Was surrounded by nurses and staff who immediately set to work. It took some time to get to any conclusion about my diagnosis, but was taken care of well, and stayed a couple days. Oddly, I saw the doctors over a Skype connection. The future of medicine, I suppose. The staff had my care well in hand, so no complaints. Who really takes care of patients anyway.audrey Snodgrass I would give 0 stars if I could. I came into this ER feeling light-headed and dizzy thinking I was probably dehydrated. I gave my extensive health history to the nurse and explained what was going on. When the Dr came in I reiterated my complaint. He looked at my tongue said I don’t look dehydrated but we will run some tests. Not 10 minutes after my blood draw doctor comes in says everything is normal I’ll have the nurse get your paperwork. I asked if he knew why I felt so ill then, he responded “I don’t know your neuro check was fine just drink some water” and left. I asked for a copy of the blood work and the nurse told me they can’t give it to me. Upon leaving still feeling as bad as when I came in, I didn’t receive any medications or leave with any instructions but to drink water. Long story short I went to providence on monday and was diagnosed with a UTI, placed on antibiotics and given an antinflammatory injection. The pain improved over the next two days but still lingered. I started to have more discomfort tonight and decided to go now instead of at 3 am. I was seen right away. A Dr. Wilson came in and had a list of my medications in his hands and proceeded to treat me with suspicion and that I might be an Rx abuser. He flat out told me that I told him I took something tonight. Clearly I told him that happened on monday morning. I asked him why I was getting these types of questions and that I just wanted to make sure its not kidney issues. Due to the excessive conversation about my meds I never remembered to tell him how I am straining to urinate and felt the need to go all the time. No mention of xrays but that he can give antinflammatory injection and that I needed to call my doctor for an MRI. How is this resolving my pain? I DO NOT WANT PAIN MEDS! For the love of god do not judge people like this! You never know you might be speaking to a fellow medical professional and the way you treat them can and will have an impact on them. Thanks to you and your staff I drove home in tears, in pain, not treated, and still concerned my issue has to do with my kidneys. Shame on all of you and even the nurse that attempted to stick up for that doctor.Jay I should have took the reviews more seriously. Its not hard to tell when the nurse helping your family is lying to them. Next time we will go somewhere else. A little talk about care instructions would have been nice. Adding to my review. My daughter’s knee did not get better. Had the doctor at St. Luke’s referred us to an orthopedic doctor she would not have ended up with blood on her knee! The doctor should have his license revoked!Michelle Gibson⭐️⭐️⭐️There was not a wait, they took us in right away when I took my daughter in for abdominal pain. The nurses were kind and personable. They started and IV and drew blood, and then we waited for approximately two hours before anyone ever came back in. They didn’t start anything for her pain, no lab results, nothing. The labs were all normal so they contributed her pain to a pre-existing medical condition but ordered a CT scan “just to be sure”. CT showed appendicitis, not her pre-existing condition. OK, fine, she needed her appendix out, but guess what, they can’t do surgery there, they wanted to transfer her by ambulance to St. Lukes downtown. I didn’t feel the need to pay an ambulance bill, at which point the physician became somewhat rude. I told him I wanted to take her to a hospital closer to home rather than drive downtown at 1 in the morning. He basically said that if I took her anywhere except a St. Lukes facility that she would need new labs and a new CT as they wouldn’t release those results. I reluctantly agreed to take her to St. Lukes South. Her trip in total cost me nearly $1000. Now, yes, I did have to meet my deductible, but did you know that St. Lukes charges MORE for their services than most hospitals in that area? My insurance, like most has an “allowable” amount for services, if a hospital exceeds that amount they charge the patient directly. I asked to make payment arrangements, which they declined unless I wanted to pay INTEREST!!!! Did you know that hospitals are now REQUIRED to post their pricing for patients to compare? The adminstrative person checking me in, our precious, warm nurse and very personable doc made this such a positive experience. I figured they planned on using it again. Nope. After 15 min of waiting by myself. I took it off. Second: Only nice person was the black lady at the desk. I did not get a smile, hi, bye, none of that when I went to the back to get checked on. Third: After cutting into my ear with blood coming out. They did not offer me a bandaid. When I slipped in the mud and ended up with a broken rib on Jan 15th I told brother to take me there. Time was approx.1:30. I was in severe pain and was glad check in was good and fast taken by wheelchair back to a room . Once to the room the nurse /aid never even attempted to help me on to the bed .I managed to get on the bed setting up ,could not lie down , while moaning the whole time .Was instructed to remove top and put on gown . After a bit was taken to a room room for xrays .Again no help to the chair or once in the room to stand for the xrays. She told me how to move and that was done . Back to the room ,no help out of chair to the bed . After about 30 mins dr came in and said 1 rib broken and he would get me something for pain ,few mins later nurse /aid ? brought me pill , hydrocodone. Gladly took it and sat alone waiting for the pain to ease even a little . Not so . That was when I realized there was no call button. It had been about 35 mins after I had taken the pill when I could not stand it anymore and walked to the door , saw a person outside and told her the pain pill was doing nothing . Shortly thereafter came in with a shot of fentanyl and no help to maneuver gown nor pants to expose the hip area which was very painful. Then waited ,no relief ,I am moaning very loudly as the pain was excruciating.I waited for relief and after 45 mins decided again I had to go find someone .That is when I noticed the glass door had been closed ,not only the curtain .This time there was no one directly outside I had to walk toward the station to tell them the shot wasn’t working .So then after a few a lady proceeds to to put in an IV .After 3 tries and blowing one vein with not so much as a word finally done and gave me the morphine which while not helping tremendously did take the edge off . At around 430 was told they wanted to keep me overnight for pain management. Somewhere just before 6 was taken to a room .Once there nurses were great very compassionate and caring . While in there was given some pain pills and by morning pain was at a tolerable level. Was told it was Dilaudid and very glad for it . I was under the impression that I would be sent home with a script for that , I nor my daughter looked at the script before turning it in to Walmart Drive thru Pharmacy. Pharmacist came back and said it would be at least a couple hours because it seemed like a high dose for a first script,daughter told him I had a broken rib ,he said a couple hours . So after a couple hours when I hadn’t got a text from them I called ,Said they had left a voicemail but no one had called them back . Check back tomorrow. So here I have no pain pills and cannot get any til the next day. So when daughter goes to pick up the script ,it was for 5 .325 mg hydrocodone ,the very first pain med they had given me in the ER. Not a good experience at all . I felt zero empathy or compassion from that ER at all! Very disappointing ! I will not go back.Quincy Morris⭐️⭐️⭐️Same care you would get at Providence. No better. They failed to give discharge paperwork, instruct me how to take care of myself, provide the referral to the specialist they stated they would, and they did not send me a bill (even after calling their customer service). Facility was clean, but nurses were barely with it 9am the morning after the 4th of July. 3 stars is kind of generous — they did relieve the pain of the kidney stone after a :30min wait. I was having chest pains on the right side of my chest with numbness and tingling. When I went in I explained that to the admitting desk. I also told her I didn’t think it was heart..but I had been up all night in pain. Without even examining me the dr told me, “I don’t see anything wrong and if it were up to me I would tell you to go home.” He said I wasn’t having an emergency. Maybe not to him, but I am a 57 yo female with other health issues. He proceeded to yell at me until I was in tears. He then said give the lady my ins info…he was gonna show me by making me pay…literally. so..$350.00 later I had a nurse looking down her nose at me with disgust shoving a needle in my hand. I used to work in an ER and hospital as a respiratory therapist so I felt the attitude immediately. I was left with a huge bruise on my hand. When the blonde nurse took my blood the lady who did my ekg ..who was polite..said..I better take a new ekg bc this was not a good one. The blonde nurse said..”it doesnt matter anyway.” I used to do ekgs and it most certainly does matter. I said nothing as I was already feeling pretty crappy as it was. I was treated well by the lady who did ekg and chest xray but the blonde nurse copped the attitude as same as the doctor. She was not gonna even try to smile and try to put me at ease after my reprimand for even darkening their doorway. This was one of the most horrible experiences of my life..This doctor should take some anger mgmt and classes on bedside manner…even in the event of a non emergency…as it turned out. He could have been a bit less agressive with me. I will never use this place again as the doctor has his own issues to deal with.
