St. Luke’s Hospital Reviews

Before you go to St. Luke’s Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Maumee emergency room think.

Mohamed Elwardany⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI brought my daughter here after a fall down some stairs. She is on a blood thinner. We were taken back right away and seen promptly. The nursing staff was friendly and attentive and Dr. Lint was amazing. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.Alec Gordon In terms of health care, they’ve been good. My family has been taken care of as well as I believe they could in most cases. However, I cannot recommend going here due to their new, and strange billing policy. Initially, we had a bill due date set (28th of each month), but now, it has to be made within 30 days of the last payment. So, if I pay early, then I have less time until my next payment. The due-date structure of every other service that could bill you is not good enough. Imagine your rent/mortgage is due on the first of the month, and then they change it to be due 30 days since your last payment. Did you pay a week early? Well now you have to pay a week early every time. Ignore the fact, that most months have 31 days. This is one of the most asinine billing policies I’ve ever heard of. The nearest hospital other than St. Luke’s to me is an extra 20 minutes away, but I will not go to St. Luke’s again, so I don’t have to deal with paying them under such a poor billing policy again. They are actively making payments worse for the people that pay early and get them their own money early.LA M⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedBest place to deliver a baby , I loved everyone of my nurses , they was nice genuine people, they made my family feel like family . What a great experience. Wish I wouldve had all my kids there, St Luke’s birthing center is way better than Toledo hospital. Thanks again ladies in OB you rock ❤Martha Preckler Whatever you do avoid the ER. Broke my wrist in 6 places and after ascertaining that sat in the waiting room in agony for 6 hrs waiting to be seen. Not an aspirin nor ice pack in sight. I was also diagnosed in the ER as having had a stroke..it was vertigo. Out patient and lab staff are great though.Ashley Jewell Phillips Absolute worst experience of my life. Intake staff was phenomenal…otherwise it was awful. Both the nurse and doctor were unprofessional. Laughing at me/trying to hold back laughter during my exam. I’ve never been so uncomfortable in a healthcare setting. I had a very scary issue going on but it was apparently a joke to the staff. At one point the nurse looked at the doctor after being asked if she had taken care of something for me and she said “I don’t know how to do that, it’s not my job.” I work in healthcare, I have patient contact every single day, no matter the circumstance I would NEVER speak like that or act the way they were acting. All in all i will never trust this hospital with any type of care.Andrea Rowe kujawa This place has a 2.8 what does that tell you? Billing is absolutely unprofessionally handled beyond comprehension.. the Er staff is rude… profit profit profit … the mighty dollar is all that matters. 100 million profit made off a non profit charity hospital.. st is the first part of your hospitals name… don’t hide behind it scamming the peopleChels r Can I give a 0? We have been here now two times to visit the ER. Both times, we had billing representatives come to our room and ask for payments. I did not once see an itemized statement as to what they were collecting charges for, what insurance would cover, etc. Completely unprofessional. One rep came in while my son was being examined by the nurse prior to being discharged. They have 0 business coming into a room trying to collect payments until we are discharged and are provided proper statements. A slip showing an amount owed does not tell me what we were charged for and what our insurance plan covered. We also had visited this ER because it was the closest at the time. After several X-Rays, we were then told we would have to visit another ER because they couldn’t help. This should have been stated before we checked in knowing they couldnt help my 4 year old because they didnt have a pediactric doctor onsite. It was a complete waste of timeJames Casey NIGHTMARE!!!! This was the worst experience I’ve had with a hospital and I’m been to every hospital multiple time in this area. My wife has stage 4 mestatic breast cancer and gets a paracentesis (the draining of access fluid from the stomach) done regulary. After seeing a scan that showed fluid on my wife’s lungs Dr. Boggs denied her the procedure and we had to leave without and treatment. Do not use this doctor for anything he is a joke and this hospital as a whole is terrible, I promise the other hospitals are not like this and as I read more of st. Luke’s reviews it seems like this happens all the time. DO NOT USE ST. LUKES OR DR. BOGGS OR YOUR LIFE COULD BE AT RISKING YOUR LIFE!Nik DBA If negative stars were allowed, St. Lukes ER would have -10! I left in worse shape than when I entered. My insurance will be billed a ridiculous amount for nothing. The doctor was really passive with my care; unacceptable and sad. YES, I do have tattoos but I also have health insurance and a Doctorate. Less judgement and more caring would be awesome. The doc kept mentioning there was nothing he could do…something you don’t want to hear at a hospital/ER. Well, urgent care managed to have non narcotic injectable medication that helped. All I can say is simply unacceptable and sad.Carli Crisler⭐️⭐️Literally went for a simple blood drawn test, and left with a blown vein. I even told/wished them good luck finding my veins, and when she did, she took her fingers off from my vein and lost it – still attempted to draw blood. I give two stars because it was relatively easy to get in and out, and very professional. But would have given more if my arm didnt make me look like I’m some kind of narcotics user gone wrong literally right before my vacation. I’m sure the other departments are wonderful, but dang does my arm hurt and look horrible. As an edit, I love the fact that everyone else has gotten a response back, but not mine. Thanks.karen W⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe’re in ER now. Have never been treated nicer. Everyone friendly and are genuinely caring. Great staff!!! Pat yourselves on the bacNikki Wharton-Eby⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThroughout the past 32 years, my late husband and I have received quality care and excellent service at St. Luke’s Hospital.Amanda Huffman⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’ve hear horror stories about this hospital and was a little skeptical coming here with my husband. But I would have to say I am SO glad we did. From the moment we walk into the emergency room to the point he was admitted nothing but the highest professionalism and care. My husband had to have emergency bypass surgery and the doctors were incredible. They took the time to talk us through the process and what to expect. I would recommend anyone I know to come here. This is an amazing care facility.rweltysr⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI’m a frequent flyer at St Luke’s and over the years they have taken excellent care of me. Always courteous and keeping me informed of the procedures and test results. Highly recommend them if you have a choiceKim Kim⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWent to ER the staff was very nice and professional. I needed a minor procedure done. Dr Zack is very nice, attentive and a good physician. The pre OP and post OP nurses are EXCELLENT!!! The nurses on East Unit were very kind and helpful, The STNAs were nice and always willing to help.when needed. Keep up the good workTyger56⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedScott the Woz filmed an intro to his Launch titles video on YouTube. HereJoe M Appalling ER room visit. Staff were rude, rushed, and now I’m being billed for a $500 ‘aspirin’ that I never took. Total cost to discover an inflamed muscle was pushing against a nerve was almost $4,000.00. Billing refuses to send an itemized bill breaking down the outrageous costs yet they won’t stop harassing me every day as I dispute charges. This hospital is the epitome of everything that’s wrong with the American healthcare system.RaY_Candim⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHey all scott here and step right up to the birthoff, where we “fuse?” illegal gamblin in pregnant women. Which pregnant will (scwert lmao idk) .Place ur bets and let’s find ou- I have been ordered to issue an apology by the court of law, and no instance should child birth be linkes to illegal gambling, and if there’s one thing that makes child birth a drag, its illegal gambling. Plesse forgive me, and dont set up a birthoff of ur own. I must now stay at least 50 feet away from any pregnant woman, and must complete 14 mintues of communtiy service by informing the public on a much less problematic topic, game console births and the title that come with them, sh*t thats it?Jeff Fischer Has anyone else experienced difficulty in obtaining a refund of excessive fees that were paid? Finally I had to resort to not paying a current family members bill until they refund the excess amount. 6 months now and no payment. Of course there is no one local that can resolve, the main offices are in Texas.God’s Raven Worst hospital ever. I’ve been in the ER twice and was treated horribly. Sent by my PCP and nurses treated me abomimably. They had no idea how to start an IV without multiple bruising. When I asked for a different nurse to stick me they were offended! SMH. They should have known to get someone else. I now, unfortunately, am forced to have an upcoming surgery there. I just had blood drawn yesterday and the nurse gave me a hematoma after very roughly doing the blood draw. I may have to go to the ER as it’s getting worse. I’m getting pretty concerned about going to this hospital for my surgery.Ken Materni⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedHow could I complain they saved my life got excellent care.Tailor Made The emergency room visit was more like a manipulation mad house. The doctor on staff Valerie was open but didn’t value concerns and forced her procedures on patients. Good luck telling her what you want. She will do the exact opposite to fit her selfish agenda. Very clear signs of witchcraft operating at this location. The nurse Kate was a side kick to the madness and to top it off had a gay male nurse who’s name may have been Charles that throws little fits/ temper tantrums when he can’t exam children. Perversion at its best. Won’t be returning to the emergency room at this location. Someone needs to monitor the staff and activity at this location after business hours especially when it comes to disabled patients or those in critical conditions. I believe their being taken advantage of by your male nurse mentioned above. Bed side manners, patience, and self-control should be key elements in training your emergency staff personnel. Front desk staff were exceptional.Mac Rafati⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER Recommended5 stares . Excellant service from the moment I checked in till I was discharge . Dr. Peron is very caring and did perform the surgery very well . The nurses were great and did perform an excellent job very professionally. So did the assistant nurses . Thank you for being a great HOSPITAL. Mahmoud Rafati .Jacob Kessler Worst experience ever!charles hicks⭐️⭐️⭐️My mother had heart bypass surgery in July. Somehow between them moving her between 3 different rooms, her partial plate was lost. Of course after speaking to the entire VCU staff, no one could find them. Just got off the phone with the patient rep and am being told that his documentation from the staff reveals that she never had her teeth there. Of course they are going to say that. Now waiting to hear back from them in a couple of days to hear the outcome of their investigation. Wow….. Really St. Lukes?????? Who the heck would lie about there teeth being there. How the hell did she eat for the 10 days she was there. I do applaud their surgeon though. Did an outstanding job. Heart has new plumbing but no dog on teeth.Lisa Hose On April 20th, I fell and injured my ankle. Severe swelling, bruising and pain sent this otherwise “tough girl” to St. Luke’s hospital in Maumee, Ohio. The front desk receptionist checked me in and I waited my turn. The wait was a reasonable length of time. The receptionist called my name and stood there waiting for me. I had a very hard time walking and didn’t know the extent of my injury. It was extremely painful to walk. When I got closer to the receptionist, he turned and walked ahead, leading me into the ER. I was moving very slowly because it hurt. He did not offer me a wheelchair or assistance of any kind. Not a hand or even a kind word. He barreled ahead of me impatiently. Now, I’m no Dr. and maybe I’m wrong here . . . but if my ankle were broken, which we didn’t know at the time, couldn’t walking on it cause further injury? What I do know for certain is that this man should have or could have offered me some sort of assistance. At the very least he could have been kind enough to slow his pace for me. Maybe they aren’t allowed to touch patients? In that case, a wheelchair would have been the perfect solution. Wouldn’t it? It turned out that my injury was a severe sprain and torn ligament. I’d also like to say that while I was waiting in the room for my x-ray results, no one offered me water or a pillow to elevate my foot, no ice or a wrap for the swelling which are standard treatment for such an injury. I was given a wrap and ice before I left but I sat there for at least two hours in quite a bit of pain. This visit left a very bad impression on me and St. Luke’s will definitely not be my first choice in the future. It has always been highly rated with me, but no longer.Shawn Roose Very unprofessional I did not feel comfortable and staff was not thoural or respectful. The Lewis family This has to be the worst hospital in northwest Ohio. Even if you think you are going to die I would just keep going to Toledo. Went to the ER for 6 hours for them to tell us they could not do anything and wanted to send the kid in an ambulance. He was not on any sort of monitoring so for the life of me I can’t understand what could have been so urgent to warrant that. Took 4 and half hours just to see a doctor. When we started to express our displeasure the got snippy and rude. This place just flat out sucks!Jane Doheau The worst. I can’t imagine a worse hospital. Don’t take your loved ones here.Wade Cuzynski⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had never been to St. Luke’s until recently. The staff were professional and friendly. They took exceptional care of me and one nurse went way above her normal duties to help me.I would recommend St. Luke’s to anyone in need of heath care.Sean Sullivan hey all scott hereM S⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedVery nice staff nurses and doctors. Efficient and compassionate.Shannon G was brought into the ER because i was having flank pain that I was certain was from a kidney stone, as i’ve had them multiple times before. I could barely walk and was vomiting from the pain, and little to no effort was made to get me into a room quickly. Once I was finally put in a room, i wasn’t given any pain meds for another 2 hours despite my practically delirious state. Ended up being admitted, and stayed for two days. Throughout the entire experience, every time I called for a nurse, it took over 30 minutes for them to actually respond to a request for pain medication, or assistance to go to the restroom. Easily one of the most frustrating hospital stays i’ve ever had.Jesse Cooper⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Went to St. Luke’s Hospital on June 5, 2018 for a medical procedure. Checked in at 8:15 AM on June 5, checked out on June 6 at 11:30 AM. All went well with the exception of one instance of service on June 5 in the evening. When the nurse made her rounds @ 7:30 PM I let her know I would like to take a walk later in the evening, she said for the 1st walk she needs to be present to make sure I’m stable. I called @ 8:50 & said I’m ready to walk. 9:40 nothing. Take a look @ the info board, 9:40 is my next pain meds. I called again & requested my meds! 9:50 nothing! By now I’m in pain, I called again with a light weight go off; “I called a hour ago for a walk, then I called @ 9:40 for meds and I’ve gotten nothing! She tried to explain how busy the floor has been. I said busy or not its been an hour, that’s unacceptable, so you know it took them another 15 mins, (1 hr 15 mins total), to come. I want to file a complaint! I’m ready to go home! Other than that everything else was good, surprisingly enough, even the food. Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphoneKoperski Jason I will never go back!!!! This was my goto hospital for years….not anymore!!!!!!!! Where is the no star button!!!!!Lindsay Ames Slowest care ever. Could care less about your pain or the care you needElizabeth Beck⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Quick, efficient ER.
