Before you go to St. Peter’s Hospital, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Albany emergency room think.
A M⭐️⭐️⭐️Needed an MRI but they wouldn’t do one because it was a Saturday. They also had issues inputting my insurance information, so I had to give them my information at least 2 times during the time I was there. Reaching the billing department or hearing from them is like winning the lottery. May the odds be ever in your favor.Kimberly DePaoloI have needed to go to St Peter’s 3 times in the past 2 years for 2 surgeries and for the birth of my daughter. I will never go back because their billing company (NPAS) is TERRIBLE!!! I had wonderful experiences at the hospital. The care I received was great and the staff and even the food was wonderful. However, all 3 times I’ve gotten bills from NPAS and every time they say they don’t have my health insurance info and try to bill me directly. You have to give them your health insurance info at least 3 times and ask to speak to a manager before they FINALLY bill your health insurance and then this last time, they billed my health insurance after months and then keep sending me a bill for $150 more than my insurance said I owed and they will not tell me what it is for and will not resubmit to my health insurance even though the total they are billing is $150 more than the total they submitted to my insurance to begin with! I’ve waisted countless hours on the phone with them. They do not return calls. And it is such a headache that I refuse to go back to St. Peter’s just because it’s not worth the time of dealing with their billing company. It’s so unfortunate.Kadasia WilliamsLabor & delivery nurses are terrible. When I first got to the hospital they started to track my contractions then attempted to put an IV in me. The first time they tried to put it in my right arm & the nurse put it in wrong and I was SCREAMING & Crying in so much pain. They then tried my left arm and once again they did not put it in correctly, my arm started to hurt & became very hard to move. The 3rd time they attempted to put it on the side of my wrist on my right hand & Also failed at that. I suggested that they’d try my hand & that’s when it finally worked. They tried to tell me it was because I had “Rolling veins” but I’ve never had this problem anywhere else. When I was in surgery the doctors did not try to calm me down, Instead they just scared me more than I already was. Once they took my son out of my stomach I couldn’t hear him cry so I asked them why & their response was “don’t worry about it”. Something is truly wrong with this place & I will never return back or suggest anyone to come here. Very sad!Ammar B⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy mother and I went to the ER and we are truly amazed at the exceptional service which we received by the helpful nurses. Most importantly, Dr. Lina Finlan was outstanding and very knowledgeable!! Thanks to her, my mother is doing much better. I would highly recommend St. Peter’s Hospital! Best Regards, Anjum & FamilyJennifer WagonerMy Dad was brought down by ambulance left in the ER for 2 hrs waiting to be called back. Despite my multiple complaints. He was then sent to his room in the hallway. We then waited there another 6 hrs after he had been admitted, asking for water or ice chips. Hisnurse who started off greatmeli ,⭐️⭐️The security officers in the emergency room are very very nasty. I sat and watched many people get treated in a way that is not consistent with the care that the staff give here. Someone needs to speak with these gentlemen about how they talk to people. I just watched the heavy set Caucasian security officer basically make an old lady cry. Whoever is in charge of these security officers really need to have a conversation with them about respect for the individual. Those security officers are one of the 1st people you encounter coming to this emergency room, why and who gave the authority to act so disgraceful?? I will say the younger one with brown hair is cordial. But to totally verbally abuse people when they have sick loved ones is completely uncalled for. I will update with his nameSamanthaMy son has an ear infection. They took to the back and made us sit in a chair. That took 2 hours. Finally got a room and 15 minutes later after my son throws up in front of the nurses they send us back to the waiting room. Im still here with my son covered in his throw in the waiting room. This is disgusting inhumane treatment. Will never come here again.Morris FiorilloAs far as the Health care provided very very good service professional care. However the billing department needs serious help. I have been trying to get a receipt for months, can not get anyone on the phone or to return a phone call. When phone call was finally returned customer service was very rude.Kristin RichardI have been on hold with the PAT department for well over an hour so I can schedule appointments for surgery that is two weeks away. This is wrong– I have had my surgery scheduled with the wrong doctor AND for a different reason so far in this process. Needless to say, I would not recommend anything having to do with St. Pete’s right now.Renee ChesbroughOne of the longest er visits I have ever done! 4 hours is way to long for a urine sample!Barb DesclosThis is by far the worst hospital. As i was checking my daughter in to detox this poir old lady was left atvthe door in a wheelchair with no blanket i went to the desk and asked for a blanket gor het got attitude from thwe nurse who was eating and on her cell phone . after being there for 8 hras i left and thevlady was still waiting for a ride and no blanket . my daughter was released to take a taxi home fron m a 2 day detox of heroin . are you serious !!! That hodpital is a jokwr i will advise people to look elsewhere fpr care . you dont leave an addictwho is seeking help with no resources to fillow throygh with . Im appauled at that care my daighter did NOT receive and im appauled that the elderly lady sat in a cold entrance way with no blanket for 8 hrs to wait for a lyft drivrr when she needed a wheelchair van and a blanket. Beyond disgusted witbthat hospitaltalIdamis AponteIm been sitting haere in the ER for 3 house still waiting for a ultrasound from my abdominal pain never ever coming haere dont recomendable to no oneeErika SorensenThis hospital ER staff is seriously lacking in bedside manner. They also don’t treat anything, all they so is hold you hostage for hours and hours and have you refer to an outside doctorStacy MonforteWent in to the emergency department late evening. Was told by urgent care for them telling me I needed a CT scan. Waited over 6 hours. Never seen a MD. Staff was very rude. Nurse came of with morphine for me. No thanks I’m not taking morphine. So that tells me someone is giving orders without them seeing me. After 6 hours nurse comes with discharge papers and never did the MD or PA come over to give me my results. Seems like St. Peters hospital is becoming just like Ellis hospital. Very sadChantel DavenportLabor and delivery nurses were rude and condescending. I was pushed into getting an epidural early when I requested to wait I was told I wouldn’t get another chance if I didn’t do it now ( I was only 4 cm’s dilated and still wouldn’t deliver for another 24 hours.) The next 2 nurses I had were in training and did not know how to perform simple tasks, including leaving IV lines unattached and dripping on the floor until my husband noticed and pointed this out. Last nurse I had basically told me and informed my husband I was being a wimp after my OB suggested a c-section being in labor for over 60 hours, with nothing to eat/drink for over 24 hours, and my daughter still wouldn’t drop into my pelvis. I’ve never cried so much or felt so ashamed as these nurses made me feel. I tried advocating for myself thru the whole long process but was constantly talked over and over ruled, I had so many injections after 3 failed attempts to get my epidural done. I barely remember my actual c-section besides myself crying and vomiting from so many drug interactions. If I could give 0 stars I would.Rielly CountoisThis place sucks, I do not recommend at all. The doctors and nurses don’t know what they are doing at all.Mister subzCame in for knee draining, arthritis, pain in hip. On 3rd floor, the nurses tricked me basically, saying they would give me pain medicine. They gave me 1 5mg hydrocodone and started the procedure, with no other medecine, also no local. the pain was 20/10 out of this world, almost blacked out. wheni came to i was falling out of the bed, thy were not professional or friendly.Pamela Wik-GrimmMinimal standard of care, mostly ignored and finally self-dischargedD Q⭐️⭐️My wife has been waiting four hours in severe pain after admittance for pain medication as prescribed by the doctor. This is completely unacceptable and borderline criminal treatment.Cameron RadkeI went in for severe chest pains. I’m not complaining about the 3 hour wait time, that is something that the nurses truly can’t change. They can’t just make a room appear. But I waited 3 hours to get in a room, and then I was just downright neglected until the last hour. I was there for about 9 hours. I had high blood pressure, I saw for myself on the monitor since it was automatically taken every 45 mins. no one addressed that, I’m not even sure anyone checked the monitor once. It kept beeping in my ear because my breaths per minute were getting too low..I was really just relaxing falling asleep but it was hurting my head so badly because I hadn’t eaten all day and just got blood drawn. So i’m not sure if that was an issue really but the doctor literally ignored the beeping and just talked over it. I was miserable all night. I work in the medical field as well so I try to be as understanding as possible…but what really got me was when the doctor told me they saw nothing wrong with my heart….”you got an x-ray done, right?” NO! I didn’t! All they took was my blood pressure and that was high at resting! They did an EKG and it seemed normal but still. So he says “we’ll do a quick X-Ray and get you out of here.” This sentence made me want to cry……can you understand why? He knew what his answer was going to be even before taking the x-ray. I forgot to mention I went to urgent care and they told me to go to the ER, my blood pressure was reading high there too. I have an autoimmune disease that took me 4 years to get diagnosed, and I got told that I “don’t look like someone with lupus.” That’s not for anyone but a specialist to decide…so of course my heart drops because obviously the doctor already knew in his head that he wasn’t going to take me seriously….he didn’t even know I didn’t get my X-Ray done and he was about to discharge me and tell me nothing was wrong. Of course he said the X-ray was clear, and he urged me to call my rheumotologist asap which was kinda weird cause I told them I have an appointment in 2 weeks, but I wanted more imaging done…my bloodwork has been showing possibly kidney failure for months and he straight up didn’t take me seriously. Makes me really really scared. I am still having extreme chest pains and they’re getting worse…I don’t feel good at all and I hate that they just let me go without testing everything they possibly could. Makes me think they really don’t care to find out.isabella taccetta⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWe had to utilize the radiation treatment center for my mother. We were all very happy with the staff and help we received while we were here.Vanita Mitchell⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy Asthma was really acting up to the point I couldn’t breath I was transported to St. Peter’s I never cared for this hospital before in fact didn’t want to come but thank God I did I’m alive and I received the best possible care the Nurses’s, Pct’s,Rt’s,Doctors are just Awesome!!! I had to spend a few days in ICU Love those guys not to mention the food was top restaurant quality you heard me correctly I was on a regular diet and I know I gained 20 pounds LOL!!! even though I was here for over a week it was a great experience Thank You St. Peter’s for saving my life and God Bless you all and cudos to the housekeeping staff also for keeping it fresh and cleanemma pearsallWorst experience ever, I’m 17 and passed out in there waiting room, got no help, finally after 4 hours of waiting I got into a room and got a iv stuck in me with no fluids, waited 2 hours for blood work and they said I was fine and to be sent home, I was running 103 fever for 4 days and I’ve been sick since last Friday, never coming here againMichael McLaughlin⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️So aside from the fact you might have to pay to park. And the catering service is trying but has many misses. The staff are great. The RNs make the place, the doctors take time to speak with everyone and ensure every step is explained. Visiting hours are 9 to 9 so realize coming in late might result in visitors being turned away as you get settled. Also main entrance is not on New Scotland and is a bit hidden if under pressure or in garage as the walkway makes it feel like you are going the wrong way.Joe DelbertaCalled about a billing question, put me on hold for 1.5 hours(and holding), I believe they do this to wear people so they will hang upCharles KoubekHad an SICD implanted that didn’t work. Next day tortured me again, still didn’t work. Next day, removed the SICD implant and implanted an ICD. So besides the added pain and scars I now get a letter for collection for a $25.00 co-pay bill which I know I never received. Never again.Kathleen Harrison⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedA loved one of mine under went major surgery. He was placed in a room on the 6th Floor (McAuley). The staff was absolutely the most kind hearted and caring individuals we have ever experienced in a really long time. They were absolutely amazing. A personal Thank you to Jen, Michelle, Kristen, Lovey, Ira, Matina, for looking over him, and taking care of him until his departure. We will forever be grateful to you. God bless.Jihye Kim⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went to the breast center and people were really kind.Phillip Egan⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent! Great staff super friendly and nice!! Surgery went great! Recovery so far is great!!! Highly recommend I used dr MontgomeryNatalie RumseyI brought my child in after a fall down the stairs that injured his mouth. The doctor immediately began interrogating me. I was feeling scared and stressed about my baby and all he did was ask me questions like, “why did you change his clothing?” After many random questions that had nothing to do with the actual fall, he finally looked in my baby’s mouth and said to other people than me, “we won’t be able to do anything here.” Horrific bedside manner! Horrific treatment towards us. The next day CPS was knocking on my door. They told me they could clearly see it would be an open and shut case… But the stress this CPS case has caused me and my family has been huge. I already can’t forgive myself for his fall, but now I have to answer questions, have this on my record, and feel like the worst parent in The world. I am afraid to ever take my children to the hospital again. Accidents happen!! Should I not have taken him to the hospital? Maybe a better parent would have just handled this on their own??? How was it necessary to call CPS on me and stress everyone out in our family? The doctor took no time to get to know me, he didn’t seem concerned about my child’s comfort/pain or the state he was in. Absolutely terrible experience. I will never return or recommend this hospital Linda Carrigan-Deerfield⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy grand-daughter had her first child at St. Peter’s 3 days ago. I visited her daily, at different times, and was very impressed with the nursing and medical staffs. Also liked the high level of security surrounding the entire maternity floor. The environmental service staff keeps the patient rooms, restrooms, public areas immaculate. I was genuinely surprised at the level of friendliness throughout the entire staff, notably different from visits over a decade ago! I genuinely hope that these standards will remain in place and not be allowed to erode through time! Great Job!Mr. Vacca⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThe nurses and doctors at this hospital are miracle workers. I can’t speak highly enough about the facilities, the kindness of the staff and support from everyone…even the parking attendant! I highly recommend this hospital if you are looking for a place to have your baby! Dominic S⭐️⭐️Had surgery done and while recovering They were supposed to change my IV after 72 hours and never did and my hand ended up swollen like a baloon also no one cleaned the bathroom for 4 days straight in a room with double occupancyYoYo Happy⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedOur family is so Please with the care our mother is received at St Peter’s hospital. She was located on the 6th floor. It was easy going home at night knowing she was well taken care of. She was especially fond of Antonio, Natalie, Chris Emily, Flo. Of course we want to thank each of you on the 6th floor. Her PT person was patience and understanding. Special thanks to Dr David Abraham (she loves him). We wish each of you the best. PS. Thanks also to her social worker, Sue.Eric Harrison⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedAs an out patient today I must say that this is my first visit & I was treated with great service in all departments. This will be my hospital of choice. EricChristina Staton⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Want to thank RN Desiree Anderson, & Nurse Tek Gale Banks for their exceptional care. Nurse Anderson, was incredibly professional, informative and attentive. Rarely do you find a nurse that encapsulates everything that a nurse should be. Gale is a ray of sunshine. She is accommodating and has the personality that makes you feel like you are at home as opposed to being in a hospital. It’s refreshing and relieving to experience such incredible care and it’s nice to know that nice people still exist.Cheryl Celentano⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMy husband recently had left hip replacement surgery with Dr Fletcher. His surgery and stay on the sixth floor Orthopedics was great. Nurses and other staff members were great . Especially like Day nurse Renee and tech Angel were very helpful. OT and PT staff very thorough and helpful!Marie Prokop⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI went to St. Peter’s for open heart surgery with Dr. Niloo Edwards. I received wonderful care from the doctors and staff and also from partner Capital Cardiology. I would recommend them to anyone. They are a wonderful facility and they got me through a very worrisome ordeal.Richard LLoydIts a shame no one at St Peters enforces the NO SMOKING ON THE PROPERTY.Jaclyn Ewers⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Emergency room experience was excellent… Was triaged and placed in a room in a matter of minutes.Staff was very concerned, polite, and competent. Social worker took a slightly different approach to a serious situation than I would have expected with less urgency but she seemed still concerned for our well being in general. Sitters and PCA’s were very helpful and friendly.James Kelly⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedThank you to all the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital! What a wonderful experience, with a total knee replacement surgery. I never thought I would be using those words together. I had resisted the surgery for twenty years, visited many top doctors across the country, and tried various injections of cartilage replacing fluids. Finally my bone on bone pain and limited mobility made it obvious that I would be watching life pass me by, instead of living it. I started to get some second opinions and a friend recommended Doctor Conguista. At the first appointment I knew he was the surgeon for me. He took the time to answer my many questions, was friendly, and realistic about the work that I would have to do to prepare and recover from from the operation. His surgical team, mandatory classes and the facilities at St Peter’s Hospital were first rate. During my recovery process my Physical Therapist, Dr. Megan Mullin of Woodstock, commented numerous times on the skill of my surgeon and recommended other clients to Dr. Conguista. I heartily recommend Dr. Conguista to anyone, and have personally suggested him to some of my good friends who are in need of this form of treatment. It certainly takes effort on the patient’s side to do the physical therapy but it is worth it. It has been about six weeks since my first surgery and I am walking without even a cane. The scar is small and disappearing. This coming week Dr. Conguista is performing total knee replacement surgery on my other leg at St. Peter’s Hospital. I am looking forward to dancing at friend’s weddings again.John Fowler⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedIts a great hospital. The top surgeons in many fields but especially orthopedic and cardiovascular.Paula Crehan⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedExcellent staff and providers from the Emegency Room to the Cardiac Unit On behalf of the Crehan Family , Thank You The Lord Himself is in this place.Jenni BooIm currently at St Peters in the birth place after having a planned C section this morning. This has been one of the worst days of my life and it was supposed to be one of the best. The incompetent and rude staff and nurses on this unit is the reason for this. It’s 130 in the morning and I’m sharing a room with another person who had a different delivery and has decided to squish her entire family into her side of it. They also have the lights on and are talking away like it’s a party. And her baby will not stop crying. I have had exactly 1 dose of tylenol and 1 other medication all day since my c section at 10am. The other medication wasn’t working and wasn’t what I was supposed to be getting. It took me almost all day and several arguments about why I was not getting the medication I was supposed to be getting, and finally a call to the head nurse to complain before they finally started giving me my medicine. I hate this place and I would get better care and more rest and recovery at HOME by my self than I have gotten here.T Stimac⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedMedical imaging services are expertly performed by consummate professionals.Melissa Heshmat⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️They are great!Michel NaySeriously the worst hospital ever. That are not attentive and you just wait while that walk around. How can you let someone be in constant pain and do nothing. I hope I die and they shut this place down.Alis autoNot happy, they treated her great in the beginning great team answered all questions, when it was time to go home everything checked out good according to the team. 8 hours later back in the hostipal with double pneumonia.if anything stand behind your work and the patient.Jeremy CaponeWell…I got injured pretty badly and found myself at the ER at St.Peters. Upon arrival I was given a couple shots of morphine as I was in extreme pain. They didn’t have a plastic surgeon on staff so they took me in an ambulance to Albany Med where I received treatment to my face – a rotary cut off wheel exploded in my face. My total bill at Albany Med was 4k which included 2 shots of fentanyl and a ton of stiches. They did a great job, I’m so thankful. I’m getting ready to pay my bill to St.Peters tomm. Zero treatment, 4 thousand dollars. For what, I’ll never know. What a great hustle. 4 grand for a shot and turning me over to Mowhawk ambulance. Wish I had gone to Albany Med from the beginning. Won’t make that mistake again.Angela Starks⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI had some trouble finding the correct enterance. Valet parking, Was a great help. After a bad experience with a ER nurse at the VA I came to St. Peter’s to check for e coli. The experience from start to finish was professional, pleasant and reassuring. I so wish I could just use the medical care with St. Peter’s.fatso ryan⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedDefinitely my go to Hospital in the future. I had a procedure in the cath lab and from the minute I entered the building I had an immediate sense that I was going to be in good hands. It started with the registration staff who were extremely professional and so pleasant. I arrived an hour early and within literally minutes I was escorted into the lab area. The staff in the lab were amazing. They put me at ease with their professional demeanor and friendly attitude..I almost forgot I was in a hospital..From beginning to end someone was always checking on my well-being and even made sure I was fed and hydrated after the procedure. I have been in Albany Med which is a great hospital but is a truck stop compared to St.Peter’s . Kudos to management and staff for getting the hospital mission on point. My warmest regards to all of youLeonard O⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Nice hospital but keep an eye on your bills received a check back for over payment then they try to send bills for payment for the overpayment periodNicole StubbsIts literally the worst experience ever. I hate this hospital and after having three children here I will never come back to this hospital or any of their facilities again. They made having my baby a hell…J JFaryal B 6 reviews 2 months ago- Worst hospital! The ICU is horrible they don’t care about anyone! Only a Select few nurses helped everyone else had an attitude. We have a family member in critical condition of course were going to be worried and ask questions but every time we ask questions they would get irritated when family members would come in and out they would get irritated worst place ever honestly I don’t even know how this hospital is still functioning. But a law suit will be involved! This is a spot on review of this hospital. It is the worst staff I have ever dealt with. I am the next of kin, health care proxy, and medical power of attorney for my family member and this dump won’t call me or tell me anything. They care nothing for their patients or family and seem only interested in running up the bill. They have refused to transfer my family member to a different hospital even though we are not religious and do not use this hospital ever. They have violated our rights on so many levels it’s not even funny. Update to the hospital response: They also convinced my mother to sign a DNR, something she had never had in the past. 3 weeks later she passed away in a physical rehab facility!Meta Watts⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️My husband was hospitalized at St Peter’s three times in the past year, twice on cardiology, once for urology. Both times he was admitted through the ER. We can’t say enough about how great the care was. With very few exceptions, all staff were kind, caring and helpful. I read some of the other reviews and am stunned that some others had negative experiences. Sometimes patients have to be patient and understanding too. We live more than an hour’s drive awsy, but St Peter’s is still our hospital of choice. Thank you.Janelle Mazner⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedCame here with son after being discharged from Samaritan day before where we waited 3 hours just to get an Iv for dehydration and to even be seen at Samaritan.
