Saint Luke’s Community Hospital Reviews

Before you go to Saint Luke’s Community Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Overland Park emergency room think.

Angela Orozco⭐️⭐️Had to take my 4yo son in for a laceration on his chin around 10pm Monday night. The receptionist was so rude from the get go, she got us checked in but waited until we were out the door a whole hour later to stop us because she needed our information(ID, address, insurance, etc) Seriously?!! We were pretty much the only ones there and she waited until we were ready to head home to do her job. Dr Riley and the nurses took very good care of my son but it all starts with the check in person. Being a SLHS employee, I should know! I have waited days for the survey to come but nothing so here is your review. We will not be back to this location which is unfortunate because it is the closest one to us.Kristi Velicer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOutstanding service! Excellent care and a beautiful facility. No wait time to get in. 5 star experience all around!Zak Martin I came in with a busted eyebrow “that required stitches” after taking a nasty fall down some basement steps. Just recently, I had gotten over a pretty severe hip and lower back injury that will more than likely require surgery in the near furture. I relaid this information along to the attending ER physician (Dr. Von Fintel) while I was being evaluated. I was asked to rate my pain (I stated a 7/10) and she asked how it happened and pointlesss questions like whether or not I had been carrying anything down the stairs or not when I fell. I made it extremely clear that my head was killing me along with my lower back and that I was also quite nauseous. A clear indicator of a concussion. The nausea was never adresssed and I was continuously needled about why my heart rate was so high. (122bpm resting) Her exact words were “why are you so ampt up?” I replied probably because I’m hurting. Isn’t a high pulse a good indicator that someone is probably in discomfort of some kind (in this case pain)? She diflected and asked whether or not I took blood pressure medication and I replied by saying no. I’m in perfect health I’m just hurting right now. She reluctantly and finally addressed my pain after being there for over 20 mins. I’ve been to this location before and never have I had such a poor all around care. Every other visit has been nothing short of spectacular. She also did a very poor job of numbing the area and also got some kind of wound cleaner in my eye which burnt like hell. I was so ready to leave by this point I just delt with her sewing my wound shut along with the cleaning agent in my eye. Knowing very well the severity of my back pain she said “I’m going to prescribe a lidocaine patch it probably won’t help your back that much but I suggest Motrin or Tylenol for your aches and any discomfort over the next couple of days.” Geee thanks for reminding me that what you’re gonna give me Isn’t gonna work as well as what you could give me. I appreciate it. So I told her can you at least give me a small prescription of pain medicine until I can get an appointment to see my regular family physician. (Which usually takes a good week or so to schedule by the way.) 3 tablets of pain medicine is what she prescribed me, 3. Never X-rayed for any broken bones, nothing. It was like she wanted to get me stitched up and out the door. Thanks for your money see ya later. So sad what health care has come to. Because of people abusing medications some doctors are now complete cowards when it comes to prescribing certain medications that could/can make people’s quality of life much better in some circumstances. I will not be back here. Before this experience, I would of recommended this location to anyone, but now I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy. On top of all that, having yet looked in a mirror, I got back out to the waiting room before leaving and looked in the mirror I was still completely covered in blood. They didn’t even care enough to clean my face off or around the area damaged. Unbelievable.B Stevens⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery friendly staff. Dr. Riley was so compassionate and easy to work with. I was very impressed with this facility.Vicky G⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went in one evening with a painful kidney stone. The staff was quickly able to see me and get me comfortable. They had the full equipment right on site to diagnose my condition, and provided me with a name and number for a follow-up the next day. I cannot that the staff enough for their kindness and courtesy. I highly recommend!!Irwin Herrero⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was in and out in less than 1.5 hours; much better than an ER. This is the second time this year we’ve used the hospital. Again, the staff was wonderful! I was called in by the time I signed the permission form. The nurses and phlebotomist were friendly, fun and attentive. Dr.Brovont was respectful and listened to what I had to say about my issue. He talked with me, instead of at me. He talked so I would understand my issue and the care.Cheryl Laster I wish I would have gone to any other ER. I was lectured about migraines not being emergencies, even after two weeks and pursuing all treatment options. Was treated very rudely by the nurse, made to feel that I was there drug seeking. I know it happens, I know they probably see druggies all the time. However, they could have verified my issues instead of sending me home still in awful pain.Charles E. Disney⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFrom the moment we (my brother and I), (Charles was the patient) entered your front reception area on November 25, 2018, we were greeted with a kind and helpful lady. We were immediately taken to an examination room where a physician met us and an RN took some vitals. And e-rays were also made. We will list the names of all of the individuals we encountered! You are to be commended with the very professional and caring people on your staff at your Saint Luke’s Community Hospital North at 75th & Metcalf in Overland Park, Kansas. Everything in the hospital was clean and quite inviting! We will certainly recommend your services to our family and friends. Thank you and God bless each one of you! Most sincerely yours, CHARLES ELIAS DISNEY and DANIEL H. DISNEY (brothers) YOUR PROFESSIONAL & CARING STAFF: Dr. Anne Hall, M. D., Erin M., R. N., Herman, Radiologist, Shelbie, Receptionist CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS TO EACH ONE OF YOU…Annabelle Lee⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWow, there was no one in the ER on a Friday night. My wait time was 5 minutes. The check in was run by medical staff (paramedic was up there too). 5/5 stars. Friendly and fast Nursing staff is excellent. My nurse explained everything she was doing step-by-step. 5/5. Doctor did a quick exam and gave me a couple of options. When I asked questions he didn’t really explain the difference between them. I’ve been having issues with my health condition for 5 years and I’ve tried almost every treatment available. I’m not drug seeking or using opiates (or benzos or anything addictive) so I just want to know I’m getting something I know works for me and make an informed decision. I’m extremely proactive about my health, so I just want it straight. 4/5 I was there for about 2 hours total for rescue meds (IV) for a flare up of my health condition. This was my first time getting these specific meds and they helped but not as much relief as I’ve gotten in the past from my doctor’s office, or another ER. Still, I was finally able to sleep and that felt greatNicole Leon⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThey are always great with my kids and they took great care of my husband as well.. they are fast and kind and by far the best and quickest er visitsPamela Moffitt⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was so distraught when I injured my foot and ankle. My foot fell asleep and I didn’t know what to do, since I could not feel anything solid underfoot. Rolled ankle and fell in the restaurant . Got on a google search and found a 24 hour,7 day a week Hospital ! Clean, I was the first patient @10:00am, I was X-rayed, spoken with Dr. and treated with an ace bandage and plastic air cast. Home with rest, ice and elevate, until I see my Orthropaedic Dr tomorrow . Best neighborhood facility I’ve ever seen. And we have visited a lot of ERs.Benjamin Clarke⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCame n to get stiched up and was in and out in 20 minutesShirlee Bauer⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI was attended to very quickly.Just-Right Guttering LLC⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I was happy with the kindnessLisa Nelson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommendedfast, friendly, professional.
