Before you go to Southlands, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Aurora emergency room think.
Stacy FlemingI took my son there with severe pain after being recommend to bring him in from a conversation with one of there nurses. 1am and only one other patient there. Go there if you want to feel like an inconvenience to them. Started with the security guard who just looked at us as my son struggled to even get out of the car to the admin girl who could of cared less (unless it was whispering to the nurse before we were discharged about our $1100 due) To the team that seemed put out for us being there. There lack of care was unbelievable. Did my sons tattoos make them think we weren’t worthy to be treated there. It is very sad to watch your kid apologizing to them for taking their time to “help” him. Try across the street and hopefully their emergency hospital will treat you with some compassion and concern for your well being. Please no need for your auto pilot answer to the not as positive reviews, clearly you only care about the few good ones. Should of read these before choosing to go there. They’re responses make total sense as to how they treat people.D P⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy husband was having a heart attack and the team there was truly amazing. They saved his life THANK YOU! The doctor (did not get her name) the nurses and the ambulance team we can not thank you enough!Eda Maffia⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedNever encountered a more professional staff than the STIC ICU staff, We were briefed right along with the Doctors and Nurses who would be continuing the care started in Ocean Springs Ms ER and transferred to USA ER by life flight, this inclusion as our Son was transferred out of the ER to ICU made it much easier to grasp the severity and expectations going forward,…Bill Burger JrMy other half developed the flu just before New Years Eve and Southlands ER was the closest place I could find open being from out of town. The first visit did not last long; though getting a prescription filled New Years Eve or Day was even more difficult. Our return visit on Jan. 2 was beyond aggravating. My other halfs symptoms became much worse and the ER staff were less than helpful. She was having an very difficult time swallowing and a sore throat; however even after repeated requests for more assistance it proved futile. Care and compassion were completely absent from the staff and physician. Do not ask me to call a patient representative; since looking at other reviews it seems you need one onsite or need to hire and train your people on care and compassion.Simonette WalkerGot sent here from the urgent care for X-ray. I received a $2600 bill just for the one hour hospital stay? The bill does not even include Dr. fee and radiographs. Went to see my chiropractor and I was told they didn’t even do the X-ray On upper spine where it’s most needed when it comes to vehicular accident. That visit ate up my medpay and I just started my treatment. Very disappointed how greedy people are now a days. I feel that our medical industry in not focus on helping people instead they are there to protect their license and charge however they want. Just sad.Amanda White⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFinally an ER I can go to and be treated with respect. Dr. Tran and her nurse Christina were top notch. They listened to me and didn’t judge, which is rare now days. Thank you ladies for your amazing service and for making me feel comfortable. It’s appreciated so much! 🙂Michael Masi⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis place is amazing and they took very good care of me!Tammy Boudreau⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe care of the nurses, sonographer, radiologist, and Doctor was amazing. They really care about you and your treatment and getting results. Very professional and caring. Short wait time and clean facility.Samantha Price⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBest staff ever! I am so thankful for the nurses, doctors, and ultrasound tech! I went in early in the morning with the worst pain in my life, and thanks to them I was feeling better in no time. They are by far the most competent and compassionate staff and would highly recommend them for any emergency need!Heather YoungI’ve had good experiences here in the past. Tonight I went and am pregnant with twins. I have had severe vomiting for the past few days and have really bad cramping this evening. After having a late miscarriage a few months ago the cramping and dehydration were concerning. I was taken to a room and told to change into a gown and the nurse would be back with a blanket. She never returned with one even though it was snowing outside and freezing in the room. my pulse reader and oxygen sensor went crazy beeping and continues flashing orange and red lights with no response from the nurses who it appeared I was one of the only patients as they were all sitting at a desk. I was taken back for an ultrasound after an hour there and told that I was not allowed to see the screen or ask questions and the dr. would follow up within 10-15 mins with me. she turned the monitor out of my view then silently probed away. Once that was done I was taken back to the room and left again with the dinging computer for an hour before they came in to place an iv. The nurse asked me if she missed if I would let her poke me again. I hate needles and said I’d rather not. She came back with a bottle of water and said orally hydrate and left. I sat there for another hour before I got up pulled finger cuff (still beeping warning signs with not one person checking on it) I put my clothes back on and asked about my results. I was told the dr was on the phone and after ANOTHER 20 minutes the dr. Came in and said they could not get a clear view. I asked if babies were ok? She said there are twins both alive and to follow up with kaiser. The nurse came in after about another 20 minutes to give me a nausea prescription and discharge papers. I have never been treated that badly before anywhere. The nurses complete lack of attention to dinging monitors, the ultrasound tech flipping the screen saying I could not even see it, the lack of follow up or how are you doing in here.. and the fact that there were no other patients to be seen. I was friendly, and really didnt expect much- a blanket and shutting off the monitors would have sufficed. I didnt feel good, that’s what the er is for. I never got a answer as to what is going on and just feel like I was freezing, kept out way past my bedtime and miserable with a really uncaring staff for absolutely nothing. I am appalled with the treatment I received and will never return here.Diaz TattoosA 20 minute visit in the main room not even a separate patient room, a foot xray and one tylenol equals $4000???????? Dont go to this place they just want to fill there pockets!!! I always wondered how they got by here by always being empty but this is how! If you have insurance they will take advantage of your insurance company and if you dont they really get you….also these reviews on here are so fake they just try to offset all the reviews that say the exact same thing as me!Bouchaib ElkounjWorst staff horrible experience…I wish I can give them -5 stars The worst care and customer service ever very disappointing… if u ask a simple question they bounce you between nurses and front desk people and none of them knows how the system actually works. They are not willing to help or even listen they get frustrated with you and give you attitude!Melissa Paschal⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went in to hospital with chest pains , feeling very weird and not good last night…. the staff just jumped right into action . Making my husband, 3 year old and I feel much better about everything. They found the big problem within minutes , it seemed, and had all other tests done with in 3 or 4 hours! I did not spend 3 hours in the waiting room , like I would have any where else! We will always always take our family to be cared for by these amazing people ! Special shout out to my nurse , I can’t for the life of me remember his name, but will remember his face, and can’t find it on my paper work , but he was the only man on duty last night at around 10 to when we left after like 2 am. He really eased my fears and my 3 year old daughter and her crazyness did not bother him one bit, he just thought she was the funniest silly kid and so did the other lady caring for us. The doctor was so sweet and had great bed side manner and quick actions to care for a scared mama ! I got 3 kids who need me . my hubby made me go to the hospital, to YOUR hospital because of the amazing care and kind hearts that work there thanks to all you wonderful kind people Jay Wyman⭐️⭐️good care, but they charge nearly double that of any other nearby emergency care, id avoid unless you have no other option, or deep pockets. Had an almost identical stay time/treatment and issue with another clinic in the area and payed less than half compared to the bill from here.Jared Quintana“No matter how serious your emergency, Southlands ER has you covered.” .. 10 minutes of face time, a phone number, and a bill is what I got.. literally 13 minutes and the first opportunity she had. “I can’t help you, let me go grab you a phone number”.Meli AldamaThis Place Lacked any Attention to The Patients . My husband has extreme back/leg pain and was immediately told it was just a pulled muscle and dr. Krieger tried sending him home with just ibuprofen . My husband insisted that he wanted and MRI because he really needed to know what was going on with him the pain was just excruciating. She insisted that wasn’t nessecary because it’s just a pulled muscle. And she knew she wasn’t going to find anything anyways .After countless times of begging and asking her to just do it they finally found out he has a herniated disk and now it needs surgery . I won’t go back to this place ever as for they have no consideration into looking for the actual problem . There just as bad as university hospital .Sara West Daniels⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis is our go to ER. Dr. Viscardi and Nurse Laura were wonderful today. We brought a very sick and scared little boy named Jack in to be seen. He was terrified and they made our visit so accommodating, making sure he had snacks, popsicles and fluids. Warm blankets and cartoons. By the time we got over to the MRI for a brain scan, he was totally relaxed. They let him see another little girl having one and showed pictures the machine would take. He thought it was a spaceship adventure. I have also been to this ER for a miscarriage 2 years back and had the same amazing nurse Laura! Thanks for the great care.Steven Wald⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have been here twice and they are great! Fast, no wait, and they helped a lot!Erik BentleyDoesn’t matter if you have insurance or not at this place. You give them your insurance information and the don’t submit to the insurance company but instead come after you for full payment and then tell you it’s your responsibility to submit to the insurance and then send you to collections. Never seen any health care provider work in this way before. Without government subsidies they would go out of business.William PronkoThere are bills more bills and even more bills! What fun for a family!Mr. Bautista⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery respectful and attentive . They take everything serious and make you feel welcome .Amanda Brown⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWonderful experience. We were seen right away without any wait. The doctors were efficient and so kind to my son. They were very thorough in their explanation of what was wrong and so patient with a screaming baby. Highly recommended.Pogisa Faumuina⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedGreat service! Staff is very attentive and helpfulGina CacciatoreBrought my mom in to get fluids because she’s been sick. Had to remind the staff to get her fluids. Then had to get them when they were done. Wasn’t the best feeling hearing them tell you they forgot about you and they just got busy. I work in the medical field and was not impressed. Won’t return here and defiantly won’t recommend.Tivionne GoodloeWe was at the hospital and paramedic Laura, was being beyond rough giving my mother her IV . my mom asked if she could take it out because it was hurting and she refused to .Sara Coffman⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have taken my daughter there a couple times with croup in the middle of the night for breathing treatments. EVERY time our experience has been WONDERFUL. The staff (check-in, registration, nurses, physicians) are all amazing and made my daughter feel special. I have seen a level of caring and professionalism here that is above and beyond!Alyssa Ferree⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThis is by far the best ER experience I have ever had. They are efficient and they seem to care more than the drs offices and hospitals I have had experience with.Mark Rea⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went for an exam to see if I had a clot in my leg and saw Dr. Davidson. He was awesome. He went above and beyond what most ER Dr’s would do to as he put it “ease my mind”. He said he could tell I was concerned and he wanted to make me feel at ease. Who does that anymore? Great place, highly recommend. I was in and out in no timeKristy Mata⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedFrom the time we walked through the door to the time we were discharged, all the staff made sure every inch of the way was as pleasant and comfortable as possible. This was one of the most efficient visits to an ER we’ve had in quite some time & fully recommend Southlands ER to anyone needing emergent care in the area.brent rinehartI was very disappointed with my visit at Southlands ER tonight. Without getting into great detail about my ER visit, the physician I had tonight made me feel very uncomfortable with her remarks And i felt my Character was being questioned. She was just extremely unprofessional how she handled my care. Just really sad that one physician can make the whole staff get a rating of one star. My wife has been treated at Southlands ER numerous times the past two months with exceptional care. That’s why I’m shocked with the unprofessionalism that the doctor Had towards me. Sad to say my wife and I will never return to Southlands ER.Jess Graf⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have had to be in the ER twice in a week. Both times everyone who treated me were warm pleasant to talk to. They each answered all of our questions in a way we could relate with and never “talked down” to us. They also have the imagining center attached so I didn’t have to go anywhere for my CatScan which was nice. Although, I don’t really ever want to have to go back, if an ER is needed in our future we will absolutely use Southlands ER.Mohamed Kariyeh⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedNice place and nice staff!Ana Velazquez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedJust left, had to bring my daughter in for severe ear pain since it is at night no doctors office is open they treated me and my other children so amazing made us feel comfortable saw her right away the staff is amazing the doctor is amazing I have never had a better emergency experience I will definitely come back if I ever need to!Casie Levi⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have been there a few different times & I’ve been impressed each time. The doctors, nurses & front desk staff have been knowledgeable, attentive & very genuine.Rachelle H⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have went in 3 times and they were kind and caring. I am allergic to a lot of Medications and they helped me without making me feel bad like other hospitals do. It is the most different ER I have ever been too. They care about people here.Mrs. SmithI was hopeful to have a great ER experience after they put on such a great health fair when they opened. My son came down with the Croup over the holidays so we naturally decided to take him here, since it was close and we had felt good about the facility. We have three children and have had visited many ER’s across the country for the Croup, so we knew about how much this visit should cost. It was a standard visit for the Croup and nothing was given to my son that would have made this an extreme circumstance. When the bill came it was as much as my major surgeries had been. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous! We wrote a letter to appeal but they denied it sighting, that “they had to cover their costs.” He didn’t receive any special treatment and we were not given first priority, like they claimed we had. Wait time was average for an ER. We will NEVER be going to this facility again. I would recommend you stay away from visiting this ER unless you like to pay 3X as much as you have in the past for similar situations. The doctors were more than capable and the facility was nice.Shannon Soliz⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBrought my husband in to this facility, the staff was amazing, we didn’t have to wait long, they did all the test just make sure he was diagnosed correctly. Would recommend it to any one to come here.Janette Bennett⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent care from every member of the staff from registration to discharge! NO wait time. Was about 60 minutes total trip, to ER & back. Definitely recommend !Kristen⭐️⭐️⭐️The doctor was Amazing and very knowledgeable! The two nurses were not very friendly at all and acted as if my daughter was a burden. The lady at the front desk lost my daughter’s Photo ID an when asked about it, she kept stating she gave it back and did not have it. She refused to get up out of her chair and look for it. I called back 30 minutes later and advised her that it was a paper (temp) ID. They found it and the lady apologized that she missed it and would have it at the front desk for my daughter. She goes back to pick it up today and they have misplaced it AGAIN! So at this time, my daughter has no driver’s license because they are incapable of keeping track of something. I have seen an ER packed full of people run much smoother.Dean Stephens⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have gone here twice and both times there was no wait time. The staff was great in diagnossing my issues and were quick with the solution.nancy suggs⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommendedi walked through the door and literally within 2 minutes i was registered and a nurse was right there with a wheelchair taking me to my room. very fast, very clean and comfortable, and the staff was professional and simply outstanding!Joseph Warner⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBeen here twice now. Staff is amazing, wait times are almost nonexistent and the facility itself is very nice and comfortable compared to other medical facilities I’ve been to.Rick Combs⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedPlease don’t go to the ER if you got the sniffles or a scrape. Only go for an emergency. People shouldn’t have to wait for someone to get treated for a snotty nose when their head is cracked open.boonedog712Put your life at risk going to this place. DO NOT GO HERE IN AN EMERGENCY!!!Stephanie M.Was there in early 2015. I went in with chest tightness..had been having this tightness for a couple of days, so my employer told me to go get it checked out. I drove myself there. They poked me 12 times to start an IV. Sent me to radiology and the tech there didn’t get the syringe attached correctly to the buff cap. 90% of the dye trickled down my skin instead of into my vein. Waited forever for them to send me to Parker Adventist. I was stable. The Dr was condescending. He told me that they would be booked up with stress tests so I needed to be admitted so I would be a priority. Was at this ER for 5 hours before the ambulance came to transport. The nurses were busy eating and chatting about their health insurance benefits. One of the few times in five hours that they came to check on me, I had to remind them that they still had not given me the aspirin that was sitting on top of the IV pump. Meanwhile the nurses were chatting it up with Dr Ammon and he was commenting on why he wasn’t wearing his shoes out at the nurses station as well as talking about his dinner. The next morning there were only three patients including me for stress tests that day. I could have gone home and went in for the stress test the next day. Now I get a bill for the ambulance ride 19 months later for $1100…for a transfer that was supposed to be FREE. I’ve been in healthcare for over 20 years. I know what good, fair, honest patient care should be and it’s not here. Glorified urgent care at best. I had no cardiac symptoms after examination, turned out to be muscle strain/cartilage strain in my ribs from shoveling snow. Just a way for them to make some money.Tessa GreenlyWent there for a simple flu bug and ended up with my blood pressure so low that I could hardly stand up. Their response was to take Tylenol and rest while they terrorize me. I will never go back to them again.Charlie Hambrick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent to the er yesterday and walked in and they took me right back. The doctor even came in and saw me in the triage room. Highly recommend this er.Jason MartinThe place is STUPID EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ***DO NOT GO HERE*** I took a bungee cord to the eye and was is a lot of pain. Happened late at night and couldn’t drive far. I was there for 3 hours because it was so “busy” but only 5 cars in the lot. No more rooms available so they left me in the initial exam room. People in and out and they did not really care that I needed NO light. I was there 3 hours. The nurses were nice enough They only gave me 2 doses of pain meds (no IV or anything) and 2 anti nausea pills. $9,243.28 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes that is right! Robbery! I called them and they asked me why I am worried about it when it is covered by insurance! They stood by their billing and acted like this was normal. I was furious. I will never step foot in here.Tyler Lawson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommended*3rd paragraph for Nurse & MD review* Last month I had been stung by a Mud Dauber Wasp on the back of my right thigh. Well i began to have a Large Local Reaction which quickly turned into a Systemic Reaction and had spread all over my body. Having stabbing pains in my neck and back i finnaly went to my Kaiser doctors to see what they could do as i have gone into Anaphalactic Shock 10 years ago due to my body over reacting. Anyways they took pictures, ran a EKG, gave me bendryl and a Zantac and shipped me out…. Fast forward to last night, week 4 my body was about 80% coverd in huge red welts, having severe joint, kidney pain, feeling faint, heart feeling like it was going to jump out of my chest to go join a rock band. Just on the tiping line of going into full blown anaphalaxis! My wife and son drove me to the Southlands ER as i was in no condition to do so my self… I explaind my my symptoms and i hadnt even finished my first page of paper work and they called me into the back right away. I was greeted two nurses and the MD on site at the time. I had explained my everything that was happening (note being so physically and mentally exhausted i could only imagine i was all of the place and freaked out) these were compatant attentive individuals who took the time to piece together my, all over the place information. They had me in my room and placed on a IV, steroid, antihistamine drip, drew blood to run labs so incredibly fast. They ran my EKG as well as called my Primary Insurance to inform them i need to see my primary care asap and possibly a cardiologist. Mean while i was resting my my eyes and very comfortible. The Nurses and Doctors are very upfront, respectful, and knowledgeable. When it was time for the MD shift change he explained thoroughly to the incoming MD of my situation and she was on top of it (like jelly on toast) and i was given the same awesome treatment from here as well! My Wife, son, and I would like to thank the entire staff who to care of me last night 8/2/16 – 8/3/16 early this morning! You are amazing and prevented of what could have been far worse outcome. I couldnt have recieved better care anywhere else! I do apologize for not remembering any names which is why date is posted. Thank you!Lika⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe best ER ever Ryan Money⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedStaff was very nice, fast, and professional.Chevy #2 the English Bulldog Mr. Handsome⭐️⭐️Never went because I didn’t hear any compassion or concern over the phone prior to going
