Before you go to Presbyterian Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Albuquerque emergency room think.
The True FamilyThis ER was dangerously understaffed. Family member went in for dislocated hip (replaced) and the staff put little to no effort into pain management. Asked for an advocate many times, never showed. Had to advocate myself and could never get a straight answer as to what was going on. Pain levels reached levels 6-9 for 6 straight hours but could not get a single nurse or doctor to tell me how they would ‘fix’ and stay ahead of the pain (after some time we had a good idea when it was coming on). Did get yelled at by very young charge nurse for looking for my RN in another patients room due to ‘patient privacy…’ yet the staff had previously sat me in front of this same said patient’s room (open door) while I waited outside of my family member’s room while procedure was being performed. All in all an out of control zoo. The OR and the in 3rd floor in patient care, however was Excellent. The staff was knowledgeable, professional and communicative.Tamra Sanchez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedPresbyterian ER Room 043;MD James Wilkins; Nurse:Danielle,Katie, EMT: Reece,Lauren;Lead Nurse: Patrick,Susan and Script Judy, have Excellent Fred Factor Skills,Patients Care and Excellent People Skills!Kimberly Leppots⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Nobody likes to go to the ER, but I was surprised by the service here!! I do have some complaints but I think they’re universal in any ER off main street, USA. Overall, service was impressive and way beyond my expectation after my extensive wait!! Wish I could give a full 5 stars but see cons for why I give it a 4+ instead. PROS: *signage for check in was quick and easy. *Lady behind the counter was friendly and sympathetic to why I was there. *I waited only maybe 5 to 10 mins before they called me in to check vitals and do like a prescreening and had me go back out and wait until a room could open up. *The Security presence is very known and on top of any situation that wasn’t welcome (ESPECIALLY welcomed as a 30year old female- who was there from 8pm until 5am). -they escorted a handful of people out when I was there which was nice but of course you are left feeling bad cause they maybe needed some kind of help *centrally located *hand sanitizer and mouth mask dispensers everywhere which is nice. *there are vending machines that take card and dollars mostly. Looked like the coins didn’t work. But there is a subway in the main area next door if needed. Also door dashers stopped in a couple times. *the desk area can provide clean blankets upon request. As well as gauze, wheelchairs and some medicines if avail. CONS: *the location is a little tough, both as surrounding streets and the ER waiting room in general, but that’s just how it is on that corner of abq. *the wait: it was quite busy that the wait from check in until they called me to the smaller waiting room was 5 hours. From there, I didn’t see a person or here a peep for 2 hours. From there it was another hour before I got to see the dr and get any hands on attention. From there it went very smooth and quick. TOTAL TIME AT ER 9HRS on a Thursday eve. *there are some things you may not want to see or hear there but what can you do in an emergency? I saw a man urinate multiple times and dance around in it around the main area of the waiting room, and it took sometime before it was stopped or cleaned – but it was a very busy night in their defenses. Also there were some foul remarks yelled as some were being escorted out, so just have thick skin if you hear it.alissa salazarAwful waited 6 hours. Was laughed at and dropped by my nurse, kicked out without wheel chair when I still couldn’t walk. I ended paralyzed the next day and had to call an ambulance I literally refused going here and Lovelace treated me amazingly.Kristen WalkerThis place is a joke!!! Do not bring your love ones here. They pick and choose who should be seen first after sitting for 4 hours and people who came in way after me goes in before my child who is running a fever, crying because of pain and begging to go lay down. Never again will I come here poor bedside manner and people skills.C LOC⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCheCked in@the Emergency room at Kaseman NE and was seen in 30 minutes and got a room in about an hour. In the middle of the night.. There they told me that I needed other medical attention services which they Could not provide@ that facility. I was then transported by their ambulance services to the major Presberterian (Downtown). Very great Doctors and R.N.. and the techs are very professional and nice personalitys. I would recommend this hospital to my friends/family. Great food My buisness associate said that this is one of the best hospitals in New Mexico , and I agree. I will be switching my heaalth plan. Just come early for your appointment and use the parking garage…Robert Semmler10 hours and still waiting. There is no excuse to have sick people puking in the waiting room for 10 hours. Need to mange your resources better.Debra GarciaWorst customer service. They take in drug users, drunks prior to seeing someone referred by urgent care for possible stroke and who has insurance to pay for services.Phil CollinsOver 5hours still sitting in the er Probably my wife needs cat scan This should have been ordered 3 hours ago ,read and rule out damage and sent home. This would have taken a doc maybe 15 minutes total and have opened up another seat in the er. Horrible experience, next time we will go elsewhere.Wendy Montoya6hours waiting not even close to being seen daughter fainted and put her in a wheel and in a lit if pain left her thereAdrienne Acosta⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI took my 7 year old daughter there last week, she was experiencing very bad abdominal pain. I dreaded taking her to the ER but was very surprised at how clean the waiting room was! We got in very quick to see the doctor and the staff was just so sweet and genuine and concerned. Thank God she was just fine but they took extra time to check her out thoroughly, even gave her a sonogram. Great job!Andrew Dueck⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis place has lots of great memories! I volunteered here in the ED for 6 months! Thanks to all the great folks in New Mexico who can make a Canadian. Eh. Feel at home. Eh! Cleaned rooms, transported patients and over all had a great experience! Don’t be afraid of the folks in this ED ! They may seem busy but they do care!!Jessi KeeseeI hate this hospital! It’s gross the food is nasty. I was in labor and my babys heart was messing up I’m now being told to go home. The nurses are rude I refused a medication I have a bad reaction to and the nurse forced it in my iv anyway.LINDA LEE⭐️⭐️⭐️Waiting room almost empty, so wait was short. Put me in a drafty spot of the hall way with my flu like cold and strept throat. Glad it didn’t take to long or else I would have left with a pneumonia. I said something about that, but it was ignored! Not the right way, to treat a patient or the place to put some who is sick. Doc was great!Jim HannaVery cold waiting room. Over 10 hours waiting time is completely unacceptable. Elderly people leaving after 9 hours without treatment. Presbyterian hospital should be ashamedIvonne ChavezLobby is disgusting, the wait is usually 8 to 10 hours in the lobby not counting the wait in the room in which you can spend another 3 to 6, the staff is rude, in a hurry, careless, and they never know the answer to anything asked. They say that this hospital has the best, specialist, doctors, surgeons ect…and I don’t disagree for the most part but the way the ER is doing check in’s needs to change. Including keeping the homeless out of there if they don’t need treatment.Trev Skrupskis⭐️⭐️I was here last night and arrived at 1 pm. Was not seen until midnight. A guy next to me in a wheelchair had 6 gran mall seizures and they did nothing for him. The intake staff was pathetic and down right rude and although I get it’s a difficult job, almost all the triage nurses were apathetic. They got my name wrong twice and blamed it on me even though my father and I both asked staff of they had called my name when we heard it and they said no. I’ve been to ers around the state and never been treated with such disrespect and apathy. Once they got me into a room and treatment i improved drastically but no one should have to wait that long and be treated so disrespectfully.Milo UnderhillWe was crazy. They lost my name and I have been waiting over 8 hours. Front desk staff is rude. Did not take responsibility.Ashley BrittAwful awful place! Don’t get their emergencies in order, they put drunks before anyone, and the sniffles before a toddler in pain. Worst place to go. You’ll be waiting in waiting area for 6 or more hours then another 8 hours in the room once you get one.Anna Herrera⭐️⭐️The physicians are friendly and know their stuff. 25% of the nursing staff is lazy and rude. 25% of the nursing staff is amazing. Waiting time is eternal. Go to UNMH for critical emergencies.Oliver AnthonyAwful staff, poor attitude. Was there for 5 hours and wasnt seen.Christian Schramm⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️the Dr was friendly and helpful.raiskis1It is like something from a Dickens novelSandra ChavezLong wait
