Yonas Habtemariam Waited/waiting for almost six plus hours without any type of notification to anything. Did a vital update and the reason I’m here got worse and still nothing. Someone could die here waiting for them to do literally anything.SaCaura Jones I wish I could rate zero! I was in a car accident and sat in the ER for hours waiting for x-rays that I NEVER received. Such a saddddd so called establishment. Never ever go there. It’s useless. Headed to Mercy.Kim Barrett I wish there was a negative 1 10 hours, X-rays, the “nurse” that tried to put the IV in, blew my vein along with everyone else that she touched, I was harassed NON STOP by a man that was discharged at 11 am and no one did anything to remove him, he was DEMANDING a cab. My ribs are not broken, CT scan incomplete because after 10 hours I had to leave because my head was pounding so badly as my blood pressure continued to rise. I decided that I prefer to die at home I will call my request the CT tomorrow and if needed any other tests. This is the WORST ER in the world. I called from home to let them know that I left and WHY I left, listing the above reasons and she said “ok”. Caring, Courteous Staff my BEEHINDDoug B The woman answering the phone in the ER was very rude and un informative . But yes VERY VERY RUDE! I wouldn’t take my dog there, the care has always been poor.Allison Scott Save yourself time and let down by going to any other emergency room. Went in lastnight with a suspected spider bite the nurse practitioner on the floor said that its not a spider bite but doesnt know what it was and sent me on my way with some script for a cream.. mercy got me fixed up this morning.llp87 I’ll start with everything that isn’t related to the medical care that my mother has received. My mother has been in the ICU for about 5 days now. I’ve basically been living here and so far I’ve seen: At least 5 homeless people (unbeknownst to anyone else here) set up camp in the family lobby and stay overnight. I was here 3 days before someone found out and told security, but other people kept coming back. A few of them became irate and made threats. The security protocols are a joke. People aren’t required to check in at the entrance or show ID. Since several of us have complained, they’re “getting a handle on it”. The family lobby on the ICU floor isn’t properly maintained and the floors are disgusting. There’s some kind of concoction stuck to parts of the floor, and the carpet is heavily stained throughout. If homeless people were residing here, it makes you think. I have a huge family. My mom has 8 sisters and brothers. They all have kids, and a lot of their kids have kids. Of course they don’t all visit at once, but it gets crowded. We borrowed some chairs from the surgical lounge because it’s usually empty. Some frantic female staff member just bombarded us, rearranged our whole set-up, and yanked the chair that we borrowed away from us (while my wife is sleeping mind you) as if that chair was going to be crucial medical equipment used to save someone’s life. When I asked her if everything was ok, all she said was “yeah… we just have furniture missing that we need back.” Please view a picture of the empty room and how much that chair was needed. I found her demeanor to be highly disrespectful. My mom could die in this hospital due to the state she’s in, and she threw a tantrum about a chair that nobody cares about! I didn’t catch her name but she had on dark blue scrubs, which makes me think she was an RN. The bathrooms have been disgusting, but what do you expect when you’re housed with homeless folks? There was blood on the walls and fecal matter on the floor. We complained and they cleaned them, but they did a pretty half ____ job, and only clean them once a day. The best thing that this hospital has going for itself is the gift shop and cafeteria, which serves great food. They give the cooks some freedom to try their own recipes and I had some of the best wings here at 12 am the other night. As far as my mother’s medical treatment goes: Most of the doctors have been pretty empathetic and have explained everything to my family and I as thoroughly as they could. There was one who lacked any sort of bedside manner, but I made a complaint and he turned himself around The nurses have been phenomenal. I’m an active duty Soldier and I thought that I might not make it back here to see her while she was alive or conscious and they did everything they could to let me know (sympathetically) the reality of the situation, but that they would do everything they could for her. She’s currently still in the fight, and her nurses are fighting just as hard!Aaron Wood Terrible experience. We showed up at 4:30 on a Wednesday (after going to the urgent care and the doctor called them ahead of time). This was for my wife’s broken arm. After about an hour of waiting, they finally called her over to do blood pressure, then sit back down.. Another hour or so and we went to the triage room (waited for 30 mins inside the room) and a nurse came in, asked questions, finally got one pain pill.. Then had to go back to the waiting room – the nurse assured us it would be very fast, “just a few minutes”. It was about 7pm at this point and only got more crowded.. We asked for an update and they said they have no idea how long it will be.. They just said “you have a few people ahead of you” but couldn’t tell us how many or a rough wait time. We asked again about 2 HOURS later and got the same answer.. Now every seat was filled and we never saw anyone go back.. They said they just had no rooms. Finally after another 2 hours it looked like no end in sight so we just decided to leave.. That was at 11pm – nearly 7 total hours of waiting and no appearance of getting any care. Oh and the waiting room didn’t look very clean – saw cigarette butt under a chair, a bunch of trash, loose play doh on the floor.. In 7 hours only one cleaning person came by and they just grabbed big trash items, didn’t even look at the rest of it.. One good thing – they had hand sanitizing stations and tissue boxes in a lot of locations (including the front desk, triage room, and multiple in the waiting room), so that was nice. We went to Northwest (Christian Hospital) on north Lindbergh the next day and it was much better (although it was in the morning and not as crowded).Charlie Baltimore I came to this hospital because my Dr referred me. The emergency room waiting area is horrible they tried to put an IV in my arm and send me back out into the waiting room. I refused because its not clean and I had already had enough going on. The waiting was the worst I ended up being admitted and I didn’t get any rest because the workers decided to stand outside my door and have loud conversations. One tech dropped all the tools on the floor and thought she was going to take my temperature without properly cleaning the machine first I went off and definitely let a supervisor know. SSM just needs help PERIODT!! Yes I put a T on the end!!!Tyrel Ell We have been waiting since 12:00 noon to be seen. My mother saw the doctor at 3:00 and have been waiting in the ER until 11:38pm with a catheter in her arm trying to find out why she is having her symptoms. I get that it’s the ER, but people shouldn’t wait hours and hours in discomfort. We’ve seen 8-10 people leave because the wait is so long. SSM DePaul should do better.CaTasha Baughman They wouldnt do any of the necessary test for to find the sorce of my pain, after waiting over 7 HOURS! Christina Cole Been here 6 hours.. I’m in so much pain out takes everything to not scream out loud.. They don’t care..they are in no hurry.. Leaving heart patients, respitory failure patients and people in extreme pain and waiting in a horrible waiting room.. Do not come hereRobyn McNeal We came directly from urgent care and still had tho wait. After sitting over 5hours yes 5 hours we left.Shaneir Henderson Horrible! People been in here waiting 7 hours? This is unacceptablenutanvams gunti My wife had a severe neck pain and couldn’t move. We came to this emergency care and they have not looked at us for many hours. The facility is severely understaffed with nurse practitioners.Melissa Mosley This hospital sucks i been here since midnight with my son and we are still here and havent been seen yet my son came into the emergency room via ambulance with chest pains and still nothing please do not come here you might not make it home its just sad especially for those without insurance once they found out he didn’t have insurance everything slowed down with him being seen so sadSue Tolley⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery nice people from receptionist to the care the nurses gave my husband.
