Before you go to St. Joseph Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Orange emergency room think.
Toni Demarco⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe nurses and doctors were very nice and helpful, I would go here again if needed,Eryn TurnerWe were in town and because this hospital was in-network we used their ER facilities when I was sick. I was told I had one illness, but when I asked why my pain was in another location I was told that I’d receive an extra dose of dilaudid & given an rx for norco. The doctor did not even look at the area I was complaining about and completely missed that I had a case of shingles. I was given 10 minutes in my room after the dose of dilaudid, then wheeled to the curb by myself COMPLETELY out of it to get an uber back to my hotel. A few days later I got home and visited my PCP because I was in such intense pain, and he was easily able to diagnosis my shingles…unfortunately the anti-viral medication works best when given within 48 hours (and because the St. Joseph ER quickly shooed me out the door without listening to where my real pain was coming from, I missed that window). I am still struggling with nerve pain related to their haste in getting me out the door. I filed a complaint with the hospital, but it has been weeks and I’ve heard no word from them, not even the promised letter in the mail. I would absolutely NOT recommend this hospital’s Emergency Room services if you plan on being diagnosed accurately, would like to safely make it back to your hotel room/home, or would like follow up when you have issues with the care you received.Love RobedThe ER staff is the worse … they have no kindness towards the patients that come in for help! Even just to ask a question…. it’s like pulling teeth. They ignore you … while you’re at the window. They could at least Acknowledge and show some respect like your human and let the patient’s know that you are busy (and say Please hold on) not with an attitude and have you standing and waiting! I will never come here again! Worst place to go for helpNancy StiefelIf no stars are an option id do it, brought my 75 year old grandma in for vomiting and other issues, with a fevor. And other issues got the paperwork done blood drawn and we have yet to go back!!! Asked an hour and half latter still no room, and no answerBrooke FuentesI was here last week at 16 weeks pregnant I fell down the stairs. My ankle was swollen and black and I couldn’t walk. I was at the hospital for 3 hours in the waiting room where we asked and a nurse said I was next. Half an hour later we asked again and the nurse said I was put in a room. No one came to get me or see me. They took me for xrays pregnant and didnt inform the technician I was pregnant. (For those that arent aware you need to be double shielding or avoid xrays when pregnant.) Then they took the xrays in the wrong position and wanted more. After 8 hours in my room I left home on crutches and being told I needed 2 more xrays which I refused. I had to force them to check my baby for a heart beat and bleeding. This isnt the first bad experience here. Just go to another hospital.Lawrence StricklandI have spent a lot of time in hospital over the past 2 years. One parent with stage 4 brain cancer and one parent with stage 4 breast cancer. Throughout this journey I have been in 15 different hospitals. This being the absolutely worse one. Starting with the ER and long term care. One nurse in particular in the cancer ward. I asked to speak to the doctor she refused to send a message to him. It was around 4:30 pm there were two nurses in the room talking about a surgery planned for the next day. I asked her to explain what was going on she refused to. As a family we were not informed. They would order procedures in the AM and they would not be done until midnight or later. Only due to the fact of the family having to continue pestering the extremely dismissive staff would they get it done. There was at least two nurses that did there job and over achieved in there duties. The rest of the staff seem to do the bare minimum with an attitude. It feels like you are at the DMV. I would definitely not recommend this place to an enemy. If you have any other choice please to yourself and family a favor and stay away from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange!Alaina MartinezWas going to leave a bad review however if you read the others, they speak for themselvesMike SUpdated 8/01/19 I have been waiting in the ER for 5 hours with no updates. Everyone in ER has cycled through over 2 times while I have been waiting here…. meaning 2 times the waiting room have been seen in 5 hours but not me. I was told I would get an update 20 minutes ago….. DID NOT HAPPEN PLUS NO HANDICAP PARKING FOR ER INKY IF TOU PAY FOR. VALET ITHWRWUSE UT US LUKE A 1 MILE WALK. NOT GOOD FOR DISABLED PEOPLE Thank you Dr. Merin, Julia and the other nurses for doing an awesome job taking care of a 1 in a million case yesterday/today with 1 in a Million care. Much thanks for the best 12(the 4 hour wait time in the lobby was rough though) hours I have ever spent in an ER!:-) (there have been many) St. Joseph’s is lucky to have you as am I, THANK YOUTherese ThompsonCame with panic attack. And ensonia worsening every dau. Doctor said I’ll give you something in the hospital and write you a prescription. Nurse came in with no medication to take but he prescriptio. and accused me of faking a panic attack and said I have no sympathy. Re security guard spoke with me roughly so did the doctor. The Er Staff should work in the county jail would fit their bedside manner more. I also called for the hospital chaplain witch they also refused.Nicole Turner⭐️⭐️⭐️I noticed there is a Melissa Gilpin that posted on here. Now did someone use me or is there another Melissa? Well, 3 out of 4 doctors helped me. I remember Dr. KENNEDY was the best ER doctor I saw. He totally knew I was suffering with chronic pancreatitis. Why can’t the other doctors know I am not faking my pain? This is evil like Melissa Gilpin said. I can’t go to Hoag. They think I am drug seeking. Oh, this is awful to not get help. I am burning so badly it radiates all over my body. And they refuse to just take out my pancreas. I can’t live like this. Pain management is a joke. They don’t want to give me anything for this horrible pain. Help me!Susan RadkeWait time in the ER is so incredibly ridiculous!! We were seen by Triage almost right away, giving us a false sense of hope, especially since there were only a few people in the room. My mom sat in that room watching people come and go for just under four hours with a broken hand and still no end in sight. We finally left when they said there were only one or two people in front of us, which they had been saying for the past two hours. I know how it works… the more critical people are taken back first but seriously, this was crazy. By the time we left, there were well over 20 people in the room. No one came to check on her. We went to urgent care. She was seen by the doctor and received an X-ray within a half an hour. Then we went to a different ER where we waited for less than an hour but the triage nurse came out to check on her and gave my mom an ice pack while she waited.Scott EllenI highly Dont! Recommend this E.R. I’ve never seen so many Bums in a E.R. before Plus I’ve been sitting here for over 7 and a half Hours and thay only seen to be calles the Bums name it’s like W.T.F.Dr. NOYB⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’ve been to the emergency room at St. Joseph Hospital about three times in last five years. And each time the care provided has been amazing. Thank you, St Joseph E.R. staff.Paul MendezIt pains me to say, but St. Joseph Hospital has taken a turn for the worst. The experience I had during my most recent visit to the emergency room was just the latest in a string of unacceptable incidents that have occurred between myself, my family and St. Joseph. I was in the ER from 11:30am to 5:30pm only to be misdiagnosed; hours after being discharged I was carted off by ambulance to another hospital as my health began to deteriorate further. I was told I would be find by the attending physician at St. Joseph on 11/23. I felt this person was very dismissive and more interested in getting me out rather than getting me healthy. I believe he made up his mind about my diagnosis without actually digging deeper to find the root of my illness. I ended up at the Anaheim Regional ER and soon after, I was admitted to the ICU. Please, don’t take this review as jab against the entire staff. Their are plenty of good nurses, techs, and doctors at St. Joseph. It just saddens me that this particular individual gives these folks a bad rap by proxy. Even one the nurses outside my room was complaining to another nurse that this ER doctor was not visiting patience that needed his time and attention. My treatment at Anaheim Regional, however, was like night in day. The attending physician, Dr. Nima, was kind, attentive and did what he could to put the pieces together to come to a proper diagnosis. I felt like he listened to what I had to say, checked up on me frequently, and his staff was in good spirits. All signs of a well run department. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place if you can help it. Otherwise, pray that you get one the good doctor’s.Luisa RuizWas there tonight and the service was terrible. They are so slow at taking care of patients and yet seemed like they did not care. There were two patients that I had spoken to, and they bad told me that they had been waiting for six hours to be taken care of. It is an emergency room and I expect the hospital to take care of the sick quickly and efficiently. Their value is ” service”, well I give them a one start our of five for poor service.Karloz KoolMC⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAlways good…Chris D’AdazzioToday I went in with bad chest pain and I ask the girl at the front how long is it going to take call me in. Because I had a massive chest. I said excuse me and she literally ignored me I said excuse me and she literally ignored me again and I said excuse me do you not hear me. She was so nonchalant about the whole thing. She said she was going to look into it and she starts using your cell phone to start stalking to everybody like nothing I asked her again unfortunately this time I had to say something disrespectful which I’m not like that but I was just so much pain. That really killed it for that hospitalWynae PowellI was writing a review for the one in Towson, Md. not this locationSundeep Singh Sidhu⭐️⭐️⭐️This was for a visit a few months ago. Clean facility with amenities, but stay focused and know what you’re doing. Ask the nursing staff & your health care provider, meaning P.A., Nurse Practitioner or Physician as many questions as needed to feel comfortable. Don’t be discouraged by the wait; the triage nurse on staff when I visited the E.R. was kind. I received a bill for something that should have gone through insurance.Tara Gallaway⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️All ER visits take time. This place was faster than most and staff is very nice. I’ve been here over 30 times and still keep coming back. So it’s not that bad.Rose ShirkThe worse service that you can imagine, Very unprofessional and unhelpful. They suppose to be the caregivers but they walk around with no cares in the world and people around them are suffering.Brian FrenoWe were visiting the area from out of state. We needed to take our daughter to an emergency room, so we went to the St. Joseph Emergency Room. Ultimately, the doctor did not successfully diagnose or provide a recommendation. We transferred her to the neighboring Children’s Hospital of Orange County Emergency Room where she was diagnosed. Both facilities were in-network; however, St. Joseph charged us over four times what CHOC did. Despite not solving the problem, they used an inflated CPT code, relative to those used by both the medical staff, and they charged an amount for the inflated CPT code considerably higher than what is considered reasonable. I highly recommend avoiding this place if you want effective medical treatment or a reasonable bill.Jackie Oates⭐️⭐️My family and I have been part of St Joseph Hospital and affiliated doctors for over 50 years I understand that hoing to the ER on a weekend sucks. But tonight took the cake. People in the ER waiting to just be seen had been there a minimum of 4 hrs. I asked a few people. Plus when I was leaving to not wait, an attenedent confirmed the wait time by checking the computer Who knows how long it would have been to get into an ER room, see an actual doctor and get a scan done. I know I need a CT scan. Hopefully my 102 fever and abdominal pain will subside on it’s own.Cece Rican⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI have been here with my boyfriend since 2014-2016. for blood clot heart attack stroke n had great service everytime we came in. from the doctor n nurse n very helpful when he didn’t understand due to the language.
