem they should of been sued a long time ago. They need to get rid of everyone in the ER department because apparently they are there just for a paycheck not to really care for people.Anthony David Don’t waste your time with the lab. Simple tests should have taken a few minutes, I was there several hours (they were not even busy) listening to two ladies chit-chatting in the back. Finally asked for an estimate on how long it would take and was given the same rude, snobby “it’ll be just a few minutes” that I’d been told an hour prior. Ultimately didn’t get the labs done. Seriously, don’t contribute to their income by going here. There must be a lab somewhere in NWI where employees know how to treat their customers.Lynn Andrus I got to the hospital early because I had to fast . I’ve waited now for almost 2 hours still sitting here waiting for labs to be done.Mark Dehnart Nursing staff and intake was fast. Waiting for the joke of a dr a whole bother story. DR. AWOFADEJU, AYOOLAS took him 35 plus minutes to tie 7 stitches and it was a horrible job. Worst dr I have ever had to deal with.Brittni Kinley I will not be back ; came here twice didn’t do much for me at last went to a different er like my dr said and found out right away what was wrongL Pr The day after 4th July moving like snails maybe 2 people taking blood 5th we will be with you in a couple minute like a half hour later very very slow!!!!!!!!!!Tara Schafer Worst place ever… Nurses are rude and they clearly wasted their money on their schooling for their degree because they have no idea how to diagnose correctly and always would claim my son had an ear infection which was correct one time. Lazy people who don’t care about the well being of patients. They only show up to collect a paycheck and receive money from patients. You say you have no insurance and they give the ultimatum to either ride in the ambulance and be admitted in their hospital or go to jail so clearly my life was not in grave danger cuz had I refused to go to the hospital they were gonna arrest me. It’s all about money. The better business bureau needs to close them down already and I’m very surprised they’re still running that place. Go to St. Mary’s before even thinking about going here. Your life may depend on it.Valorie Dawn Clifford⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI always go there ! No problems But yes bloodwork should be separated from ER My choice is Valpo on 6James Smith How do labs take 3 hours and you have to sit with all the sick patients while you wait since the ER and lab are together. Smh I won’t ever be backKingmecca87 Brown The worst hospital in the world went for a follow up and it toke 4 hours to be seenMama Tried⭐️⭐️I just need labwork drawn. I dont want to sit where sick and contagious people are sitting. They take forever. It’s simple, I’ll take my labs and go to Quest diagnostics. They can have my business.Kayla Sonnier Insane that its been over 30 mins with one in the waiting room but me and i still havent got called for labs. That mind u are a stat orders. There is a reason they say stat. This meams u shall do it as fast as possible as the results are needed immediately. Im sitting her watching them all chit chat behind the window as if that is their job.Dawn Chandos Extremely disappointed and disgusted by this hospital & ER!!! I was seen at @5am today, (So not hardly any other patients were there). I saw 2 different Dr’s, and yet the 1st one barely examined me, talked about meds she was going to give me (right away), and not only did that NOT happen, she didn’t even bother to pass on that info to the next Dr… so he claimed anyway. Seriously, is that not your job as a Dr??? Same goes lwith both nurses I saw! When the 2nd Dr finally came in (for all of 5 second literally), he proceeded to ask ME what the 1st Dr did/said. He NEVER ONCE bothered to even examined me AT ALL! Even questioning the if I had ‘really’ told the other Dr about my severe cough, nausea/vomiting/dehydration/etc….. Which ummm, HELLO was a the biggest reason that I was even there this morning!!! Not to mention that I have asthma….. But–again, NO EXAM by Dr #2 at all!!!! When he (#2 Dr) did come in very briefly, I still had to tell him what antibiotic to prescribe to me, gave me a prescription for a med that I have already been and am still on, and even asked me for my medication allergies! ALL of which info was updated on my chart when I came in this morning…. which tells me that in addition to NOT examining me, getting report from Dr #1, etc…. he Obviously also couldn’t be bothered by actually look at my chart! He didn’t follow thru with the 1st Dr’s orders at all! #2 Dr didn’t bother to give me ANY of the lab results– despite my repeatedly asking about them (and he did have them!)… At 1st I was trying to just be kind, thinking that it was shift change, etc. But he and the 2nd nurse told me straight out that the 1st Dr was still at the desk and was going to be the one to discharge me… My visit was made even WORSE by the 2nd nurse that I had (name tag said Christine)! She was so beyond extremely rude, condescending, and more to me!!! When people come to the ER, they are already feeling absolutely terrible/sick/etc!! And the very LAST thing they need is rude and incompetent staff to deal with!! I finally had to tell her (nurse#2) that I did NOT NEED or APPRECIATE her behavior! I would have said the same to Dr #2, but he never bothered to come back in! Nurse #2 came in, took my IV out— extremely roughly, and proceeded to put plastic tape and a small single cotton ball over it. And again, I’m VERY allergic to plastic tape (which again— was in my chart today!), she never once bothered to come back and check the IV site (which I bled A LOT!) And finally, #2 nurse even ‘supposedly’ lost my discharge paperwork! I most definitely will be calling Monday to file a formal complaint!!!! I strongly recommend that it you can, either wait until the Urgent Care Centers open, or going to the hospital in Hobart!!!Shelby Mosier I went to the hospital friday night. 5/25/18, knowing i was miscarrying, i have told the women i am bleeding terribly & needed to see someone, but unfortunately told me that i cannot get helped as i am 17 years old until my mother came in, mind you she was ON HER WAY, almost to the hospital. I ended up miscarrying in their bathroom & went straight to hobart hospital where they took me in right away & were respectful and helpful. I will never go back to portage again for help.D Wright Had the runs just need a doctor note for work, staff is very rude and unconcerned about patient well being. Been here waiting for 3 hours and still no doctor seen. People are vomiting in waiting room on the floors and nobody cares. Wow! Next time I’ll drive to Valpo.Maggie Quiroz This place is a disgrace!!! Very unprofessional and very rude! I will NEVER go back there again! First and last time!!!Ocean Wright I went to the emergency room on 3/15/18 and I’ve never felt more uncomfortable at a place that is supposed to be there for help. I was having horrible stomach pains and they made me feel dumb for even going in. My nurse name was “Flo” and she was extremely rude!! She made snobby comments, and gave me a drink to take. When I had finished it she had basically called me a liar and started to scrape the sides of the cup and make more remarks. I started to be rude back and then she suddenly became super nice. She should not be able to treat her patients that way, and nobody should let them! They take advantage of the people who are young and will make you feel dumb for even going! I will never go to them for anything no matter the emergency! Ridiculous and obnoxious!Blvck Savage Not good service. Staff is snobbymun murps Good luck trying to pay your bill online. Website is terrible. Support number is 1 persons desk whom is never there.
