Before you go to Shasta Regional Medical Center, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Redding emergency room think.
Amber IbarraIf you want your loved one to live DO NOT bring here. Hospital staff does not honor the Hippocratic oath. Put my mother on comfort care when it was not necessary. They will not allow us to visit with my mother. We were kicked out because we were making my mother feel better. Every time she would wake up and start talking telling staff she wants to go home she would be sedated. Very incompassionate staff especially the social worker.Danniella Boling⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHad to bring my daughter in for a bad cut this summer. The staff was quick and so kind! They did a wonderful jobDon Johnson⭐️⭐️Doctors and staff was fantastic, When it came to billing and patient assistance they were terrible, They go off your gross income if you’re self employed so you made 50000 that year And you have 32000 in material you only made 18000 but they go off the 50000. Make sure you check your bills they sent me to collections on a bill that was paid by my insurance company.Rebekah Erickson⭐️⭐️Nurses and doctor care were amazing (they get the 2 stars, otherwise it would have been zero stars). Policy, procedure and billing sorely lacking. SRMC is an Anthem preferred provider, we knew this prior to checking in for an infection that needed antibiotics, prior to leaving the country (otherwise we would have gone to urgent care the next day). We went to SRMC instead of Mercy, because they are both in network and we figured it was 6 one half dozen to the other-apparently not! After care, we get a bill from the hospital for doctor care (something our insurance is supposed to pay). We contact the hospital and they said the ER doctor was not in the network and therefore we owed an additional $152. Wait a minute, you advertise yourself as an Anthem in network provider, but hire out of network doctors? There may have been some fine print in the stack of papers they hand to you upon check in, but at 2 am you are NOT reading fine print while waiting to receive treatment for a painful infection. it just feels like false advertising, so beware before you head in. Make sure your insurance will cover the out-of-network doctor working in the in-network ER.Christy Dickey⭐️⭐️⭐️The doctors and nurses are great. The billing Dept. has alot to be desired. They send people to collections for bills that are paid or lost for years and think it is okay. Unacceptable!!!!8Eric ElamIt was disgusting. The floor my motherinlaws room was gross black sticky grimy. And was not cleand .unorganized. Staff. Its ran like a cheap motel.Sarah Christine⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe only waited for like 1 hr which compared to Mercys typical 5 hr wait is awesome! Dr. Noah was literally the nicest Dr ever! All the staff was so nice! I will never go to Mercy ER again.GALXENothing but rude folks that judge you. Not all staff just some of the few. Lynda Pellitteri⭐️⭐️My mom is in Shasta Regional right now. The nurses and doctors and staff are really nice but the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. In my mom’s room there was an overflowing trash can, and there was garbage that was on the floor. Also some urine by the bed that was never cleaned up. Several days ago she was in another room for 2 or 3 days and I noticed the same trash on the floor all that time. I wish I could give a better review but unfortunately I cannot.Shasta Medic⭐️⭐️Over the last year I’ve seen a lot here at srmc. Depending on where you are as a patient you are either kicked out way too soon just because someone else thinks your ready to leave. Or they just stop taking care of you out of the blue because you call them on their stupid mistakes. Prefer this hospital over the other but not by much. Anything more that I need to have done will be done elsewhere. Sorry srmc you once were an excellent hospital.Jennifer TiceHad to call the ambulance 4 different times. Staff was rude, especially the secretary at visitor registration. A older Male 40ish gray hair. Refused to let us up or even offer to help find our grandpa. Then he ignored us and sat playing on his phone with headphones in. Not very becoming of someone in the hospitality or medical field.Pugboiii GetonmylevelIf there was a zero I would give the ER just that. On vacation and told the cut on my finger was Superficial despite that the tip of my finger was drooping and I could not bend my finger at all. “Interesting. Hmmm. That’s strange, Funny” we’re all comments made. I felt a tendon had been cut due to the deformality of the tip. “Superficial”. Glued it. Had no finger splints as they “ran out”. Seriously. An ER? I was over it and figured until I went home. Went to my doc at after over a week when I got home. Super pilot mode. Within a day xrays were done, finger specialist seen and tomorrow I have surgery on my finger for a split tendon! What a joke this place was! If I could find my paperwork I would bash the ER guy who was a complete moron! The other staff was the same. The Triage nurse was awesome though and seemed to know what needed to be done from the onset. If you are hurt, definitely find another route than this place. A lot of money later and now surgery? So much for that vacation!Tracy LeavittGoing to the ER when I was in crisis was a terrible experience, I was there for 2 days. There was absolutely no comparison, I was ignored the whole time.Alll the beds were full but that didn’t stop the staff from gathering at the front desk talking loudly about what they were getting from Starbucks . When they were not talking to one another they were all on there phones laughing and gossipIng. It was terrible, I would not recommend this place to anyone.Angelique relaxationWaited over 3 hrs with my crying 2 year old to be seen for nursemaid elbow while people that came after me got seen and released.Tiffany SharpI dont usually rate or review things, but this experience has me in tears at home right now. I went there for an unknown reason (turned out to be an abscess) my first one ever, no one explained to me what causes it or how to prevent it. The girl nurse was super nice, but the Dr was an unpleasant experience, he rushed to stick the needle in me and rushed to cut me open without being numb, then i layed there with a chux over buttocks crying for 10 minutes til a nurse came in to patch my wound. He didnt give me care instructions. I usually choose mercy, but they are the best and always busy so i figured give SR a shot. I WILL NEVER BE SEEN HERE AGAIN.David RossI don’t know if the rest of the hospital is fine but the ER is a nightmare. If you can, go anywhere else. They will do what they can to make you a psychiatric patient and lose paperwork when it’s convenient for them.Kimberly Macdonaldthis is the worst hospital ever. mom had surgery the nurses would not respond my momlaid in a soiled bed for hours. tbey trasferred to rehab without calling her family BEWARE AWFUL PLACEKaren BrashearSecond day visiting a family member, the hospital room is filthy. My family said the room has not been cleaned in 3 days. The food table is sticky, black sticky stuff on the floor with trash and medical stuff. Housekeeping has been requested repeatedly. The other person in the room has the same condition going on. I personally would never stay at this hospital. Is this ok with the doctors and staff??Gracie BarnettThey keep making more and more charges to my credit (my insurance should have covered my bill) and I’ve tried to get through but I keep getting hung up onKennith SchjothSo screwed, just got out with my gf who used to be a nurse, treated me like I was some druggie, coming in cause I just haven’t been able to breathe, hours after being admitted, and being talked down to, we decided it was best to leave. Hopefully the staff are typically better then what we experienced.Melisa CampbellThis is the worst emergency room ever! I’ve went in with a tumor and the ER doctor pushed on it making it explode thinking it was a hernia. I got incredibly sick and still have issues 4 months later. Last night my husband threw a disc in his back and is now unable to use his leg at all. The doctor came in, said hello and that he had pulled a muscle without even doing an examination. I doubt he even shook his hand! Never will I go there again!!!Stand Fight⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIF UNCONSCIOUS FOR ANY TIME AT ALL, BRING A LOVED ONE YOU TRUST!!!!! My mom was unconcious, I watched through the window from the ER reception area as they threw her around and beat her up, really seriously violent, slammed her head on the corner of the wall as she went around the corner, they didn’t care at all cause she was umconscious, thought no one was looking and everybody working there noticed and watched but nobody said a word just kind of went back to whatever they were doing, they were talking really bad about her, said she was on drugs, my mom is an RN and has never done drugs in her life, they refused to let me through the door out of the ER reception area, I’m yelling that’s my mom, we don’t even want to be here, well go somewhere else, my mom was unconscious and no doubt now gas a concussion, never seen anything like it, reminded me of the twilight zone,C. Stone⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCheers to Regional again. The ED is superior in service, caring & excellent care. Kuddos to the nurses & the PA Betsy Opezzo. She took the time to explain everything that was going on in a mist professional manner. I hope that we can become patients of hers on a permanent basis.Ann WestChoose Mercy. I wish I was one of the people leaving 5 stars. I went in for an allergic reaction via ambulance. I was in severe pain due to the allergic reaction but my throat was not closed up. They wheeled me into the waiting room for what felt like a long time. By the time it was my turn I was already having a panic attack. The nurse did not give me eye contact and stared at her computer screen. I tried to verbalize I was in pain. She stated “That is not what I asked you”. I said get me a different nurse and she called security. Security came and the whole staff stood in a circle accusing me of lying or being on drugs. Later the Dr.Buckley stated it was an allergic reaction but did not put it into his discharge paper work, claiming only that I had an infection (which I had too). Later I learned that they treat people like “dogs” because they think everyone is on drugs. I do not know the nurses name but she looks as if she should work for Sefora/Ulta makeup store.Jayme BayleySitting outside waiting for a friend and i have never seen so many cockroaches in my life.. this is disgusting!Baddie GonzalesSomething very personal happened with my friend, she had just got into the hospital after a suicide attempt, and a nurse asked her “so you think being a pothead is okay” this by all means is descrimination as all means and I should file a more civil complaint. Do you think my friend really deserved to be lectured after just attempting to take her life by a nurse who probably does xanax to fullfill her sad life. “Do you think it’s okay to be a pothead” idk Susan do you think it’s okay to have 3 kids but a different dad for each one. PatheticArne Quanbeck⭐️⭐️The wait time is very long and their billing system is terrible. Choose any other facility if you have the option.MNicMP⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommended5 stars for the staff.
