Before you go to Samaritan Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Troy emergency room think.
Claire MariaI had one good experience in this ER, and mediocre otherwise so my husband and I thought we would go the other night because of my chronic pain. I went into triage, the nurse took some, not all, of my vitals. The miserable PA came into the room, didn’t introduce herself, and looked at my med list. She then did no exam, she just started lecturing about how opiates are terrible for chronic pain, they’re addictive, etc. I countered her conversation mentioning meds to get off of opiates-and in that second she decided I was drug seeking. She gave no chance to explain that I previously worked in the medical field & am educated in withdrawal medications. Her treatment was SO bad, that my husband wrote a letter and attached it to an email, sent it to the hospital and now the medical director has it. Hopefully something comes of this because they need to be audited-the hopeful result. If not I believe that PA should have her license revoked. It scares me the other patients she has and her terrible bedside manner. My husband mentioned this in the letter-he worries for the 100’s if not 1000’s of patients suffering or having bad experiences because of this on PA in the ED. She can be recognized by wearing a mask during flu season, her angry disposition, dirty blonde hair, probably 5’5” ish. Be careful going here. We’ll have to take our business all the way to Albany for St Peter’s or Albany Med. I pray they get audited.Ralph GibsonThis place will deny you from visiting your loved ones that are in their building. They refuse to let me in the room with a loved one. When someone wants someone with them in their room for comfort . The staff needs to let that person in to be with them. This place will violate your rights to have someone in your room with you. I can only hope that some day, someone will realize what goes on here and hopefully they will be forced to let patients have at least one family member or loved one be by their side. Until then, this place doesn’t deserve a good review. I certainly ain’t going to give them a good review. This place is supposed to help those who have mental issues. Denying them from having a loved one at their bedside , when they need the comfort of a familiar face and loved one. I pray this place gets closed down for the way they violate people’s rights.Phil TommasinoDo not use this emergency room. Their emergency service probably deserves 0 stars more than the 1 that I gave them. I brought my father in for an allergic reaction to a bee sting on his face. After checking in we sat in the waiting room for 20 minutes, as the reaction got worse and the swelling was spreading. He was still somehow not being seen so I had them cut the wrist band off and we left for another hospital where he received proper and immediate treatment for a life threatening condition. This place was an absolute disaster and I will never bring anyone here again regardless of how close we are to it. I have no confidence that this emergency room has the ability or resources to handle any serious situation. Please do not bring anyone to this emergency room.Zohreh RiyahiThey keep you there for a long time! You have to wait to see a doctor for a long time.don Kirk⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy sister-in-law was admitted to the ER from a nearby memory care facility. She received excellent care. Nurse Erica was especially attentive. Stayed beyond her extended night shift to share info related to care & treatment. She went above and beyond.Sean SheldonIf your’re lucky you won’t die before they see you. Just watched a bunch of people that walked out after waiting for six hours in the waiting room. This place has lots of staff walking in and out for whatever reason and barely anyone actually doing anything. Can’t even get an actual triage check. Far too few seats for the number of people waiting. And for a brand new building you’d think they’d be smart enough to use a loudspeaker to call for folks in the loud waiting area. Nope. Better hope you hear them call you.Arshad Balochwish I could give it zero star, worst place even new York city hospital are better then this hospital, they should call the doctors from 3rd world country because when they knew your history they approached on the diagnosis without too many testsAutumn CooganThey will send you away because they are “too busy”. They will shoot in the dark without doing proper testing. They will misdiagnose you. They will not give you proper care. This hospital also smells very disgusting.Mika MThis place is terrible most of the staff is very rude and unprofessional they don’t help you nor do they care they need new professional staff ASAP Miah Curtin⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIt is a very good place for surgery and other stuff too. There is a lot of Parking there.Joe SaffordWow, what a bunch of inept know-it-alls. This er is the pits. I would give 0 stars if I could. Waited over 8 hours just to be told that we were going to be waiting more. In out of triage rooms with false hope for a simple answer.E SawyerWhat happened?!? Used to be good here but now, you’re forgotten in a room and can’t find medical personnel or answers for anything. Very poor service. It would have been faster going to Albany Med.luz torresHonestly if there was a negative number I would definitely select it we waited 5 hours in the waiting room then to be told that we weren’t even on they’re tracker anymore. We’ve been here like morons watching people that have gotten here after us leave way before us and the staff here seems to be completely lost Alex S⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCame in with what turned out to be a kidney stone. Amazing nurse and all-round great service. Yes, I had to wait a bit for specialized services, but, as my thing was not life threatening, I was not expecting to be a priority for those.Bree MaranoWaited over an hour with my screaming sick infant without being seen while there was only five people in the waiting room. Worst hospital I have ever been to. I recommend never coming here.DaNON Flasher⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Sometime you get in quick other times it’s slow and drawn out.
