Brian Baar⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff and Hospital both were great. I will go again if needed.Dawn BarrettDisappointed in this hospitals practice of misleading patients about being in network with UNITED HEALTHCARE! I fell one night and just wanted to get checked out to be safe. I called the hospital to confirm that I was in network they said yes. I went over and when I got my paperwork to fill out I confirmed AGAIN in registration that all I would owe is my $200 copay and AGAIN was told YES! I paid my copay before leaving and then promptly within a short period of time received a bill for the radiologist and then a bill from the ER doctor which between both it was over $2,000. I fought paying this every way I knew how but I lost. Through the process I learned that THIS IS THEIR PRACTICE of hiring doctors that are NOT contracted with the insurance they take. My husband just had to have out patient surgery for a biopsy and everything was set up at southbay hospital but because of my experience he decided to double check that all doctors were also in network with our United healthcare and the anesthesiologist was NOT! We have decided to no longer use this hospital!! TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN….. when patients come to your facility as “in network” it is reasonable to assume the medical treatment is covered under our copay for hospital. You claim to be a hospital not a hotel and we are not looking for a room for the night BUT MEDICAL TREATMENT!! Which a room or gurney in my case is ALL that’s covered if you go there and you are lucky. I was treated on a gurney in the hall along with many others. To be fair to your patients YOU SHOULD REQUIRE YOUR PHYSICIANS TO BE CREDENTIALED WITH THE INSURANCES YOU “SAY” YOU ARE IN NETWORK WITH!! It is UNREASONABLE for patients to have to ask everyone that comes to their room or gurney in the hall if they are in network before they treat them. Why not only hire physicians that are willing to get credentials with atleast the major insurances you say you are in network with ????Chris TubbsI was recently rushed to this hospital due to a steel beam landing on my left foot. I rode in a ambulance to get here. They sat me in a wheel chair for hours before anyone would see me. I was later given some pain killers and then an xray. After the xray I was put back in my wheelchair and left in the hallway for a couple of hours. I was told I didn’t have any broken bones but none of the nurses would allow me to see my xrays. I flew back home(Houston) and saw my doctor and was given another xray. My foot is broken and I have some torn ligaments. I do NOt recommend anyone going to this hospital!Bruce ManesRude & slowsean mcparland⭐️⭐️⭐️I fell and went in there I didn’t have to wait at all they brought me right in for an emergency room it impressed meTod WilcoxThe staff is not friendly and they treat the patients like they are just cattle. And they are not very good at treating patients they are more concerned with profit. Your typical emergency room visit here will cost you with out insurance is 5000 dollars and only about 5 percent of that is for your treatment the rest is hospital fees.
