Silver Cross Hospital Reviews

Before you go to Silver Cross Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this New Lenox emergency room think.

Al Would rate less than one star if possible. Currently in the process of suing this hospital. An ex girlfriend of mine with mental issues would not accept that we were breaking up and called the hospital saying I was in danger. I voluntarily went to explain the situation to them. The social worker, April, then allowed me to show her my phone to prove my innocence. During a conversation with april, I received a notification and swiped it off my screen. She then violently grabbed my phone from my hand, stated that i was “deleting evidence” and that I would be placed on a 3 day hold. When I demanded to speak to the doctor and threatened legal action, Doctor Connor asked me “do you think I want to be here? My names Dr connor, this is april, goodluck suing us” and walked out slamming the door. I then sat with withdrawing heroin addicts and schizophrenics for 3 days. I have no history of psychiatric problems. Was absent from work for 3 days and not allowed to get my works contact number which made me lose my job. Absolute nightmare the lack of professionalism these people had. A friend then told me they knew this social worker Personally and believe she was a sociopath due to her violent behavior my friend had seen. These people should not be employed anywhere where the well-being of patients depend on them.Sandra Marshall⭐️⭐️The nurses were extremely nice, but can’t say the same for Dr., he showed no compassion and they lied to me about getting help with my problem. I understand that there are sicker people with bigger problems than me, but I went there looking for help and got denied!Kasia Lizak⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWith 3 kids, I have been here around 5-6 times during the last 5 years. Morning, middle of the night or late evening, I never wait long and everyone is super nice. I love this hospital. Usually I’m in and out within an hour compared to Christ Hospital’s 4-5 hrs. I highly recommend this hospital!!!Arleen Diaz Omg it took 50 minutes just to see the nurse. How much longer???? TerribleKristina Hameister They are terrible from the minute I walked in. No one was at the desk to greet me. Then I basically got the feeling my very sick kids with the flu and extreme high fevers were not sick enough to get treated. They said this is the flu. My concern was the flu was progressing into pneumonia. They had no empathy or concern and down played every symptom to get us out the door. I will never return. I will go to Munster Community where we get excellent care and treatment.Veronica Blackmon Dont go they are terrible staff no empathy for the sick. The E.R supervisor hung up on me when I complained about the nurses. I spoke to someone over that department she said she will go up and apologize to my family member Never showed up. I will never go there never. Go at your own risk.Thomas Gierach My mom usually goes to Silver Cross Hospital. I took her to Ingalls Urgent Care tonight, because I wasn’t sure she needed to be admitted to a hospital. The doctor says she needs to be admitted, but they can’t take her to Silver Cross by ambulance. I would have to drive her. I call Silver Cross seeing if she can be admitted immediately upon arrival. They tell me that if she gets the paperwork from the doctor at Ingalls, then she will be admitted right away. I drive my mom to Silver Cross. They tell me they need to do everything all over again sans blood test. They lied!!!!!!!!! I am never bringing her to this hospital again.lil Nancy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCame in to deliver my baby, the nurses and staff were very helpful and nice, so far best hospital I’ve delivered in, the delivery room was big and I most definitely felt comfortable in my room after that very attentive staff and food is pretty good for being hospital food , would definitely recommend Dunia Brzen The facility might be nice, and that’s only because it’s still relatively new, but the doctors are completely incompetent. I took my grandmother there because she had been feeling ill for about 2 weeks and wouldn’t tell us because she didn’t want us to worry. As soon as we found out, however, we immediately took her to the emergency room at silver cross, which ended up being a terrible mistake. After waiting over 2 hours, the doctor finally saw us. They ran some tests, concluded she had pneumonia and sent us home with a prescription for antibiotics. After about 2 weeks of taking the antibiotics, not only did my grandmother not feel any better, she actually felt worse. Upon finding this out, I decided to take her to Loyola. After waiting only 25 mins, they called my grandmother in to see the doctor. We told him what was going on and he ran some tests. After waitingfor only about an hour, the doctor came in with the results, which were not good. It turned out my grandmother had leukemia. Thankfully though, we caught it in enough time, she started treatment right away and she is now in full remission. Now, I’m not a doctor but from what I understand, leukemia is a sickness that can be easily diagnosed by running a few simple tests. In fact it’s so easy to diagnose, that even a first or second year med student should be able to diagnose it with relative ease. The fact that an experienced doctor at a brand new hospital could miss it is completely unacceptable and stands as a testament to the widespread incompetence that is pervasive at silvercross. If you really care about your family and actually want them to survive any illness that might befall them, please take my advice and do not take them to silver cross. I understand doctors are human and make mistakes, but when it comes to something like a person’s life, doctors should be double and triple checking their work, and mistakes like that are unacceptable and just should not happen. It could have cost my grandma her life.sheena masson There’s nothing good about this hospital. After waiting 4 hours to see someone, the doctor wouldn’t give us the necessary tests to figure out what was wrong with my daughter. Blood test/ultrasound/ANYTHING other than a urine culture. Which I’d told her they did 3 Times this month, results were fine every time. She refused to investigate any further. So she repeated the same test my daughter had a negative on a few days prior. Don’t go here. They work the night shift for a reason. I grew up in oak lawn and I’m use to good doctors. Should’ve went to Christ, disappointed I didn’t.C J If I could give negative stars I would. It took over 2 hours to be seen by a doctor, even though we told the nurse the pain level was 8 out of 10. No one every even came to check until I started screaming. Go somewhere elseAmanda Schoenecker⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had both of my boys there July 2016 an Oct 2017. i had nothing but wonderful nurses an drs. i had to go in for alot of test an ultrasounds alot an everyone was so nice to me. im not sure how the other departments are but i know labor an delivery unit is awesome.N marie They don’t even treat you like a person, they treat you according to what insurance you carry. It’s gross.Andrea Mason 0 STARS,ELLEN CURRY⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedEvery nurse that serviced Rm 4211 from Kelsey, Julia, and Alyssa, to Deanna, Keri and anybody else that i may have forgotten, may God seriously bless your lives. I had the sweetest most lively, yet caring group that i could have ever asked for, they became like sisters for a moment, especially when i couldnt do anything for myself for a moment. They did not judge or critisize me for having to take it all off because i was over heating, they fanned me and cold compressed me and truely cared for me. This is a model of what every hospital in Chicago should imitate. #CARE! Also big ups to the emergency team, even though they were CRAZY BUSY, they did not miss a beat. Just because you didnt have a room did not mean you were not being cared for. Blood test, ekgs, cat scans all from the triage room, talk about getting the job done! I love all of y’all for that, i truely felt cared for. Now my doctors, Dr. ELLENS AND Dr. REDDY, my friends for life! And the endocrinologist whose name I can’t remember, they are a dynamic trio! They made me laugh and smile through the entire ordeal and not once look down their noses at me or rush me to get to the next patient. They had a seat and spoke with me like a friend or brothers who cared for their little sister. The endocrinologist did not come in my room ready to cut my thyroid out (i have had so many doctors use the knife as the cure) but not him. I appreciated that. Throughout my entire stay here, i felt a part of a tight knit family and not a patient. I would recommend Silver Cross to anybody who needed proper loving care. Thanks again guys, you are the best! Oh one more thing, thanks for visiting Zoey! You are such a precious part of my recovery and stay purple!
