Before you go to Summit Campus, you may want to know what the people who have already gone to this Oakland emergency room think.
Jad BadranYou’re better off driving an extra mile to somewhere better. The ER “doctors” just prescribe the same meds to each person who walks in.Marilyn and Frans Baars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedI found everyone in this Emergency Department to be courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Everything was handled efficiently and my consultation with Dr. Jenna Dean was outstanding. My thanks to all the staff and nurses and to Dr. Dean.Latina AbroadRegistration here is such a fail. I”ve been here four hours. The lady at registration department registered all the people who came after me first and she practically left me behind. My head will explode and no one cares. Zero stars should be an option.Coki AtBayAreaI brought my son over the weekend as he had a heavy chest pain, short breathing, and coughing heavily and with excruciating pain. He was admitted in another ER hospital the day before. This was at 2:45 AM. The front desk person registered us in but we were surprised that they did not let us in immediately. There were only 2 person in front of me. The staff told me that they are shifting nurses and waiting for open bed bed. My son continued to be in pain, and at 3:30 he was still not admitted and tended. I peeked inside and I see some nurses talking and laughingn like normal in emergency, and I asked a different lady at this time in the front if they can see my son and she was very annoyed and iterating the same thing but this was 45 minutes after!!! and you are still changing nurses?????? what the hell? My son continued to be in pain and I decided to leave this hospital and took him to a different Sutter health facility in San Francisco and this was at 4:30 AM. And within 5 minutes he was tended immediately and taken care of. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and given heavy dose medicines to remove his pain. I will give 5 stars to that facility. It is amazing that Sutter has this emergency facility as bad as the Alta bates one. Please if you can drive further try to stay away from this facility especially late at 2 AM!!! Management, please take a look at your staff and train them how to know who to tend someone in extreme pain and let alone to be diagnosed a pneumonia! it is pretty much same thing with stroke or heart attack!! At this time my son is recovering thanks to the team in the other Sutter Facility Center.Elias Aseged⭐️⭐️⭐️No kind of urgency or empathy shown by the staff up front. I have a surpressed immune system and waited over 1.5 hours with a 104 fever. Update: once I was given a bed, the team was very attentive. Giving 3 stars mostly because of the intake/triage process.Sardar HussainVery bad serviceSONJA DAVISONDon’t do it. Go anywhere else. I though Alta Bates was bad but I found somewhere worse.Penny Nunez-McDonough⭐️⭐️I don’t like leaving bad reviews but maybe I’ll just say don’t come here unless you’re almost sure you’re going to die… may be worth the drive to get somewhere else and you could be seen sooner. They seem very understaffed for the size of the facility. CautionPecos De Mi Anima⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅ ER RecommendedWas there about six hours but my friend had a ct scan of his head and abdomen also blood work and iv started staff was very friendly and nice nurse miss megan was extra special nice and calm us both down and dr was great tocaran rugaWent to emergency at 1:00pm. Was triaged quickly. Actually saw a doctor at 9:30pm. The wait was 8 1/2 hrs!! Understaffing is a huge problem.Curt Weddington⭐️⭐️⭐️Took good of grandmother after some diabetic problems though the doctor kept telling her things along the lines that “we (her family) don’t care about her” which made her cry. I was visiting from Richmond every day and various other family members were every day too. When I was there I never saw the doctor. Nurses were friendly and helpful despite the strike that was happening at the time.Bette Reed⭐️⭐️ER is fine but the follow-up with ICU Intensivists (doctors) are poor. They are arrogant, rude, did not care to talk or explain to patient or family members. Nurses marked off the chart for patient care as q2h (every 2 hours) when in reality they check my dad every 3 or 4 hours, sometimes only once at night. Alarms go unanswered for a long long time. If your loved one is hospitalized here, you need to be a patient advocate and stay on top of things.Jon Wilson⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Friendly, with some truly excellent people, though perhaps slightly understaffed. Also rather expensive with a visit to the ER costing $5,069 + any imaging & labs – insurance payments & adjustments. Hopefully you have better insurance than my garbage $325/month Anthem Bronze 60 D HDHP EPO plan.Andriel WilliamsThe WORST ER to ever go to ! Have you waiting for hours with no consideration. Unless your dying, dont rely on them. How can you have people wait 4, 5 hours to be seen in ER? Ridiculous …Nicholas PhillipsAbsolutely the worst ER. Have been here for 6 hours and still haven’t seen a doctor.carlos mezaHarable. I went in. With some scrotul pain. N. Just because I’m Hispanic they. Denied. My service.Sarah STheir ER doctors did stitch me up, but their follow up and billing services were a nightmare that took years to resolve. If you ask in writing not to be given opiates, your wishes ought to be respected. If you ask for police to be called so that you can file a report, that ought to have happened by the time you are discharged.Norwarren Kittling-Muhammad⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Called and was able to speak love one immediatelyjanaya jonesCame here for a splint for a broken thumb and had to wait 8hrs and counting in agonizing pain do not come here even if it is an emergency you most likely will be sitting around waitingIesha Mandolph⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️My son wemt and we were in and out in about a hour
